On the ride home, with me in the front seat and Luhan, Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Minseok cramped into the back seat of Jongdae’s car, he constantly apologized over and over again about what had happened. Baekhyun too was apologetic; especially when Chanyeol manoeuvred his hand beside the seat and took my phone, showing them all the entire recorded conversation.

                   I was still crying silently in the front seat when it fell silent, the only noises left in the car were my uneven breathing and the sound of me sniffling every now and then. It was pitiful.

“Mira,” Minseok heaved a long sigh as Jongdae pulled the car up outside of our house “You’re making me want to go back there to land a hit myself.”

“Sorry.” I sullenly apologized.

“You know the pathetic thing is that they tried to split our friendship up over a sport that I’m not even remotely interested in.” Chanyeol spoke up and Jongdae turned in his seat to look at him.

Baekhyun nodded in agreement “I just wanted to try and get a girlfriend before we graduate. I wasn’t actually that interested either.”

“The only pathetic thing about this whole situation is Gongchan.” Luhan shook his head.

“Can you guys get home from here?” Jongdae turned back around “I’d offer a lift but…”

“We understand,” Minseok nodded as he opened the door “We’ll see you tomorrow. Oh and Mira?”

“Yes?”

“Everything that Gongchan said was a lie,” Minseok pulled the door towards him “There was nothing wrong with how you looked before. There’s nothing wrong with how you look now and there is definitely nothing wrong with your personality either. When he said that no one was interested in you. That was a lie. There were plenty of people over the years that actually had an interest in you; there was just one giant problem that stopped them.”

“What?” I frowned at him, turning in my seat to look at him.

Luhan reached out and ruffled my hair “Your brother is what stopped them. A lot of people wanted to ask you out Mira. They just valued Jongdae’s friendship too much to do anything about it.”

Jongdae whirled in his seat to look at Luhan “Like who?”
