Hakyeon's POV

To the Moon

How could you let yourself fall, Hakyeon? How could you love someone again? You should know better... You should've learned your lesson when Tae Hee left.

"Hyung!" Hyuk's voice sounded just outside the hotel room. "Hyung! I forgot my key, let me in! Hyung!"

Swiping at my eyes, I took a deep breath and got off the couch, making my way over to the door to let Hyuk in. "How could you forget the key?" I hit the back of his head as he scurried in to the room to find the key. "Where are the others?"

"Uhh, that's a good question." Hyuk paused to answer and then continue.

"What? You don't know where they are? Weren't you with them?"

"Yeah but then I had to come back and get the key and before I even left them, they started wandering off." Hyuk explained, finding the key in the drawer of the end table. "Why aren't you with us? You've been unenthusiastic since we arrived here. Are the rumors true, hyung?"

I shook my head, seating myself back on the couch. "No, they're false. Go find them and have fun. It's the last day we get to be in Tokyo, after all."

"Wait, but didn't you have a girl at the dorm a while back?"

"Yes but she isn't anyone close. I told you why she was there."

"Oh well. Come with us." Hyuk insisted. "We all notice that you're upset with something but we can't help because we don't know what is wrong. Just come with us, think of it as our way to cheer you up. Yeah?"

"No thanks." I shook my head. "I'm exhausted, I want to rest before getting back to our schedules in Seoul."

Hyuk nodded slowly and patted my shoulder. "Fighting, Hyung!" He left the hotel room slowly, leaving the room in silence.

Pulling out my phone, I found myself staring at ___'s last text, which was so short... I felt so greedy and pathetic for wanting more when I didn't deserve it.

From: ____ <3

I'm sorry.

"Why are you sorry? I'm the one who said all those nasty things to you. I said those things to you so that you wouldn't try to contact me... It was meant as help for myself but I ended up hurting you in the end." I sighed at the phone, closing the app and opening another to browse the scandal we were involved in.

The scandal was dying down a little, on the bright side. There was no way she could have seen the reporter hiding there when she wasn't looking for it but I couldn't help but feel a little betrayed. Not by her, but by the media. You could be a great person for your whole life but one wrong thing, even if it's not true, can make people hate you for a long time. And this seemed to be one of those things to hate me for, which I guess I kind of deserve it. I wasn't a great person.

I should've never allowed her to meet me... I only agreed to meet her because I was interested in her but... The more I kept meeting with her, the more that changed. I was angry with myself for treating her badly, upset that I couldn't talk to her, and embarrassed for assuming that she felt the same way towards me as I did towards her. It just... Felt like she liked me, too. I guess I was wrong.

My cellphone began ringing, startling me back to reality. Checking the caller ID, to find out it was my manager, I answered it. "Yeah, hyung?"

"Are you sure you're even N, or let alone, Hakyeon?" He scolded me through the phone.

"Huh?"

"How can you not be hanging out with the members? You love doing that."

"I'm really tired lately." I mumbled.

"I'm going to ask you one last time, was the scandal true? Did she come from our dorm?"

"Ask the others."

"I have, none of them will answer me."

"Well, it's not true." I sighed, playing with my jacket zipper. "Hyung, let's just forget about the scandal and take our time going back to Seoul."

"Lying makes things worse, are you lying?"

"No."

He sighed through the phone. "You have a schedule to attend to in Seoul, Hakyeon."

"I do, don't I? I'm hanging up."

"WAIT!"

"What?"

"Go down to the lobby and help Hyuk carry in the presents from the fans. They've been inspected mulitple times since the concert so they are safe to eat and handle."

"Hyuk is still at the hotel?"

"Yeah, the others took the van and left Hyuk so he's been down here trying to call them. I told him to take the bags up but he can only carry two and there are four."

"Four?"

"Yeah, you guys need to stop getting so popular."

I chuckled slightly. "Sure, tell Hyuk I'll be there." Hanging up, I threw the phone on the couch and left the room, taking the elevator down to join Hyuk.

I adjusted the hoodie over my hair and aimbled out into the lobby, finding Hyuk as he carried two trash bags full of gifts. "Hyung!" He smiled. "The other two are over there." He nodded his head at our security guard.

I nodded and went over to the security guard. I put the two bags over each shoulder like Hyuk and turned to leave. "Hakyeon." The security guard stopped me.

I turned back towards him and tilted my head slightly. "What?"

"Take this." He put a blue envelope into my half-zipped jacket pocket. "It was delivered to the dorm the day of your concert. We didn't look through it considering only family knows where your dorm is. It has your name on the front."

"Huh. Thanks." I dipped my head to him and joined Hyuk in the elevator, pressing the floor button with my foot since our hands were full.

"Is it a love letter?" Hyuk questioned me, nodding at the envelope I was given.

"No." I shut him down quickly. "Don't worry about what's in this letter." Even I don't know.

We arrived at the room and Hyuk dropped one of the bags so that he could open the door. We placed the bags on the couches, ready to be looked through when the others returned. "I'm going to go wash up." Hyuk announced, heading towards the washroom.

I nodded and sat on the floor with my back to the window that out looked Tokyo. Pulling out the envelope, I exaimined my name on the front of the letter. I don't recognize this handwriting. I opened the envelope carefully and widened my eyes at the sender.

Hakyeon,

Uh, hey. By the time you get this letter, you will probably be back from Japan. I made sure to send this right on your concert day. I was going to text you this but... You deleted my number and honestly, I couldn't delete yours. Everything I said to you when you visited me before you went to Japan was a lie. I feel horrible for it but I was just so frustrated because you didn't want me to like you. But... I like you. No... I'm pretty sure I love you. I liked HaJoon but I'm in love with Hakyeon. I know that now. This might get thrown out before it's given to you but I had to try either way. I made sure to remember your address when I went to your dorm that one time. I'll forget the address though, I promise. I understand why you don't want to like me and why you won't accept my love either, I get it. So, don't contact me back, for your sake. I won't be able to let you go if you try to contact me. I just wanted to say this that way we can end things without regrets. Jeez, I sound all sappy. I tried not to be sappy but I sound that way, don't I? Alright, I'm going then. Bye then, Hakyeon

-____<3

I stared at the letter, completely shocked. I want to see her. I wish I could see her. How could she lie to me? How can I even be angry that she lied to me after what I did to her? My heart ached and I let out a shaky breath to try and calm myself down.

I pulled out my phone and opened Taekwoon's contact. Only Taekwoon knows my situation. I only trust him to talk about things like this. Since he doesn't talk much anyways, it's a plus.

To: Taekwoon

Hey, we need to talk. Prepare to do so when you return, I know you'll listen and that's all I need right now.

From: Taekwoon

Sure, I'll listen.

--

"Why are you in Suwon? You have things to do, Hakyeon!" My manager yowled at me through the phone.

"I know, I know. I'll be back soon, I promise." I hung up and went to step out onto her road but froze when I saw her standing outside her apartment.

What is she doing? I went to step out yet once more but froze again when a familiar figure appeared behind her, approaching her with a smile. Hyun Shik? I watched as they smiled, linked arms, and walked into her complex together. Huh? Why are they so close? I thought she liked me... I was only gone a week, a person can't change that fast, can they?

Shaking my head with a sad heart, I started heading back. "Wait!" A familiar voice called towards me and grabbed my wrist. "You came here so don't just leave like that."

I fixed my hoodie and turned to look at her. It was ____'s friend, Ha Yi. "Just know, I'm trying really hard not to squeal and hug you." She smiled, her eyes lit with excitement. "I'll call you HaJoon if you want me too. Come on."

I opened my mouth to protest but recieved a slight glare from her and decided to just shut my mouth and follow her. "How did you know it was me being HaJoon?" I grumbled, falling instep behind her.

"____ told me. She told me when you left after your visit before Japan. She was heartbroken with no one to turn to so she spilled it. You can't blame her." Ha Yi explained, leading me up the complex stairs. "I haven't seen her this upset since her father died back in high school."

"Her father died?"

"Yeah, that's why she hates her mother." Ha Yi frowned at me, pausing just outside their apartment door. "If you're curious, ask ___ about it. It is something for her to tell you, not me."

"I don't want to come in." I protested, wanting to leave. "I'll go."

"Too late." Ha Yi mumbled, opening the door and shoving me inside.

I lashed around and glared at her, pleading with my eyes for her to let me go but she just shook her head, went in, grabbed Hyun Shik, and left the apartment. I went to open the door to leave when ___ walked out into the living space from the kitchen. "Hyun Shi... Where'd he go?" She turned her head towards me and I turned around, facing away from her. "Who are you? Are you a friend of Ha Yi? I heard her just now, where is she?"

I shrugged, going to leave but having her grab my wrist. "Hey! You're Ha Yi's guest, I can't just let you leave without an explaination." She protested, leading me over to her couch and sitting me down. Her eyes fell on the ring on my finger and she reached out to touch it with her finger. "Hey, how'd you get this ring?" She brought her eyes up to mine and peered through the hoodie, pushing it off my head. "Hakyeon?"

"Uh, hey." I waved to her, awkwardly, and then put my hand back down.

"Why are you here?" She questioned me, her expression unreadable. "You're the one who didn't want me to contact you first."

I lowered my gaze, unable to look her in the eyes once more. "I'm sorry, I'll leave."

"But why are you here? And the ring, you haven't thrown it out yet?"

"Why would I throw it out?" I sighed, searching her neck for the necklace I gave her but it wasn't there. I nodded slowly. "I should, shouldn't I? You've already thrown out your necklace."

She left the room for a moment and returned with the necklace dangling from her hands. With a sigh, she nodded as well. "You wanted me gone and told me to leave but couldn't even throw out a cheap, pointless ring. You told me to go and told me that you would delete my contact information but yet I couldn't even throw out a necklace." She chuckled a little and sat beside me. "We haven't even dated or known each other long enough to date yet why does this feel like a break up?"

"Because it is, stupid." I couldn't help but laugh. "People don't have to date to break up."

"You're still calling me stupid!" She scowled, putting the necklace down on the coffee table, and looked back at me. "Can I call you Hakyeon?" I nodded. "Then, Hakyeon, why are you here? Answer me honestly. I want to know if I can welcome you in here or boot you out the door." She added once more before turning it over to me, "And if it's pity party, I'll beat you before I kick you out."

I chuckled again and nodded. "Fair enough. I came because I wanted to see you. I read the letter you sent me while I was in Japan. If I wasn't still in Japan, I would have ran to you. That's what I wanted to do."

"What would running do? Maybe I don't want you here."

My smile disappeared. "Then I'll leave."

"Oh my god, Hakyeon!" She grabbed my arm and pulled me back down. I looked at her with shock. "Did I say I wanted you to leave? It was a joke!"

"Then look like you're joking." I tsked at her. "So I told you why I'm here, can't I leave now?"

"We haven't made up yet!"

"It sounds like we did!" I protested. "What do I have to do?"

"What! It sounds like we made up to you?" She yowled.

"Yah, yah! Calm yourself down!" I grumbled. "What do you want me to do? How do we make up if we aren't already?"

"You have to kiss me."

"Kiss you?" My eyes widened with shock.

"Yeah, kiss me!"

"No thanks, let's just stay on bad terms." My face felt hot.

"Yah, you kissed me on the forehead before and tried to pull it off as if it was normal when it wasn't!"

"You can't just demand a kiss!"

"Fine don't kiss me, leave then." She pointed towards the door.

"Sure!" As I was going to stand up, I quickly leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on the tip of her nose, and then stood up and took off for the door.

"YAH!" She yowled with surprise.

"We made up! I'm texting you tomorrow, make sure you look for my text!" I mumbled as I bolted out of the door and down the stairs of the complex, running into Taekwoon. "Taekwoon? How and why are you here?"

The two of you exited the complex and started towards down the hill to the road. "I followed you." He spoke softly. "I figured it would go bad and wanted to be there. But it went well."

"Sneaky." I put my arm around his shoulders and chuckled. "We made up so fast, I thought she was going to boot me out the second she saw me."

"I would."

"Hey!" I removed my arm and hit him in the back of his head, recieving a death glare but just smiled at him anyways. "Thanks, Taekwoon."

The two of us fell into silence as we walked. It wasn't abnormal for him to be silent but for me, it was a rarity when I was around him. But it didn't feel odd or anything and instead felt very relaxing.

We made up a lot faster than I thought but I'm glad we did. If it was dragged on any longer I don't think I'd be able to live. This time around, I'm going to make time for her. Even if I can't see her physically, I'll call her. It's true, I don't want to be a couple but I think I'd rather be a couple than be nothing at all. Being a couple... Scares me. I vowed never to be a couple with anyone else again after Tae Hee. Tae Hee... ___ reminds me a lot of Tae Hee if I'm honest.

But hey, let's give it a shot. I think that's the best I can do for now, to get completely over Tae Hee.

Hey! So here's Hakyeon's chapter! I can't wait to further explain who this Tae Hee is. She'll be making appearances in these future chapters. :) Anyways, thank you SO much for continuing to read and thank you for subscribing! The next chapter will be posted on Thursday! Thank you again! <3 ~PandaBiscuit~

Chapter 50: This was a pleasant story overall. At the end I found it too focused on her mother's departure than on the couple. Many things have happened since they met. At the beginning he didn't want her to know him too well, now he's suffering because she doesn't show enough interest. But it was a beautiful ride. Good job, author-nims.
