No One's POV

“Ouu!” Soyoung exclaimed as she pointed towards an ice cream stand. “They’re selling ice cream! I want some! Do you guys want one?”

Kyung and Zico chuckled and shook their heads. *She’ll always be a kid deep down inside.*

“We’re good. Go get yourself some,” Zico nudged her one before she ran off.

The two guys sighed in content before sitting down on the bench while Soyoung ran off. The tour of the college was okay. The university sure is big, but Zico and Kyung easily got a hold of it. Soyoung had some trouble, but she’ll manage.

“Why did you come with us today?” Zico asked, breaking the silence. His question didn’t come off rude nor did he mean to make it rude. It was a genuine question that’s been on his mind since this morning when Kyung said he’ll tag along. Of course, it was planned that Kyung would be attending Seoul High University, but since two days ago with the unfair news that he may be leaving for the states, things totally jacked up.

“Just because,” Kyung replied curtly. There wasn’t much to say to his question. He knew that Zico was quite upset with what’s happening, and Kyung would be lying if he said it doesn’t matter, because it does. In fact, it matters to the point that it really would change their lives forever.

“With your presence here today,” Zico began, “You’re making it hard on us.”

Zico knew that his words had stabbed at Kyung hard, because it sure did stab at Zico, himself. As much as it hurt, Zico couldn’t help but say it, because it was true. Zico was disappointed that Kyung had made the decision to come with them on this day.

Kyung took in a sharp breath before replying a short answer, “I know.”

“Don’t be sorry,” Zico muttered, knowing how his best friend was feeling. “As hard as it is on me, I can take it, but Soyoung’s a different story. Your choice of coming here today brought up her hopes that you’ll be staying in Seoul when you haven’t even made the decision yet.”

Kyung kept silent this time. Even though he knew Zico was right, Kyung had to analyze his every word into his mind. In the past, Kyung hated hearing Zico’s wise words because he knew Zico was right. Now, though, he didn’t mind hearing them. He needed all the wise words he can get to make the right decision.

Zico cleared his throat intentionally. “Soyoung’s coming back. Act natural.” Zico straightened up before putting on a forced grin. “How’s the ice cream?” He asked as Soyoung neared.

“It’s good on a hot day like this,” she chirped as she walked over with a Popsicle in her left hand and a bag in her right. She held out the bag. “Here.”

Kyung raised his brows. “What?”

“Ice cream,” she urged them to take it.

“We said we didn’t want any,” Kyung tried to put on his joking costume. “Is our tadpole deaf?”

Soyoung scoffed, “Just be glad that I bought you guys some. Here.” She dropped the bag onto Kyung’s lap before taking a seat between the two male. Soyoung took in a breath and smiled gently. “The air today sure is refreshing.”

“You’re weird,” Kyung gave her a look before passing one of the popsicles to Zico who gratefully took it.

“Gratefully weird,” Soyoung added with a laugh. “Because normal isn’t fun.”

“And you’re fun?” Kyung scoffed before opening his Popsicle and taking a bite out of it. A grin immediately came upon him. *She’s right. It is a refreshing day today.*

“Of course,” Soyoung mumbled as she her treat.

Zico leaned forward and propped his arms up on his legs, enjoying the cold treat that Soyoung had bought. “So, how do you like the university? It’s pretty big.”

The female sighed, “It really is. It’s a bit too big, but I think I’ll manage. It’s not too bad. In fact, I love the scenery. It’s beautiful here and the air is so refreshing. Coming here for my break would be awesome. No one would disturb me.”

“You sound like you’re going to have a fun year,” Kyung commented. “Have fun making friends that will actually want to hang out with you.”

With his rude comment, Soyoung glared at Kyung. “Watch me. I will.”

Zico laughed at their child side. Sure, he still felt tense at the fact that Kyung might be leaving them in 48 hours, if he makes up his mind, but he doesn’t care. That’s the future. That’s in 48 hours. That’s not now. Now is a time for them to cherish.

*Thank you, Kyung.* Zico voiced in his mind. *Staying or not, thanks for not making it a big deal. I guess you really have matured.*

 

 

 

“Is this seriously where you’re going to go to school?” Yun Yi gasped as they walked around the campus. “This place is beautiful!”

“You’re making it such a big deal,” Baekhyun sighed as he looked around himself.

Luhan ignored Baekhyun’s comment as he answered the female. “Yeah, I guess. I didn’t think it’d be this big.”

The whole gang along with Yun Yi herself had decided to visit the university today sine they had nothing to do, and of course, it wouldn’t hurt to get to know their school better. It’ll be easier to get around on the first day. Although Mei Lien had wanted to come, Yun Yi made her stay with Luhan’s parents. As she had stated: ‘It’s college. You’re too young for that right now.’ Kris sure did get irked when she had stated that to the little girl and so did the others, but Yun Yi was the older sister of the little girl he felt bad for.

“Yun Yi isn’t wrong though,” Kris noted, “The University is pretty nice and spacious.”

“The atmosphere is perfect to study in,” Suho agreed, sticking his hands in his pockets.

“Only you would study,” Chen scoffed before looking around in wonder. He, too, became awed by the university. *This place is no joke.* “This is a nice place to film music videos. Weren’t some music videos filmed here?”

“Yeah, I think.” Chanyeol answered as he thought about it. He looked around and spotted someone similar sitting at the bench far from the group, but visible. “Oh! Pretty woman!”

Everyone turned their heads towards the direction Chanyeol pointed. It’s not because they were interested or anything. They just wanted to see who Chanyeol was pointing out.

Kyungsoo raised his brows. “Isn’t that Soyoung?”

“Hey,” Lay grinned, “That is Soyoung.”

Luhan frowned. He knew that Soyoung was to attend Seoul High University, but that’s not what made him frown. *She said that she was going to see me home yesterday. She never even came out to say hi when I came home. Oh well, I wasn’t even waiting.* But he knew deep on the inside that he was lying to himself. He had waited almost all night for her to come out of her balcony to at least say hi or good night. He had literally taken her words to heart when she said that she’ll see him later when he gets home. *Her lost. She was the one wanting to see me anyways. I was just being kind by waiting.*

 Yun Yi, on the other hand, wasn’t so pleased to have seen her.

“She’s going to attend Seoul High University too?” Kai wondered out loud.

“Yeah,” Luhan answered the latter. Relief washed over Luhan as he saw the said female laugh from afar. His resentment towards her vanished immediately. *She looks happy today. That’s good.*

That was until he saw that she was sitting with two males by her side, all enjoying a nice cold treat.

The others noticed as well.

“Who are the guys sitting with her?” Sehun voiced his question. The others shrugged. They didn’t know her well. If anything, they only knew that her name was Soyoung and she’s Luhan’s across-the-street neighbor, and now, they know she’s attending the same college as they are.

“One of them is her boyfriend,” Yun Yi volunteered to answer.

Chanyeol whipped his head towards her with wide eyes. “Her boyfriend?! She has a boyfriend?!”

“Of course. Why do you think she doesn’t hang around Luhan?” she smirked.

Her answer had bothered Luhan, but he kept quiet. He was actually unsure of whether Zico was Soyoung’s friend or boyfriend, but whatever he was to Soyoung, Luhan could care less. He was just bothered by the fact that Yun Yi had to point it out to the others in that way.

Chanyeol fumed as he glared at Luhan. “You didn’t tell us she was taken.”

Luhan shrugged, “I didn’t know either.”

Kris took notice of Yun Yi’s behavior change. Like Luhan, Kris didn’t like that side of Yun Yi. It always reminded him to think of whether the real Yun Yi is caring and nice, or an evil witch that wants to get rid of all the women in the world. “Why don’t we go over and say hi?” he suggested, knowing that the female with them wouldn’t like it one bit.

And that’s why he had suggested it. He liked playing with Yun Yi when she’s in that state. This was one of the character traits Kris has with his weird dislike for his cousin. Yes, Kris disliked his cousin, but it wasn’t the type of dislike where they were at each other’s necks. It was more like a friendly dislike, where you can get along with that person with no problem at all, but there are times when their presence just annoys you and you want them to disappear forever. Weird trait, yes, Kris knows. And he has a reason for it.

“We should!” Tao agreed right away. He wasn’t fond with Soyoung, but it wouldn’t hurt to go say hi.

Like Kris had predicted, Yun Yi was fuming with anger even though she tried not to show it. The most she could do was glare at her cousin in which he acted as if he couldn’t see her.

“Yeah, I want to see if she remembers my name,” Sehun added on after Tao.

“Oh yeah, she’s pretty bad at names,” Kyungsoo laughed.

“Especially my name,” Xiumin grinned.

Luhan couldn’t help but agree. “Fine, let’s go.” Forgetting about Yun Yi’s high dislike towards the innocent female, Luhan lead them forward as Kris and Yun Yi stayed behind.

Kris smirked, “She stayed away from Luhan, but it seems like Luhan’s the one who wants to stick on.” He glanced at Yun Yi to see her fierce eyes on him. It made him feel proud for that second. “I don’t know why you seem to hate her so much, like how you hate other girls around us, but just so you know, it’s never Soyoung’s fault if they become close. Your jealousy doesn’t matter at this point.”

And with that, he followed right after the guys, leaving one fumed Yun Yi.

*Kris, you freaking bastard!* She wanted to shout, but kept it in and took a deep breath. She had to keep calm. She had to. She quickly followed after the group as well.

 

 

“You’re majoring in art, right?” Kyung asked Soyoung, looking at her.

Soyoung turned to face him as well as Zico texted away on his phone. “Yup! It’ll be a piece of cake!” She became doubtful. “I hope.”

Kyung laughed at her cuteness. He had to admit, as much as they had their mini quarrels, he always enjoyed watching her fume over small things they argue about. She’s always so adorable when she’s mad. Don’t get him wrong. He has no such feelings towards her. It’s just that when a girl is cute, you have to admit, they’re cute.

“You like art. I’m sure you’ll do fine,” he assured before adding on, “that’s if you’re told to huge mural. A tadpole like you will never reach the top.”

With that ending comment, he earned a knock to the head.

“For a minute there, I actually thought you were going to be sincere,” Soyoung rolled her eyes.

Kyung chuckled, shrugging it off before looking up to see a group of males walking towards them. “Who are they?” He asked.

Soyoung looked up as well to see who Kyung was talking about before her smile slipped, not that it had meant to.

“Luhan,” she muttered.

At the name, Zico’s head jerked up to see the group walk towards them. A surge of annoyance came through his body upon meeting eyes with the said male.

Luhan shifted eyes towards Soyoung again and for once in his whole life, he didn’t know whether to smile or not. Although he was walking forward, he was starting to panic. Does he smile at her, or does he not? For once, he felt embarrassed to have come upon that decision.

Like the Luhan everyone usually knows, he decided against smiling. *It’d be weird.* Luhan concluded before stopping near the group of three.

“Hey,” Lay grinned, waving at Soyoung.

The friendly wave brought Soyoung out from her tense state as she freely smiled back.

“Hi,” she greeted back before making eye contact with her across-the-street neighbor. “You guys are here too?”

Luhan guessed that she was asking him, obviously, because she was looking right at him. And because he had concluded that she was speaking to him, he nodded nonchalantly. He suddenly felt the urge to be mad and annoyed. The thought of yesterday made him want to have an attitude towards, but he held it back.

“They wanted to say hi,” Luhan spoke as he nodded his head at the guys behind him.

“Oh,” Soyoung nodded understanding. “I see.” She flitted her eyes to the rest of them. Her smile only grew wider. “Hi, guys!”

Kris smiled broadly and put a hand up in the air, considering a cool gesture.

Baekhyun nodded his head in response to her.

Chen smiled sheepishly. Lay following him.

Sehun raised his brows and followed Kris’s greeting style.

Kai smirked and like Sehun and Kris, he did the same.

“It’s nice to see you again, Soyoung,” Suho politely spoke with his charming smile.

Xiumin grinned and waved at her.

Tao flittered his hand in the air at her.

Chanyeol gave a charming smile with a short wave.

Kyungsoo showed his heart-shaped grin and gave a curt bow.

Luhan didn’t to do anything. Yun Yi was the same, except for the fact that she was sending daggers towards Soyoung.

Kyung noticed the Chinese girl and her glares and decided to step up the game.

“Sorry to ask, but,” Kyung used his hands to explain as he wasn’t sure how to word his thoughts. *Who the is Luhan and who are these people?*

“Oh!” Soyoung wanted to laugh. Of course, Kyung doesn’t know them and  they don’t know him nor do they know Zico. “Kyung, this is Luhan,” she said, pointing at Luhan, “and those are his friends.” She faced the large group. “And guys, these are my friends, Kyung and Zico.”

Luhan locked eyes with Zico and immediately, he had the urge to release the annoyance he held back.

“I believe we met before,” Zico spoke firmly. “I’m Zico.”

“I’m Luhan,” the latter replied rather curtly.

“I’m Kyung,” the guy jumped in. He had sensed that Zico didn’t like this guy, and for the sake of not wanting his best friend to lash out at some stranger, he decided to start a conversation. “Your names are?”

The guys introduced themselves as Yun Yi tried to make herself unnoticeable. But this, Kyung noticed.

“You, girl back there,” Kyung pointed towards the Chinese female. “What’s your name?”

Yun Yi was taken aback from getting pointed out. She was flustered that he had paid attention at least. “Yun Yi,” she appeared fierce.

Kyung raised his brows. “Yun Yi? You’re Chinese too? Hmm, funny, you don’t look Chinese. You don’t look Korean either, but you just look like some type of Asian.”

“I still pass as an Asian,” Yun Yi rolled her eyes.

*Damn, she’s those type of girls. Gotta protect my Soyoung.* Kyung forced on a smile. “Not with that attitude. Make sure to keep that attitude sealed when you’re with others, or else you’ll embarrass us Asians.”

Yun Yi was taken aback from his rude comment. “You --”

“Lay off of her,” Luhan defended the female. “It doesn’t make you look any better.”

Kyung laughed dryly before turning to Soyoung and taking off his mask of a forced smile. His expression showed that he was quite annoyed. “You’re serious? You know these guys?”

Before Soyoung could answer, Kai spoke up.

“Yeah, I was surprised that I ended up with these guys,” Kai chuckled. “And to this day, I still question myself. I’m not surprised if Soyoung backs out from being our friend.”

Kyung looked over to Kai before laughing. “Hey, that guy’s cool!” Kyung exclaimed. “You said your name’s Kai? That’s one cool name too.” He turned to Soyoung again. “You can be friends with him. If I were you, I would reconsider about the others.”

Upon hearing this, Luhan rolled his eyes. *Who the hell is this guy?*

“Yo, we’re all with Kai on this one,” Chen spoke with a slight grin. “These two are on their own in their own world,” he pointed at Luhan and Yun Yi. “I swear.”

“Yah,” Luhan frowned.

Are they really going to side with that Kyung guy? He literally insulted the love of his life. How could they side with him?

“It’s okay, Luhan,” Suho assured. “We’re just giving you an open path to what you want.”

Knowing what the Korean leader had meant, Luhan glared over at him.

“Say, you guys are attending Seoul High University?” Kyung questioned.

“Yeah,” Kris answered for the rest of them. “You too?”

Kyung was about to answer, but stopped immediately. *... Damn. I actually don’t even know.*

“Yeah, we are,” Zico answered instead. He was saving Kyung. He knew Kyung wouldn’t be able to answer such a question. Kyung had always hated lying, and therefore, Kyung was always an honest person, trouble or not. *We, as if Soyoung and I…*

“Really?” Tao grinned. “That’s cool! What are you guys majoring in?”

“Music,” Zico replied curtly.

Soyoung was about to answer was cut off.

“She’s majoring in Art,” Luhan spoke for her.

The others looked at him.

*Of course he’d know.* The guys thought.

“Uh, yeah,” Soyoung muttered. “I’m majoring in art.”

“That’s cool,” Chen praised. “You must be very good at drawing.”

Soyoung smiled, delighted by the compliment. “I’m decent --”

“It seems like you’ve taken a tour around here already,” Luhan interrupted, not quite pleased that she was taking such a compliment to heart when the two barely know each other. Not to mention, Luhan’s resentment towards Soyoung from waiting last night was kicking in. “Why don’t you show us around?”

Soyoung frowned, “Didn’t you guys already go around?”

“We haven’t,” Luhan replied honestly. They’ve been to some areas, but not the whole university yet. “So take us.”

“Yah, go yourself,” Zico told Luhan off. He didn’t like the way Luhan was speaking to Soyoung. It was rude and not to mention, not a gentleman. “You and your friends. There’s plenty of you guys. Why would you need Soyoung to take you?”

“It’s fine, Zico,” Soyoung assured before turning to Luhan. “You’re asking me for a favor? Because that’s what it sounds like.”

“I’m not,” Luhan rolled his eyes. “I just want something in return.”

“What?” Now Soyoung was confused. Return for what?

“I want something in return. I practically gave you food yesterday,” Luhan stated.

Baekhyun and the others scoffed quietly, laughing to themselves. Luhan was confused of why, but reminded suddenly of why they were laughing. They were laughing at him. He cursed mentally.

*Damn, this is embarrassing. This was not what I wanted. Now they’re gonna use this against me.* Luhan thought.

“You weren’t being nice?” Soyoung raised her brows, because she really had thought he was just being kind. He sure did seem like it.

Before Luhan could speak, Baekhyun voiced his thoughts instead. “He’s never nice. When he is, he’s always looking for something in return. In the future, never take his offers or anything because he’ll really use it against you. We’ve all been there before, right guys?”

The others nodded with a grin.

Soyoung scoffed, “I should’ve known.”

Luhan it in. *I’ll get them later.* “You should have. Now give me a tour.”

Soyoung sighed heavily and got up. “Fine. I should’ve known that you’re a big baby also.”

“You --”

“Just be happy she’s giving you a tour,” Kyung smirked. “You asked for it.”

“He’s right,” Kris sided with Kyung. “Just go, Luhan.”

Luhan glared at Kris before following Soyoung. The group followed behind, leaving Yun Yi, Kyung, Zico, and Kris.

Kyung stopped Zico from following. “Let’s go back. Trust them with Soyoung.” Before Zico could protest, Kyung continued, “I have something to tell you. This is a good timing. Soyoung’s not with us.”

Sighing in defeat, Zico nodded. For just this one time, he’ll trust Luhan to take care of Soyoung, even though the idea made him go berserk. Kyung placed on a smile and turned towards Kris.

“Aren’t you guys going with the tour?” Kyung asked.

Kris shrugged. “Gotta keep an eye on my cousin.” He nodded his head at the female who scowled back. “Attitude, you know?”

Kyung chuckled. “I trust you to keep her from Soyoung.”

Kris raised his brows. “Wow, protective.” He bursted into laughter with Kyung before nodding. “Got that down. It’s nice meeting you. Hopefully we’ll get to hang out in the future. You seem cool.”

“You too,” Kyung praised before waving at Yun Yi. “And you, young lady, bye.” Kyung winked at the female before taking off with Zico.

Yun Yi stomped her foot. “I hate that guy!”

“More like you hate your defeat,” Kris muttered. Again, he earned a glare from her.

“Stop taking everyone’s side!” Yun Yi lashed out, but of course, that didn’t do any good. Kris only laughed.

“I’m just doing what I think is right,” Kris voiced. “Sometimes you’ve just got to stop and calm down. Now, what do you say about going after the guys? Hmm, maybe it was better for you to stay home.”

Yun Yi punched Kris’s arm. “Stop putting your cousin down!” she ordered. “You’re really dead when we get home.” And stomped off after the group that was far ahead.

*Kris 1. Yun Yi 0.* Kris thought with a smirk. *I’m winning already. Cool.* And like Yun Yi, he ran to catch up with the group.

Now about this chapter, I've got to admit, I really like it! It just gives off this feeling that makes me feel at home, for some weird, unknown reason. I mean, Luhan is just... Wow. Really? LOL & Soyoung is so... You know. Haha! As for Kyung and Zico, yes, rough times for them. Maybe, just maybe, more will be explained in the next chapter ;)

Well, what do you know? Luhan did get something in return after all! Looks like the guys are right about him and his kindness! & Yes, I know what many of you are all thinking! 'I hate Yun Yi!' or 'I'm not liking Yun Yi.'. It's the same here! Haha. At least, now, you know a little bit of how Kris thinks, yeah? More will be explained as we move forward. ;)
