Author’s POV

“HYUK!!!!”

“HYUK!!!”

“EUNHYUK!!!”

Eunhyuk trembled all over, trying his very best to steady his hand and allow only a single drop of liquid drip off the dropper.

“HYUUUUKKK!!!”

He flinched at the extra loud yell and an extra two drops of liquid fell into the test tube, making him curse under his breath.

“Dammit, shut up for the moment please!! I’m trying to concentrate here!!” he hollered, grabbing a fresh test tube and filling it with another coloured chemical before resuming with his previous procedure.

“HYUUUUKKK!!! There’s another one!!”

“I KNOW!!! PLEASE LET JUST ME FINISH THIS!!” Eunhyuk screamed in frustration, when the liquid streamed down the test tube again. He was only supposed to put in one, freaking, single drop but the commotion happening outside was just driving him nuts, making him waste precious time.

Right after Donghae fainted in his arms, everything went haywire. Everyone was screaming throughout the lab (even the manly guys), finding more and more unsuspecting people just suddenly freezing in the middle of something and dropping dead to the floor. Eunhyuk had dragged the unconscious Donghae into the lab and barricaded the door with chairs and tables, preventing even Kibum from entering. Kangin, Leeteuk and Kibum were of no help to his hyperventilating state at all. They tried banging the door open but when they realized it was of no use and people started reporting even more sudden deaths in the lab, they started growing scared as well and hollered at Eunhyuk through the locked doors to let them in.

It wasn’t a pretty sight in the lab. People clad in white lab coats were running helter-skelter from one place to another, trying to run away from the unlucky frozen ones. Meanwhile the braver scientists began piling all the frozen bodies into one room and some even called the police, the fire brigade, the ambulance, and just anyone else they could think of.

Missing for the third time in a row, Eunhyuk threw the damned test tube to the floor in frustration, causing glass shards to fly everywhere for the second time. He sank onto his knees in depression, knowing that the calamity was somehow or other caused by him. He could have prevented it, but he failed miserably.

With his last ounce of strength, Kangin burst through the doors and landed in the pile of broken glass. He limped over to the freaking out Eunhyuk and slapped him across the cheeks, bringing him back to his senses.

“LEE EUNHYUK!!! STOP GETTING DEPRESSED AND START WORKING ON IT!!! YOU KNOW VERY WELL WE CAN HELP YOU OUT SO STOP FREAKING OUT AND LISTEN TO ME!!” Kangin roared until he was hoarse and flung the startled Eunhyuk onto a stool. “NOW TELL US WHAT TO DO!!!”

Stunned, Eunhyuk could only bring his palms to where Kangin had slapped him and feel the heat radiate from his red cheeks. He suddenly flared up and curled his fingers into a tight fist, standing up to hurl it at the burly scientist. Kangin caught the fist before it landed on his jaw, pleased to see Eunhyuk back as himself.

Eunhyuk stared at his caught fist and then at the man holding it. Kangin gave him a weak smile, nodding his head at Donghae, slumped uncomfortably on a stool, and then at the door, which Leeteuk and Kibum had succeeded in barricading themselves in again.

“Hyuk,” Kangin said in a low voice, immediately slapping Eunhyuk back into reality.

“H-Hyung. Thank you.”

“Get.”

Nodding, Eunhyuk immediately began his procedure all over again, but this time with the combined help of three more of his colleagues.
