They Met Again

Breaking Boundaries

A/N: Okay, let's make a time leap this time and make our characters sweat a little on the next chaps. xD

Two Years Later...

Victoria’s POV

Forever? I was more than ready to spend it with him. Our seven-year relationship went through ups and downs, through thick and thin, but we made it through. I just couldn’t wait to exchange vows with my one and only love, Nichkhun Horvejkul.

It was just three days away from the wedding day and my close friends hosted a bridal shower for me on the same night as Nichkhun went out with the guys for his stag party.

“Unnie, I still can’t believe you’re finally going to get married,” Sulli told me in her drunken voice, between pauses and hiccups. “But I’m really happy for you—

I couldn’t help but laugh when Sulli passed out on the couch for drinking too much. Luna also excused herself earlier and ran towards the rest room to throw up. My little sisters really had weak alcohol tolerance like me except for Krystal.

The little Jung was just sitting relaxed on the couch, sipping her nth glass of red wine and as usual, spacing out again, maybe thinking of the person that she preferred not to be mentioned. Amber’s name became a taboo word in Sung Jin ever since to help Krystal cope up with her heartbreak. I still couldn’t help but feel guilty that I did nothing to fix them two years ago when I had the chance.

“Krystal dear, do you want to drink another bottle with me?” I asked her before attempting to open another bottle with a corkscrew.

“I’ll just finish this, unnie. I’m tired,” she replied and faked a smile like everything’s alright. Heaven knows how many times I attempted to bring the topic up again but as usual, I hesitated and told myself that maybe it’s not the right time yet.

Where Amber is, no one really knows exactly except for Choi Minho who chose to keep his mouth shut because he believed that if his bestfriend’s relationship with Krystal was meant to be fixed, the two of them must be the one to fix it. Minho had a point there. We could do nothing but wait for Amber to come back and fix it herself.

“Do you think she will come for my wedding?” I couldn’t help but ask this time. It has always been my dream to get married in the presence of my whole family but without Amber, Sung Jin family would be incomplete. I hope Minho had forced you to come, Amber.

“I-I don’t know, unnie. I—

But before Krystal and I could continue our awkward conversation about her ex, the door flew open, revealing our diva friend Key who should be at the stag party at this very moment.  He was panting and sweating hard like he ran for a 10 km marathon.

“Kim Ki Bum, what happened?”

“N-Noona...g-girls...there were girls! One of them kissed me like—

“Oh shut up, Key. It’s just a kiss. You guys are supposed to do more than kissing anyway,” Krystal scowled in that famous y tone of hers.

“But I can’t cheat on Jonghyun! And Kim Myungsoo, he’s making out with one of the girls! Where’s Sulli?” Key looked around hysterically and got even more hysterical when he saw Sulli sleeping soundly on the couch. “Yah, Choi Jinri! How can you sleep at a time like this?! Wake up! Your boyfriend is cheating on you!”

But no matter how violent Key shook Sulli to wake her up, the drunk girl didn’t respond.

“Noona, you should come! Some girls might be flocking around Nichkhun hyung now!”

“Key, your hyung won’t cheat on me. Let those girls flirt with him. His heart is all mine anyway,” I told him confidently. We’re getting married in three days and I knew that my future husband wouldn’t break my trust.

But Key whispered something on my ear that made me change my mind completely.

“No, I can’t let those girls touch them! Krystal, you have to come with me! Let’s kill all those b*tches for laying their hands on our property!” I said, faking an angry tone this time.

“Our property?” the little ice princess just raised an eyebrow at me.

“I mean MY property! C’mon, help me drive those girls away!”

And I dragged Krystal with Key to the venue of the stag party.

Krystal’s POV

Donghae oppa brought some girls again? Can’t they just party without flirting? Aish.

I could understand why Vic unnie almost made her car flew to the venue of her fiancé’s stag party. There would be lots and lots of flirting for sure knowing that the playboy Lee Donghae was there again to bring out some b*tches. I knew he was the mastermind in Amber’s party two years ago. I almost pulled out all the hairs of that b*tch who was kissing my—

My llama? You’re not supposed to think about her again, Krystal Jung!

Yes, I decided to get over her no matter how painful it would be. But my mind and heart were just too stubborn, thinking and beating for the same person for the last two years. Not a single day would pass without me thinking of the person who left my heart broken.

I still miss you, stupid.

“Krystal, we’re here!” Key snapped me out of my thoughts about Amber and pulled me out of the car. We just reached the party’s venue and it was actually very familiar.

Rally Point? Again?

Both Key and Vic unnie were in a hurry that I was left behind, allowing me to go to the restroom and sober up. But I got pissed off when I found the restroom door locked.

“Damn it!” I cursed nonstop while banging and attempting to open the door.

“Miss, you can’t go in there!” a familiar voice yelled from behind. I was totally taken aback when I saw who the voice’s owner was. The girl had long jet black hair like mine, her face matured a little but it was still the same good-looking face that my sister went crazy for.

“Y-Yuri unnie?” I stuttered in disbelief when I realized that it was really her. She looked as startled as me when she recognized me too.

“Oh, Krystal. It’s you,” Yuri unnie uttered, wearing a different expression this time. She didn’t look as surprised as earlier and suddenly looked anxious. “The restroom is—

“Yul, I told you to drive them away.”

The restroom door flew open and my heart dropped out of my chest when it revealed the same person whose face has been painted in my mind the moment we first met. The handsome llama face that once looked so playful had changed; it looks cold and gloomy now. The slick black fringy hair turned blonde and the deep brown eyes that used to melt me with its warmth just gave me chills with its coldness instead.

Our eyes met for a while and I knew she was shocked by our first encounter in two years but I was shocked too when a hand wrapped around her waist, attempting to pull her back inside. But when Amber just stood there frozen on where she was, a girl popped up from behind and linked her arms with Amber. That’s when it registered in my brain. Amber’s black shirt was ed, her blonde hair was ruffled, and her lips were red and swollen. She looked fresh from and so was the girl whose mini skirt was even wore the wrong way.

“Jiyeon, right? I’ll treat you a drink for pleasuring my friend here,” Yuri unnie said, breaking the silence between us but the girl didn’t seem to hear it and looked at me from head to toe. I did the same and our eyes widened when we both recognized each other.

“A-Amber, I need to go. I had fun, I swear. But I can’t risk my hair again. Goodbye,” the girl named Jiyeon said fearfully and scooted away immediately. I wanted to run after her, pull her hair again and make a wig out of them but I felt Amber’s eyes on me.

You b*tch, how can you trespass my property for the second time!

“Ah, Amber. I’ll just make a call. If you need me, I’m just outside,” Yuri unnie said then turned to me. “It’s nice to see you again, Krystal.” And she left the two of us, holding each other’s gaze.

I waited for Amber to speak first but she seemed like she had no plans initiating a conversation between us so I gathered myself and attempted to make the first move.

“Krystal! Krystal!” I heard Key calling my name and before I could utter anything, the diva found me and Amber already. As expected, his eyes widened when he saw me with Amber. “You two! You made up and made out already?! That was fast!”

“I just happened to bump into her, Key. What bullsh*t are you saying?” Amber defended quickly but I felt hurt when she sounded like a different person this time.

Key seemed surprised too with Amber’s reply and turned to look at me. I just nodded and smiled forcefully as a sign of agreement with Amber’s statement. But actually, I wanted to break down and cry at the moment with the way my llama treated me.

Yes, she’s still my llama. She’s still mine. We didn’t break up last time, she’s still officially mine.

“I’ll go in first, Key,” she said but before she could escape, I held her wrist tight.

“Amber, let’s talk,” I finally spit it out. I wanted to ask her a lot of things, I wanted to explain myself for being misunderstood, I wanted to talk while kissing like we used to. But why did Amber kept giving off this vibe like she was avoiding me?

“I’ll see you guys in noona’s wedding, okay?” she replied with a cold smile before gently removing my hand off her wrist and walked away. That’s when I started shedding the tears I’ve been containing all this time. Amber treated me like we had nothing, like nothing happened.

How can she forget our love easily? Didn’t she love me as much as I love her? I’m not over her yet, how can she be over me? Amber, what happened with your love for me? *sobs*

“Don’t worry, Krys. We’ll help you out with Amber,” he assured me.

I’ll try to figure things out on my own, Key. You guys set the path for us two years ago already; I have to work hard this time. Amber Josephine Liu, you can’t get away from me anymore.

Amber’s POV

Talk? Are you insane, Krystal Jung?! How can you ask me to talk to you after breaking my heart? What if I fall in love with you again?

Fall in love AGAIN? Uh, you haven’t gotten over her.

No, I don’t love her anymore. I don’t. I don’t. I don’t. I don’t. I don’t.

Go fool yourself, Amber Liu.

“DAMN IT!” I cursed myself while driving my way home to my apartment in Gangnam. If only I knew that this would be the effect of seeing Krystal once again, I shouldn’t have gone back to Korea in the first place. I had no plans returning here anyway. It’s all Khuntoria couple’s fault!

FLASHBACK

Two days ago...

“Hey, Amber. Daeryong and Soryong are planning a foam party tonight. Shall we go and hook up the girls?” Kwon Yuri asked me in her perfect English accent.

“I have a celebratory dinner with Dr. Tapia. You know I can’t say no to him,” I replied without taking my eyes off the laptop screen. Yuri had been bugging me to hang out for a month now but I kept declining her offer. I was too busy juggling my work at our company and my remaining course load in the university.

“C’mon, Am. You’re done with your thesis; you’re graduating in a week. Ditch that adviser of yours and let’s celebrate with the girls instead.” Knowing how stubborn Yuri was, I decided to give in and accept her invitation.

“Fine, I’ll drop by after dinner.”

*knock knock*

“Come in.”

“My lord, someone’s looking for you outside,” Yixing told me in his usual formal tone and when he saw that Yuri was the only person there with me, he turned his ‘friend mode’ on. “Yiyun, he looked like a foreigner. Gawd. My nose bled when he spoke in English.”

“You should have called me to talk to that guy instead,” Yuri said boastfully. Yes, my roommate who used to in English can now speak the language fluently.

“Let him in. And you two, please go out. You guys are too noisy; I can’t concentrate on the presentation I’m working on.”

“Okay, okay. But you must show up at the party tonight or I’ll bring the party in your house,” Yuri said before leaving, followed by Yixing.

*knock knock*

“Come in!” I yelled impatiently as I clatter my fingers on the keyboard with my eyes still glued on the screen that I didn’t notice the presence of another person immediately.

“Amber Josephine Liu, we finally meet again.”

The voice made me automatically stop typing not just because it was familiar but because he spoke in Korean. And it was none other than another hyung of mine.

“Nichkhun hyung?” It was really Vic noona’s beloved boyfriend, Nichkhun Horvejkul. He might have matured a little but it was the same handsome face that Vic noona loved so much.

“I’m glad you still recognize me, Amber dongsaeng,” hyung told me with a smile.

“Why are you here, hyung? How did you find me?” I wanted to ask him a lot of questions, including some questions I wasn’t supposed to ask but I just kept them inside.

“Since the heavens really want me to be with your Vic noona forever, the gods led me to you.”

“What do you—wait, you mean you’re getting married??” My eyes widened at the realization and I became even more thrilled when he smiled and nodded. “Ohmygod, I’m so happy for you guys!” I was too excited that I attacked Nichkhun hyung for a brotherly hug.

“If you’re that happy then you should come to Korea and attend the wedding.”

Hyung’s words made me step back out of hesitation.

“I’m sorry, hyung.”

“Amber, please. Your noona won’t marry me without you,” he told me, pleading like he was asking me to spare his life. I just smiled at his stubbornness. “You know your noona. She will only marry me if all the people she wanted to be there are attending. And she wants you to come, Amber. I won’t search for you if I’m not that desperate.”

Seeing how Nichkhun hyung was being serious about it, I decided to accept his invitation. It’s the wedding of my most beloved friends, how can I say ‘no’ to them? I would definitely attend their wedding, even seeing the person I avoided these past two years was one of the major consequences.

To Kwon Yuri:

Yul, we’re not attending the foam party. We’re flying to Korea tonight.

END OF FLASHBACK

I just sighed after reminiscing how I ended up being in Korea and meeting Krystal Jung so soon. Nichkhun hyung brought me here so sudden that I didn’t even get to make myself ready. Krystal and I just met and *poof* my effort in moving on for two years just vanished.

Krystal Jung, my defense will fall apart in no time. I’ll make sure that you won’t get through it before I go back to China in two weeks.

And I admit I’m still crazily in love with you.
