Taeyeon's POV:

After Jae left the table, there was an awkward silence in the atmosphere as no one knew what to say. I guessed they must have seen the sudden change in Jae's expression before she left. The seriousness in her tone and the darken expression was self explanatory. I felt Yuri nudged me by the elbow as I looked at the direction that her eyes were signalling to. As I followed her gaze, I saw Jessica giving me the deadly glare.

"So... Ailee, how's school so far?" I diverted my attention to Ailee who was obviously taken aback but before she could answer me, I heard Jessica's voice.

"Is Jae going to be okay?" I turned towards the voice and this time round, I saw concern in Jessica's eyes. " Should I go and take a look?" 

"I think she should be fine. Me and Taeng will look for her if she's not back in 15mins." Yuri answered as I quickly nodded my head.

Once again silence engulfed the table until Seohyun voiced out the question that I believed was in everyone's mind.

"Who is this girl anyway? Why did Jae reacted in such a bad way after hearing her name?"

"She's someone who is of no importance." I turned behind to see Jae walking back to her seat and her expression was back to normal with an addition of a very fresh looking face. She gave a smile and sat down beside Jessica. "So what did I miss?"

Yuri's POV:

This stupid midget. Of all the times, she had to mention Uee's name in front of everyone. Did she forget that we are not suppose to mention that girl's name ever again especially in front of Jae? But Jessica seem to know something about Uee. Her expression was different from the others who was hearing Uee's name for the first time. Compared to the others, Jessica seem to be trying to remember something until she started glaring at Taeng. I think she remembered it by then. Did Jae told her about Uee? Even if she did, how much did Jae told her? 

I heard Jessica's question to Taeng and before that midget could give any further reply, I quickly answered her back. I got a feeling that Jae will be in the toilet, trying to calm herself down and I don't think she will appreciate it if we allowed Jessica to see her in that state. But when Seohyun dropped the bomb on us with that question, words seemed to stuck in my throat and it got worse when I heard Jae's voice from behind. I felt Taeng turning around as I waited for Jae to sit down opposite me.

As expected, she was back to normal while smiling to everyone. Hiding away those pain once again.

Ailee's POV:

I noticed how Jae's expression changed when Taeyeon mentioned a girl's name. What's the connection between that girl and Jae? Why does Jae looked angry and hurt when she left for the toilet? Seeing Jae in that condition, I felt a slight pain in myself. Why does it affect me anyway? I was caught up in those thoughts that I was surprised when Taeyeon suddenly asked me a question about school but before I could answer her, Jessica shot her a question. Jessica looked worried though. And for that split second, I kind of feel a bit jealous of her. Oh god... please don't let me have feelings for Jae.

Jessica's POV:

Kim Yu Jin? Uee? Where did I heard that name before? It sounds so familiar. Think Sica, think... Oh wait a minute. Isn't that the girl who betrayed Jae's trust while they were in middle school. I glared at Taeng after I remembered what Jae told me before about that girl. Taeng mentioned about that Uee messaging Jae with well-wishes but with no replies from Jae. So she must be the 'unknown' number that had messaged Jae before. Why is she trying to keep in contact with my Jaegi? And why did Jae react so angrily with that piece of news? Is there something more that I need to know about their issue? I asked Taeng if Jae will be okay and if I should go and check on her but Yul answered that she'll be alright and they'll check on her if she's not back in 15mins. There's something the 3 of them is hiding from me. I'm sure of that.

'Damn it. Calm down Jae. Relax.' I kept talking to myself until I reached the toilet. I walked towards the mirror and looked at myself. I felt anger in me but I saw a tint of sadness in my eyes as I realised that my fists were still clenched tight and tears were on the verge of falling. 'She messaged me? Well-wishes? So she was the one who has been messaging me for the past 5yrs? Wae? After what she has done to me, does she expect me to forgive her?'

I the tap water and started to splash water on to my face when I felt my anger increasing in me. Breathing in hard, I looked up into the mirror with my drenched face. 'She's not here in Seoul. She's in Busan. And to me, she's just someone from the past. Someone that isn't worth of any memory.'

I wiped my face, closed my eyes and breathe in slowly. After I was sure that I've calmed down, I walked out from the toilet. Just when I was approaching the table, I heard Seohyun's questioning Taeyeon.

"Who is this girl anyway? Why did Jae reacted in such a bad way after hearing her name?"

"She's someone who is of no importance." I answered as I walked to the table and sat down. Smiling to everyone, I asked them a question. "So what did I miss?"

No one answered as I felt Jessica's hands on my lap. Turning to face her, I saw her worried eyes and it hurt me. Even so, I smiled at her and placed my hands on top of hers. "Gwenchana?" I asked as she looked at me with a confused expression before nodding her head slowly.

"Ailee, you said that sometimes the customer will use the stage for their own performance right?" Taeyeon asked as everyone looked at her. When Ailee nodded her head, Taeyeon turned to Yuri. "Help me out. I want to perform a song."

Everyone was surprised with Taeyeon's statement especially me. Yuri nodded her head and the two of them was just about to stand up when Sooyoung and Hyoyeon also stood up.

"I'll help out too." Both of them said at the same time and gave each other a high-five as the 4 of them walked towards the stage with Ailee escorting them.

"Does Hyo knows how to play an instrument?" Yoona asked as Seohyun shrugged her shoulders.

"I think she knows how to play the drums. She's been learning it from Soo." I said as I leaned back into the chair. For some reason, I was curious to why the 4 of them suddenly wanted to perform especially without me.

"Really? I can't wait to see my Hyunnie performing then." Seohyun got excited as she smiled widely.

"Jaegi, are you really okay?" Jessica asked, once again with those worried eyes.

"I'll be fine." I leaned forward and kissed her forehead. "Sorry to make you worried."

Just when I parted my lips away from Jessica's forehead, I heard Ailee's voice on stage.

"Hi everyone. Today we'll have a group of girls who would like to perform a song which will be the last performance for the night. So I hope you'll enjoy it. Thank you and please welcome them with a round of applause."

Ailee passed the mic to Taeyeon who was holding on to an acoustic guitar. Slowly, the rest of the girls appeared on stage with Hyoyeon sitting at the drum set, Yuri with an electric guitar and Sooyoung with another acoustic guitar. Taeyeon bowed to Ailee and said thanks before facing the crowd.

"My friends and I would like to dedicate this song to a good friend of ours. We want her to know that we'll always be there for her just like how she's always been there for us. Hope all of you will enjoy it too and Jae, listen to this song carefully." Taeyeon ended the speech before she started to strum her guitar.

The moment I heard Taeyeon's speech, my attention turned to the stage. Ailee came back to join us at the table just in time as Taeyeon started to play the guitar.

(A few minutes earlier behind the stage)

"How come you two volunteered yourselves?" Yuri asked as she looked at Hyoyeon and Sooyoung.

"You both were planning to cheer Jae up right? Of course we want to join in." Sooyoung answered as Hyoyeon nodded her head.

"How did you know?" Taeyeon asked as she scratched the back of her neck.

"We both saw you nudging Yul's elbow after you asked Ailee about the stage performance so we were suspecting something. When you suddenly ask Yul for help, we knew that it got something to do with Jae since you didn't ask Jae to join you." Hyoyeon answered confidently to Taeyeon.

"It's all because of this midget's fault. You both probably doesn't know who this Uee is but let's just say, she's someone who has caused a lot of pain and sufferings for Jae in the past. I can't tell you much since I think the best person to say it is Jae herself but I don't think she'll want to do so." Yuri explained.

"But Uee told me that she regretted her mistakes when I saw her in Busan. She said sorry to me and if not because of Fany, I won't be having a long talk with her and I think Jae need to hear her side of the story. I believe there was a lot of misunderstandings between me, you, Jae and her." Taeyeon said as she sighed. "But I guess Jae is still not ready to face all of that yet." Taeyeon bite her lips as the other 3 girls nodded their heads.

"Anyway, what song were you planning to perform?" Sooyoung asked.

"A song that hopefully can make Jae understand that we'll always be there for her just like how she's always there for us." Taeyeon said as she quickly brief the girls about the song. "I'll play the acoustic guitar. Hyo, will you be confident to play the drums since this song's drum beat is not too difficult?" Hyoyeon nodded her head and showed the thumbs up.

"I'll play the electric guitar and Soo can play the 2nd acoustic guitar as a backup to Taeng's since she'll be singing too." Yuri explained further as everyone agreed and got ready.

(Back at the table)

As I listened to every word that Taeyeon sang, I swallowed my saliva as I felt my eyes became watery. I quickly looked up to the ceiling to prevent the tears from falling as I felt Jessica hugging me from the sides. I didn't dare to look at her as I continued staring at the ceiling until the song ended. Every word that Taeyeon sang and the chorus part where all the girls sang together, strike a chord in my heart.

"Jaegi, I'm going to be here for you too." I heard Jessica's soft voice and that was when my wall of defense broke down.

Tears flowed down like a burst dam as I covered my face and sobbed softly. The other girls must have been to busy looking at their girlfriends on stage since I didn't heard any reaction from them until I heard Ailee's voice.

"Oh my god, Jae. Is everything okay? I'll go and get some tissue."

That was when everything became chaotic with everyone panicking as I heard Taeyeon, Sooyoung, Yuri and Hyoyeon rushing to the table. Ailee came back with a box of tissue as everyone kept bombarding me with questions. Suddenly the atmosphere became quiet when Jessica stood up with her hands on her hips and asking everyone to calm down.

I took a deep breathe, squeezed out my last drop of tears and wipe them off my face. I looked up and saw everyone's attention on me. Clasping my hands together while resting my elbows on the table, I rested my chin on my hands.

"Ailee, what time does this pub close?" I asked with a husky but calm voice.

"2am." She replied as I looked at my watch, showing that it'll be 11pm in 5mins time.

I placed my hands flat on the table as I looked up to Taeyeon and Yuri who were sitting opposite me. They gave me a smile. A familiar smile that I've seen before a long time ago.

"I guess by now everyone must be curious about who this Kim Yu Jin is and why I was crying suddenly." I sighed as everyone just looked at me without saying anything. "I've told Sica about her before when she visited me in LA but I didn't really told her the whole story. Let me just repeat what I've told Sica so far and maybe Yul and Taeng can add some details in between if they want to." Yuri and Taeyeon nodded their heads as they gestured me to continue.

"We didn't hear much about what happened to Uee after that except that she transferred out from school in the 2nd year." I said as I stopped my story.

"You should tell them what happened actually, Jae. All the details before Uee transferred out. The pain that you had hidden from the past. The reason for your anger and sadness." Yuri said as I gave a deep sigh.

"Before I do so, I need to ask Taeng something. Tell me what happened on the day that you saw Uee." I asked as I looked at Taeyeon.

(Flashback in Busan)

Taeyeon's POV:

I was walking around in Busan with Tiffany, looking for some souvenirs for the girls. We went out just the two of us since Omma and Appa wanted to spend some bonding time with Oppa. We have been walking around for 2hrs in the mall when we decided to eat lunch at one of the restaurant there. While waiting for the food to arrive, me and Tiffany were busy chatting away when I suddenly heard someone calling my name.

"Taeng? Taeyeon? Kim Taeyeon?"

I turned around and saw a tall pretty lady, smiling and waving her hands at me.

I looked at the girl with a confused expression. 'How come this pretty lady knows my name and is even calling me by the name that only my close friends will use? Do I know her?' Before I could ask those questions, she answered it for me.

"It's me, Uee. Kim Yu Jin. We were in the same middle school." 

The moment I remembered her, my expression change as I glared at her. "What do you want?" I said coldly as I felt Tiffany stiffened beside me. She must have been shocked with my rude attitude.

Uee was also taken aback as the smile on her face disappeared and was replaced with a guilty look. "I'm sorry. I guess you still hate me after all these years. I apologise once again. Please excuse me." Uee bowed slightly as I noticed her eyes became watery.

"Wait, Uee-shi." I was shocked when Tiffany stopped her. "Kim Taeyeon, that's not the right way to treat a lady no matter what mistake she did. Would you like to join us?" 

"Fany-ah, you're going to regret it if you knew who she really is." I said as I folded my arms and rolled my eyes.

"Did you just rolled your eyes at me, Taetae?" Tiffany asked me with a glare as I quickly apologised. "Uee-shi, is it true what she said? That I'll regret it if I knew who you really are." Tiffany asked Uee who was still standing by the side of the table.

Uee sighed as she slowly nodded her head. "I guess you can believe her. I've made a lot of mistakes in the past. I know I don't deserve their forgiveness. I just want them to know that I really appreciated their friendship until I lost it. I just wished I could have a 2nd chance."

"Them? Their friendship? Who else are you talking about?" Tiffany asked as I mouthed the word Jae. Tiffany nodded her head and I saw that Uee was about to turn around to walk away.

"Wait." I said as both Tiffany and Uee turned to look at me. "If you're really sincere about wanting our forgiveness, why didn't you try to contact us at all?"

"I did. I've been messaging Jae for the past 5yrs ever since she left for LA. I wished her on every Christmas, every New Year and even on her birthday in the hopes that she'll reply me back but she didn't." Uee looked upset as she said it out.

"Maybe Jae doesn't have your number. If I remembered correctly, she deleted your number after you left the school." Taeyeon said as she sighed. "Why don't you sit down first and we'll talk?"

"So you're not Taetae's ex-girlfriend?" Tiffany asked, causing me to choke on the drink that I was having. "Oh my gosh... Mianhae, Taetae." Tiffany patted my back and rubbed it.

"Anni. I'm not. We were friends. Taeng and Jae were the first friends that I had in middle school." Uee answered with a slight smile. "I really enjoyed their friendship until I made the wrong decision."

"Wrong decision?" Tiffany asked but before Uee could answered her, Taeyeon intercepted her.

"You took advantage of our kindness. You betrayed our trust. You made use of Jae's wealth for your own purposes. You had a boyfriend behind our back and used that money to go dating with him. You lied to Jae about everything." I said as I clenched my fist, trying to control my anger. "Do you know how much Jae suffered after your boyfriend and his friends came to create trouble for us?"

"I admit that I lied to her and made use of her money. I'm sorry for whatever that my ex-boyfriend did. I didn't expect him to do all of that." Uee bite her lips as a tear drop. "If only I didn't planned to make Jae jealous."

"Wait... ex-boyfriend? Make Jae jealous?" Tiffany asked with a frown. "You had feelings for Jae?"

Uee nodded her head. "I've even confessed to her and for 2 weeks I kept showing her my true feelings but she said that she didn't share the same feelings as me. I was so heartbroken that I skipped school for 3 days. Instead I went to the arcade and that was where I met my ex-boyfriend there. He continued to woo me for the first 2 days and on the 3rd day, I agreed to be his girlfriend, thinking that my actions will make Jae jealous and have a change of heart."

"You mean you were really honest with your confession to Jae?" Taeyeon asked as Uee nodded confidently. "I thought you were just playing around with her. But why did you have to borrow money from Jae when your boyfriend is already rich?"

"At first, I just wanted to see if Jae really cared for me and willing to help me out but eventually, it became a habit of mine. In a way, it made me feel as if Jae was my boyfriend where I could always ask for money. I never ask for any money from my ex before." Uee explained. "But you and Jae found out about him earlier than I expected and when both of you came up to us during one of our dates to end our friendship, I was really taken aback. My ex asked about the both of you and I lied to him about Jae having feelings for me. I really didn't expect him to find you both at school."

Just when Taeyeon was about to continue her story, Yuri intercepted her.

"If she really liked Jae, then how come she just stood there and watched her boyfriend and his friends made fun of Jae outside of our school?" Yuri asked as everyone looked at her. "Everytime when we walked out of the school gate, Uee's boyfriend and his group of friends will be there with Uee by his side. Then they will start shouting at us. Calling Jae gay and a disgrace to the society. Our schoolmates heard about it and they started to avoid all 3 of us."

"Uee said that even though she wanted to help Jae out, she was also afraid of how her boyfriend will react to her and also how other students will judge her. She said that at least she didn't join them in shouting at us. She just stood still and watched." Taeyeon replied as I heard Hyoyeon chuckled sarcastically.

"What a lame excuse. She's afraid of people judging her. Then what about the 3 of you who are going through all that? She's so selfish." Hyoyeon said.

"When we all were at that young age, people like us were considered weird. Liking the same gender were frown on. That was why I didn't dare to tell anyone about my uality preference until I got to university. I can't imagine how it feels like when everyone in school started to judge you all. " Sooyoung said with a solemn voice.

"It was not that bad for me and Yul. The thing is Uee only told her ex that Jae had feelings for her so he only thought that Jae was gay. He didn't know that me and Yul are gays too." Taeyeon said. "We weren't expecting the students reactions to be that bad. Remember the incident where me and Jae were punched and also the first time that we made friends with Yul? That incident happened in April. The taunting outside of the school gate started a few weeks after that and it continued right up to around mid of September. It was still okay in the beginning since only a few group of students were giving us the  weird looks but after summer break, it got worse. I think somehow the rumors spread."

"After summer break, we didn't dare to leave Jae alone. Once we had just finished our futsal practice and Jae went to the toilet. She came back after 15mins with bleeding lips. She said that she had 'kissed' the floor because it was too wet. She said it while smiling away so both of us laughed it off. But we found out what really happened. Why don't you tell us what really happened, Jae?" Yuri looked at me as everyone's attention turned to me.

I've been quietly listening to all the converstions between the girls. Frankly, my head was spinning with all the memories and all the new information that Taeyeon told me about Uee's side of the story. I sighed as I sat up straight. "I was slapped by a group of girls. I don't who they were but I was washing my hands at the basin when they pushed me to the wall and started slapping me. I think there was about 5 of them. After they saw my lips bleed, they left after calling me a disgusting gay." I said as I heard gasps from the girls and felt Jessica hugging me from the side.

"If you girls think that was bad enough, you've not heard them all. Jae sometimes was tripped while carrying food during lunch making her spill the food while everyone laughed at her. During classes, she became the targets for some childish acts. Boys made fun of her and girls avoided her like as if she's got a disease. Some students also pretended to be friendly with us but that was all because they found out that Jae was rich." Yuri said with a sad tone.

"Some students even came up to me and Yul, advising us to stay away from her. Everytime they did that, we had the urge to tell them that we are gays too but Jae made us promise to keep it a secret. She said that she doesn't want us to go through what she was experiencing and said that  sooner or later everything will just fade away." Taeyeon added on. "But the worst of all was when Jae's parents got to know about it. All 3 of us will never forget what happened."

"Wait! Stop!" Before Taeyeon could continue, I lifted a hand up to intercept her. "Can we just skip that part?" I said as I bite my lips and leaned back into the chair.
