~Yumi~

The internet was no use. It gave me no information at all, except for the things that I already know. They need blood in order to survive. They are not alive. They don't breathe. They don't have a heart. They are... vampires.

The only creature in the world that would actually feed on blood is vampires and just by the reactions of the guys, of course I was able to make the conclusions of them being vampires. But how? How is that possible? Here? In this town?

I sat down silently in the Cafeteria, thankful for having the table by myself since this is what I needed, I needed to be alone. And Of course, being in a public place wouldn't do any harm right? They wouldn't risk that would they? But still, questions that I don't have an answer to is.. how is it possible that they can walk around in broad daylight? Shouldn't they be hiding somewhere dark? In a cave or anything similar to that? And also, they looked normal like any other student except for the exclusive clothing and fashion and outstanding looks.

"Yumi"

I was snapped out of my thinking and I gasped for air as I saw Changmin looking at me, bending down on the table as he looked into my eyes

"Please.. you have to let me explain"

"Stay.. away .. from me" I stuttered and got up from my seat

"Please Yumi.. I just need to explain. I won't hurt you I swear" Changmin said

I started to wobble my way out of the cafeteria, and clearly Changmin was following me down the hallway since I heard him running after me. Why did he have to show up now? When it was lunchtime?

"Yumi please"

Changmin's grip around my arm forced me to stop and spin around in order to face him. I swallowed hardly

"Yumi, all I need is a few minutes of your time. As long as you give me a chance to explain everything. We can do it.. on your conditions. Anything you want. If you want to meet up at a cafe, it's fine. It doesn't matter. Just... let me talk" Changmin said

I was scared, of course I was. He could break me with just his pinky finger. His strength was unbearable and I started to twist uncomfortably and he soon realized that he was holding onto me too hard so he let go and apologized. I rubbed my arm slowly and tried to understand why he was trying so hard to win this trust of mine. Why was it so important?

"Why are you even trying?" I whispered

"Because I haven't felt like this in centuries"

Changmin's words took me by surprise and I couldn't help but to stare at him

"Not in that way you silly. More like.. I can finally have a friend who knows everything.. and maybe.. understands me..My life..." Changmin said

I kept looking at him

"I know you don't have any class after lunch and neither do I. We can sit in the cafeteria and talk. Somewhere private. I don't mind.." Changmin said

"I don't know.. I.. "

"Please, You asked for the truth and here it is. If you want all of us there, I can call the guys and they will be there. We will answer everything that you would like to ask us, I don't mind. And neither do the others"

"I can't believe that you're trying to convince me to trust you.. after lying to me" I mumbled

"I never lied to you. I just.. avoided the subject and always found a way to talk my way through it but never did I lie to you" Changmin said

I could hear the honesty in his words and I kept looking at him

His eyes weren't like I had seen them yesterday. He looked so... normal. His eyes were filled with sincere honesty and also determination. It didn't look like I was going to be able to talk my way out of this. But I had to admit, I was curious

"Does anyone else know?" I breathed

"No. You're the first person ever since I was turned" Changmin mumbled

I stared at him in shock

"This is all new to us cause we've been very.. attentive with where we've been living, who we make friends with and also.. who we trust" Changmin said sadly

I could hear him. The loneliness speaking. I couldn't help but to pity them. Not only must it have been hard on them, they have to watch their backs everywhere they go and not do they only have to watch their backs, they had to help each other. I suddenly felt the desire to hug him, as in comforting him but touching Changmin now was way out of the question. Not only did my beliefs disappear about this world. If vampires exist, then there must be other creatures as well right?

I also hooked myself up on the word trust.. Who they were able to trust and since.. they have saved me .. not just once but twice from getting killed, that must be a sign of them trusting me somehow right?

I sighed

"So you guys trust me enough ... by letting me know your darkest.. and sacred .. secret?" I asked and looked at him

He looked at me seriously and soon enough nodded

"I do. And I hope it'll stay that way. You've proven yourself trustworthy to us. Let us prove that to you as well"

"What makes you think that I'm so trustworthy?"

Changmin chuckled happily

"Or else you would have been running around in town and tried to get rid of us. I don't know, calling the cops?"

"What could they possibly do?" I rolled my eyes

"Well.. nothing actually.. We would be able to get all of them down in one go" Changmin said honestly

I swallowed hard. They were faster than the light, stronger than any other and they feed on blood. There must be something else that they can do as well..

"You must have a lot of questions.. and we want to answer them for you. You deserve to know after... everything you've been through" Changmin said kindly

I coughed lightly

"I agree on that term"

"Let us prove.. that you can trust us too Yumi. We're friends aren't we?"

"How do I know that you won't use me now in order to drink my blood later on?" I said and crossed my arms over my chest

Changmin smiled

"As I said, we're friends. Although we're vampires, we're not animals. We're not.. uhm.. sharks. We have brains and we do use them"

"I don't get it.. how can it possibly be working.. you're not even alive..." I said confused

Changmin fired off a charming smile once again and tilted his head to the side

"The beauty of being a vampire" He joked

But those words were empty ones. Not only did the fake smile try to cover it up for it, he was actually trying to make it sound like.. the life of an vampire was easy. It can't be..

Hiding the entire time, watching your actions, your words and who you meet. If that wasn't already frustrating and emotionally tiring, then what else could be there?

I took a deep breath as I came to a decision

"Changmin.. you want to prove yourself trustworthy right? You want to win my trust back?" I asked

He nodded

"Yes.."

"I'll come by your house tonight. 8 Pm. This is your chance to prove yourself that you're a true friend to me" I mumbled

Changmin gasped

"Are you really willing to take that risk?" He asked unsure

"Is it a risk?" I asked dumbfounding him

"A house.. full of vampires.. in the middle of nowhere? Yes it is a risk"

"No Changmin. It's a house full of friends. Or at least they used to be. I know I'm not making any sense right now.. but I'd rather.. meet you guys at your mansion than going out.. it must be.. hard on you being out in the public" I mumbled

With that I spun around and started to wobble my way, slowly walking away from Changmin and I know that I have must left him in surprise and in shock. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into either but.. they had already saved me 2 times from getting killed. I'm sure it wasn't for nothing. And also... even though I am scared to death.. I was still worried for them.. Being out in the public means also taking risks. And they are taking enough with risks already...

I was just hoping.. more like praying that I would understand what I was getting myself into..
