It was a peaceful night, the time being about one in the morning. Taemin had been put to bed at around 8:30, give or take a few minutes for a bedtime story. Minho and Key had stayed up later to watch a movie together, and probably didn’t get into their bedroom until about midnight.

Key was sleeping peacefully, that is, until he felt a little hand shaking his shoulder. “Umma!” The whisper sounded urgent, and he heard sniffling and small sobs.

He shot up instantly at the sound of his son’s voice, getting out of bed and kneeling in front of the little boy. “What’s wrong, baby? What happened?”

Taemin started sobbing, and what he was saying was hard to understand. “It was an accident. I didn’t mean to, I didn’t mean to! I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to!”

Key was confused, “What happened, Taeminnie? What’s wrong?” He pulled the boy closer to him for a hug, and he felt something wet. It clicked in his head what had happened, and he tried to calm the little boy down.

“Oh sweetie, it’s okay. It was an accident; accidents happen. It’s nothing we can’t clean up, neh? Come on, let’s get you into some clean pajamas, okay?” He hugged the boy, and threw a pillow at Minho. “Yah! You rock, wake up! How dare you sleep through our son crying!”

Minho groaned, turning on the lamp next to the bed. The interaction made Taemin feel a little better, but he was still very upset; scared, even.
