Author’s POV

The serenity of the early morning was shattered to a gadzillion pieces with the shrill ringing of the alarm clock in Eunhyuk’s room. Eunhyuk groaned and rolled over in bed, flailing his free arm about trying his hardest to locate the annoying clock on the bedside table without opening his eyes. Just as luck would have it, the ringing nuisance was slightly out of reach. In exasperation, he just flung another pillow over his head and snuggled back into bed, ignoring the piercing noise that was intent on driving him berserk.

He suddenly realized that Donghae wasn’t in the bed next to him. He immediately sat up and scanned the huge room, not forgetting to throw an irritated glare at the still-ringing alarm clock which was now dancing across the table.

“Aish just shut up!!” Eunhyuk stormed over to the table and hit the ‘snooze’ button with a little extra force than necessary. It quietened down instantly. He flopped back onto the bed, traces of jet-lag still showing in his eyes. It was seven now in Korea, but he was yet to adjust to the local time as it was probably midnight back in Paris.

Well, he couldn’t go back to sleep now, that was for sure, particularly because he could still hear the faint ringing in his ears. He decided to look for Donghae instead. Maybe he got lost in the huge apartment. Anything could have happened.

Eunhyuk trudged out of the bedroom, rubbing his sleepy eyes. He smelt something wonderful coming from the kitchen and he walked there on a hunch. True enough, Donghae was there, mixing something that looked like pancake batter. A small but steadily growing pile of pancakes was placed on the countertop, the heavenly smell wafting towards the man standing at the doorway. Eunhyuk sniffed in delight and sneaked up behind Donghae, surprising him with a back hug.

“Mmm, something smells wonderful, baby,” Eunhyuk crooned, his lips coming into brief contact with Donghae’s exposed neck. The latter giggled and continued flipping pancakes. “Sorry for using your kitchen without asking you first. But I kind of wanted to surprise you.”

“It’s alright, you look really cute in that apron anyway.”

“Hyukkie, stop distracting me,” Donghae giggled when Eunhyuk kissed him on the nape again. “The pancakes are gonna burn.”

“Let it burn, I’d rather eat you instead.”

Donghae whacked him on the head with a spatula. “Ouch!! What was that for?” The latter pouted and rubbed his head where his boyfriend just hit him.

“Stop distracting me or I won’t let you touch me for a week.”

“But baby—”

“A month!”

“Aish fine. I’m going. I’ll just be sitting miserably at the lonely table, watching the gorgeous you from afar longingly, never to be touching you or kissing yo
