Amber’s POV

I forced a smile at Jessica-shi as I walked back to her. We waited for a taxi to come but heavy rain poured all of a sudden.

“Aaaaah! It’s raining!” Jessica and I ran for shelter and we ended up on a shed. Her hair was really wet and I saw her shivering so I took my jacket off and wrap it around her shoulders.

“Thanks. I told you that you don’t have to accompany me home. Now you’re stuck here with me.” She forced a smile as she pulled my jacket tightly.

“Then you could have ended up here alone. Do you live far from here?”

“Kinda. A twenty-minute taxi ride.”

I never thought she lived that far. It would take us forty minutes to get there if we walk. I excused myself from Jessica and dialled Yuri’s number. “Yul, are you home?”

“I’m hanging out with some friends at S-Club! Why?!” Yuri said loudly. I could hear the loud disco music from the other line.

“Just stay out for tonight, I will use your bed.”

“What bed?! Yah, what are you planning to do on my bed?!”

“My friend will spend the night at home. Just sleep at your friend’s place, ok?”

“Ok! Just be sure to change the sheets after you do it!” Then she hung up.

What the hell is my ert roommate thinking?

“Jessica-shi,” I called her and she looked at me with those cold but tired-looking eyes. “I’m staying at the university dormitory. You can spend the night there if you want.” She just stared at me blankly. “Uhmm. Let’s just wait for the rain stops at my place then I’ll take you home.”

Jessica just nodded weakly.

“At the count of three, we’ll start running, ok? One, two, three!” I pulled her hand and we began running as fast as we could until we reached our dormitory. “You can sit anywhere you want. Feel at home,” I told her when we reached my room.

I heated some water and prepared some clothes for her. “Jessica-shi, are you alright?”

“I’m ok,” she replied as she forced a smile.

She looked so pale and her lips were shivering so I felt her forehead and she was really hot. “Gawd. You’re hot! Here, change your clothes first. I’ll grab some medicine.” I gave her some dry clothes before I went to look for some aspirin in the medicine box.

Aish. Where did Yuri put the medicine box?! It’s nowhere to be found!

Jessica’s POV

Amber seemed in panic as she was looking for something and I was surprised when she suddenly walked out the door in a hurry. My head felt heavy and I didn’t have the energy to follow her.

I checked my phone and was shocked to see a lot of missed calls from my sister so I called her back.

“Yah, Unnie! Where are you?! You’re not picking up my calls, do you know how worried I was?!” my sister scolded from the other line.

“Sorry, Krys. I stayed up late at the laboratory. I was about to go home when the rain poured all of a sudden,” I explained. Knowing my sister, she couldn’t sleep because she was worried.

“Where are you? I’ll pick you up right now.” My little sister always acts like she’s the Unnie.

“It’s past midnight, little sister. Just stay at home. And it’s raining pretty hard. Don’t worry about me; I’m in the university dorm, staying over at my assistant’s place.”

“Are you sure you’re alright?”

“I feel a little sick but I’ll be fine. It’s late, Krys. You better rest. Goodnight.” And I hung up.

I changed into the clothes that Amber gave me and lay on her bed. It was warm and soft and I could smell Amber’s scent from the pillows. Hugging the pillow felt like hugging Amber too. Jessica Jung, did you just think of hugging Amber? Speaking of her, where did she go on a rainy night like this?

After a few minutes, she barged into the room. Amber’s clothes were all wet and she was catching her breath as she approached me.

“Here, swallow one tablet of this and you’ll be fine tomorrow morning,” Amber said as she gave me a pack of aspirin.

Did she run outside just to buy this? I could feel all my blood rushed to my cheeks. I was actually touched by what Amber did. But I couldn’t help think why she did all that. No, Jessica Jung, don’t assume too much. She’s just kind to you but it doesn’t mean she likes you.

“You shouldn’t have done this. You’re all wet. Change your clothes before you get sick. It’s an order,” I told her.

“Yes, Ma’am. Drink your meds and sleep, ok?” she said before she turned her back on me to take a shower.

I tried to sleep but I couldn’t. The room was so cold even without an AC. Amber came out of the bathroom wearing a black gym shorts and plain white shirt. Gawd. She’s even handsome in that outfit. Brrrr. It was so cold. I pulled the blanket tightly.

“Are you alright, Jessica-shi?”

“Amber, you asked me that for the nth time. I told you I’m fine.” I hissed at her.

The handsome girl just smiled at me sheepishly and lay down on the other bed. “Goodnight,” she told me. “Ow! Aish. What’s that?!”

Amber’s POV

I got up from Yuri’s bed when I felt something bit me. What the hell are these ants doing here?! It seemed like a colony of ants were swarming on Yuri’s bed and I found bar of Hershey’s under the pillow. Seriously, Yuri, what’s our refrigerator for if you’re keeping food under your pillow!

“What happened?” Jessica asked me in a weak voice.

“Uh. Nothing, just ants all over Yuri’s bed,” I told her as I threw the Hershey’s bar on the trash bin.

“You want to sleep here on your bed?” she asked as she got up.

“No! No! You sleep there. You’re sick and you need some rest more than I do,” I assured her. But actually I was very tired at the moment. If only Yuri was a little more cautious, I could be sleeping soundly now.

“Just sleep beside me. The bed is big enough for us.” I was surprised by what Jessica said. She seemed serious though.

“Uh. Uhmm. It’s ok, I’ll just clean Yuri’s bed and sleep.” I won’t be able to sleep beside someone who reminds me of Krystal. Aish. Really, Amber. Stop thinking about Krystal!

Jessica moved to the right side of the bed and turned her back on me, leaving enough space for me to sleep on. “A-are y-you s-sure I could sleep here?”

She turned to me, she looked really tired. “Of course, it’s your bed anyway,” she said then turned her back on me again.

I lay down beside her and it took only a few minutes before I fell into deep slumber.

Yuri’s POV

Last night, we partied like there’s no tomorrow. Now I feel like throwing up even my intestine and gallbladder. Hangover really . My head felt like it was being cracked into two. It was 7am and I decided to take a nap before my 11am class so I went straight to the university dorm.

I wonder how Amber’s night with her friend was. I couldn’t help but laugh inside as some erted things popped up in my mind as I walk up the stairs leading to our room. Were they loud last night? I should ask the people on the room next to ours. Haha. But I’m sure Amber didn’t do it even if she had the chance. That girl was like a saint. I wonder when she would be beatified. Haha!

I unlocked the door and opened it wide. My eyes had gone wide as well. Amber on the same bed with a girl? Really? Am I dreaming? I carefully walked inside the room and looked around. My pillows were scattered on the floor and the sheets were not tucked. Woah, my friend and her girl really made a mess out of my bed. I looked at them closely; in Amber’s arms was this girl with the prettiest face I have ever seen in my entire life. The girl has a long blond hair and a face that looked like a doll. Aish. This Amber really knew how to choose. I pulled my phone and *click*. Gotcha!

Amber’s POV

I woke up as the sunlight strikes my face. Damn what time is it?! I quickly got up from my bed and went straight to the shower. Aish. I missed my 7-9am class. I took a cold shower and dressed up in grey jeans, striped shirt and leather jacket. I was about to go when I saw a note on the table.

I couldn’t help but smile when I saw a plate of eggs, bacon and French toast under the lid. My boss really knows how to be grateful. And her French toast tastes awesome too!
