Author’s POV

Eunhyuk refused to leave Donghae’s side even for a minute. He continued soft-talking to the latter, willing him to wake up. Donghae was still unconscious, but his body temperature was going back to normal already, and that somewhat gave Eunhyuk a little comfort.

The pink man was already exhausted from crying too much and buried his face in his boyfriend’s chest. He recalled painfully all the things they just did on their first date not very long ago, wondering when was the next time that he would be able to do the same things with him again. He let out a sob and fresh tears plunged from his eyes, creating a small, wet pool on Donghae’s shirt.

Little did he know that a single tear was also falling from Donghae’s closed eyes at the same time.

Donghae’s POV

The darkness encircling me tried to engulf me as I crouched nearer and nearer to the ground. I couldn’t see anything but a void and dark hollow space surrounding me. It was so intimidating and also suffocating at the same time. I could feel all my breath out of myself into the black vacuum as the temperature in the hollow started dropping below zero. The chill crept into my bones, threatening to freeze my entire body as I threw my arms around myself in a failed attempt to preserve at least some warmth in myself. I shuddered violently, my mouth open in a silent cry for help. Nothing escaped my chattering mouth except a strangled sort of sound that was supposed to sound like a plea, a plea for somebody, or anybody, to wake me up from this terrible, freezing nightmare. My breath condensed into white mist in front of my face as I huffed and puffed with huge difficulty, taking in precious oxygen that was running dangerously low in this terrifying, confined space.

Hyukkie. Please, please help me. Please get me out of here. Hyukkie, where are you? Save me…

I shut my eyes as I slowly began to embrace death. My breath hitched in my throat and I could no longer breathe. I was just about to slowly fade away into non-existence when I heard a piercing scream that jolted me out of my near-slumber. I felt a small source of warmth surrounding me and I fought hard to breathe again, feeling my lungs burning in my chest as I craved for highly-deprived oxygen. I took in a haggard breath and tried all I could to fight the sleepiness that was threatening to overcome me. Almost immediately, I could feel myself slowly warming up and I opened my eyes with much difficulty, as if my eyelids were suddenly cemented together. I opened them a tiny crack and saw that there was a radiating red glow under my body. I could breathe a little more normally as I felt myself slowly absorbing the heat from the red glow, replacing the numbing feel in my entire body. My bones ached and I felt incredibly dizzy but I tried my best to stay conscious. I could feel someone, or something, grabbing my hand. It seemed to be mumbling something but I couldn’t hear much because my head was throbbing. I could feel a wet, uncomfortable presence on my chest and I almost thought I heard sobbing. My head cleared a little and I recognized Hyukkie’s voice. He was sobbing
