Epilogue: JaeSica

"Jae Omma, are we going to fetch Sica Omma and Hyun Bin from the airport right now?"

The small girl, who was siting beside me at the passenger seat, was smiling excitedly as I nodded my head. The girl started to hum and sing a few songs on her own as I concentrated on the road. Looking at my watch, I've got a bad feeling that we'll be late since there was a lot of traffic at the moment.

"Soojung-ah, I think we might be late. Do you think Sica Omma will be angry at us?" I asked as the little girl looked at me with a blank face. "Aigoo, you're just like your Sica Omma."

It took Soojung another 10seconds before she suggested to send a picture of her to Jessica.

"Sica Omma will usually smile when she sees my photo. If she smiles, that means she won't be angry right?" Soojung said as I chuckled at her simple reasoning.

"Okay. I'll take a photo of you and send to her since the traffic light is red now." I said as I took out my phone.

Smiling and winking, Soojung posed for the camera and honestly, even I started to smile at the photo after I had taken it. I quickly typed a message to Jessica.

To Sicababy:

We're going to be a little late. I hope you won't be angry at us but if you do, Soojung suggested to send you this photo and we hope that it'll put a smile on you instead. We love you. :P

We did arrived at the airport 15mins later than expected. As I held Soojung's hand and walked towards the arrival hall, both of us were busy looking around the airport.

"Sica Omma!!! Hyun Bin!!!"

I was shocked by Soojung's voice as I saw her pointing to a blonde lady, standing just a few metres away from us while pulling my hand. No wonder I couldn't recognise Jessica. She had dyed her hair blonde.

As we approached them, I had a big smile on my face. Jessica had left for Japan 4 days ago for a business meeting and her absence made me missed her so much. Jessica stared at me for a few seconds before she handed the baby boy to me.

"Sica Omma, carry me please. I miss you so much." Soojung whined a little as Jessica smiled and carried her up. "Hyun Bin, Noona miss you too."

I had to bring Hyun Bin closer to her so that Soojung could kiss him. Hyun Bin smiled and giggled after she had kissed him.

"Why were you late?" Jessica asked as she glared before squinting her eyes at me. "Do you know how much I miss the both of you?"

"Mianhae. I miss you too. But there was a slight traffic jam earlier which was why we were late. Shall we go for lunch now?" I asked as Jessica and Soojung nodded their heads.

Pushing the trolley that had Jessica's two luggages, we walked to my Maserati Suv.

Jessica's POV

I smiled after I read the message that Jae had sent me. The two of them always knew how to make me smile.

"Hyun Bin, your Jae Omma and noona will be late. Do you want to see Soojung noona's photo?" I showed the message to the baby boy in my arms and he started to mumble some incoherent words to himself when he saw the photo.

His reaction caused me to giggle as I pushed the trolley with my left hand while holding on to Hyun Bin tightly with my right hand, towards some chairs to rest. After 10mins, Hyun Bin started to feel restless so I had to stand up and hold him outwards so that he would be distracted with his surroundings.

"Sica Omma!!! Hyun Bin!!"

I heard the familiar voice of Soojung as I turned around and saw her with Jae, walking hand in hand towards me. After I pretended to be angry with Jae for a short while, the 4 of us walked to our car with me carrying Hyun Bin and Soojung sitting on top of our luggages on the trolley with Jae pushing it.

The two kids were safely placed in the back seats as they started playing with each other.

"How was the meeting?" Jae asked as she started the engine and drove us out from the carpark.

"It went smoothly, thanks to Boa-unnie's help. Anyway, Boa-unnie and Yunho-oppa sent their regards to you and Soojung. They said they missed you and Soojung a lot and reminded me to tell you to go and visit them soon. They also complimented Hyun Bin for having a charming smile, just like you." I said as I saw Jae smiling to herself.

"And Soojung is just like you. Always having that blank look on her face." Jae replied as she chuckled while I slapped her shoulders lightly. "By the way, I almost couldn't recognize you because of your hair color. Luckily Soojung called you out."

"Yah, Park Hyun Jae. How can you not recognise your own wife when your daughter can do so?" I glared at her as she just chuckled again.

While we were having our lunch, we were surprised when Amber and Krystal came up to us in the restaurant.

"Oh my god, Jae unnie and Sica unnie. I didn't expect to be able to meet you today." Amber excitedly hugged us as Krystal just bowed and greeted us.

"When did you came back from the States, Am?" I asked Amber who had went there to further her studies.

"I came back about a month ago." Amber replied as she said hi to Soojung who just stared at her coldly. "Soojung-ah, don't you remember me? I'm Amber unnie." When Soojung continued to just give her a blank look, Amber shook her head. "She's really like Sica unnie with her cold stare and blank expression. Maybe you can get along better with Krystal since both of you have the same aura."

"Shut up, Stoopid." Krystal slapped Amber's shoulders before she turned to face me and smiled at Hyun Bin who was on my lap. "What's his name?"

"Park Hyun Bin." I replied as I heard a giggle from the baby boy.

"Soojung and Hyun Bin. Sooyeon and Hyun Jae. Nice." Amber showed me a thumbs up and gave me a high-five.

"Would you both like to join us for lunch?" Jessica invited Amber and Krystal who declined.

"We've actually had our lunch earlier. We were walking around when we noticed both of you from the outside. By the way, before I forgot. Jae unnie, I've already submitted my resume to your receptionist two days ago." Amber grinned and wriggled her eyebrows at me while I nodded my head. "We shall not disturb you any further then. Enjoy your lunch."

During the car ride home, Soojung was busy singing at the back seat while Hyun Bin looked at her and clapped his hands at times. Watching their reactions towards each other, made me and Jessica giggled until both of them fell asleep in their seats. When the car entered our house garage, Soojung instantly woke up when I switched off the engine.

"Hyun Bin, we're home." Soojung softly woke her little brother up.

"Soojung-ah, do you want to go swimming?" I asked as she nodded her head excitedly.

Our maids helped to carry Jessica's luggages to our room as I carried Hyun Bin out from the car while Soojung followed her Sica Omma to change into her swimwear. The 4 of us gathered back at the swimming pool area as Soojung ran and jumped on me.

"Jae Omma, palli. I want to swim." Soojung had a wide grin on her face as I carried her and brought her into the pool.

Laughter soon filled the air as we played around with each other until I noticed that the kids were getting tired after an hour. Since the sun will be setting soon, we decided to stop and rest in the house instead while the maids would be preparing our dinner. Jessica and I helped each other out in washing up the kids and putting them in their pyjamas before bringing them to the living room. While Jessica took her time to feed Hyun Bin with his baby food, me and Soojung decided to play around with the piano.

"Jae Omma, play me a song." Soojung said as I nodded my head,

While playing the song, I noticed that Jessica was smiling by herself as she listened to the familiar song. The moment I ended the song, Soojung was clapping her hands happily as one of the maids came up to us and informed that dinner was ready. I carried Soojung up in an airplane position as she made the sound of an engine. Jessica who was done with feeding Hyun Bin, handed him over to the maid who would look after him while the 3 of us had our dinner.

"Sica Omma, will you send me to school tomorrow?" Soojung asked.

"Okay. I'll send you tomorrow. Is there anything special tomorrow that you requested me to send you?" Jessica asked as Soojung grinned cheekily at her.

"Jae Omma has been complaining about having to wake up early because she had to send me to school. She said that once Sica Omma comes home, she will ask you to send me to school instead." Soojung replied with a poker face while I had my jaws dropped as I noticed Jessica glaring at me." Oh, by the way, Sica Omma. You might need to explain to my teacher as to why I didn't come to school for the past 2 days. My teacher...."

I had to cover Soojung mouth before she could continued complaining about me to her Sica Omma. I was already half-choking on my rice as I gave Soojung the eye signal to keep quiet. By then, I knew that Jessica was already glaring at me.

"Sica Omma, are you angry at Jae Omma? Why do you keep glaring at her?" Soojung asked as she looked at Jessica before turning to look at me. She repeated that actions a few times until Jessica told her that she was not angry.

Dinner was over 30mins later as I washed Soojung's mouth and carried her to her room. She shared a room with Hyun Bin and with the fact that she doesn't like pink, it made it easier for me to decorate their room.

(Soojung's and Hyun Bin's room)

Hyun Bin was already asleep when we walked in. Saying good night to me, I left her with Jessica who would be reading a bedtime storybook to her while I went to my own room to wash up.

Jessica was still not back yet after I was done showering so I pushed open the sliding door that would lead me to my balcony which has the view of my swimming pool downstairs. Sitting on the chair, I looked up to the night sky and smiled at the stars.

'Omma, thank you for always looking out for me. It's been tiring lately because of the projects that are coming up but I'm coping well. Soojung has been singing a lot lately and she really resembles Sica a lot. Hyun Bin is still learning to talk though but it's obvious he's fond of his noona because he will always smile when Soojung talks to him. I'll be turning 36yrs old soon, Omma. That means it's been almost 20yrs since you left us.'

I paused my thoughts for a while and looked down as I shut my eyes tight. Even though it's been a long time, I still miss my Omma a lot and soon tears were trickling down my cheeks.

"Jaegi, what's wrong?"

I didn't realised that Jessica had already came back as she kneeled down in front of me. Cupping my cheeks, she leaned in and kissed both my eyes.

"Are you thinking of Omma?" Jessica looked up and started to smile. "Omma, do you agree with me that Jae is a crybaby?"

Jessica turned to look up into the sky as I followed her gaze. Just then, I saw a star blinking and Jessica said that it was a sign that Omma agreed.

"Yah, I'm not a crybaby okay." I said as I pouted. "Is Soojung asleep already?"

"Of course. Do you think I would leave her if she's still awake?" Jessica folded her arms as she stood up while I grinned dorkily. "And you. What have you been doing when I was away? How come Soojung didn't attend school for the past two days?"

Jessica pinched my right ear as I frowned while trying to endure the pain before she let it go.

"I brought her to the amusement park on Tuesday after picking her up from school. She was feeling tired on Wednesday which was why we skipped school. Yesterday.... hhhhmmmm. Why didn't I send her to school?" I rubbed my chin trying to recall the reason for that. "I can't remember why though."

"It's because you overslept, pabo-yah." Jessica slapped my shoulders lightly. "Soojung told me everything earlier. She said she was already awake but when she came to look for you, you were still sprawled in bed. Let me quote her exact words. 'Jae Omma was like a spiderman when I found her. Her hands and legs were spread open on the bed.' That was what your daughter said."

I burst out laughing when I heard what Jessica said as she bite her lips and glared at me. "Wae? Don't you find it funny? My daughter is so cute. Just like her Sica Omma."

"Don't try to please me. Anyway, you're not suppose to bring her to the amusement park on weekdays. You know how active your daughter is and she'll get tired easily." Jessica pulled me up as she dragged me back into our room. "You're not suppose to pamper her, Jaegi."

"I wasn't pampering her, Sicababy. I brought her there, not because she wanted to but because I wanted it. I was feeling stressed out with work and needed something to divert and relax my mind." I pouted and sat at the edge of my bed.

Jessica stood in front of me with her hands folded as I stole a glance at her.

"What were you talking to Omma about?" Jessica asked as she sat down beside me and placed her head on my shoulders.

"Just telling her about Soojung and Hyun Bin. It's already been 20yrs since she left us." I replied. "With 9yrs of blissful marriage to you, a 5yrs old Soojung and 18months old Hyun Bin, I think I'm contented." I said as Jessica turned to look at me. "Do you remember the first time we met Soojung?"

(Flashback 5yrs ago)

"How's her condition?" I asked Uncle Choi who was standing outside the operation theatre beside me.

"It doesn't look good." He looked at me with a forlorn expression.

I took a deep breathe and sighed. I was about to take a sit when I heard Jessica's voice. Turning around, I saw her walking towards me with quick steps along with a worried expression. Seeing her at that moment, broke my defensive wall as I felt the need to have someone to hug. Tears started to flow down my cheek as Jessica engulfed me into a hug.

"What happened, Jaegi? I rushed as soon as possible the moment you told me to meet you at the hospital." Jessica started to rub my back to console me as she bowed slightly to Uncle Choi. "Why are you crying, pabo-yah? Who's in the operation theatre?"

Jessica held me within an arms length and started to wipe my tears away before bringing me to sit beside Uncle Choi.

"Do you remember Minjung?" I asked as Jessica nodded her head.

"She's your ex-secretary right? She resigned about 4months ago because of her pregnancy and because she wanted to concentrated fully in taking care of her first born child." Jessica said as I kept nodding my head before I pointed to the operation theatre door. "Oh my god! Don't tell me she's inside?"

I bite my lips as I tried to control my tears from falling again. Jessica covered as I saw her eyes became watery.

"Minjung was involved in a car accident about 4hrs ago. I received a call from Sunny earlier since she recognised her when the ambulance arrived at the hospital. Sunny and Aunt Choi are inside at the moment. They're trying to save her and her baby since then." I explained as Jessica held my hands tight. "She was already 8months pregnant."

Jessica bite her lips too as she hugged me. I knew she was affected by it too. Minjung has been working as my secretary since I took over Appa's position as the director so Jessica knew her and even got along well with her. She has been married for the past 7yrs but has not had the luck to have an offspring. When she found out that she was pregnant, she was really happy and had initially wanted to resign much earlier. But I had to hold her back until I found someone suitable to replace her.

"She wasn't alone when the accident happened." I said as I swallowed the lump in my throat. "Her husband was the one who was driving when the car hit the side kerb and overturned."

"Is the husband...?" Jessica didn't have to complete her sentence as I shook my head.

"He didn't make it. He died due to multiple injuries to the head." I said as Jessica covered her face and cried.

I turned to face Uncle Choi to ask him about something but we were surprised when we heard the cries of a baby. The 3 of us immediately turned to look at the door as we saw the light above the operation theatre went off. When the door opened 10mins later, we saw Aunt Choi walking out while cradling a baby. The 3 of us stood up and gathered around her before Aunt Choi handed the baby over to me.

"It's a girl. She's still a little weak though. We might need to place her in an incubator since she's premature." Aunt Choi explained as I stared at the baby girl in my hand. "Jae..."

I looked up into Aunt Choi's eyes as I saw her shaking her head slowly. At that moment, I understood her gesture. Minjung didn't make it as I bite my lips and closed my eyes.

"She was still awake when the staff brought her in but she was losing too much blood. The only thing that she kept repeating to us was to save her baby first." Aunt Choi said as I felt Jessica hugging my waist and placing her head on my shoulders. "Have you contacted her parents?"

"Minjung's parents had already passed away. She was all alone until she got married. I'll have to check on her husband's side." I said as Aunt Choi took the baby back before handing her over to a staff nurse.

(Present time)

"Turns out that the husband was an orphan too so Soojung didn't have anyone else in this world." Jessica said after we reminisced about the past.

"But she has us now. And also Hyun Bin." I said as I smiled again.

"Hyun Bin's case was similar to Miyeon's." Jessica said as I nodded my head.

(Flashback 18months ago)

"Ms Park, I'm sorry to disturb you so late at night but I need you to come down to the orphanage right now. There's an abandoned baby here." Ms Song informed me through the phone.

It was almost 10pm when I left the house. Initially, I wanted to go there alone but Jessica insisted to tag along. Furthermore, Soojung was already asleep by then and Jessica didn't like the idea of me driving alone by myself late at night.

45minutes later, I was already in Ms Song office as Jessica was sitting beside an old lady who was cradling a crying baby. Ms Song explained to me that the old lady had came to the orphanage earlier to inform her that she had found an abandoned baby boy near a trash bin, a few streets away.

"She said that the baby was turning blue with the umbilical cord still attached. She quickly took the baby and brought him home to wash him up properly. The umbilical cord was also snipped off nicely." Ms Song explained further to me. "But the baby has not stopped crying ever since she washed him up and even after I fed him."

I scratched my head as I looked at Ms Song. "By any chance, do you still have the documents that we prepared for Miyeon case previously? It's been more than 10yrs since then and I can't remember the procedures that we need to deal with."

Ms Song nodded her head and walked to the storage room where most of the documents were kept while I walked towards the old lady and Jessica.

"Eomoni. Have you eaten your dinner?" I asked the old lady who smiled and nodded her head at me. "Can I try to carry the baby?"

I wanted to try to stop the baby from crying but there was no changes even after I carried him. His crying was not loud but his face was turning red as he continued crying. Ms Song came back while I was making faces at the baby and just like a habit, I handed the baby to Jessica. As I walked towards the table, I realised something as Ms Song also stopped her actions of arranging the files on the table.

"Did the baby just stopped crying?" I turned to look at Jessica who was smiling at him. "Is he trying to flirt with my wife?"

I saw Jessica rolling her eyes at me as I chuckled and walked towards them. I saw the baby smiling a little at Jessica but he started to cry again the moment I tried to carry him. The moment he was back into Jessica's arms, he stopped crying.

"Yah!! That's my wife you're smiling to. She's mine, okay." I pouted and pointed at the baby boy.

(Present time)

"I still can't believe that you'll be jealous over a baby boy." Jessica teased me by poking my waist.

By now, both me and Jessica were already lying comfortably beside each other on the bed as I grabbed both of Jessica's hands using only one of my hand and tickled her.

"Jaegi! Stop, stop. Right now. N.O.W!"

I stopped tickling her as Jessica pouted before turning her body sideways, away from me. Her actions caused me to panic as I quickly hugged her from the back.

"Are you angry with me, Sicababy?"

"Anni."

Her reply was monotonous as I kissed her shoulders. "Of course I'm jealous of Hyun Bin. You practically brings him along anyway you go, even to Japan and leave me behind with Soojung."

Jessica suddenly turned around to face me, causing me to move back a little. "I can't leave him behind since you'll be at work and Soojung has to go to school but obviously she's not been doing so for the past two days." I grinned dorkily with Jessica's remarks. "You shouldn't be jealous of your own son, Jaegi. You know how cranky he is around people that he's unfamiliar with and will only calm down when I carry him."

"Arraseo. I was just kidding around anyway." I pouted a little as Jessica leaned in to kiss me on my lips. "Shall we go for a trip, just the two of us? It's been a while since we had some private time to ourselves. We can leave the kids at your parents' house."

"Why can't I follow the both of you?" Soojung was glaring at us as she folded her arms. "What if Hyun Bin cries and wants Sica Omma?"

I chuckled as I observed Jessica squatting down to have a talk with Soojung while I was carrying Hyun Bin. The 4 of us were at Appa and Omma Jung's house at the moment. Jessica has agreed to my suggestion two weeks ago about going to a trip together, just the two of us. Appa and Omma Jung were more than happy to have Soojung and Hyun Bin over since they've missed their grandchildren a lot.

I didn't hear what Jessica was telling to Soojung but I saw the little girl smiling and nodding her head happily. Omma Jung then took Hyun Bin from me while Soojung walked towards Appa Jung.

"Okay. Sica Omma and Jae Omma can go for the trip. I will take care of Hyun Bin and promise to be a good girl." Soojung said as she showed a thumbs up to Jessica.

I turned to look at Jessica who had a proud expression on her face as she went up to her parents to say goodbye before kissing Soojung and Hyun Bin. I repeated her actions and went inside my car where Jessica was already waiting for me.

"What did you tell Soojung to make her agree so easily?" I said as the car left the house compound.

"I just told her that if she behaves and take care of her little brother, without causing any problem to her grandparents, Jae Omma will build a slide for her at the swimming pool. Just like what she wanted." Jessica replied with a poker face.

"Mwo? Why me?" I blinked my eyes while trying to concentrate on the road towards the airport.

"Because you are an interior designer and you're the 'Appa'. So you should be in-charge-of all these." Jessica smirked at me while I meronged at her.

"I thought we're not suppose to pamper our kids by always giving in to what they want?" I  as Jessica folded her arms.

"Soojung had asked for it last year during her birthday and it's not like she always kept asking for it. She's been behaving well since then so I thought I should give her a reward." Jessica said.

"Your reward for her but my effort and money." I said teasingly as Jessica nodded her head.

"That's why we work well as a team." Jessica chuckled as I rolled my eyes at her. "I can't wait to spend precious time with you. Where are we going, by the way? Is this another surprise from you?"

I smirked at her and nodded my head as the car entered the cargo airport where my private jet was waiting for us. As the plane took off, Jessica was already preparing herself to take a nap on the bed inside the plane after I told her that our destination will take a few hours to reach. I sat down and took out my laptop.

"I thought we promise that we won't be handling any of our work stuff." Jessica glared at me.

"This is not work. I suddenly had an idea of how to design the pool slide for Soojung. So I was thinking of drafting it first before I forgot about it." I said as I smiled at Jessica.

"Will you take long then?" Jessica asked as she pouted while I asked her why. "I've been sleeping alone when I was in Japan."

"I thought you had Hyun Bin with you?" I as I saw her rolling her eyes at me. "Arraseo. I'll be quick. Just give me 10mins."

Even before the 10mins was up, Jessica was already asleep as I chuckled at her. Looking at my sleeping beauty, I couldn't stop myself from smiling. 'Another new day, another set of memories to be made.' I thought to myself as I closed my laptop and crawled on to the bed.

"You're done?" Jessica suddenly stirred as I apologised for waking her up. "I wasn't really sleeping. I was waiting for you."

Leaning to kiss her on her forehead, I smiled as Jessica nuzzled up against me. "Since you've been waiting for me, I guess I should reward you. We've got 4hrs to spare and I think that's more than enough."

"More than enough for what?" Jessica had a blank expression on her face while I smirked at her.

"Looks like it's going to be one hell of a rough ride." I said as I straddled her before leaning in to kiss her passionately on her lips.
