Chapter 54: Love the Way You Lie
LOVE NEVER SLEEPS (My Heart's Candy)All of the people in the conference room had their jaws dropped, having a hard time believing what the Park brothers just disclosed with them. Sun was the most horrified of all of them. She had her fists tight into balls, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. She could not believe she had shared her heart with some monster like him.
“How sure are you about this, yeobo?” GaIn asked just to make sure everything was not a joke.
“We had quadruple checked this… we were also doubtful at first… but everything fits quite perfectly…” Kwon responded.
“It was tricky… he plans well and they’ve planned this very well… he was even this close to being a part of this family…” Jay added.
Sun could not take her emotions in control anymore. She stood and rushed away from the conference room. Taec stood from his seat full of worry, wanting to chase after her sister, but Fany held his hand, telling him to give her some space, knowing that Taec could possibly make Sun’s feelings worse. Fany knew that Taec might be unable to control his words, and bad mouth KyuHyun and make Sun more depressed.
“I’ll follow her, I’ll bring her back once she had calmed down oppa…” Sohee volunteered after seeing the big brother’s worried face and knowing that her best friend really needed some company.
SoHee followed her and went into the ladies’ room, after seeing her friend’s silhouette rushing in, muffling her cries. “Sunye-ah… gwaenchanha… you don’t have to keep it inside… let it out… cry out loud… no one will judge you…” SoHee spoke, a little teary eyed too, after seeing her friend suffer. SoHee thought that it was worse than being left in the middle of a relationship, and she swore to herself that she would choke that man to death after he had used Sun as his pawn in his games.
After a while of sobbing inside the locked cubicle, Sun slowly walked out, and looked at her friend who had a worried gaze as SoHee waited for her, leaning against the sinks. “SoHee-ah, I know you would understand me… I really want to talk to him… I want to see him with my own eyes… I want to know if he was really sincere with me, or I was just blinded by his lies and his charm that I thought what I saw was his sincerity…”
“I’ll go with you…” SoHee held Sun’s hand tightly.
“Ani… I wanna do this alone…, and I want to end things with him on my own… I’ll be safe… nothing’s gonna happen… I know how to fight… and I’m not my brother’s weak sister anymore… I’ve grown up to be Ok SunYe, the SunYe filled with will power, and now with hatred towards that man…” she continued, but SoHee was still worried. “Trust me, please…”
With that plead from her best friend, her grip on Sun’s hand went loose and she hugged her friend tightly. “Be back safe… and fast… I don’t want to face the oppas’ fury that long… you know that I don’t have Channie to back me up anymore…” SoHee spoke and Sun nodded as they broke apart.
Sun headed to the parking lot and took a deep breath before she started the engine, heading towards the Im mansion. She sped off after receiving a message from KyuHyun that he was indeed in their mansion and that he would be waiting for him.
As she drove into the busy roads of Seoul, she could not stop thinking about what Kwon and Jay had just shared. Every word they just said was repeating in her head like a nightmare.
“Guess who the owner of the mansion was, where your friend Kang HoDong hyung saw that horrible room…? Okay, don’t guess… the owner during the period the party was held is someone named Gong KiHoon… and the name does not ring a bell right? But after getting some help from the ‘sniffing dogs’ Channie sent us, we found that he is an alumnus of HongIk… and he is the best friend, confidante, favourite disciple of our dear…” Jay paused for awhile and glanced at her. “Our dear KyuHyun-ssi…”
“The detectives asked around and met with the previous maid of the Gong family, Mrs. Yoon, she told us that Cho KyuHyun was a jolly person not until his second year in senior high… something happened, which they are still investigating about, that made him gloomy… and KiHoon was the only person he talked to… for a period of time, he lived away from the Ims and KiHoon gave him a room to live in and we think that room was the same room that HoDong-ssi saw…” Jay added
“Then one day, KyuHyun started mingling again, but he was different, there was something different in his eyes that KiHoon feared… even KiHoon’s parents were worried for him… then suddenly, he grew violent and KiHoon fearing that this might bring his friend bad image, they fired all helpers… and the next thing Mrs. Yoon heard was that KiHoon’s parents were dead inside their home… a silent funeral was held but not long after, the Gong’s residence was again filled with loud cheering sounds…” He continued
“There were rumours that KyuHyun was keeping KiHoon caged inside his own house… then slowly, he made it into the industry… living what seemed like a normal life, working under his adoptive parents’ company… but KiHoon was never seen without KyuHyun by his side… he was like his occasional shadow… and after that party Taec Hyung were talking about, no one saw the man ever again…” Kwon spoke
“But what does KyuHyun have against us?” Taec wondered.
“I think that it has a strong connection on what happened during his senior high days… and that’s what Channie’s team is investigating about…” Kwon responded
On the first page of our story
The future seemed so bright
Then this thing turned out so evil
I don't know why I'm still surprised
“On the other side, YoonA? I don’t think she has a dramatic grudge against the Oks like KyuHyun… all we have found is that she just likes Taec for her own good… nothing like a revengeful plot like KyuHyun’s… but the ‘parents’ she met outside the building… are not the real parents… we had them followed and they have their own families… one was once a cab driver, then the woman was a food stall ahjumma… YoonA must have found them
