Their love.

Sounds of laughter echo through the apartment, a stark contrast to the surrounding desolation outside.  The walls, once vibrant with color, are now faded and peeling, revealing the bare concrete beneath. The windows, patched with scraps of fabric, metal and plastic, molded with the best of their ability, struggle to keep out the cold wind that seeps through the cracks. The furniture, worn out, bears the scars and history of the wasteland - scratches, stains, and broken legs.

The air inside is tinged with the faint smell of decay and death, a reminder of the harsh reality outside, while the distant sounds of guns and sirens could be heard in the far distance.

Yoohyeon, their ever free spirited girl is playfully bothering Bora, Bora as always giving back. Siyeon and Yubin share a tender moment cuddled up on the sofa with Yubin both laughing at their lovers antics. Handong and Gahyeon lie on the faded wooden floor floor, pillows and blankets surrounding them into a warm hug, sharing in the laughter. Handong calls them her lovable idiots.

It's beautiful.

Minji's eyes soften at the scene unfold before her. It's the way that Bora and Yoohyeon know they're putting on a show, one that brings laughter and smiles deep inside the rest. Creating memories. It's the way Bora knows Yoohyeon needs this, even for just a moment.

It's the way sunlight streams through the windows casting a warm glow over the room, illuminating the laughter and love that fills the apartment. The way that even in this wasteland, where death can come from behind you without any warning, her girls still enjoy life and the love they all have for each other, even if they know what they have is limited.

"Minji!"

"Hm?"

Her girls turn to look at her, smiles wide, eyes bright, filled with a softness, clouded with unspoken love.

Minji's heart clenches, aches in her chest. It's almost too much, how her beautiful, precious girls are looking at her.

"Come join us!"

Minji would walk hell and back just to keep these precious memories alive, and their love for each other, Minji knows they will never succumb into the wastelands that they now call home.
