Time stopped. Everything stopped for a reason. 

I stared at the reflection with the dim light above me. If we did find Donghae, which we will, I would still feel sorry for Donghae for getting all this blame. But in a way I felt a slight doubt in my stomach. Something wasn't right. And I don't know what it is or any clues on why that feeling was lingering itself there but it was annoying the crap out of me

I went outside the room and in a second I was outside the mansion, Changmin a few feet away with Yunho and Yoochun as they all were dressed in black clothes. A hunter. 

Invisible, quiet as a mouse, silently moving like the wind.. analyzing.. 

This lies in our nature and this is what we are. What I am. . 

I stared down at my hands as I sighed heavily

"You're alright?"

JaeJoong was in front o fme, and I hadn't even noticed him coming towards me. He lifted my ching and I just sighed again and shook my head

"Nothing"

"You're sure?"

I nodded

"Let's go" Kibum said suddenly

All of us nodded and we started to run. Everyone was fast and it was amazing. This was my first run ever and the wind in my face, all the things that I was able to see which we kept passing by, all the details, hearing and seeing everything moving which I would never have been able to see with my human eyes

To a human, it would've probably felt like it was taking us seconds to run like this but it was shorter than that. To be able to run like this, analyze, smelling the scents in the nature and hearing, all of this at the same time was an incredible gift of ours. But used for the wrong things in this vampire life

I felt JaeJoong running close to me, so was Changmin. Kibum was running upfront, showing the way with Junsu and Yunho by his side.

Yoochun was behind me slightly, it felt like they were running in these positions since they wanted to have a circle protected around me. Odd..

After running for 20 minutes, we were far away from the mansions, it felt like miles for some reason but I didn't put any much thoughts into that. I felt myself analyzing the area as I looked around, the woods were quietly still as I heard a stream not far away from here. 

"I think it's gonna start rain soon. Let's start searching" Kibum said

"Spread out. Shout once you find it" JaeJoong instructed

A heavy burden was soon formed, my shoulders hanging as I looked at the guys leaving , to search for the body. 

I turned around and I bumped into JaeJoong's chest as he let out a quiet laugh

"You're not so attentive today. If it were me or the other guys we would have known that someone was standing right there and not bumped into the person" JaeJoong said

"Hehe I know.. I just.. have a lot of things on my mind"

JaeJoong's playful expression changed instantly and concerned was washed over his face

"You want to do this? Or do you wanna go back? You don't have to be here" He said

"I want to be here. Don't worry"

"My instincts tells me otherwise" He said

I sighed

"Okay. I don't want to be here but I need to be here. Cause I need to settle this for me.. myself. I just don't feel at ease at the moment"

I passed JaeJoong and I heard him standing still where I had left him. I kept walking, didn't want to spin around cause my determination about finding Donghae grew all the more. 

I ran away from that spot and started to search. I tried to remember his face from my human dim memory but it was quite hard. I tried to remember his scent, his clothes and what he last wore before Kibum took him away and buried him. But nothing came to mind. The only thing I knew was that he had died because of me. Because he wanted to protect me. Yuri had killed him

The first raindrops started to fall, I felt every single one hitting my body and in a few minutes, it started to rain more heavily. Despite the rain I could still hear the guys searching. I could hear where they were standing, what they were saying. 

My hair was tied back in a ponytail so I could feel every single drop hitting my face. 

I started to walk a little further away as I looked around, behind bushes, behind trees, feeling the ground where it could be soft, a hole that Kibum might have dug and buried him. 

I had been walking and searching with thoughts occupying my head that I hadn't noticed the stream that I had gotten closer to. I stared down at the beautiful stream from afar as I listened to the rain and the water flowing, streaming through the forest. I swallowed hard. 

Listening and just standing here in silence was starting to help my stressed mind. I opened my eyes and looked at the stream again and soon my eyes looked at the other side of the forest across from where I was standing. 

I felt something weird on the other side of the stream and for a second I could swear that something moved over there. 

My instincts took over at an instant and without even thinking or hesitating I felt myself running to the other side and to the place where something had just moved. I looked around, sniffed and tried to find the scent but to avail. The scent was covered by the rain

"Donghae?" I stuttered and looked around

Nothing

"Donghae?" I asked again, not sure if I should walk any further into the forest

I let out a sigh, the small stream of hope that he just might be able but NOT the guilty one for turning me into a vampire was gone. 

I spun around and was about to walk back when I felt something suddenly piercing through my skin on the right side of my ribs and a hand covering my mouth

"You'll be okay"

Before collapsing I saw his face and I didn't have time to react or feel before everything was Dark. With my last breath I whispered his name and I felt the heaviness taking over my body and eyes

"Dong...hae"
