Chapter 14 (Can't think of a title :3)

The Heartbreaker's Game

Daeseul’s POV

The guy, Kai, seemed to be like a friendly person. He told me that he’d been traveling around the world and knew how to speak several languages, showing off some examples. He was funny and he was cool. Plus, he was also very cute. If Eun Hae was here, she’d like him too.

In fact, I enjoyed talking to him that I was sad when I had to go back to school since lunch was nearly over.

Kai smiled as he walked to me school. What a sweet guy. We stopped by at the entrance. “Anyway, I hope I can see you again,” he told me genuinely. “I like talking to you. You’re funny and interesting.”

I blushed. “Anniyo.”

“You are.”

I smiled. “Well, my school ends at two. Why don’t we meet up at the coffee shop again?” I suggested, hoping he would say yes. I really wanted to see him again.

His eyes lit up brightly and nodded his head. “I’ll see you at two o'clock, then,” he said sweetly. “It was nice to meet you, Daeseul. Have a good day in school!”

Reluctantly I walked inside the building, ignoring the whispers around me that was stirring up by people who had seen the two of us. All I could think about was what a perfect guy Kai is.

Perfect for Eun Hae.

She needs someone who’s funny, who’ll make her laugh, who is kind and considerate and someone who’s good-looking. Kai is all. He could be good for her.

Kai’s POV

I went back to the coffee shop and saw a ‘help wanted’ sign. Since I don’t have anything else to do while Daeseul would be in school, I decided to ask about the job offer. After a few minutes, I got the job.

I smiled to myself. I could earn a few cash and take her out on a few dates, have her falling over for me and hopefully get in her pants to win the game. As I wandered around the streets, waiting for Daeseul’s school to let out.

I smiled to myself, remembering the way Daeseul had laughed at my jokes, smiled warmly at me, and how she seemed to feel comfortable around me even though I was just a stranger to her. At this rate, if I continue to get to know her better and be a ‘close’ friend, maybe I can also get her to fall in love with me. If only I had the power to make anyone fall for me instead of teleportation.

As I strolled down the streets, I felt my watch buzzing and knew that Suho was calling. I don’t understand why he bothers. I mean, there’s an invisible camera following me around, right? So wouldn’t he see the updates?

“Yes, hyung?” I asked as I answered the call.

“So, Daeseul,” he said.

I nodded, beaming. I am so glad I finally found her. “Hyung, I have a plan. I won’t let you down. I’ll win the Game for you before the other person can.”

“Yeah, okay, but don’t get too carried away —” Suho started to say.

I checked my watch. “Oh, it’s almost two. I’m supposed to meet up with Daeseul at the coffee shop now. I will see you when I see you, okay? Bye, hyung!”

“Kai —”

“Annyeong!” I winked at him before I switched off the watch and walked back to the coffee shop. By the time I reached there, I heard the faint school bell going off, indicating the end of the day. I smiled. I was on time.

When I saw a familiar female figure from a distance, I broke into a bigger smile. Good, she was here.

Time to continue the mission.

Eun Hae’s POV

I came out around five in the evening to see that the guest room’s was ajar. Lu Han was unpacking.

Slowly, I walked toward there, making sure not to make any noise so I wouldn’t be caught but Lu Han must have supersonic hearing or something because even though his back was turned toward me, as I crept closer to the door, he straightened up and cleared his throat. “Hi,” he greeted me. He patted on my bed. “Come in. You feeling better?” He was referring to my hysterics a moment ago.

Shoulders slumped, I walked inside the room and sat down on the bed, bouncing on the soft mattress as I watched him pack his clothes into the cupboard from his luggage — wait a minute.

“I don’t remember you having a luggage before,” I blurted, frowning.

He looked up distractedly and gave me a smile. “That was because it was kept in my pocket,” he replied.

I stared in bewilderment at the big-size luggage. It was those kind of luggage that people took if they were moving to another country. He can’t have . . .

“I could make it any size and shape I want,” he explained, packing away the last of his clothes into the cupboard and closed the door. With a snap of his fingers, the luggage turned into eraser-size.

Figures.

“I don’t get this alien thing,” I declared.

He shrugged, coming down to sit next to me. “What do you want to know?”

I shook my head. There were so many things I wanted to know, so many questions that I wanted to ask. Where do I start? Aish, my mind is all messed up.

“What kind of powers do you have?”

He shrugged nonchalantly and waved his hand offhandedly. “You already know that I have telekinesis. Oh, and that I have supersonic hearing.” He smirked.

“Can you read minds?” I asked curiously.

He shook his head. “I wish I did. Everyone has a special power. Mine is telekinesis. My other friend has healing, another with controlling ice, controlling time, and lightning and another can fly. But, then everyone has these powers: the power of appearing wherever the person is if we imagined their faces, and being able to turn invisible and letting certain people see us.”

I raised an eyebrow. “Like how?”

He blinked and suddenly he was gone.

My eyes went wide. I couldn’t see him. I reached my hand out to where he was sitting a moment ago and poked something hard even though there was nothing there. “Omo!” I gasped, retreating my hand.

Lu Han appeared before me, at the same spot. “Yah, just because I’m invisible doesn’t mean I’m gas,” he replied. “I’m still solid.”

“Oh,” I said stupidly. To cover it up, I quickly bombarded him with questions. “What do you eat? Why do you look so much like humans? How are you different from humans other than the fact that you guys have powers and are from another planet? What is it like, being at Exo?”

He held out his hand up. “Whoa, one question at a time!” he chuckled. “What do we eat? Why, we eat the same kind of food you guys eat. Food. Rice, noodles, meat, vegetables. We look like humans because we are humans. Like I said earlier, we’re just like you guys except a lot stronger, faster, with powers, and harder to kill. And probably even get to live longer than you guys.”

I gaped at him. “What’s it like, being in Exo?” I wanted to know.

He frowned thoughtfully. “Well I have to admit that I’m not very sure,” he confessed and I raised an eyebrow. “I stay inside a building for all my life ever since I was thirteen. That was such a long time ago. I can’t remember what life was outside. I just remember that the outskirts of the building was nothing but sand and gravel.” He got that cocky look again. “Oh, one thing I forgot to tell you was that guys in Exo are so much better-looking than guys are down here on Earth. Like, way better.”

I rolled my eyes. “Arrogant bastard.”

“It’s the truth! I am not lying this time!” he protested, pouting a little which made me smile because he looked so cute when he was pouting.

I shook my head. Why am I thinking about this?

“If you say that you’ve stayed inside a building all your life, what about girls?” I asked. “I mean, don’t you guy want to settle down and make more Exo babies to carry on the generation or something?”

He nodded. “We do,” he replied. “Well, at least, that is if we want to. If we ever feel like we want to settle down when we’re old enough, like, let’s say, thirty or something, then we can leave the building and go to the city and find beautiful girls to fall in love with and marry them and have babies with them.”

“Oh.”

“Anything else?”

“Speaking of girls,” I said slowly, a thought forming, “if guys are better-looking there than guys here, would you say the same for girls? Or can you even remember, after being in the building for so long?”

He shrugged, scratching his chin as he tried to remember. “If my memory serves me right, yes, they are.” Then he got this dreamy, faraway look, which meant that he was thinking of someone and for some weird, strange reason, I felt the insides of me eating me out, twisting and churning with fear as I thought about Lu Han thinking about the girl he was thinking about.

I am not jealous.

“They’re really beautiful,” he said breathlessly.

I wonder who he was thinking about when he said that.

“Oh.”

He looked at me and hid a smile. “Jealous?” he taunted.

“Of course not,” I scoffed indignantly, folding my arms across my chest. “Why would I be jealous? I mean, who’d have you?”

“You,” he replied.

I rolled my eyes. “In your dreams, lover boy.”

He was still smiling and I wished that I could wipe that silly smirk off his face. “That’s okay,” he said smoothly. “To be honest, you’re prettier. I like you better than the girls in Exo.”

“Wow, I’m honored,” I replied sarcastically.

Lu Han gave a half-smirk. He held out his hand and waved it toward himself. I felt myself moving closer toward him until I was practically sitting on his lap, his arms wrapped around my waist. I blushed, looking away, not used to this close intimacy. I had wrap my arms around his neck so I wouldn’t fall. He refused to let go and only pulled me closer until our faces were almost touching.

“You need to stop that,” I scolded.

“Stop what?”

“If you want to live here, we’re going to have to set some ground rules,” I said trying to be stern but then he raised an eyebrow while smirking and I faltered. I shook my head, snapping out of the trance he seemed to have put over me. “You can’t use your powers against me as it’s not fair since I don’t have powers. And you can’t force me to kiss you or even be close to you.” I tried to break free but, he was right when he said that he was stronger. No matter how much I pinched his hand or stomped on his foot, he wouldn’t budge.

He only tightened his grip. Ugh, so frustrating.

“Let me go! You have to follow the rules!” I tried pounding against his chest but he grabbed my wrists and the next thing I knew, he was pinning me down on the bed, hovering above me with the erted smirk of his.

“Y – Yah, let me go!” I squeaked. “Or else I’m kicking you out.”

He continued to smile, unnerved. “Babe,” he said in a y, husky voice and I nearly gave in, “I never follow the rules.” He leaned down, slowly, his lips an inch away from mine.

Chapter 10: I like that she does not let YongGuk disrespect her but I'm a little annoyed as in how easy she let LuHan convince her and be as rude as YongGuk is (without the ual harrassment of course) and let it slide.
