Wonsik's Confession

To the Moon

Where am I? You opened your eyes and glanced around, confused. Oh, this is my room. But why am I on the floor?

You sat up and yawned, glancing at Hakyeon who was sprawled out on the bed, still sleeping. Did he push me off?

Just moments later, your alarm went off to get up for work. Hakyeon didn't seem phased by it at first but after a few moments of you letting it ring, he woke up slowly.

You stopped the alarm and sat back down, sighing. "Yah, did you have to go this far?"

"What are you talking about?" He yawned, stretching before sitting up. "Why are you on the floor?"

"I wonder that too." You yawned after seeing him yawn. "You pushed me off sometime during the night."

"Did I?" He laughed lazily.

"Forget it." You smiled, standing up and stretching your back. "Oow, I'm sore now."

"Let's just stay here." Hakyeon lied back down. "I don't want to go anywhere."

"Too bad." You poked his nose, getting him to sit up again. "I always wake up an hour before I leave to get you guys. I'm going to wash up real quick, you can go ahead if you want."

"Nah, I'll wait." He smirked at you.

"ert." You gathered everything you needed. "I'll be out in a minute then."

"Yah, ert?" He whined. "I am not!"

"Mhm." You waved him away. "You keep thinking that."

You hurried into the bathroom and hopped into the shower, washing up quickly so that you could spend time with Hakyeon before the day starts. Once you were finished, you brushed your teeth and got dressed, drying your hair the best you good before joining Hakyeon back in your room.

He was looking through the things on your nightstand. "Find anything interesting?" You mumbled.

"Why do you have so many lollipops?" He glanced at you, pointing the jar full of them towards the back of the nightstand.

"I like them." You shrugged, taking two out. "Want one?"

He nodded, taking a grape one from your hand. "I didn't know you liked them."

You sat down beside him, popping the lollipop in your mouth. "Of course I do. I don't eat very many sweet things so I have a lollipop instead." You mumbled around it as he put his in his mouth as well.

"Understandable."

You glanced at the time on your alarm clock. "We have a half hour, do you want to eat or something?"

He grumbled something and then nodded. "Food sounds good."

"I don't make very good... Food. I can only make ramen." You frowned. "It's either ramen or we can go buy steamed rolls for everyone. Plus, you still have to get ready as well, you can't do your schedule dressed like that."

He glanced down at the very plain and loose clothing he was wearing. "Well that . Am I the idol or you?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"You dress better than me half the time anyways." He smiled.

"Well, I won't deny that." Your phone started ringing. "Oh, someone is calling and it's not you?"

"Maybe you do have friends after all." Hakyeon laughed as you picked it up.

"Hello?"

"____-ah!" It was your mother. "I haven't talked to you since the last time you visited, how are you?"

"Tired." You mumbled. "Why are you calling all of the sudden?"

"I saw an article recently about you." She sighed. "Do they cause a lot of trouble?"

"Article?" You looked to Hakyeon but he just shrugged. "What's it about?"

"It's not a bad one, it has no hard evidence behind it, but it seems to be targeting negatively at you."

"Me? What'd I ever do?"

"You should look at it."

"Okay, I'm putting you on speaker so I can look for it." You announced as you did just that and opened VIXX's page, seeing a new article posted from an unknown source. It was titled 'Which one is Mr. It?'. "That's not a very good picture of me. But the title is kind of catchy."

Hakyeon couldn't help but laugh when he saw the picture. "Oh? Do you have someone over this early?" Your mother spoke with surprise.

Hakyeon froze and you sent him a nasty glare. "What makes you say that?" You played if off as a joke as you opened the article. "Do I even have friends?"

"It sounded like a male voice too..."

"It's just Hakyeon, happy?"

Your mother seemed to giggle a little. "Sure."

Hakyeon pointed at his picture. "Look, I came out well."

"Do you ever not?" You countered. "What is this article? Are they trying to play matchmaker?"

"If you look past Hakyeon and your section, there is another member... Ravi?"

"Wonsik?" You gasped, scrolling down to see a picture of Wonsik and a section on him. "What is this?"

"They seem to be trying to figure out who you like most." Hakyeon tsked. "Look at this, we all have our individual pictures and then if you scroll to the bottom, there are pictures of you and I, then you and Wonsik."

"Seems people are catching on to Hakyeon and your relationship but I don't know where the other one came from." Your mother thought out loud.

"It's because she's too friendly with Wonsik too." Hakyeon took the phone and started typing a comment on the article, reading it out loud as he typed it. "'I don't believe this article, there is no proof of any of these assumptions. But if it were to be true, she'd most likely go for N. He's better looking and more talented than Ravi, in my opinion.'"

"Yah." You took your phone back as he published it. "You're lucky I'm not signed in so it went through as guest."

"Ravi is handsome too." Your mother countered.

"Yah..." Hakyeon whined.

You put her off speaker and sighed. "I'm going to let you go. We're going to eat breakfast before work."

"Okay, have fun today then." She hung up first.

"How can you post something like that?" You scolded Hakyeon.

"What? It's just an honest comment. You would've said it, I just saved you the effort of doing it yourself." Hakyeon smiled, taking out his lollipop. "Ah, this is really sweet."

"It's cause you picked grape. They always taste really sweet." You mumbled.

"Then what's your favorite?"

"Watermelon. It's the kind I have in my mouth right now."

"Switch me."

"Ew, no."

"___-ah, I want that kind." He protested.

"Then get one." You pointed to the whole jar full. "That's just nasty."

"What's the difference between swapping lollipops and kissing?" He gave you an odd look, your face heating as you remembered the kiss you two had shared last night.

"You're right, I need to go wash my mouth out with bleach." You joked, getting up and leaving, Hakyeon following quickly behind you.

"HEY! Are you saying you didn't like it?" He threw his lollipop away in the bathroom real fast and then came back after you. "You liked it, right? Don't lie to me."

"Hm... It was okay. But it still sickens me that it was you I kissed."

"Okay? Only okay?" He looked at you like you were crazy. "Are you crazy?"

"A little." You nodded, throwing your lollipop away as well.

Hakyeon approached you again and peered close to your face, your heart racing with the sudden nearness of him. "Yah, ___-ah, should we try again if it wasn't good enough?"

"H-Hakyeon!" You got ahold of yourself and pushed him away, leaving the living room and going into the kitchen.

You could hear his whining from here but he didn't follow.

I wonder why that article was posted today. It didn't pose any threat to the boys, just seemed to pose a threat towards me. But that's probably the intention. Fans probably hate the fact that VIXX has a girl manager now.

But, if the article was bad, the manager and the director would've called me by now so I'm not too worried about it. Let the reporters screw around, I just hope this is the only fun they'll get with VIXX.

--

"So, Hakyeon and Jaehwan went to record a podcast... Taekwoon and Hongbin went to their separate places for singing and acting..." You took notes aloud, turning to Hyuk. "Hey, when is the concert? Hakyeon and the manager went to set up the venue yesterday, correct?"

"Our concert is in two days. They only set up the audio, we have to go there and practice and set the rest of it up tomorrow." Hyuk responded from his seat in the van. "What else do we have, Noona? We finished our pictures up and it's not even 5pm yet."

"I know, they did it fast." You shifted, reading through the text the manager sent you. "Oh, Hyuk, the manager wants you within the same building as Hakyeon and Jaehwan because it seems like the three of you are doing something afterwards."

"What about me?" Wonsik looked surprised from the passenger's seat as you started the van and pulled out of the lot, heading towards the building you had dropped Hakyeon and Jaehwan off at earlier.

"I guess you're free today. Do you have any songs to practice or to write or something?"

"I always do..." He frowned but then smiling again, almost immediately. This guy changes moods faster than me, I swear. "We should do something together then."

"Hyung, are you asking for death? Hakyeon-hyung wouldn't let you live a day if you went out with his girlfriend." Hyuk warned.

"What's the matter with friends going out?" You countered. "I'll give me something to do while I wait around for the rest of you. Where do you have planned then?"

"We could go see a movie again? Is there any movies out that interest you lately?" Wonsik hesitated as if he didn't think you'd agree to come along.

"A movie would probably be the best option since we're operating on a tight schedule." You agreed. "I haven't really noticed any movies lately to be honest. Pick one that you like and it'll work fine for me."

"Okay." He smiled widely and went to his phone to look up movies.

"Noona, did you see the article that was posted last night about you?"

"The matchmaking one?"

"Yeah... The comments aren't very nice about you. I think it was put up there to insult you." Hyuk mumbled. "A few comments are ok-ish but most of them are negative and telling you to just quit."

"Of course it's aiming to insult me." You laughed. "I'm a girl who works closely with VIXX, how many fans do you think I anger every day?"

"That's true. I wonder how this reporter knows that you're closest with these two. Well, Hakyeon-hyung is easy cause you two get caught out a lot nowadays. But Wonsik-hyung is different."

"I know right? I was thinking the same thing earlier." You sighed. "Reporters are scary, honestly. I'm pretty sure they're just legal stalkers."

"You two should be careful when you go to see a movie." Hyuk gave his final say on this before going to his phone as well.

I was just thinking the same thing. If we get photographed this time, there is some serious stalking going on. How is it that reporters know where I go everytime I go somewhere?

--

"That was an interesting movie..." Wonsik mumbled. "I don't really think it was a good choice to go see. It was really confusing."

"I thought it was confusing as well." You nodded, the two of you making your way to the van.

"Have you been called to go pick up everyone else?"

"No, not yet." You smiled. "Let's go eat before they do call us."

Just as the two of you had gotten into the van, your phone rang. Wonsik and you shared a disappointed look as you answered it.

"____-ah!" Hakyeon was the one who had called you. "Come get me before I rot here!"

"Is everyone done there?"

"Yeah."

"Okay, I'll pick them up but I won't pick you up."

"Aw, that's cute." He spoke mockingly. "Try it."

You hung up and looked at Wonsik again. "I guess we'll just eat when we're all together."

Wonsik looked a little down about it but nodded anyways as you pulled out of the lot and towards the place Hakyeon was at.

"Taekwoon and Hongbin are still not ready to be picked up... Is that strange?"

"Hongbin is acting, his usually takes a while because even if he's done, he likes to sit around watching the others." Wonsik explained. "Taekwoon is usually stuck waiting for Hongbin since they left in the same vehicle together."

"That makes sense."

"____-ah..." Wonsik seemed hesitant.

"Hm?"

"You wanted to know who I liked... Right?"

"Yeah. Is it someone I know or someone that works in the company building? Or was it fan?" You smiled, getting the feeling he'd share some information with you.

"I told Hakyeon-hyung who I liked." He sighed, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. "I told him yesterday."

That makes sense. He got all bent out of shape when I talked about Wonsik liking someone. But why? Is she not a good person? "Yah, you told Hakyeon before me?" You laughed, joking around with him. "I thought we were close."

"Right? I feel like I should've told you before him." He mumbled. "He doesn't really take things well if he doesn't like them."

"Understandable." You nodded. "So stop breating around the bush and tell me, who do you like?"

He was silent for a while and stared out the window. "You. I like you."

You froze. "M-me?"

Wonsik shifted again and rubbed the nape of his neck. "Yeah... You."

"You're joking, right?" You glanced at him, seeing a little bit of red tint his cheeks. He's not joking... Is he?

"Yah, I know you don't like me. But you told me to at least try." He smiled hesitantly. "So I think it's fair to try, don't you?"

You hesitated. "Wonsik-ah... You shouldn't take my words to heart..."

"What is this? You're taking your words back? You can't do that! It leaves me with no hope..." Wonsik laughed nervously.

"Wonsik-ah..."

"Don't say anything about it. Just give me a fair shot, please?" Wonsik ducked his head.

"How can I give you a shot when..." You didn't want to hurt his feelings but you didn't want him to chase after you since you had no intentions of looking at someone else. "When you're the only one with those feelings..."

He was silent a while. "I don't think I can just not try... There hasn't been a thing in my life that I haven't tried for if I wanted it."

"Wonsik." You sighed. "I can't look at you too. I've only ever looked at you as a friend."

"Just don't talk about it anymore." Wonsik's voice sounded like it would break if he kept talking. "Forget I said anything."

He pulled out his phone and went to played his game quickly.

What do I do...? I feel so awkward and bad for him that I can't return his feelings. I hope we can just go back to being friends like we were before he confessed.

At least I realize why Hakyeon was upset now... He knew that one of his closest friends liked me... I'd be upset if Ha Yi started liking Hakyeon, so I get it. I would be upset because I knew that I wouldn't be able to help her since Hakyeon and I were the ones with feelings towards each other. Hakyeon must be feeling like that with Wonsik.

How can Wonsik like me? I don't know how to react...

--

"Good job with your schedules today, everyone! You all had very separate schedules but you all did very well!" The lead manager announced, standing at the table we were all at. "We'll end early today since the next two days will be packed and busy. We'll end it with our meal here."

The members all smiled at him as he sat back down in his chair. "Let's have a good meal then, hm?" You added.

Everyone started grilling the beef and eating their side dishes with that. Wonsik stole a glance at you before he starting eating as well.

"Yah, are you trying to kill me?" Hakyeon mumbled, moving his chair closer to you.

"Can you not?" You pushed his chair back away, afraid that Wonsik would get hurt seeing you two like that.

"What why not?" Hakyeon pouted. You accidently stole a look at Wonsik and he seemed to understand immediately. "Yah, we're the couple, not you and him."

"Hakyeon-ah..." You bit your lip with frustration. "What if it hurts him? I don't want to hurt him."

"It's Wonsik we're talking about." Hakyeon looked like he was slowly getting more and more grumpy. "You can't live according to his feelings! Just ignore them."

I don't want him grumpy but I don't want to hurt Wonsik. There's not much I can really do then. You sighed and turned away from Hakyeon, taking a few pieces of the grilled meat off the little stove and eating them quickly.

"Noona, what movie did you and Wonsik go see?" Hyuk asked suddenly, Wonsik looking up in surprise and Hakyeon piercing his at you. Oh dear. Hyuk why?

"A confusing one." You laughed nervously.

"You two went to see a movie and Wonsik isn't dead?" Hongbin was surprised as well. "Wow, our Hakyeon-hyung is really maturing."

You glanced at Hakyeon's stiff body and found him staring intently at Wonsik; Wonsik just trying to eat but fully aware of Hakyeon watching him.

"Yah, yah. Let's not talk about that anymore." You laughed again, putting a piece of beef in Hyuk's mouth so that he'd be quiet. "Hongbin, how was acting?"

"It was fun..." He gave you an odd look. "But our past conversation interested us more."

Jaehwan and Hyuk nodded vigorously in response.

"Do you guys want to end up dead?" You warned, smiling quickly to show that you were kidding. "Hakyeon-ah, eat your food."

Hakyeon glanced at you. "You went and saw a movie with him after he told you his feelings?"

"I saw it before he told me." You grumbled, putting beef in his mouth as well. "The movie didn't mean anything."

Hakyeon still looked grumpy so you grabbed his hand, keeping your joined hands under the table and out of view.

"Hakyeon-ah. Do you really think I'd be like that?" You mumbled. "We were friends before he announced that he liked me and we're going to stay friends. I like you so you don't have to worry about me going to Wonsik. I'm not like that."

He sighed. "I know. I just don't like that he likes you."

You let go of his hand. "You think I'm comfortable with it? I'm hoping that he doesn't really like me and he just mistook it for something else."

"Sure." Hakyeon scowled again.

What else could it be? There's no way it could be something else.

"Just eat and be happy, Hakyeon." You mumbled.

"Eat and be happy." He mocked. "I am happy."

"Then eat." You pointed at his food. "You haven't even touched it."

"Why are you nagging me so much?" He grumbled as he spooned some rice into his mouth.

"Because I like you." You smiled.

Hakyeon couldn't help but smile and ate more. It's almost too easy to please this idiot.

I really hope Wonsik and I can continue being friends without any awkwardness between us...

This chapter is a little short, sorry for that. The next chapter will probably be another long one anyways so enjoy this short little chapter. It was short for a reason, I promise :) Thanks for reading and subscribing! ~PandaBiscuit~

Chapter 50: This was a pleasant story overall. At the end I found it too focused on her mother's departure than on the couple. Many things have happened since they met. At the beginning he didn't want her to know him too well, now he's suffering because she doesn't show enough interest. But it was a beautiful ride. Good job, author-nims.
