I got home later that day with Jongin, we decided to get to work on my grandmother’s attic and I was now in the attic after getting changed, putting cardboard boxes together so we could get to work.

“So what happened with Chanyeol?” Jongin asked from in front of the attic window, picking up a pile of old books and dropping them into one of the boxes already “Did he confess?”

I shot him a dry look “I don’t want to talk about it Jongin. I’m up here to get my mind off it and no, of course he didn’t. He pretty much admitted it was a no go.”

“His loss then,” Jongin shrugged “Oh hey this is cool.” He held up a top hat and set it on his head.

I snorted at him “It strangely suits you.”

“Thanks,” He kept it on as he moved towards another pile of books “I wonder why there’s so many books up here.”

“My grandfather was a collector,” I told him with a sigh “He loved knowledge. I know it’s baffling considering we’re not exactly the most intellectual family on earth.”

“What?” I stood up and moved towards him “Where?” I sat down beside him and low and behold, there was my mom and dad.

“What happened to your mom?” Jongin asked, running his finger over the woman I barely knew “I never see any pictures. Or hear anyone talk about her.”

“To be honest I’m not really that sure,” I shrugged “Jongdae knew her more than I did. He was old enough to comprehend things. I vaguely remember anything from before I was four years old.”

“You don’t know?”

“Well I know she died in an accident,” I said taking the binder from him and flicking to the next page which was a picture of my dad, my mom and Jongdae “But other than that my mom’s a taboo top
