Chapter seven: Final decision

After I get married with Kim joong I have to officially live with him, don’t I? Why didn’t I think about all this before, I don’t feel like living with him… but the agreement we made, it’s all too late isn’t it? Oh well, I don’t care anymore.

‘Yah, , you already had a few days rest from your stupid fever, I think you should wake up now to talk to the parents.’ joong urges, barging into my room as if there’s no tomorrow.

‘I’m tired.’

‘I don’t care, I’m even tired, why do I always have to wake up early to go to the Ahn household, why can’t you wake up early to go to my Kim household. God damnit, appreciate what I do for you.’

‘I’m tired.’ I repeat, completely ignoring him. I close my eyes peacefully as my mind is at the entrance to dream land, but then it's like it closes as soon as his words awake me. ‘Fine, I’m going home. No marriage, you’re backing out bye.’

‘No!! I’m not backing out, I’m a very competitive person.’

‘Unattractive too.’

‘Why are you so mean to me? You’re the one who looks like a hammerhead shark.’

‘Yeah, I'm a shark so what? I can gobble you up, in fact if I wasn't a human and a shark, you would be the first person I'll attack, like I will literally eat you up... I mean I can do so as a human too but.. okay forget it just- would you just hurry and wake the up?!’ He yells, dragging my arm, causing me to tumble off the bed. Honestly, I was just waiting for him to finish his one hell of a weird comeback as well as retarded ual references that I won't even bother putting any thought into.

I get up and push him out the door. ‘Fine, just get out and let me get changed.’

‘Fantastic, fantastic! Now we’ll have to pick a good date for you two to get married.’ Mr Kim exclaims, smiling like an extremely friendly shark.‘It’s the 20th of January today, winter has just started, how about they get married on the 4th of February? You know, two representing the two of them and four representing forever!’ My mother suggests.

‘No no no no no, 4th of February is a sign of bad luck! How about the 29th of February, it’s a leap year this year isn’t it? Such a rare anniversary date!’ Mrs Kim suggests.‘NO! Because then it means they can only have an official anniversary date once every four years.’ My father logically says.

I won’t even be married to him for that long so I guess it doesn’t matter. I can’t even open my mouth to speak up, the room is basically just filled with large chit chats of the correct date to get married.‘Nawh Ka Eun, they’re taking things so seriously, and then on the day when you file a divorce, everyone will be so disappointed in you!’ joong dangerously whispers in my ear.

‘Shut up, you’re going to  be the one filing a divorce.’

‘You know it babe, you’re going to be the one fed up, not me. I already told you that you’d regret it.’

I ignore him, violently stomping on his foot with my high heels.‘F-’ Jaejoong curses, his eyes so watery on the verge of some tears, see look, he’s so weak.‘My Jaejoong baby, are you alright?’ Mrs Kim asks, coming over to him and caressing his cheeks. ‘Nothing’s wrong right?’

‘Yeah, nothing, I’m so excited about the wedding, I might cry from happiness!’ He says, leaning on my shoulder with his huge shark head.‘Look at them youngsters, they’re so cute already!’ My mother exclaims, she looks like she’s fan girling over the two of us.

‘Yes future mother-in-law, we’re fated to be together, simply love at first sight!’

For some reason I strongly recommend the 14th of February, you do realise that’s also Valentine’s day yeah?’ Mrs Kim suggests.‘Why didn’t I think of that earlier??
