Jessica's POV:

After being apart from Appa for 5yrs, I was amazed with how great his home was. The moment me and Omma walked in, we were stunned.

"Appa, is this really your house?"

"Yes. Why are the both of you still standing at the door? Come on in." Appa gestured us to come in as he helped us out with our luggage. "I've only got two rooms in here. One is mine and the other is a guest room. So both of you will have to share a room, okay."

I nodded my head as I walked to the windows to see the view outside. It was stunning. I've been standing there for about 10mins when Appa came up to stand beside me.

"It wasn't as smooth sailing when I came here 5yrs ago. For 1yr, I worked different kinds of job while trying to find a place that will take me as their fitness instructor but during that time, there wasn't many fitness centre around. It was only after almost 2yrs did my luck change and it's all thanks to your Appa Park. I didn't know my dear dongsaeng had passed away due to the accident. Soo Ri saidthat he had been trying to locate me in Korea to inform me about his wife's death but failed since he was not aware that I had left for the States. After he came back to LA, coincidentally we met each other at the cafe that I was working part time. We had a long chat and at the end of it, he decided to help me out by lending me money to set up my own fitness studio here. The business was blooming especially my boxing classes and within 2yrs, I was able to return back the money that I had borrowed. So for now, since I've had experience in setting up my own business, I was thinking of expanding it to Korea. The branch here will be handled by my assistant while I'll arranged for the opening branch in Korea."

I listened to everything that Appa said and smiled at him. Both of us continued staring out the window to enjoy the morning view until Omma called us. She had managed to prepare some drinks and light refreshments for us. We continued talking until Omma said that she wanted to go and have a rest since she was starting to have jetlag. I continued talking to Appa until I thought of something to ask him. Something that I've been curious about.

"Appa, does Jae and Appa Park also lives in a condominium like you?"

"Mwo? Are you crazy? How can they stay in a place like this?" Appa answered as he started to laugh at me.

I frowned as I kept looking at Appa. "Did I say anything wrong? What's so funny about my question, Appa?"

"Sooyeon-ah, can I ask you something?" I nodded my head. "Do you know exactly how rich Jae's family is?"

I shocked my head as I saw Appa sighing and shaking his head but the smile remains on his face. "I know that Jae is rich and seeing Appa Park's limo earlier, I guess they must be really rich but staying in this kind of condominium is also not cheap, right?"

"It's not cheap, I agree but for their family this would be nothing. I'll just let you see for yourself when we are at their place." Appa was about to say something when his phone rang.

I was starting to feel sleepy while Appa was talking on the phone. I looked at the cloack and saw that it was almost 9am. I stood up and was about to walk away when I heard Appa calling me.

"Sooyeon-ah, if you're going off to sleep, rest longer. Appa Park has change our gathering to dinner instead of lunch. Seems like Jae is totally knocked out from the flight."

I was woken up by Omma at around 4pm. Omma told me to get ready since Appa Park's driver would be coming to fetch us at 6pm. Appa informed us to pack extra clothings, just in case we wanted to spend a night at their house. I asked Omma if she had been to Appa Park's house and she said she did but it was a long time ago. She said she couldn't really remember much about the house but when I asked if it was as big as Appa's house now, she laughed.

"Omma!! Why do you and Appa have the same reaction to my question?"

Omma just continued laughing at me as we made our way to the lobby to meet the driver. This time round, we didn't ride the limo but it was the Bentley Mulsanne. Appa sat beside the driver while me and Omma sat behind.

Looking at the interior of the car, I can understand why Appa Park liked this brand of car. For a business man like him, I think the car will helped him if he was always on the move. After admiring the interior of the car, the driver asked me if I would like to used the privacy curtain of the car or I would like to enjoy the scenery outside. I told him that I would choose the later. As I look out through the car's window, I saw the beautiful scenery as the car started to move away from the city. After about 30mins, I started to see the ocean from far.

"We should be reaching soon." I heard Appa's voice as I just nodded my head.

As the car passed by the main gate, I practically had my jaws dropped. No wonder Appa and Omma were laughing at me when I asked them if Jae and her family lived in a condominium. Seeing their house right now, made me feel stupid of my question earlier.

"So, what do you think Sooyeon? Can you guess how rich Jae's family is?" Appa asked me as the car approached the main building.

"You mean you didn't know that your Appa Park is a billionaire?" Omma asked me as I turned to face her.

"He's a billionaire?!! I thought that he's just rich. As in normal rich. I serious didn't know. Jae didn't tell me anything."

"Typical of Jae. Because of one bad incident, she doesn't want to talk about her family to others." Appa commented.

"Appa, what bad incident are you talking about?" I frowned at Appa who was taken aback by my question.

"Jae didn't tell you about it?" I shook my head. "I think it's better if you get the story from her." Appa replied as he turned around to face the front.

The car came to a stop as the 3 of us stepped out of it. A tall black guy came up to us and greeted Appa. He was wearing a suit as Omma whispered to me, informing me that the guy was the butler. I just nodded my head as I followed Appa who was already walking towards the door, led by the butler. The moment I stepped into the house, I was frozen in my spot. I could see the ocean from a distance and the view was mesmerizing.

"Welcome Mr Jung and also to your family. Please wait in the living room while I go and informed Mr Park of your arrival." An elderly lady had appeared in front of us and bowed slightly to Appa.

"Thank you, Nancy. We'll just wait at the living room then."

The elderly lady walked away as Appa gestured us to follow him. We walked further in to the house and turned to the right to take a seat at the couch that was facing the fireplace. The moment I sat down, Appa explained that the lady earlier was Nancy who was the head housemaid of the house and that she had been working for Appa Park since he was a baby. As I nodded my head, another lady came in and brought along a tray of drinks. I guessed the lady was another housemaid in the house since she was wearing something similar as Nancy.

"Appa, how many people are there working in Appa Park's house?" I asked as I took a glass of water to drink.

"Wait a minute." I saw Appa taking out his hands and started counting his fingers. "If I'm not wrong, there are 9 people. One driver, one butler, one chef, 4 housemaids and 2 gardeners who will also help to clean the swimming pool."

I nodded my head and started to look around the living room. I stood up and walked towards the exterior of the house as I can't believe how beautiful the view from the house was. Standing at the edge of the swimming pool, I heard Appa Park's voice when he greeted my parents as I turned around to greet him too. I returned to face the ocean view once again after that.

I felt someone hugging me from the back 10mins later which startled me a bit. Turning around, I saw Jae smiling at me dorkily as I placed my hands over her arms that was wrapped around my waist.

I was waken up by Nancy at around 6pm. As I kept blinking my eyes, Nancy told me that the guests would be arriving in an hour's time and Appa had reminded her to inform me to get ready by 7pm. I thanked Nancy as she walked out of my room. Taking my towel with me, I went to the bathroom to shower. Frankly speaking, I was still feeling tired because of the jetlag but the thought of Jessica coming over later, energised me.

I had just came out from the shower when I heard someone knocking on the door. Asking the person to come in, it turned out to be Appa.

"You're still in your bathrobe? Uncle Ken and his family are already here."

"Appa, you said to be ready by 7pm. It's only 6.45pm now. So not my fault." I meronged at him before pushing him out of my room so that I can change my clothes.

Walking down to the living room, I noticed that Appa had joined Uncle Ken and Omoni at the couch. They saw me coming and Omoni quickly pointed to the direction to where Jessica was. My angel was standing near the swimming pool with her arms crossed, looking straight ahead. I walked up to her and gave her a backhug which startled her a bit.

"What are you looking at, Sicababy?" I rested my chin on her right shoulders as I felt her hands rubbing my arms that was around her waist.

"The scenery is too beautiful, Jaegi. Why didn't you tell me that your house had such a beautiful view?" She tilted her head a bit so that she can face me.

"Hhhhmmmm, I don't know. Maybe I rarely talked about my life in LA so that's why I didn't tell you." I grinned again as Jessica removed herself from my hug when she heard Omoni calling us. It was time for dinner as I entwined my hand with Jessica's and brought her to the dining area.

Both me and Appa greeted our chef as our housemaids started to bring out the food. It was western style for dinner as I sat beside Jessica with Appa siting at the corner alone. Uncle Ken and Omoni were seated opposite us.

"Jaegi, I didn't know that you're a billionaire until Appa told me when we were standing in front of your house. No wonder Appa and Omoni laughed at me when I asked if you live in a condominium." Jessica said as she re-enacted whatever happened earlier, causing the rest of us to chuckled at her innocence.

"The one who is a billionaire is my Appa, Sicababy. Not me." I replied as I ate a piece of the steak while Jessica's mouth turned into a shape of an 'O'.

"She's not a billionaire but she's atleast a millionaire. Am I right, Jae?" I looked at Appa before nodding my head.

"You're a millionaire? But how? You've not even started working yet." Jessica asked me but I was intercepted before I could answer.

"Jae's parents had started a savings account for her from the time she was born. They even bought shares to invest under her name. So whatever profit that it gained will automatically be put inside her savings." Uncle Ken replied.

"Jae is a shareholder of my company. Currently she holds 40% of the company shares since I gave her Omma's shares to her after her death." Appa added on.

All this while, Jessica practically had her eyes and mouth practically wide opened but I was just sitting there and enjoying my steak.

"Yah, Park Hyun Jae. How can you still continue eating your steak when I'm totally shock with all the information that I'm receiving?" I felt Jessica slapping me hard on my thighs.

"What do you expect me to do, Sicababy?" I asked as I rubbed my thighs, trying to ease away the pain.

"I don't know. Pretend that you're excited about being able to make me surprised?" Jessica tilted her head with a confused look.

I laughed at Jessica's cute reaction as I pinched her cheeks. "Kyeopta."

Uncle Ken, Omoni and Appa just shook their heads as they continued to enjoy the dinner. We chatted about other things as the night progress. I was happy to know that they had brought extra clothings to spend the night at my house.

"We've got 5 guest rooms here so the 3 of you can choose a room each if you want to." Appa said as once again Jessica had the shock expression.

"5 guest rooms? Does that mean this house has 7 rooms inclusive of your room and Jae's room, Appa Park?" I saw Appa nodding his head as he smiled at Jessica. "Daebak!! Omma, do you want to sleep with me or by yourself?"

"Yah, Sicababy. You're suppose to sleep with me." I accidentally burst out my true feelings as everyone turned to look at me.

Scratching the back of my neck, I bowed slightly to everyone and walked away to the 2nd living room. I could hear laughters behind me as I heard Appa and Uncle Ken teasing me. I pretended not to be affected as I switched on the television. It wasn't long before everyone joined me and sat down on the couch except for Jessica who was pouting.

"Gwenchana, Sica?"

"Aren't you going to bring me to tour around your beautiful house, Jaegi?" Jessica asked before folding her arms across her chest.

I quickly stood up and after excusing ourselves to the elders, I brought Jessica up to the 2nd floor. The first room that we encountered after climbing up the stairs would be the weights room. I explained to Jessica that the room was used more frequently by Appa than me. The next room was the indoor theater room. I was amazed to see how she managed to keep giving out the same shocked expression as before.

 

"Jaegi, have you ever brought any other girls to watch a movie in here?" Jessica asked as we took a seat inside.

I frowned and pretended to think hard. "Have. Two of them if I remembered correctly."

Suddenly, Jessica stood up and walked quickly towards the door. Sensing that something was not right, I quickly went after her. She was almost reaching the stairs when I stopped her. As I turned her around to face me, I saw her pouting and there was a tint of anger in her eyes.

"Don't tell me you're angry with me after I told you that I've brought other girls to the movie room before?" Jessica didn't reply my question. Instead she just rolled her eyes at me. "How many times do you have to be jealous of Taeng and Yul, Sicababy?"

"What has Taeng and Yul got to do with all this? The two of them...." Jessica realised her mistake by then as she bite her lips and looked at me nervously. "You were referring to them earlier, is it?"

I smirked and nodded my head at Jessica as she quickly covered her face in embarassment. I took the opportunity to give her a hug as I heard her softly saying her apologies to me. "Sicababy, please don't get jealous so easily and be angry with me. Before you came into my life, the only girls that I was close to was Taeng, Yul and Boa. And maybe also her." I sighed as I leaned against the staircase railings.

"Her? Who is she? Does she have to do with the bad incident that Appa said to me earlier?" Jessica looked at me with concerned eyes.

"What did Appa Ken say to you, with regards to the bad incident?" I asked Jessica, feeling nervous about whatever information that she might have known.

"Appa only said that you didn't like to talk about your family to others because of a bad incident. Was she your ex-girlfriend?"

"Anniyo.. You're my first girlfriend and also my first love. She was just a friend that betrayed my trust." I breathed in hard. "Shall we go to my room?"

When Jessica entered my room, the first thing she did was to stand in front of the big mirror to check on herself. I just smiled looking at her actions as I sat down at one of the sofabeds. After she was done, Jessica came up to me and sat beside me.

"So what actually happened between you and her, Jaegi? Is it okay if I ask you to tell me about it?"

I turned my body sideways so right now, I was lying on my sides while facing Jessica. I looked at her and took her hands before entwining them with mine.

"Her name was Kim Yu Jin but she was better known as Uee. She was in the same middle school as us. As you've already known, me and Taeng were already close to one another since we were 5yrs old which was the time that I came back to Korea. During the first year in middle school, one week after school started, Uee came up to us and wanted to be our friend. We agreed and accepted her friendship. Since the only close friend that I ever had before was Taeng, I didn't thought that it'll be a big deal if people knew who I was. So I started to tell Uee about my family background after 2 weeks of getting to know her. Me and Taeng always find her innocent and a bit ignorant. But things started to change gradually. I didn't exactly noticed it until Taeng pointed it out to me. Uee has been giving me extra attention whenever the 3 of us were to meet up. She would have more skinship with me when compared to Taeng and she would always side with me in everything that I said. At that time, truthfully speaking, I kind of enjoyed the attention that she gave me."

"Did you both have feelings or each other?" Jessica suddenly intercepted my story.

"Feelings? I admit that I liked her but just as a friend. If I was to make a comparison, I'll still like Taeng more than her because Taeng is like a sister to me. I told Taeng not to think too much about it and said that the reason she's acting that way could be because she's starting to feel comfortable with us. But then she started to ask me out to accompany her for lunch or shopping and even sometimes, watching a movie. All those times, Taeng wasn't invited and would just stay in the house even though I did try to ask her to come along. There was once Uee asked me out to have lunch with her during one of the weekends and I actually brought Taeng along. It was obvious from her expression that she was not happy with it but she pretended that it was okay.One thing I realised during my meet ups with her, when there was only the 2 of us, she would asked me to buy things for her, Like branded clothings or accessories. She would only do that when Taeng is not around."

"And you actually paid for all her shopping?" I nodded my head when Jessica asked me that question. "Pabo-yah, Jaegi. She's just making use of you."

"I only knew about that later on. Anyway, it was during one of our meet ups, that we told her about our uality. Our friendship was about 2mths old when Taeng and me decided to be truthful to her. We thought that she would be disgusted with us and ended our friendship but she said that she was okay with it and that she actually had a feeling that both of us were into girls. After our confessions, things were getting more complicated when Uee suddenly confessed to me that she liked me 2 days after that. I was actually taken aback since I didn't exactly share the same feelings as her but I didn't say it out straight to her because I didn't want to hurt her feelings. For the next two weeks, Uee practically started to follow me around like a shadow and was acting all lovey dovey with me even when in school. Taeng was getting irritated with her actions and confronted me about it when we were at home. I told her what happened and Taeng asked me to tell her the truth about my feelings."

I saw Jessica rolled her eyes at me as I stopped to grin at her. "Wae, Sicababy? What's with that expression?"

"If you don't like someone, you should say it straight to that person so that the person won't have high hopes on you. You're just going to hurt her further if you didn't tell the truth."

"That was exactly what Taeng said. So I decided to talk things out with Uee the next day. At first, she said that she was heartbroken and hurt with my decision. Me and Taeng didn't see her in school for the next 3 days. I was starting to feel bad and guilty about it until we saw her on the 4th day. She told me that she won't give up on me but she won't force me to accept her. I thought everything was fine but she started to borrow money from me, saying that her father had just been retrenched from work which was why she didn't attend school for the past 3 days. She said that she had went to look for a part time job during those days. Feeling bad about her situation, I told her that she can always come to me if she needed any financial help until everything stabilise for her. From that day onwards, she began asking me for money. At first it was only once a week but soon, it become almost everyday. The amount was also increasing by day. Taeng was beginning to be suspicious and without my knowledge, she did some investigation by herself."

"Let me guess. She was making use of you to get money?" Jessica asked as I nodded my head. "Aigoo, Jaegi-yah. How did you end up being a pabo?"

I pouted as Jessica gestured me to continue talking. "Taeng found out that Uee actually had a boyfriend who was a first year high school student and she used the money that I gave her to spend it with her boyfriend. So we decided to confront them during one of their dates. Uee was totally shocked when she saw us as I went up to her and calmly said that it was the end of our friendship. By the way, do you still remember the story that Yuri said where she saw us being beaten up by bullies?"

Jessica frowned for a while as she paused to recall before nodding her head.

"Uee went to look for me and apologised for everything that she had done. She said that her boyfriend came from a rich family so she wanted to be compatible with him. Initially, I wanted to forgive her but then a student ran up to me and said that Taeng was in trouble. That's when I ran up to help Taeng and you should already know the rest of the story. It turns out the bullies were send by Uee's boyfriend. Uee told him that I've got feelings for her which is why he send them to give us a warning. When the bullies came to look for me, Taeng suspected that they were looking for trouble so she didn't want to cooperate with them and even tricked them. We didn't hear much about what happened to Uee after that except that she transferred out from school in the 2nd year. This whole incident gave me a friend in Yul but it made me feel cautious of others. If I didn't tell people about my family, Taeng won't have to suffer because of me."

After ending my story, I laid down on my back and put my right arm under my head. I sighed as I closed my eyes momentarily. Suddenly I felt Jessica leaning forward and kissed me on my forehead.

"It's all in the past, Jaegi. Just take it as a learning lesson. I'm here with you right now. I won't let anyone take advantage of you anymore." Jessica smiled at me. "Only I can do that to you."

I chuhckled at Jessica's cheeky answer. "Gomawo, Sicababy." I cuddled nearer to Jessica as we both just enjoyed the silence between us.

15mins later, I carried the sleeping princess to my bed and tucked her in under the blanket before giving her a goodnight  kiss on her forehead. As I climbed on the bed to lie down beside her, Jessica shifted her body and hugged me like a koala. 'Looks like someone is making it a habit to hug me to sleep.'
