Author’s POV

The sunlight crept through the small cracks in the curtains and shone stealthily into the bedroom, a yellow-orange streak of sunshine bouncing off the cream coloured walls, creating a beautiful pattern in the otherwise monochrome room. Donghae stirred and opened both his eyes at the same time. Where was he? And why couldn’t he move his arms?

He looked down and noticed Eunhyuk’s arms wrapped tightly around his body. So that’s the reason why, he thought. He tried waking up the owner of those long, snaky arms because he felt hungry.

“Hyukkie, wake up.”

“Mmhh.”

“Hyukkie!!”

“Ngahhh.” Eunhyuk proceeded to hug Donghae even tighter.

“Hyukkieeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Wake up, I’m hungry!!”

“Five more minutes, baby,” came the mumbled reply.

“But I’m hungreeeeeeee…” A pout was clearly forming on his mouth.

“Baby… Five more minutes, I promise.”

“I’m hungry.”

“Mmhh.”

“Hyukkie, I wanna get up.”

“Mmhh.”

“Hyukkie, let go of me.”

“Nuhh-uhh.”

“I’m suffocating.”

“Mmhh.”

Their pointless conversation – or rather, Donghae’s pointless monologue and Eunhyuk’s nonchalant replies – went on for a full five minutes. By this time, Donghae was pressed so much into Eunhyuk’s embrace, he really did find it a little suffocating right then.

Suddenly, Donghae’s stomach growled so loudly that even Eunhyuk could feel the vibrations against his tummy, considering that he was hugging the former so tightly. He buried his head in Donghae’s hair.

“Baby, are you hungry?”

Donghae nodded his head. “I’m really, really hungry.”

“Okay, we’ll get someone to fix breakfast for us.”

“You’re not going to let me go?”

“No.”

“Hyukkieeeeeee…”

“Just stay like this for a while longer…”

“You said five minutes just now. It’s already been eight minutes.”

“Well then, let’s just make it ten.”

“Hyukkie!!”

“I want to cuddle,” Eunhyuk lifted a finger against Donghae’s lips to shush him. “We’ll have breakfast in bed later, okay?”

Donghae couldn’t speak with Eunhyuk’s finger against his mouth, so he just nodded.

“That’s my baby.”

A good hour later, the both of them were finally up and eating. Donghae was giggling because he had ‘stolen’ half of Eunhyuk’s scrambled eggs and the latter was eating with a pout on his face. Donghae definitely did not know that his boss could look so cute even when pouting. Eunhyuk finished his breakfast first (since he had half an egg less to eat) and reached for the juice.

“So baby, what do you want to do today?” He asked in between sips.

“I want to take a look at the dolphin yesterday, Hyukkie.”

“Are you sure? I don’t want you to cry again…”

“I’ll be fine, Hyukkie, you’re gonna be there for me even if I cry, right?”
