Chapter 37: Words that disappoint
Ms Author- IdolSilly girl, I would always be here for you.
Those words echoed in my brain the whole day, occupying all my thoughts. It wasn’t something unpleasant. Rather than that, it lingered in my head making me blissful. Occasionally, I was smile unknowingly as I recalled. Till someone did ask about my jovial mood, then I realized I was too obvious.
“Kyung Me, why are you smiling to yourself? Did something good happen?” Hoya sat down beside me. Collaboration between Infinite and I for this special photo shoot had bought us together for this photo shoot.
“Hmm? Oh, it’s nothing,” I grinned at him. I couldn’t possibly tell him that a sentence from JaeJoong made my day.
“Can’t be, you are smiling the whole day,” Hoya teased, bumping into my shoulder.
“Was I?” I tried to recollect those moments.
“Quick, tell me,” Hoya demanded.
“Emm…Hero made my day! He’s been so cute and obedient all day.” I smiled at him, trying to cover up the truth.
“Hero is a cute, alright.” Hoya chuckled as he looked over at Hero. Hero was now sleeping on my lap.
“So, where did you say Hero come from again?”
“I didn’t. He was a dog abandoned by his owner and JaeJoong picked him up.” I the fur of Hero softly, not wanting to wake him up.
“JaeJoong?” Hoya’s face fell, as disappointment filled his face.
“Yeah, it’s just…just that…he…you know… he just had his own commitment, his own cat… He didn’t want them to fight. So, you know he had no choice.” I panicked at Hoya’s sudden discontent. I didn’t want to see him like that, and misunderstand anything.
“It’s alright, you don’t have to explain.” Hoya gave façade smile, his eyes still filled with defeat.
“Sorry,” I apologized immediately.
“It’s really alright, silly.” Hoya ruffled my hair. “So, have you bought the necessities for Hero?”
“Nope, but I am going to get them tonight with JaeJoong.” I literally whispered the last two words.
“Oh, that’s…that’s…” Hoya couldn’t complete his sentence. He stared straight into my eyes, his expression unreadable. I gazed worriedly at him. Did I say something wrong?
“Kyung Me,” He called out.
“Ne…neh?” His seriousness startled me a little.
“Don’t go,” Hoya said in a tone almost in a begging tone.
“Go where?” I asked, confused at his statement.
“Don’t leave me,” Hoya reached out for my face with his hands, cupping my cheeks. I could felt his warm through his hands, and the passion in his sentence. But what’s the real meaning behind his sentence?
“Why would I? We are living in the same building, oppa.” I smiled.
“You are right.” Hoya’s hands slid down my hands, giving a pretentious smile.
“It’s your turn, Kyung Me!” The staff called out for me.
“Neh!” I yelled back. “Can you help me take care of Hero?”
“Sure,” Hoya reached out for Hero, putting him on his lap.
“Oppa,” I turned back, looking at him. “I’m sorry.”
Please smile, Hoya.
