19. Illiana - Mrs Jung's Huge Assignment

A car was driving next to me, while I was walking home from work. This black car kept driving next to me. Finally the car stopped.

Someone walked out.

“Illiana” I didn’t need to hear more, I already knew who it was. My lovely dark eyed boyfriend.

“hey, why’d you scare me like that, it’s really creepy when a car follows you, you know.”

“I’m sorry, I got a new car.”

“You are crazy” I smiled brightly at him. “It’s a nice car.”

He walked up to me. “Get in, let’s pick up Lucas.”

He came closer to me, closing the gap I put my arms around his neck. I moved my hands in his brown hair, as a response he tangled one hand in mine. Closing my eyes I could feel his breath on me. I smiled.

Lingering for that kiss, for his touch. His thumb brushing over my lips. Tilting my head, and than his thumb stood still on my lips.

“I will get my revenge”

I felt hands on my neck, strangling me, I gasped for air and looked who was in front of me, this wasn’t Kyuhyun anymore it was, it was …

I sat up in my bed, breathing heavily, my hands go straight to my neck. Wait, it was just a dream. I really didn’t have Cho Kyuhyun with me. I was in my PJ’s in my bed with a big storm outside, so my brother was sleeping next to me, he really hated it when it stormed outside in the night.

I must’ve shaken the bed pretty hard while shooting up. My brother asked while sleeping. “You okay sis?, it’s been 4 months that you done this.”

4 months, 4 months I didn’t see not spoke to him again. I finally managed to find the first note he ever gave me in the backstage changing room.

I have to go back on stage, just rest for now. I’ll come back for you.

Would he still have it? Would he remember me? Probably not with all the fan girls giving him several gifts. Then I thought about the second note.

“I’m ok, Lucas, Just had a bad dream, go back to sleep.”

“You had that dream again?”

“Uhu”

“You’re still not over him, what about the guy from work Alex?”

“You know I like him but “ I sighed

Yes I did the short program at the university but it was only for 4 months and I graduated last week. Mrs Jung was pleased and gave me a job in the design department of the Jung Agency. That meant designing intros, logos, posters, … for different programs and campaigns. There was this one guy, Alex in the department who helped me out with everything last week. He was cute green eyed, nice smile, dark brown hair.

“You don’t like like him, right?” Lucas stated. What was he trying to say? I knew 3 months ago he kept a secret, this had something to do with it, if I had someone I liked. Lucas never cared but still in the last month he kept asking for it like every time I met a new guy. But the little punk his eyes where already closing, he was so sleepy.

“No I don’t, go back to sleep you got school tomorrow” I whispered.

“ok”

I petted his head until he fell asleep again. I took my cell phone – oh yes I got one Suzy kept bothering me – and went through my phone list.

Suzy made sure I had his number. But in those 3 months I got the number I didn’t even dare to call him.

What would I say, hey remember me, the one who gave you troubles.

Although the paparazzi still didn’t know my name, which I was glad I was afraid Ethan would have spilled it but he didn’t, the paparazzi still tried to figure out my name.

But they wouldn’t recognize me anymore. After all the commotion I got after the airport (apparently some fans took pictures and filmed the scene between us) I coloured my hair in a dark shade of brown and cut it short, just above shoulder length. Before I had very very long blond curly hair. My hair was still curly though. At least now they left me alone, not only me but they were bugging my little brother too. I hated it that I couldn’t always protect him.

I owed a lot to Suzy who took him under her wing. When I was at work or at school and she always got a driver to pick him up from school and brought him to her. I was really so grateful.

Now the peace had been returned but the dreams kept coming, like the one I had just a couple of minutes ago. I still had my finger on the phone number. With our time difference of 9 hours it would be noon. Without knowing it I pressed call.

“shhh** don’t call don’t call” I didn’t find the red telephone to shut it off. “Damn where is that stupid symbol” I whispered.

When I found it.  “Illiana?” I heard a familiar voice but too late I already pressed it off.

Did he pick up? Or was I dreaming? For sure I was dreaming it, right? If he really did pick up, he’ll call back right?

I slapped my hand in front of my mouth and I stared at my phone in my hand. I didn’t know what to do else. I froze. I needed to stop doing that.

I heard my phone going off I sat up and picked it up. “Hellow” I picked up my phone in stead of putting out the alarm. I heard very loud music in my ear.

“Sis, the alarm, it’s the alarm.” Lucas said in very sleepy voice next to me.

“What?”

“The alarm, put it out” He was getting annoyed.

I looked at my phone. Oo right. Lucas took it out of my hands and put it out. Then he put the phone on the night stand.

“Why’d you pick up your phone? When it was the alarm.” Lucas said while stretching.

“I thought it was my phone that rang, I’m sorry.” I was so confused. When did I fall asleep. I took my phone back in my hands, no missed called. So he didn’t call, so it really was a dream.

I let out a sigh and went downstairs to make breakfast and Lucas’ lunch. Lucas came downstairs and looked at the lunchbox.

“euh Sis, you sure you are alright? It’s Wednesday I told you I was going with Leo, to finish our biology project. I don’t need a lunchbox.”

I looked at it and remembered it. “right, no problem I’ll take it with me to work than”

“You don’t work on Wednesdays.” He came up to me put his hand on my forehead. “Are you sick, you don’t feel hot” he said concerned. He looked at me.

“I’m alright”

“Still there is something.” He looked very suspiciously at me.

Suzy’s driver was here to pick up Lucas and drive him to school.

“Take care of yourself, sis. OO and when you go to the supermarket. Could you bring me those little chocolate crackers?” He ran out of the door and stepped in the car. He must’ve been used to the car. He got his own driver, so fun for him. I smiled. I went upstairs and dressed myself.

I looked at the clock 8am. To early to go to the shops. I went to my bed stand. Opened the first drawer. I reached inside to take out the 2 notes. The only two things I had left. And the hat but that was my brothers.

My phone ringed. I looked at the caller ID

Mrs. Jung

It was my day off, so what did she need. I picked it up.

“Hello, Mrs Jung”

“Illiana, honey, I need you do to something big for me.”

“Ok, mrs. Jung what is it?”

“Well, this isn’t easy to ask, but I have a big assignment for you and Suzy. It’s a huge deal and I need you and my daughter on it.”

“Yes, fine” I had a feeling there was more than just this assignment.

“It’s not that easy to agree, Illiana. It’s an overseas assignment and it’s from a huge company.”

“I’ll take it.” I said feeling a little confused, what was the problem I worked on a huge job with Alex last week. Although it was my first week there, mrs. Jung trusted me with it.

“Don’t be so fast, Illiana, I didn’t tell you the half of it, now….”

“So what is the problem, Mrs. Jung, I did a big assignment last week with Alex. No big deal.”

“No, Illiana, it’s nothing like that. You will have to go overseas to the company itself, Suzy has to go with you. I don’t know how long you will be there.”

“Where?”

“Seoul, South-Korea”

“What, where?”

“Seoul?” Mrs. Jung repeated gently.

“Mrs. Jung, how can I possibly go to Seoul?, What about my brother?”

“OO that, I’ve already arranged an apartment for you guys. I’ve arranged everything, like cars, school for your brother, No need to worry, you won’t miss anything.” Mrs Jung sounded so exited.

“Mrs. Jung, I don’t even get time to think?” This was happening to fast.

“No, you don’t, you guys are the only ones in the company who can speak Korean so you’re leaving in two days. Be ready”

“YAH, Mrs. Jung ….” Damn she hung up.

Was she crazy? How could I possibly leave in two days?
