Jessica's POV:

I saw the girls hugging each other when the whistle was blown to end the match. When they were walking out from the court, I heard Ms Lee calling all her players to gather around. I noticed Jae looking at me as I smiled and showed her a thumbs up. That was when I felt someone tapping my shoulders.

Turning to my side, I saw Uee standing there. Tiffany who was sitting beside me, immediately scooted closer.

"Excuse me, but can I talk to you for a while?" Uee said as she turned to look at Tiffany. "In private, please."

"Sure. Do you want to talk here or somewhere else?" I asked as I felt Tiffany's hands on my lap.

"Maybe we can go to that corner?" Uee replied as she pointed to a corner which is just a short distance away from the bench.

I nodded my head and Uee turned around to walk away first.

"Jessi, are you going to be okay by yourself?" Tiffany asked with a concerned look as I stood up from the bench.

"I'll be fine. You'll run to my rescue if anything happens right?" I smiled as I saw Tiffany frowned.

"I won't be the one who will be running to you. She will." Tiffany said as she pointed to Jae who was obviously watching me. "I don't think she's even listening to Ms Lee right now."

I smiled when I saw that Jae was frowning as she continued to watch me by stealing glances at my direction. I made a small heart sign to her before I walked towards Uee who was waiting for me.

Uee's POV:

I couldn't get it off my mind about the fact that Jae already had a girlfriend and the fact that they had shared information about me. 'What did Jae told Jessica about me? How did they meet? What's so special about Jessica that made Jae fell for her? Does Jessica know that Jae is rich? Is she taking advantage of Jae's wealth?'

All these questions clouded my mind and it made me feel really curious. I needed answers and I'm not sure if I will ever have any other opportunity besides during this tournament. Jae's words kept repeating in my head. 'My girlfriend.' 

Does she have to sound so protective? I envy that. Jae's protective character that I've witnessed before when me and her were still friends. How she will always take care of me when I was bullied by other students in midddle school. She and Taeyeon will always be there for me. Both of them were really fun to be around with. Their dorky and carefree character never fail to make me smile everyday. If only I could turn back time, I would have make things clearer right at the start.

I stood at the corner while I waited for Jessica. I noticed that Jae kept glancing at her with a worried expression as I saw how she smiled when Jessica gave a small heart sign to her. I bite my lips to held in the pain in my heart. 'Park Hyun Jae, do you really love her that much?'

When Jessica arrived, I smiled and bowed slightly to her. We were quiet for 5 seconds until she suddenly asked me a shocking question.

"Do you still have feelings for Jae?"

I looked at her with a surprised expression, totally not expecting her to ask me that. "How.. how did you know about this?"

"For someone to keep messaging a person who never replied even once for the past 5yrs, I don't think you're just seeking forgiveness from Jae." She replied as she gestured me to sit down.

"I... I... How much do you actually know about me? How did you know that I've been messaging Jae for the past 5yrs? Did Jae told you or was it Taeng? How long have you and Jae been in a relationship? Do you really know who Jae really is?" I couldn't stop asking her all the questions that kept popping out in my head right now.

"Wait, wait.. There's too many questions for me to answer all at once. Do you have time to spare for me to answer all of that?" Jessica replied.

I looked around and realised that my Busan Team were already starting to play their 2nd match for the day as the Busan cheerleader team were gathered at the sideline. "In that case, can we meet up one day? Just the two of us. Maybe on one of the weekends after this tournament. I will drive down from Busan to meet you. I need to get back to the team soon since our match is already on-going." I answered.

"I can't promise you anything yet. I will need to talk it out with Jae first. Ask her opinion and permission on this." Jessica said as I frowned a little. "Just a question. You don't have a problem if Jae wants to tag along, right?"

I paused and pondered for a while. 'Will it really be okay if Jae is around during the meet-up? But I need answers.' In the end, I nodded my head slowly as I gave her my phone number just at the same time as I heard a familiar voice calling out for Jessica.

(30mins later)

"Andwae. Why do you have to meet up with her? I don't agree." I frowned the moment Jessica ended her explanation. 

Both of us were already in the bus that was making way its way back to our campus. I saw Jessica sighing and leaning back into her seat.

"That is why I'm asking for your opinion and permission, Jaegi. Since you don't allow me to meet her, then I won't meet her." Jessica said as she pouted and turned her head to look out the window.

From her tone of voice, I knew she was disappointed with my decision. I had walked up to Jessica and Uee earlier while they were talking to each other at the hall but after I called out Jessica's name, Uee suddenly excused herself and walked away to join the rest of her team.

"Are you upset with me?" I asked as I reached out to grab Jessica's left hand that was on her lap.

"Anni." Jessica replied as she shook her head without turning to face me.

I sighed as I started to rub her palm with my thumb. "Do you really want to meet her?" I asked again softly as Jessica turned to face me and just looked at me with puppy eyes and a pout. "Aigoo, my dear Sicababy. Why do you have to be so cute?"

"Shall we go and meet her together? I've asked her if she's fine about you tagging along and she just nodded her head." Jessica said as she suddenly wrapped her hands around my arm. "But if you really think that we shouldn't meet her, I won't."

I looked at Jessica who had a serious expression on her face as I bite my lips and frowned a little. My actions caused Jessica to place her thumb on my forehead.

"Told you not to frown." She said as she leaned on my shoulder. "I knew you're in a dilemma right now. I'm not forcing you, Jaegi. I didn't even promise Uee that I will meet her up. I told her that I will talk it out with you first."

I smiled a little when I heard it. To know that Jessica actually thought of seeking my opinion and was considerate of my feelings, made me feel touched. I her hair and kissed the top of her head. "Let me focus on the tournament first and we'll take about this again after that. Is that okay with you?"

"I'm fine with it as long as you're okay with it." Jessica replied as I felt her tightening her hug around my arm.

Both of us ended up taking a nap until Sooyoung woke us up when we reached the campus.

I was abruptly woken up by a violent vibration done on my shoulder as I snapped open my eyes to see a grinning Taeyeon.

"Yah... Mwoya?" I said groggily as I tried to find my blanket before covering my whole body.

"Jae, wake up. Emergency meeting right now. Ms Lee just send me a message about who our next opponent is." Taeyeon shook my body again. "The girls are waiting for us in the living room."

"We're going against XXX university right?" I said as I peeped from the corner of my blanket while I watched Taeyeon's shocked expression.

"How did you know? Did Ms Lee send you a message too? But the rest of the girls said that they didn't receive any message." Taeyeon replied as she kept looking at her own phone.

"Taeng, XXX university beat Handong university 5-0 in their first match. I don't have to watch their return match to know the final results." I said as I sat up straight. "What time is it anyway?"

Taeyeon shoved her phone into my face, showing that it was already 11pm. I smacked her head in retaliation as both of us ended up wrestling each other on my bed.

"Yah!! No wonder it took you both so long to come out. Both of you! Living room right now!" Yuri stood at the door with both hands placed on her hips before walking away.

A minute later, 5 pair of eyes were staring at each other with a lost expression. After they saw the message from Ms Lee, everyone was lost for words. In that message, Ms Lee informed that XXX university had advanced to the semifinal after beating Handong university with a scoreline of 7-2.

"7 goals? That's a lot if you asked me." Sooyoung suddenly said as everyone snapped back to reality.

"I think the only reason Handong team were able to score two goals was because XXX players were already assured of their advancement and had taken things lightly in the second match." Hyoyeon said as everyone nodded their heads.

"Look. The other match is between Busan university and YMC university. Yaaaahhhh.... They're doing well as newcomers." Yuri said as she pointed to the bottom half of Ms Lee message. "Busan beat Yonsei university with an aggregate of 3-1 while YMC advanced with 5-2, beating Seoul university."

"Mwo? They beat Seoul team? They were our opponents in the finals last year, right?" Hyoyeon asked with eyes wide open.

"Ms Lee told me that the previous coach from Seoul university had actually transferred to YMC university early this year. Maybe that's the reason for their good performance in this tournament. I think..." Taeyeon was not able to continue her sentence when my phone beeped.

To Hyun Jae:

Just something to boost your morale. You're currently the top scorer in this competition with 10 goals. The next player on the list is someone from YMC university with 7 goals. Keep up the good work.

I didn't even noticed when the other 4 girls had gathered around me and were peeping at the message that Ms Lee had sent to me.

"Oh my god!! Jae's in the lead for the golden boots award." Sooyoung said excitedly. "But why do you look uninterested, Jae?"

Before I could open my mouth, Yuri had already intercepted me by saying that I'm more interested in winning the championship trophy for the team than my own personal glory.

"But what if you win the golden boots but we lost in the final? It'll be really awkward for you to receive that trophy." Sooyoung asked and once again, I was intercepted. This time round it was Taeyeon.

"The only time that happened was in middle school. When Jae was forced to drop out from the team due to what happened between her and Uee." Taeyeon said just as the atmosphere turned awkwardly silent with the mention of Uee's name.

"Oh no. Will it be like the curse of Uee? Uee came back into Jae's life. Jae becoming top scorer but we lost in the finals." Hyoyeon suddenly said with a poker face after 5 seconds of silence.

"Yah!!!" I threw a pillow right at Hyoyeon's face. "Stop saying nonsense especially with that poker face of yours and stop intercepting me. By the way, she didn't come back into my life. We just met for a while. That's all." I said as I glared at the other girls who were chuckling nervously at my seriousness.

"What I fear is that XXX university will be very motivated to ensure that they beat us since we were the one who knocked them out from the tournament last year." Taeyeon said as everyone kept silent.

"Anyway, did anyone saw Ailee just now? I don't seem to have seen her around earlier at the hall." I asked as the girls suddenly grinned at me.

"Wae? Why were you looking out for her? Did you miss her?" Yuri teased as everyone pretended to gasp. "We should tell Sica about this."

"I was just looking out for a friend. She's our friend, right?" I said as they started to tease me. "That's enough. By the way, if you want to tell Sica about it, go ahead. I'm confident that she'll understand my intention. Lately, she has been surprising me with her matured mentality towards our relationship and glad to say that I've never felt happier about it." I grinned when I remembered the past instances where Jessica had proven her maturity.

"Okay, stop grinning like an idiot. We need to think about the game tomorrow." Taeyeon smacked me at the back of my head, snapping me out from the memories. "Do you think Ms Lee would have came up with a good strategy?"

"We've faced them before so I think Ms Lee will know what to do. On our part, we should have faith in ourselves and worked hard just like how we've been doing the past few days." I said as everyone nodded their heads and we did a 'hwaiting' before we went off to sleep.

 We were watching the match between YMC university and Busan university that started at 10pm. Our match against XXX university would only start at 11.30am. As we filled up 3 rows of the bench, Taeyeon who was sitting beside me, nudged me at the side.

"So who are you going to support? Ailee's team or Uee's team?" I saw her grinning cheekily at me as I just shrugged my shoulders.

"Hey Jae. There's Ailee. You were looking for her yesterday right?" Hyoyeon, who was seated in the 3rd row, shouted from the back as she pointed at Ailee who was sitting among her cheerleaders at the sideline. 

I was seated in the 1st row as I turned around to glare at Hyoyeon who had a poker face. 'This choding is always a troublemaker.'

"I noticed that she was not around yesterday too. And even from here, she didn't look so well. Do you think she's sick?" Jessica suddenly asked as I turned back to face her. "It's not really advisable for us cheerleaders to perform when we are not feeling well."

I scratched the back of my head as I looked at the direction that Jessica was pointing. I saw Ailee hugging her stomach and it did looked like she was not well. "You're not jealous?" I turned back to face Jessica.

"Huh?" Jessica had a confused expression before I pointed to myself and then to Ailee. "Ohh... I get it. Why should I be jealous? If you're referring to Hyo's remark earlier, I myself was looking for Ailee yesterday."

"You were?" I asked as Jessica explained that as a cheerleader, it's normal for her and Tiffany to observe other cheerleading teams. 

While we continued talking, we heard the whistle sound to end the first half of the match as both Busan and YMC cheerleaders walked in to do their performance. Jessica whispered to me that she's having some uneasy feelings at the moment. My eyes squinted to Ailee's direction and noticed that she wasn't really walking up straight as if she's in pain.

It was during one of the flips that Ailee slipped  and was seen holding her ankle as I stood up abruptly along with Jessica. Both of us looked at each other with a worried expression before Jessica started pulling my hand and dragging me to the side court. I heard TaeNy's voices from the back as I realised that they had followed us, along with YoonYul, SooSun and HyoHyun.

By the time we reached the sideline, Ailee was already surrounded by her teammates. She was carried to their bench to rest.

All of us wanted to approach her but we didn't know if it was okay for us to do so since we're from another team. But her coach smiled at us and gestured us to come closer.

"Are you all friends with Ailee?" She asked as we all nodded our heads. "I hope she's fine. We didn't expect that to happen though. She said she was fine in the morning."

"Gwenchana?" I asked worriedly.

Ailee looked up to me with some tears in her eyes as one of her teammates began to massage her ankle that was starting to swell.We then heard the whistle blown to commence the 2nd half of the match.The coach told us that she won't be able to allow us to hang around at their bench since she'll be going through some strategies with her team and hoped that we would understand. We nodded our heads and were starting to walk away when we heard Ailee's voice.

"Gomawo. For showing concern." She smiled a little as we waved back at her.

We went back to our benches as me and Taeyeon went towards Ms Lee to ask for her forgiveness for running off suddenly earlier.

"Knowing all of your characters, I would have expected that from you. I didn't know you were friends with a student from YMC university though. Is she okay?" Ms Lee asked as we told her that we're not sure.

Both me and Taeyeon went back to sit beside our girlfriends as we continued to watch the match. 10mins later, Jessica tapped me on my thigh.

"I noticed that Uee have been staring at Ailee since just now." Jessica said as she pointed it out to me. "I don't why but her stare is giving me the creeps."

Once again I squinted my eyes and just like what Jessica had told me, Uee was staring coldly at Ailee who was oblivious about it. I bite my lips and nudged Taeyeon on my left. Whispering to Taeyeon about Jessica's observation, the two of us ended up looking at Uee.

"Do you think Uee has fallen for Ailee?" Taeyeon suddenly said causing me to knock her head with my knuckles.

"Yah.. Why would she stare at Ailee in that manner if she had fallen for her. That's a killer stare." I said as Teyeon rubbed her head where I had hit her.

"I always stare at Fany that way last time." Taeyeon said as she grinned dorkily.

"Yours is a ert stare." I said as Taeyeon pretended to strangle me while I tried to wrestle her. Both of us ended with a sore head when Sooyoung and Yuri smacked our heads respectively. Both of them were seated directly behind us.

"Stop goofing around." Sooyoung said while we rubbed our heads and meronged at each other.

"The match is going to end soon. We have 30mins left before our match. Maybe we can go and check on Ailee's condition." Yuri suggested as we nodded our heads.

When the whistle was blown to signal the end of the match, we went to seek permission from Ms Lee to check on Ailee's condition. Ms Lee allowed us but we have to be back in 10mins time since we need to warm up for our match. The 10 of us then walked over to Ailee's team area where her coach saw us and gave way for us to look at Ailee who was resting at a corner of the bench.

"Hey, how are you feeling at the moment?" I asked as Ailee was looked up to see all of us there. "Does it still hurts?"

"Hi everyone. Thanks for the concern earlier. I'm feeling slightly better and the swelling has already stopped. I must have looked so clumsy earlier, falling down from the flip." Ailee chuckled to herself.

"It's dangerous for you to perform when you're not well, Ailee. Especially when you have a stomach cramp." Jessica said as she walked up to Ailee and place something in Ailee's hand. "It's something to ease the pain. I'll usually take it when it hurts really bad."

Ailee looked at the package that Jessica gave her before quickly clenching her fist. "How did you know? Anyway, thank you. I had finished off mine last month and forgotten to restock. It was so bad that I had to skip yesterday's matches."

The rest of us just continued looking at the two of them talking, not understanding what was going on.

"Sorry to interrupt but what are you both talking about? What is so bad until you had to skip yesterday's matches?" I asked.

Jessica shook her head and walked up to me. "Girl problem that comes monthly." Jessica whispered softly to us as we slowly understood. Ailee smiled awkwardly when we all grinned at her. 

"Anyway, we need to get back to our coach soon and warm up for our match. Get well soon okay." Taeyeon said as everyone gave their well-wishes to Ailee before saying goodbye to her. I even patted her head when I told her to rest well.

While walking back to where Ms Lee was standing, I wrapped my arm on Jessica's shoulders, causing her to face me. "I didn't know you took medicine during that period."

"It's only when it hurts badly then I'll take it. Don't you have stomach cramp too?" Jessica asked as I pouted and tilted my head to think.

"Hhhmmm... I do but most of it are just mild ones. I can even play futsal when I have it. I'm strong, right?" I grinned dorkily at Jessica who just rolled her eyes at me.

Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain on my arm as I looked down to see Jessica pinching me. 

"Don't think I didn't see you patting Ailee's head earlier. Just because I'm keeping quiet, doesn't mean I'm not jealous okay." Jessica gritted her teeth at me. "Watch your behaviour if you don't want to be punish."

The moment I heard the word 'punish', I didn't know why I smirked but it was a wrong move as Jessica pinched my ears instead.

"Stop smirking while thinking of dirty thoughts, ByunJae. I'm not referring to those kinds of punishments."

Uee's POV:

Who is that girl? How come all of them seems close to her especially Jae? She's pretty although she's a little chubby. But she's cute though. I saw how the girls ran up to her when she had the incident earlier. I was doing my normal cheerleading routine when I heard some commotion from the YMC cheerleading team. 

It's only when we finished doing the routine and was walking back to our side of the court when I noticed Jae and her friends were just nearby. They were looking at that girl who seemed to be in pain. I saw how Jae looked worried  and how the girl only looked at Jae with teary eyes before the whole group walked away.

I continued to stare at the girl, trying to think if I've seen her. Did she go to the same middle school as me and Jae? How did she get to know Jae and the rest of Jae's friends? After staring for a while, I realised that it was the first time that I've seen her and it made me feel envy of her.

Jae was someone who doesn't really opened up easily to others. That was what I remembered of her in middle school. Jae only hangs around with Taeng and I was the one who approached them to be friends. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't realised the match had ended.

Just when I was about to walk out from the hall to go for our break, I saw Jae and her friends walking towards the YMC team bench. Once again, I saw them interacting with that girl before everyone started to wave at her and walked away. I regretted my decision to continue observing them when the next scene made my heart arched again.

Jae patted the girl's head before she walked away, smiling cutely as she wrapped her arms on Jessica's shoulders and teasing each other.
