A Mischievous MarriageChapter nine: I'm troublesome
I return home with the birthday cake, resting on the desk near my bed. I don’t think anyone has actually sincerely baked me a cake before, at least never on my birthday. Except, why was it dumped outside the house?
I carefully cut a slice of the cake and place it onto my plate. I scoop up a fair bit, my tongue spazzing over the delicacy. Oh my god, this cake actually tastes really, really good. It’s vanilla flavour! It’s my favourite!
My taste buds dance around and I can only think of one person in mind. Ka Eun obviously made this, and for me, because I’m y. I wonder what she was thinking at the time, the Han Jaejoon who entered her life three years ago from boredom, or Kim Jaejoong, her fiancé?
♙Ka Eun’s P.O.V
28th of January, two days since that stupid birthday cake and two days since I last saw him, seventeen days before my wedding day, seventeen days until the actual thing all starts. The past two days have been really slow, no friends, just me, alone in the room or just randomly enjoying some spas.
I still have no contacts on my phone.
‘Miss Sun Hee,’ the maid politely calls, ‘a friend is here to see you.’ A friend? I leap off my bed, and walk outside, is it the ?‘Hey Ka Eun.’
‘Oh, Yoochun-ssi.’
‘Don’t have to add that ‘ssi’ do you?’ I smile, he’s so friendly. I clutch my phone tightly to my chest, should I ask for his number or is that just too forward and awkward? He laughs.‘I’ll give you my contact details.’I hand him my phone as he taps the screen.
‘Here.’ I stare at the phone screen, ‘My first friend, Park Yoochun.’ I read, ‘you seriously made your name that?’
‘Well, aren’t I your friend you can call?’
‘I guess so, so why did you visit today?’
‘Just wondering if you wanted to go out and have some fun with us.’
‘Define, us.’
‘There’s Changmin, Yunho, Junsu and… Jaejoong.’ He smiles. Sometimes he just smiles too much.
‘So where are you guys going anyway?’
‘Uh…the theme park.’ I didn’t expect them to go to the theme park. I really can’t imagine joong on a rollercoaster, or spinning around in those tiny teacups. What the hell…‘Oh okay, so like where did you guys go yesterday for his birthday?
‘Ahh, he didn’t invite you… we just went for a picnic at a really pretty park.’WHAT? Him… picnic?? With his rich as friends? There’s so many things that I thought he’d enjoy like clubbing, social parties, hot girls and maybe drugs… I’m sure he’s that type of person.‘Oh… well he didn’t invite me because I’m not a special person. Heh.’ I manage to laugh.
‘Hey, how about I take you to the theme park right now?’
‘Will he kill me if he sees me?’
‘Why would he kill you?’
‘Because I don’t think he likes me or maybe I’m just not welcomed…’ I blankly speak. Of course, in fact he doesn’t dislike me, he hates me. ‘I’m scared so I guess I will just stay home.’ I add, making up a legitimate excuse to escape the raging Hell of being with joong. It’s okay you know! Just come!’ He says, and with that he drags my arm and leads me into his car. ‘There is no escaping from your fiancé.’
With that, we arrive at the entrance. I take a glance at joong’s friends all standing together, as if attempting to create the Great Wall of China, or the Great wall of Korea.‘What are you doing here?’ He asks, glaring at me while I look up at him, surprised by the casual clothes he’s wearing. ‘I was invited, thank you very much.’ I hastily say, ignoring his stupid glance with his long eyes.
‘I invited her, Jaejoong-ah, why do you always have to brush away your fiancé all the time?’ Yoochun says. ‘It’s not my fault she’s ing annoyi- I mean, y. What if I can’t control my hormones, that’ll be embarrassing.’ He sarcastically says. The five of them have a conversation together and I just awkwardly stand there. Well, well, isn’t this a magnificent chance to escape?
I turn my head side to side, hoping that I won’t get caught running away. I feel like going on the rollercoaster in the distance. It looks so interesting, yet scary. I can’t wait to hug onto the pole and scream like a retarded loser with no friends.
In fact… I really do have no friends.
♘Jaejoong’s P.O.V
‘Your fiancé is a pretty one.’ Changmin says.
‘Oh please, you don’t have to flatter her that much, just because I’m here.’
‘She really is pretty though!’ Junsu says, in the middle of nowhere. ‘Yeah Jaejoong, she looks gorgeously innocent.’ Yunho adds. ‘Argh, I’m serious, I don’t care if you don’t think she’s pretty. Like, it’s not like I’ll be mad or anything.’ Yoochun places his hand on my shoulder, ‘Jaejoong, perhaps she really is good-looking. Why must you always try to wipe away the compliments about her? Do you really not like her?’
‘It’s a long story.’ I bluntly reply. Remember, this marriage is meant to be a secret from the world, no one is meant to know anything about it. At the same time, I kind of regret even agreeing with her, I swear I’m going to get no freedom.
Wait.
I do! She’s an artificial wife. She definitely will not be the one bossing me around and telling me what to do, who is she? Just that typical Yoon- Ahn Ka Eun. ‘Eh, where did she go?’ Junsu asks, looking blankly around at the sea of people. Isn’t she just standing behind us and listening to our conversation because she has no friends? I
