Amber's Birthday II

Breaking Boundaries

Krystal’s POV

“BOYS’ NIGHT OUT?! WHY ARE YOU JUST TELLING ME THAT NOW??” I couldn’t believe that Kim Ki Bum just told me about it now. We were squeezing in Vic unnie’s car on the way to Rally Point where Amber and her close friends were already having a good time.

Two hours, we’re two hours late already! If Key just told me about the details of their exclusive boys’ night out, I could have marched straight at the venue without hesitation! But I spent an hour raiding my closet for my dress and one more hour searching for a present for that llama in the department store. If only I knew. Aish. I couldn’t stand thinking about the thought of Amber flirting while drinking with some girls by this time.

“Unnie, step on the gas, please!” I impatiently told Vic unnie.

“Relax, Krys. Amber won’t probably be making out with someone already at this time, it’s too early,” Key assured me but the scene at the noraebang when we came was saying otherwise. A b*tch was kissing my llama already! My blood boiled to the highest degree that I stomped inside the room and pulled that b*tch by the hair until she’s out of the room. How dare you kiss my Amber’s lips?! They’re all mine, b*tch! The others must be startled by what I did but I just didn’t care anymore.

“Amber Liu, you and me, OUT!” I ordered her before walking out and slamming the door. What just happened made me really furious. How dare that b*tch trespass Krystal Jung’s property?! Tss.

*beep* I opened my phone inbox to see the new message.

From Vic Unnie:

Don’t hit Amber. Treat her nicely.

Oh yeah, before I forgot, Vic unnie whispered something to me earlier before we went in.

‘I’ll help you out with Amber tonight. Just do what I tell you, arraseo?’

And I promised her that I would so I tried to calm myself down until Amber came.

“Krystal, what the hell was that?” the llama said in a gritting tone and that moment I saw clearly the lipstick marks all over her face, making me furious inside and wanting to hit him so bad. But then again, I had to follow what Vic unnie told me. I just sighed and pulled out my handkerchief to wipe the marks off her face.

“You should see yourself in the mirror. That b*tch—I mean, girl, left lipstick marks on your handsome face,” I told Amber in a fake calm tone as I wiped her face. I’ll really double kill that b*tch the next time I see her!

Amber just stood there frozen and I could feel her cold eyes on me. So you finally realize that I’m more beautiful than that girl, huh? But she looked away before I could catch her stare. I couldn’t help but smile inside; we acted like high school kids having a mutual crush, stealing and catching glances at each other.

“There you go, you’re more handsome now,” I told Amber with a sweet smile after her face got all cleaned up, leaving no trace of that b*tch’s lips on it. “Happy birthday, Amber,” I greeted her before moving my face closer to hers. As I got closer and closer, the llama’s eyes got wider and wider but I was just actually teasing her and ended up giving her a cheek-to-cheek instead.

“Th-thanks,” she stuttered, still with wide eyes when I pulled back. “Uhmm. Shall we go back?” the llama said shyly without meeting my eyes and opened the door for me, leading me in.

Vic unnie’s advice seems effective. Maybe I can tame the llama before the night ends. Yay!

Amber’s POV

Boyfriend? Maybe she was referring to Choi Minho but just dragged the wrong girl out of the room? Yeah, Amber. It’s just like that. Don’t assume too much.

When Krystal bolted out of the room angrily, I had no plans following her. But seeing Vic noona’s threatening eyes on me, I was left with no choice but to go. Fine, I’ll follow her. Just don’t tell her our secret, noona. And I walked out, expecting an extremely furious Krystal ready to kill me for allowing some girl to touch my bestfriend.

But instead of grilling me, she just gently wiped my face with her hanky like she’s not angry at all. I found Krystal’s gesture weird, knowing what she could do when her jealousy strikes. She should have killed me for purposely bringing Minho here, but she didn’t. I just stood there frozen as she cleaned me up; every touch of hers made my heart pump more blood. Yes, my heart was fluttering like crazy at Krystal’s concerned act that left me frozen on where I was. Aish. Move, Amber! Move! But my body seemed to do otherwise.

“There you go, you’re more handsome now. Happy birthday, Amber,” Krystal told me as her face moved closer to mine. Oh no, my efforts would be wasted. Don’t kiss me please. But why did I feel frustrated when she just gave me a cheek-to-cheek like what a normal friend does? Stupid Amber Liu, how can your ex-girlfriend kiss you after break up? She’s Minho’s now. Stupid stupid! And I just invited Krystal in before I start losing my mind.

“You guys are really something. How can you freely flirt with other girls knowing that one of you already had a girlfriend?” Vic noona crossed her arms and scolded the four of us who were sitting like behaved kindergarten students, trembling hands on our laps, our heads bowed down. Noona could get scary sometimes, even scarier than Krystal. “Lee Donghae! How can you let your dongsaengs play around like that?! Is this your idea?!”

“Y-Yah, i-it’s not mine. The g-girls just came y-you know,” Donghae hyung, known for his confidence and bold personality, stuttered for the first time that I couldn’t help but be amazed at Vic noona. He’s lying, noona. He purposely brought the girls in. But I wouldn’t say it though since I benefitted from his naughty idea and had a good time with Jiyeon too.

“Enough of that, noona. Let’s pull out our surprise,” Kim Ki Bum said and signalled the girls to come up at the centre including Krystal. What the hell are these girls up to? They seemed to be doing some posing or something until...

“Ayo Amber!” It was Krystal and that familiar line. My jaw dropped when I heard the song being played, it was I Got a Boy, and the girls started dancing to the beat of it. My eyes seemed too stuck at Krystal as she danced gracefully, watching every dazzling move of her; she really was one hell of a good dancer. And when she did Sunny’s part including the same cutesy act, I couldn’t help but grab something tightly out of too excitement.

“Yah, Amber. I-I can’t breathe,” Taemin said whose head was being locked in my arms at the moment. But I was too into Krystal that I didn’t care about anything anymore; I just continued watching her in full amazement. Her gracefulness, every move of her y hips, that teasing aegyo of hers, I loved everything about her. And when she caught me looking at her, she winked at me playfully with those crystal eyes which I thought were only meant giving off cold glares.

“Damn, Krystal. Do you really want to kill me?” I mumbled silently.

“Damn, Amber. Do you really want to kill me too?” Taemin complained when I tightened my headlock on him.

“Oh Oh Oh Eh Oh Oh Oh Eh Oh Neo michyeosseo michyeosseo!”

Minho and Donghae hyung sang along and clapped their hands as the song came to an end. The girls ended their dance with a loud ‘Happy birthday, Amber!’ and each of them started walking towards me, greeting me with a hug. And when it was Krystal’s turn, she just greeted me then sat between Key and Sulli. Where’s my birthday hug, Krystal Jung?! Aish.

“You girls really danced so well, especially you, Krys,” I heard Choi Minho said while walking towards them, sitting beside Key. “Why don’t you go drink with the other guys, Key?” my bestfriend told the diva who seemed to easily pick up what he meant and dragged Sulli’s hand towards the other side of the table, leaving Minho and Krystal alone. I couldn’t help but feel jealous at the sight that I just concentrated in drinking my beer.

“Amber, can we order more beers?” Donghae hyung asked before downing his bottle empty.

“Yeah, order all you want. Drink all you can, sky is the limit,” I replied weakly and drank my beer straight. The others were having fun singing and dancing at the centre while I just continued drinking. How can I play around like them when my ex-girlfriend and my bestfriend looked like they’re having on their own? Then I’ll just have fun drinking here. Tss.

Then I felt Vic noona’s presence beside me. “Alcohol isn’t the solution, Amber,” she whispered, I just replied with a faint smile and poured more beer. “Do you really want to get drunk?”

“I won’t probably get drunk. I just feel like going home right now,” I answered. I can’t take seeing Minho and Krystal together; it hurts me too much. Just leave, Amber. And maybe get drunk somewhere else. I took out my wallet and gave my credit card to Vic noona. “Take care of everything with this, noona. Enjoy the night,” I told her before tucking my wallet back and stood up but she pulled my hand to stop me.

“You can’t leave unless you really want me to tell Krystal about your fake amnesia,” she threatened me and I sulked back on my seat. You shouldn’t have told her about it, Amber. Now you’re being blackmailed! “How about let’s see who’s a better drinker between you and me?”

I just smirked at her silly idea. “Of course I’m better than you,” I boasted.

“Prove it then,” she challenged me and pushed our glasses of beer away and replaced them with two bottles of soju. “If you win, I’ll shut up. If you lose, I’ll tell Krystal about it. No beers, just soju. Game?” she told me with that evil smile of hers.

“There’s no point playing along, you’re going to tell her soon anyway. I don’t know what’s taking you so long when you can always tell her,” I scowled.

“I promised you didn’t I? I always keep my promise, kiddo.” Yes, she promised that she wouldn’t tell Krystal unless I tell her. “C’mon, let’s just drink, you’re no fun. Or perhaps you’re afraid to be defeated by this weak noona of yours?” she teased me.

“Hell no! Bring it on!” No, I couldn’t let her think that she’s better than me. She wouldn’t defeat the soju god Amber Liu anyway; I would never let her. Never!

Victoria’s POV

Maybe the others were too busy doing their own stuffs that they didn’t seem to notice the competition between Amber and me. We just finished our first bottle and going on for the second one but my head started to feel heavy already. I admit, I have low alcohol tolerance but I had to do this for the sake of Krystal’s relationship with this hard-headed kiddo. Everything didn’t go well between these kids lately and I had to do something to make them up. They’re still in love with each other; it’s too obvious in the way they look but these fools don’t seem to realize it.

“Noona, are you giving up this early?” Amber teased me in a half-drunk tone.

“Of course not,” I denied before drinking the rest of the soju. Aigoo. I can’t see things clearly anymore. Please get drunk soon, Amber. “You should be happy for them, kid,” I told her, referring to Minho and Krystal.

There’s no other way to win this soju game but to make Amber’s heart suffer a little. I could see the strike of pain in her cold dark eyes as she watched her bestfriend with Krystal and *poof* Amber emptied her second bottle and hurriedly opened her third.

Haha! It looks like I’ll win this game for you, Krystal dear.

Krystal’s POV

I couldn’t understand exactly what Vic unnie was planning for us but I just trusted everything what she told me. First, treat Amber nicely. Second, make Amber jealous. Choi Minho was talking about stupid things and I just pretended to laugh like enjoying his company as compliance to Vic unnie’s second order. I wonder what could be the third.

From Vic unnie:

Call a taxi and wait for me outside. I’ll be there in ten minutes.

“I’ll just go to the restroom,” I told Minho and excused myself. What the hell is Vic unnie up to? But I just went out of the pub and waited for a taxi. After ten minutes, a taxi pulled in front of me. “Just a minute, ahjushi,” I told the driver. Now where the hell is she?

“Krys! Help! This dinosaur is damn heavy.” I was surprised to see Kim Ki Bum and Vic unnie, walking out of the pub carrying the unconscious llama. Vic unnie who seemed to be drunk to went straight to open the taxi door and pushed Amber inside.

“Here’s the address, type in your name to unlock the door,” she told me with a wink then handed me a piece of paper.

“What the—

“Just go and enjoy the night!” Kim Ki Bum told me and pushed me inside the car beside Amber. I was still surprised by their set up but thankful at the same time.

“Drive to this address, ahjushi,” I told the driver and we hit the road. The handsome llama was sleeping soundly on my lap now and I could feel her breath on my legs, giving me goosebumps. I decided to send Vic unnie a message of gratitude but I received one from her first.

From Vic Unnie:

Amber remembers you, dear. Just make her spill it right from her own lips. ;)

Ha! So you’re faking amnesia, huh? Get yourself ready, Amber Liu. I’ll remind you again of who I am.

I dragged my llama out of the taxi then towards the elevator. Amber sure was heavy that I used up all my efforts to pull her. The elevator door was about to close when some short haired blonde danshin wearing a face mask entered the lift too and pushed button number 6, the same floor as Amber’s.

“Passed out after drinking?” the girl asked and I just replied with a nod. The girl’s milky white skin was so flawless that I wondered what her secret is to maintain it.

“Oh oh oh eh oh oh oh eh oh,” the llama mumbled in her sleep.

“Omo, a drunk Sone,” I heard the blonde girl, who was about to enter the other room, said and walked towards us. “Do you need help?” she told me and I just let her help me pull the llama inside the apartment.

“Wah, so handsome,” she said the moment we settled Amber on the bed. “Is she an SNSD fan?”

“Yeah, she’s kinda crazy over that penguin Sunny,” I scowled as the memory of Amber fanboying over Sunny in Busan came across my mind.

“Chincha?” the girl’s eyes widened and just nodded slowly. “Do you have a pen?”

A pen all of a sudden? Aish.

Without further questions, I just picked a black pen from my bag and handed it to her; she wrote something on a piece of paper and posted it on the mirror across Amber’s bed. This girl is really weird. I walked towards the mirror to read what she wrote but I was surprised to see the reflection of the girl, taking off her face mask for a while and stole a kiss on Amber’s cheek.

“YAH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” But the girl already scooted out of the door. Aish. Why do you have to be so adorable, you llama? Even a stranger kisses you! Tss.

I jumped beside Amber and gently touched her face. My heart yearned for this for so long. I missed you so much, Amber. Please wake up and sober up so we can talk.

“Krystal, I love you.”  I couldn’t help but smile at what the llama uttered in her asleep.

“I love you too, you idiot,” I replied with a giggle. As if she could hear me.

“Krystal, kiss me,” again Amber uttered. I wonder if she’s dreaming about me right now. Hihi.

I had waited for so long to kiss Amber once again and so I did. It was supposedly just a peck but Amber’s lips started to move too, returning my kisses this time.

“Hmm. Baby, wake up,” I murmured between our lips. I hope Amber wakes up soon so we can talk.

“I’m awake, babe.”

I was surprised when she replied between our breaths before pinning me under her. The idiot was smiling sweetly with her cold and weary eyes all over my face. “You’re gonna pay for driving Sunny away,” Amber said before capturing my full lips again. Sunny? Where’s Sunny? No, it can’t be.

“Hmm. That girl just now was Sunny?” I asked without parting my lips from hers. I didn’t know talking while kissing would be so exciting. *giggles* Gawd, the taste of soju on her lips was really intoxicating.

“Yep, she’s my neighbour,” Amber replied but pulled off from our kiss. “Gawd. She kissed me! I can die in peace now, Krys!” the llama said in an annoyingly excited tone.

“Don’t tell me you’re awake all this time?” I glared at her.

“No, just woke up when I felt Sunny’s soft lips on my cheek,” the blushing llama replied. And you really dared reminding me about that, Amber Liu?!

“Stupid! You will really die in peace within my hands this time! How can you be such a good actor?!” I retorted. The llama had fooled me twice with her convincing acting. Damn it!

“No, you have to pay first for driving her away,” Amber said seductively before starting to her long sleeves polo and throwing it at the floor.

“Amber, let’s talk first before anything—

I couldn’t continue anymore when the llama crawled back on top of me and kissed me passionately.

“You love talking while kissing, babe. Let’s just do that,” Amber said between our kisses.

I know right.
