The reward
Seungyeon's KnightsJoong ki pov:
There I was at the inn pouring myself a drink again, I couldn’t believe how pathetic I was. Why was I even doubting Seungyeon…didn’t I know her well enough.
-Flash back-
Earlier, I was at home arguing with my father about the marriage to the crown princess.
“Abeonim! I told you I won’t marry someone I don’t love.”
“This unfilial son!” my father said, smashing his fist on the table making the teacup on it shake vigorously.
“Won’t you do it even if it’s just for your father’s sake?”
“Abeonim….it’s MY marriage! It’s about ME! What does it have to do with you.”
“You idiot! All I have done my whole life was for you! What will you do when I die? You are the next head of the Song family! How can you only think of yourself…”
My father sighed. “A marriage is like a business deal….you do what gives you the best outcome….all these talk about love and feelings…those are for females! You are a man, so act like one!”
I sighed as I turned away from my father.
He never understood me…maybe I was more like my mother.
Because I definitely were not one bit like my father.
“I can’t talk to you anymore.” I said, walking towards the door.
“If you walk away from this!....if you walk away from this marriage…don’t you call me your father again.” He finished, as I took a deep breath and stepped out of the room.
-end of flashback-
I took a deep breath as I poured the colorless alcohol into my cup.
Talking to my father was so stifling I could hardly breathe when I was talking to him in his room.
And then there was the crown princess…..
“"She isn't what she seems, she just acts very well...” what she said before echoed in my head.
“Aiishhh!!” I sighed frustratedly and lifted the cup to down it but at that moment someone grabbed the cup from me.
I stared up at the person angrily wondering who it was…it was Shi yoon.
“Tsk tsk tsk…..are you gonna get so drunk and fall sick again like the other time!” he said downing the cup of alcohol and sitting on the chair beside me.
“Yah…” I started.
“I don’t wanna carry you heavy body all the way back to your house again.” Shi yoon said.
“Shhiii….” I hissed at him as I took the soju bottle up to pour another glass.
“You’re not drinking any tonight.” Shi yoon said, wrestling the bottle from my hands.
“Yahh….what does me drinking have to do with you!” I protested.
Shi yoon sighed. “Chingu ya…I’m just looking out for you.” He said resting his hand on my shoulder.
“With all that’s happening….you must be so frustrated you feel like dying..”
“How’s the case?” I asked, lowering my hands in defeat.
Shi yoon sighed. “I don’t know if I should tell you.”
“What…tell me.” I demanded, I had enough bad news for the day to last me until tomorrow.
“Your father….” Shi yoon said, lowering the cup and looking at me.
“Has he been acting strange lately…do you notice anything amiss?” he asked.
I frowned, what did he mean.
“No…”
“He’s involved with the disappearance of the princess…I saw him myself when I went to capture the last assassin.”
“But…why?” I blinked in disbelief.
Shi yoon shrugged. “Power? Money...? Who knows.”
My dad…..why….
“Chingu ya…I’m just telling you this b
