"You think she got suspicious of us preparing the guestroom?" Yoochun asked

I was staring into the fire, as if I was hypnotized. I wasn't sure if she really was suspecting anything but.. there were a few things that was getting me confused.

"I don't think so" I mumbled and turned around

"You didn't see anything at all on your way here when you were following her car?" Yoochun asked and looked at Junsu and Yunho

Both of them shook their heads

"We had already been watching her house for 30 minutes when we saw her leave. If we wouldn't have seen her bag and her stuff she brought along, I guess we wouldn't know that she was spending the night here" Yunho said

"I don't think she was planning on doing so but she was only prepared" Changmin said as he entered the livingroom after showing Yumi to the guestroom

"She likes the room?" I asked

"She's inlove with it. She was squealing about the bathroom. I don't get the thing with girls and bathrooms" Changmin rolled his eyes which caused the rest of us to laugh

"Girls.." Yoochun shrugged

"How do you think she's taking everything? Obviously she doesn't seem frightened. As if she prepared herself for all of this" Junsu said

"Well her first time to meet vampires. I think it's the anticipation and the adrenaline of knowing that we actually exist, that's her reason to stay here" I said

"And?" Junsu asked

"And.. I also think that.. she's very.. easy going. Seems like she already have built some kind of relation to us which gives her the signal that we're not gonna hurt her. I'm not saying it's impossible but seems like her trust in us were already there before. She was just pretending perhaps" I shrugged

"I don't understand how her brain works" Changmin mumbled

"And you think the rest of us do?" Yunho chuckled

"I'm just saying" Changmin said while rolling his eyes

"She cares about us" I said, breaking the laughter that had broken out when Changmin and Yunho were joking. The guys turned themselves to me and looked at me seriously

"She cares about us. We've saved her life twice already and why is it that this small thing that she's doing, about her meeting us here instead of meeting out in the public, why did she do that? Isn't her life precious to her?" I asked

No one said anything

"She's one weird human being" Junsu said

"But a caring one. That's why I like her" Changmin smiled

Seems like they had put a lot of effort in fixing this guestroom. It was clean from floor to ceiling and the bed was enormous. The bathroom was wonderful and if I could, I would probably spend my entire life in there.

I walked out from the bathroom and started to put lotion on my body and afterwards I sat down on the bed, grabbed the pillow as I looked around.

I was actually spending the night at a house full of vampires. Not just any vampires because I bet a lot of girls would kill me if they were in my position but then again, I wanted to be here, I was hoping that they would accept me spending the night here because it felt like the hours we had been talking earlier wasn't enough for me to know them.

Afterall, they had been living for centuries.

I couldn't really understand my own actions, why I wasn't scared like a normal person would be, why I wasn't questioning the world, God most of all why he even created the world like this and just decided to have a few vampires, witches, werewolves and such in this world. And also, why I was risking my life, putting my life on stake just to get to know these guys

I let out a heavy sigh as I stared blankly ahead, trying to understand why I was here, why there was this.. attraction, me being drawn to them and also, why their life seemed so more adventurous than my own. I wasn't jealous of their lifestyle. I was curious

"Yumi?"

I looked up to see JaeJoong entering with an extra blanket and a pillow. My heart almost popped out of my chest as the thought of him sleeping in the same room with me hit me

"I brought some extra pillows and a blanket since I thought you might be cold" He said softly as he entered

I swallowed. I was pretty stupid wasn't I?

"Oh.. that was.. very thoughtful of you" I said slowly and sat up as I hugged the pillow and smiled at him

"Can I come in?" He asked

"Of course"

He entered and closed the door behind him as he approached the bed with the pillows and the blanket

"Is there anything you need?" He asked

"I feel like a royalty" I smiled happily

"Well.. it's.. the first time in many years.. that we actually had a guest spending the night at our house" He shrugged

"Sit" I said and nodded at the edge of the bed

He sat down and looked at me

"Cute" He chuckled

"What is?" I asked

"Your Pj's. And your hair. You look so natural" He said

"Is that a bad thing or a good thing?"

"A good thing because isn't there this saying about people who's naturally beautiful one of the most beautiful people in the world?" He asked

"Something like that"

He chuckled

"I'm trying to say that you look beautiful, with or without your make-up. So you don't need to use it. Your skin makes your eyes shine. It's compatible" He smiled

I immediately felt the blood rushing up through the veins and up to my face as I started to blush

"I should go. I guess you're very tired after having that conversation with us earlier" He smiled

"No stay.. I'm not tired at all" I said

That was the truth and is the truth. I wasn't tired. I was excited and fascinated in a way.

"Really?" He asked a bit surprised

"Really.." I smiled

He then smiled back at me and I felt the heart beating a little faster than usual. A sudden chuckle from JaeJoong caused me to look at him but he just kept smiling, looking a bit confused but happy

"What is it?" I asked

"Nothing"

"It wouldn't be nothing if you weren't laughing. Let me be a part of it as well"

"It's your heart" He said

"What about it?" I asked, starting to get nervous

"It's beating .. fast and I can't help but to feel a bit amused while listening to it. It can be normal first and then suddenly beating fast like a drummer who's drumming at a war. It's kind of amusing" He chuckled

"You.. can hear that?" I asked surprised and immediately started to feel embarrassed

"There's a lot of things I can hear. Changmin is right now trying to prove that Yunho made the wrong move in poker while Junsu is laughing since he's winning. Yoochun is having a glass of alcohol" He smiled

I closed my eyes and tried to listen to all those things he just said but the only thing I could hear was my own heart beating. I gave up and looked at him

"Exactly how far.. can you hear things? Like from range or so?" I asked curiously

"Very far. If I concentrate really hard, I can even hear you pulling out on the highway when you're about to drive the highway when you're on your way to the mansion" He shrugged

I gasped

"But that takes a lot of practice. You have to be able to hear the difference in different cars. Also the people who's driving it" He shrugged

"Have you ever tried to see how far you can actually hear things?" I asked

"Not really" He shrugged

"What about scents then?"

"Haha you're seriously gonna ask me that? I'm a predator. I hunt things. My instincts and senses are better than any other. You can also strengthen them if you practice" He said

"What kind of scent do I have?" I asked

I suddenly had to stare at him since that was a really stupid question that just happened to slip out of my mouth. He looked at me and raised an eyebrow and then just laughed at me

"You have a sort of vanilla scent. New.. freshly washed hair.. It smells unique" He smiled

"What about blood?" I asked

"What about it?" He asked, suddenly becoming a bit more attentive than earlier

"Is it different from person to person?" I asked

He leaned against the bedframe and nodded slowly

"Yes. It's different" He said seriously

The atmosphere suddenly became more serious than earlier and it was a bit tense but not in an uncomfortable way. At least not for me. JaeJoong didn't seem like he was uncomfortable but more like this was a topic that was hard to talk about. Well not hard but he didn't seem like he was willing to talk about it

"Do you remember how you got.. turned into a vampire?" I asked slowly

JaeJoong was off. He didn't react to my question and was quiet. Seems like he was running around in his own thoughts, forgetting that he was here in this room and talking to me

"Jae?" I asked slowly

He closed his eyes and looked up

"HUh?"

"What's wrong?" I asked

He smiled at me which seemed to be forced

"I should go. You need to rest.. Let's.. talk tomorrow okay?" He said

I swallowed hard. The more he was refusing my question, the more I wanted to know it. He was definitely hiding something. And it seemed like it was big and dark. I looked at him worriedly, suddenly feeling a bit down since JaeJoong was feeling a bit off.

"Why can't we talk now?" I asked

"Cause.. you're tired Yumi. You need sleep. I don't. I'm just looking out for you"

"Which I am thankful for. I will always be" I smiled

JaeJoong smiled at me slowly, his lips forming the smile slowly as if he was hesitating or confused, not really sure what I meant. I smiled wider at him

"One last question and I promise that if you don't want to talk to me then you can go and I'll force myself to sleep"

He rolled his eyes

"If you put it.. like that.. that would turn me into the bad one here"

"Well you are.. in a way" I shrugged

He laughed

"What is it?"

He was leaning against the bed now, waiting for my question. It was an easy question so there wouldn't be a problem with it.. would it?

"How old.. are you?" I asked

He was staring at me, piercing my eyes and I just got hypnotized, not being able to break my gaze off him. He then smiled

"You really want to know?"

"It's that bad?" I asked slowly

He chuckled

"Not really.. Forever young.. at least in looks" he shrugged

"Mind telling me.. or is it sensitive?"

"Why do you wanna know?" I asked

"It's.. normal.." I said

He chuckled but after a few seconds it died and he crossed his arms over his chest before looking up

"I'm.. 312 years old"

I kept staring at him since I was at loss

"I've been 24 years old for 312 years" He mumbled

I just kept staring since I couldn't really believe what he just said

"So that makes me the oldest vampire among the 5 of us"

I nodded slowly

"Surprised?" He asked, trying to joke in order to loosen up the atmosphere

"You must have been lonely" I whispered, as if I was talking to myself

I forgot about JaeJoong being able to hear anything and even though that whisper was only loud enough for me to hear, since I knew what I was saying, JaeJoong was able to hear that and he uncomfortably then coughed and headed for the door

"Good night Yumi" He said and in a second he was outside the room

"Night.."
