Be My Girl?

The Heartbreaker's Game

As soon as the house was quiet, Lay got up from bed and snuck out. It was a good thing that Kris was such a deep sleeper so he wouldn’t notice he was gone and hopefully Lay would be back before morning. He sighed, shaking his head at the task Lu Han asked him to do.

He walked down the hall to the Main Hall. The minions were all taking a break and were nowhere to be seen so he easily slipped inside the pothole. He pressed the buttons, typing the information he needed to type to get him to his destination. Five seconds later, he was standing in the middle of what seemed to be an ordinary living room.

He looked to his right and saw a door slightly ajar. That must be where Lu Han is. So Lay walked over to the door. He paused by the doorway to see Lu Han gently singing a Chinese song while the girl’s hair as he slept. He stood there and watched for awhile. Lu Han had this expression on his face Lay couldn’t make out. But it looked like there was more than meets the eye.

He cleared his throat and Lu Han looked up tiredly. “Hi, Yixing,” he smiled. “Thanks for coming at such a late notice.”

“What do you need me for, gege?” Lay asked, coming over to where the two of them were. He pulled out a chair and sat on it.

Lu Han gestured toward the girl. “I hope you can cure hangovers. She has no tolerance for alcohol,” Lu Han explained and sighed, shaking his head.

“I am guessing you took her out for a drink?” he presumed.

Lu Han shook his head. “Haven’t you been keeping up with the Game?” he asked his younger friend.

Lay shook his head. “Ever since we all found out about you and Exo-K’s representative fighting for the same girl, dui zhang and Suho hyung had moved all of us to watch in the Hall. Of course sometimes we get bored so the rest of us usually sneak out to the Play Room and have fun.”

Lu Han tilted his head in confusion. “By ‘the rest of us’ you mean . . .?”

“Exo-K and Exo-M.”

“Wow.” He let a low whistle.  “So, what, you guys are all getting chummy and what not? Soon you guys would call yourselves ‘best friends’?”

Lay shrugged. “They’re really nice,” he argued.

Lu Han rapped his head with his knuckle. “Have you forgotten that there’s still the Heartbreaker’s Game? Even if you guys are friends, so what? Next year one of you will have to compete with them and you’re not allowed to have any friendliness between Exo-K and Exo-M.” Lu Han shook his head. “Do you think that dui zhang and Suho hyung” — he said it in a sarcastic way — “will forget about the Game and everyone can live a happy-ever-after? In case you have forgotten, they have been rivals for a very long time and something like this is not going to change their minds about each other. They will not care if you guys are all friends.”

Lay shot him a withering look. “You know,” he snapped back, “when people are in love, they tend to be much nicer, not meaner,” he said in Chinese.

“What in love? What nonsense?” Lu Han protested back in Chinese as well. “I’m not in love. Since when? LIES.”

“First sign of being in love, in denial.”

“And you’re insane.” He looked back at Eun Hae. “So, can you cure her of her hangover? Like, take it away so tomorrow she doesn’t get a massive headache. She has school tomorrow. After being suspended for two weeks, if she hears that she’s not fit enough to go to school, she’s going to be really depressed. I don’t want to see her upset.” He looked up to see Lay smiling smugly at him. “I do not love her!” he retorted indignantly.

Eun Hae stirred a bit by his loud voice. As Lay watched, one of her singlet’s strap fell, leaving her shoulder bare. He felt his jump and he’s not supposed to do anything to her. He looked at Lu Han who just casually placed it back in the right position. He frowned. “Don’t you feel tempted to do anything?” he wanted to know.

Lu Han grimaced and nodded. Lay sighed with relief. At least he was still sane. “Are you kidding? It’s all I’m doing from trying to take her here and now,” he replied. He sighed and gave him a wry smile. “She’s not wearing a bra either.”

Lay’s eyes popped out and he immediately looked at her chest — but Lu Han was already covering it up with her blanket. Lu Han glared at him. “Yah, where the hell do you think you are looking at?” he reprimanded.

“Why are you so protective? It’s not like we’ve never had a before — ow!”

Lu Han had levitated a book and it smacked against his head. “I better not hear any of this coming from your mouth anymore or else I will wash your mouth clean with soap,” he threatened the younger man.

Lay nodded feebly and turned to leave. Lu Han might look innocent and like a kid, but one thing about is that he always keep his promises and Lay doesn’t want to stick around long enough to wait for his mouth to be clean by soap.

He’s out of here!

“Where do you think you’re going?” Lu Han demanded to know. He held his hand and poor Lay came right back into the room.

“Away from you,” Lay mumbled half-heartedly.

“Aren’t you supposed to get rid of Eun Hae’s hangover and stuff?”

“Right.” Lay came back and smiled weakly at him. He placed a hand on Eun Hae’s head, closing his eyes to concentrate. A few minutes later he opened his eyes and shuddered. “Yuck, I can taste the beer and I could feel her wooziness. I’m out of here.”  Lay began walking out of the door. “Bye, gege! Play nice.”

“Yah, wait!”

Lay turned and something smacked his face. Startled, he held his hands out and the object fell onto his hands. It was Chen’s camera. “You want me to give it back to him?” he called to Lu Han.

“Yeah.”

He smirked. “Mmm, do I get to her then?” He quickly ran away when he saw knives coming in his direction. “I’m outta here!” He quickly got in the pothole and was soon back in Exo. He snuck back inside the dorm and breathed easily when he saw that everyone was still fast asleep. He put the camera beside Chen before he climbed back in bed. He smiled to himself.

Good luck trying to break the heart of the girl you’re in love with, gege.

Eun Hae’s POV

The next morning, I woke up to see Lu Han blinking down at me. I paused, disorientated for a moment, before I groaned as I remembered the previous night’s event. I nearly had with Zico.

“Oh crap! I nearly had with Zico!”

Lu Han raised an eyebrow. “Nice to hear that as the first words out of your mouth in front of a guy who pretends to be your boyfriend.”

I scowled. “I never asked you to pretend to be my boyfriend as well,” I snapped.

“Would you prefer I’m actually really your boyfriend?”

I pushed him away and nearly fell on the floor if he had not caught me on time. I frowned and paused, thinking. “I was drinking last night.” When he nodded, I went on, “and I know that I was really drunk. So how come I don’t have any hangover?”

“Trust me, it’s not something that you want to experience,” he muttered.

I shot out of my bed. “Omo, I’ve got school!” I rushed inside the bathroom to get ready but I could have sworn I heard him chuckling.

Whatever.

The moment I was done, I walked out in my uniform. My bed was already made. Lu Han smiled when he saw me. He hugged me. “Good luck,” he said.

Ding dong!

His eyes went wide with surprise. “But you’re not working anymore!” he protested. “Why is he still walking you?” He shook his head.

I shrugged and went out of the door to see Kai smiling at me. “I came to walk you to school,” he announced.

Lu Han scowled and sighed. “Have fun,” he muttered.

I gave him a hug before I followed Kai out. He wanted to walk so we walked. I was feeling a bit bemused. Normally he’d just teleport us since it was the fastest way. I wonder why he now wanted to walk. As soon as we left the building, he turned to me. “How are you?”

I nodded. “I’m fine,” I replied. My mind was still a bit fuzzy about last night but thankfully I don’t have a hangover. I wonder why. My mind was still fuzzy from last night. All I remember was kissing Zico and then being carried back home by Lu Han. Oh and the vomit.

Definitely the vomit.

I conked out after that. I cannot believe I was stupid enough to fall for that trick. Zico was sly and sneaky. But incredibly hot and y. Oh gosh.

Suddenly Kai took my hand and I blinked, surprised at this. Normally he’d keep his hands to himself. Why is he suddenly holding my hand?

“Eun Hae.”

I stopped walking and turned to him. “Neh?”

He leaned forward and kissed me softly on the lips. I didn’t have time to react before he placed his hands on my waist and pulled me close, dipping me for a deeper kiss. His lips were so soft, so gentle, yet persistent at the same time. Then he pulled away. He blushed and looked down. “I know I haven’t known you for very long and we’ve only been on one date,” he started to say.

I was filled with a mixture of happiness and dread. I was happy because, well, I was flattered that he liked me since I do sort of like him back. But I was also filled with dread because of Daeseul. I can tell that she really likes him.

“But . . .” he went on, “will you be my girlfriend?”

No, no, no! This isn’t supposed to be happening! Why? Why? First Yongguk, then Lu Han, then Zico and now Kai? Why? Why me? Why is this happening to me all the time? Why not Daeseul? She’s going to hate me.

“Kai Oppa . . . what about Daeseul?” I asked. “I mean, you guys went out on a date and she really likes you and . . .” I trailed off when I saw the look on his face.

“She likes me?” When I nodded, he in his cheek. “Aish, it wasn’t my intention to have led her on,” he muttered. He looked at me. “I’m sorry about this,” he said sincerely. “I know it’ll be hard for you but please  . . . it’s you I like. And I really like you a lot. Just think about it,” he added as I opened my mouth to protest.

“Hey, guys!”

We turned to see Daeseul. I jumped away from Kai. “Daeseul, hi! How are you?” I asked a little bit too enthusiastic.

Daeseul raised an eyebrow at the both of us. But then she hugged Kai and he awkwardly gave her an one-arm hug. “I enjoyed last night,” she said. She turned to me and wagged a finger. “We’ve got some talking to do.”

I groaned, knowing she was referring to Lu Han. I turned to Kai who hugged me, leaning down to whisper into my ears, “Think about it,” before straightening up and walked away.

I turned to Daeseul. What am I going to do? What am I going to say? She’s going to hate me for doing this. I mean, I’ll admit. I do like Kai. Maybe more than Changjo but I don’t like him as much as Lu Han. Lu Han, I’m definitely sure I like him a lot. The only problem is that I don’t know how he feels about me. He’s always playing around with my feelings. One minute he acts sincere like he actually cares about me and the next he’s goofing around.

“Eun Hae!” I turned to her and she smiled. “So, who was the boy who carried you off last night?” she wanted to know. “You didn’t tell me you had a boyfriend.”

I blushed. Right, that stupid Lu Han said he was my boyfriend. See what I mean when I say he messes with my mind? “He’s not my boyfriend.” Reluctantly, I told her how I met with Lu Han. I left out the part where he and Kai know each other and that he’s actually an alien. “But, really, he’s not my boyfriend.”

“I think he likes you.” She winked at me as we continued walking to school. “Anyway, you know, I was wondering when the next time Kai Oppa asks me out for a date will be.”

Dread filled my stomach again. What am I going to do? I don’t want to hurt her. If she knew what he asked earlier, she’d hate me. But if I keep it quiet, she’ll hate me more.

Arrgh, ottoke?

Lu Han’s POV

Does Eun Hae not remember what she said when she told me she was in love with me last night? She was drunk, after all. I guess she wouldn’t remember.

I sighed, looking at the clock, wondering if she made it to school safely.

Eun Hae’s POV

“And I was thinking . . . should I ask him to the dance?” Daeseul continued.

“Daeseul.” I stopped in my tracks and held her by her shoulders, making her face me.

She stopped, startled. “What is —?”

“Kai Oppa asked me to be his girlfriend,” I blurted out.

Daeseul’s face went from stunned, to confusion, to anger. “B – Bwoh?” She looked at me. “But you know how I feel about him. Eun Hae, how could you?”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heee. Anyone miss me? xD
Uh-oh! Lay believes Lu Han is in love with Eun Hae, who doesn't remember confessing to him the night before, and Kai asked her out and she's tempted to say yes except Daeseul is in the picture. And she told her too. ._.
Hahahah! This story is too dramatic ._.
Chapter 10: I like that she does not let YongGuk disrespect her but I'm a little annoyed as in how easy she let LuHan convince her and be as rude as YongGuk is (without the ual harrassment of course) and let it slide.
