"You have to wear pink also, Taeng."

"Andwae. I'm not going to wear pink. Especially not in front of so many people." Taeyeon pouted as she looked at Yuri and Sooyoung who were standing in front of her.

After paying for my clothes at the cashier, I walked back to the 3 of them who were standing in front of the changing room. The 4 of us were at the mall to buy clothes for the party tomorrow. Actually, only me and Taeyeon were buying since Yuri and Sooyoung said that they had bought theirs.

"What's wrong? You guys are still not done yet?" I asked.

"Taeng doesn't want to wear the pink suit that we pick out for her. We found out from Sunny that Tiffany will be wearing a pink dress with small blue motif on it so we thought that Taeng should wear something similar since they're a couple."

I looked at the suit that Yuri was holding. I nodded my head, took the suit and handed it over to Taeyeon. "Just give it a try."

Taeyeon took the pink suit, meronged at me and walked into the changing room.  I then walked to a nearby couch and sat down while I waited for Taeyeon.

"Hey, Yul. Why does Taeng listen to Jae so well?" Sooyoung whispered toYuri

"That's because Taeng really looked up to Jae. They grew up together and Jae has always been the one that protects Taeng from the bullies in school. Jae is like an older sibling to Taeng since she is not that close to her own brother. Jae treats Taeng like her precious sister that she never had and always take care of Taeng. That's why they're very close to each other." Sooyoung nodded her head as they both walked towards the couch to join me.

After the trip to the mall, all 4 of us returned to the dorm. Since all of us will be going to the party together, we decided to meet up tomorrow at the dorm lobby. We decided to buy some food on our way back and also bought extra for Sunny and Jessica. We called them up to our dorm to eat dinner together.

"So Sica, how do you feel now after the arranged marriage is off?" Yuri asked when we were halfway eating.

"Feel relieved I guess. It's like a burden off my shoulders. I don't have to put up with anymore of his arrogance and both of us can stop with the pretense."

"Since you are single and available now, any plans to mingle around to look for any suitable partner?" Sunny as she kept giving eye signal to Jessica towards Jae's direction. Sooyoung caught Sunny doing it and decided to join in.

"If you don't want to mingle, we already have one suitable candidate for you here. Right, Jae?" Sooyoung tapped me on my back causing me to choke on my food that I was chewing.

Jessica panicked and ran to the kitchen to grab a glass of water and towel for me. I wiped my mouth and drank the water before turning to Sooyoung and glared at her.

"Omo omo omo... I didn't know Jessica can run until I saw it just now." Taeyeon continued teasing Jessica while the girls laughed out loud except for me.

"Yah!! Stop it. That's enough. No more teasing." I said as I shook my head.

"Wah... Jae is so protective of Sica. So sweet. Well, Sica did say that Jae was a great person and it was too bad that she was in an arranged marriage then." Sunny continued talking even though Jessica tried to cover .

"Sica said that?" Sooyoung asked as she kept shoving me at my shoulder.

"But now Sica is already single so..." Taeyeon didn't complete her sentence when I stood up and carry my plate to the kitchen.

I was washing my plate when Jessica walked in and stood beside me.

"Jae, mianhae. You must be angry with me right now for all the teasing that they did to us."

"I'm not angry at you, Sica. I'm used to their teasings. I should be apologising to you since it must have been awkward for you to be teased by them. Mianhae."

"It's okay, Jae. There are just lively like that. Two weeks of summer break is almost gone but we haven't really did much activity together as a group."

"Oh yes. Should we plan another trip to the Han river? You didn't manage to participate much the last time because of your injury. Let's suggest to the girls tomorrow after Fany's party."

"Talking about the party, I've already asked Tiff about what you texted me the other day. Her dad already arranged for alive band tomorrow. Why did you ask me to ask Tiff anyway?"

"Just asking. Thanks for the help, Sica." I gave her a dorky smile and I noticed her blushing before the both of us went out to join the rest of the girls in the living room.

Me, Taeyeon and Sooyoung were waiting at the dorm lobby for the rest of the girls. Hyoyeon and Yuri had went to the bus stop to fetch their girlfriends. As the 4 of them walked in, I noticed that they were wearing similar couple-like clothes.

YoonYul:

HyoHyun:

"Wow, the four of you look so nice and you have something red in your dressing. Just like what Fany wanted." I said as Sooyoung and Taeng nodded their head in agreement.

"Omo, Taeng. You look so cute in that pink suit. Fany would be delighted to see you later especially when she's not aware that you're coming." Yoona said.

"Where's Sunny and Jessica? It's already 4.15pm. We'll be late if we don't leave soon since the party starts at 5pm." Seohyun said with a worried face.

"It's okay Seohyun. Both me and Soo had borrowed our dad's car since yesterday so we will drive you all there later." Yuri replied.

"Mianhae, mianhae." Sunny walked towards Sooyoung and hugged her. Sunny was wearing a red and white strip top, similar like Sooyoung. "Sorry that we are late. Sica will be coming down soon. She couldn't decide what to wear earlier and omo omo omo...."

Everyone turn to look at Sunny with a confused face while Sunny had her eyes fixed on me.

SooSun:

"Wae, Bunny? Why do you look at Jae and grinning like that?" Sooyoung asked as she sounded a bit jealous.

Before Sunny could reply her, we heard Jessica's voice coming from the lift. The rest of us turned to look at her and instantly, everyone understood why Sunny had that reaction earlier. Now all of them had the similar grins on their faces as both me and Jessica were just smiling awkwardly to each other.

JaeSica: (Imagine Jae was wearing that)

"Did the both of you plan to wear red jeans together?" Sunny asked with a cheeky grin.

"Anni..." Both me and Jessica answered at the same time while the rest of the girls laughed at our reactions.

I scratched the back of my neck and giggled sheepishly at Jessica who was obviously blushing since her face was really red at the moment. "Let's go. We might be late for the party if we don't make a move." I walked away trying to get myself out from the situation as I heard the girls continue teasing me.

SooSun and HyoHyun rode off in Sooyoung's dad car while me, Jessica and Taeyeon followed the YoonYul couple in Yuri's dad car.

Sooyoung's Dad car and Yuri's Dad car:

"Hey Jae, I didn't know you've got a pair of red jeans before. This is the first time I saw you wearing it." Taeyeon asked while we were in the car.

I was seated between Taeyeon on my right and Jessica on my left. "I just bought it yesterday. I paid for it while you were busy trying to get away from trying on the pink suit."

Taeyeon meronged at me and took off her pink blazer, leaving her in just the blue shirt inside. I noticed that Jessica was being quiet and she was looking a bit sleepy. Aisshh.. this girl. The moment she can feel aircon on her skin, she will feel sleepy. I leaned nearer to her and whispered in her ears.

"Get some rest. I'll wake you up once we've reached. You can lean on my shoulders if you want." I saw her nodding her head as she leaned on my shoulders.

"Hey Jae, how are we going to perform later? We don't have our instruments with us." Yuri asked as her eyes were still focused on the road.

"You all are going to perform? Daebak!!" Yoona squealed in excitement.

"Yoona, sorry but Sica is asleep." I smiled at Yoona as she covered and bowed slightly to apologise. "I've asked Sica to check with Tiffany if there was any entertainment during the party and lucky for us, Fany informed her that there will be live band performance. So I was thinking that we can borrow their instruments when we are performing later."

"Am I suppose to join you all straight away or should I appear just before the performance?"

All of us suddenly became quiet as we all were thinking about Taeyeon's question. Yoona then suggested that since Taeyeon was small, we could easily hide her behind us. Since there were 8 other girls, Taeyeon could stand behind us while the rest try to distract Tiffany's attention. We all agreed to her suggestion as I took out my phone to text Hyoyeon.

Meanwhile in the other car

"Bunny, do you know anything about Jessica's feelings towards Jae? You seem to know something when I noticed you teasing her during dinner yesterday."

"I think I know something but I'm not going to tell you unless you tell me about the secret that you, Jae, Yul and Taeng are keeping among yourselves."

"Secret? What secret? We don't have any secret." Sooyoung tried to remain calm as she focused on the road.

"Don't try to deny it, my dear shikshin. I observed how the 4 of you were not showing much reaction after finding out about Sica's arranged marriage being cancelled."

Before Sooyoung and Sunny could continue their conversation, Hyoyeon intercepted by informing them about my message with regards to hiding Taeyeon from Tiffany's attention once we arrived at the party.

"Why do we have to hide Taeng from Fany? Won't she be happy to see Taeyeon there?" Seohyun asked with a confused look.

"Jae said that they are going to perform later so they need to hide Taeyeon first because their performance is a surprise gift for Tiffany." Hyoyeon answered Seohyun's question.

The two cars entered the carpark as Tiffany's dad had organised the party at a multi-purpose hall. The girls reached there 5mins before 5pm as they exited the cars. They quickly gathered around and hide Taeyeon behind their backs, away from Tiffany's eyes who were standing near the entrance with her dad. I walked slighly slower to accompany Taeyeon at the back who obviously was nervous.

"Taeng, once we are at the entrance and distracting Fany, try to sneak in and linger around the live band area so that it'll be easier for us to find you later."

Taeyeon nodded her head to me. "But Jae, it seems that there's a lot of people here today. How can I perform in front of them later?" Taeyeon frowned with a worried face.

"Don't worry. We'll be there for you."

"Girls!! So glad that all of you are here already."

TaeNy:

Tiffany's loud voice could be heard as the rest of us tried to gather around her while Taeyeon quickly sneaked away. We chatted at the entrance for a while until her dad said that it's time for Tiffany to move inside the hall to meet the rest of the guests. I pulled Yuri and Sooyoung to the sides and asked them to follow me to look for Taeyeon. We saw her sitting at a corner behind the live band, looking distraughted. That's when I noticed that she was not wearing her pink blazer.

"Taeng, where's your blazer?"

"Oh . I left it in Yuri's car. And Fany's present is in the blazer's pocket. I'll go and take it."

"Oh no, you don't. We can't afford to have you get caught by Fany right now. Soo, stay here with her to ensure that everything is fine. Yul, let's go and take her blazer."

I walked across the hall towards the entrance when I noticed Jessica talking to a guy, near the food section. They seem to be quite close as I saw the guy taking a drink for Jessica who was smiling at him and nodding her head. I grabbed Yuri's arm and pointed at them.

"Who's that guy?"

"From what Taeng told me, his name is Lee Donghae. He's in the same course as Soo and her. From what Yoona told me, he used to be in the same high school as Sica. He introduced himself to them during the celebration event. From what I know, he was invited along when Mr Hwang invited all of us on the same day. He was part of the organising committee along with Siwon. And from what Sunny told me, Sica has been complaining about him, trying to ask her out for a cup of coffee but she had been declining his offer"

I had my jaws dropped, listening to Yuri's long explanation. This kkabyul really knows how to save time from anwering my questions later by explaining it all in one shot.

"A new competitor for me?" I asked as Yuri just shrugged her shoulder. I sighed as I looked back at the guy and Sica.

"Don't worry too much. Even if he's a competitor, I got a feeling that Sica is not really interested in him. She seems more interested in you though." Yuri smirked at me as she pulled me towards the entrance to get to her car.

We walked back quickly to find only Sooyoung at the exact same place. Sooyoung pointed to where Taeyeon was and we saw her crouching down at the back of the stage, further in from the place she was earlier. We asked her what happened and Sooyoung explained that Taeyeon was really nervous right now about performing on stage, especially when she saw the number of guests around. With the addition of Tiffany's family and her dad's friends, there were about 70 guests. Taeyeon had never performed in front of a crowd before. Actually none of us had done so but the pressure will be more on Taeyeon since she'll be singing. I walked up to Taeyeon and squatted beside her.

"Gwenchana?"

"Jae." Taeyeon looked up and faced me.

From her eyes, I saw how scared and nervous she was at the moment. I put my hands over her shoulders. "It's okay, Taeng. I understand. Don't push yourself if you can't, even though I believe that you're braver than what you think you are." I smiled and stood up. I walked towards Sooyoung and Yuri.

"Soo, can you help me to look after Taeng for a while?" Sooyoung nodded her head. "Yul, I need your help. Do your remember the song that we sang for Taeng during her birthday before I left for the States?"

"I do. You want us to perform that first so that Taeng can gain courage from it?" I nodded at Yul and gave her a high-five.

I walked to the side of the stage and talked to one of the performers there. I asked him if it was possible for me to borrow the stage to perform one song. The old man agreed and asked if I needed to use any instruments or if I needed any assistance. I told him that I'll need to borrow a guitar which he passed one to me.

"Hey Yul, will you both be okay? Have you guys done this before?" Sooyoung asked as she frowned.

"No. None of us had performed live on stage before. Even though Jae looked calm, I can bet you that she's nervous like hell right now. But she's doing this for Taeng and hopefully, Taeng will know what to do."

I breathed in hard as I prepared myself to go on stage as I handed the guitar to Yuri. I wanted Taeyeon to see that it's not a big deal to perform in front of the crowd tonight. The old man gestured to me that it was okay for us to go up the stage. We bowed and thanked him as we walked up. I put two chairs at the centre stage as Yuri prepared to tune the guitar. It seems that the old man had informed the guests that there will be a change of performers as everyone's attention was already on us. I gulped down my saliva and smiled sheepishly as we both bowed towards the crowd and sat down.

"Annyeonghaseyo, Hyun Jae-imnida and beside me here is Yuri-shi. I'm actually here to perform along with my good friends tonight as a surprise gift for Tiffany but the lead singer is currently going through some nervous breakdown." I gave a dorky smile as the crowd laughed at my remarks. "So as a morale booster for her, we decided to come up here and performed first. Hopefully, she can gain courage from it." The crowd cheered me on as I saw Tiffany clapping at the side with Jessica standing beside her, smiling at me. I noticed that the guy, Donghae, was also standing beside Jessica.

"We sang this song for our dear friend during one of her birthday to show her that she can always count on us to be there for her. Hope you all will enjoy it too."

Jessica's POV:

I was shocked to hear Jae's voice talking through the mic. She disappeared along with Sooyoung and Yuri a while ago. I decided to talk to Tiffany while Donghae continued to stick beside me all the time. This guy really knows how to get on my nerves. I've been trying hard to be nice to him since just now with the hope that he'll leave me alone soon. Back to Jae, even Tiffany was shocked to see her on stage. I giggled along with the crowd when she said that the lead singer had a nervous breakdown but I noticed that Jae was actually nervous herself. Since Yuri will be playing the guitar, I guess Jae will be singing. I miss hearing Jae's voice when she sing live. There's something in her voice that can calm me down and make me smile.

Taeyeon's POV:

I heard Jae's voice through the speaker at the side. I quickly stood up and walked towards Sooyoung who was standing facing the stage. She seem to be intensely watching something as I followed her gaze. I saw Jae and Yuri sitting on the stage. Jae was talking to the crowd while Yuri was tuning the guitar. From the corner of the stage, I can see that Jae's left leg was shaking repetitively, a habit of her everytime when she's nervous. Even though she looked calm talking to the crowd, I knew she wasn't at all. I turned to Sooyoung who smiled at me. "They wanted to do this to help you." was what Sooyoung whispered into my ears. The moment I heard Jae starts singing that song, I remembered the 2 of them singing it to me during my birthday. I breathed in hard and remembered what Jae told me earlier. I walked up to the old man at the side and asked him permission to perform one more song after them. He nodded his head as I walked back to Sooyoung to inform her that we'll be going up once they are done.

The moment I finished my song, I heard thunderous claps from the floor. Yuri and I bowed down as I smiled towards Jessica but what caught my attention was when I saw Tiffany's shocked face as she pointed to a direction behind me. I turned around to see Taeyeon walking towards me with Sooyoung.

"Annyeonghaseyo, Taeyeon-imnida. I'm actually the lead singer who was having the nervous breakdown earlier." Everyone laughed out loud to Taeng's dorky remarks. "I would like to thank my best friends, Jae and Yuri who took the effort to do all this for me. So now it's my turn to perform for the birthday girl." Everyone continued clapping hard as Taeyeon suddenly gestured for Tiffany to come on stage.

While Tiffany was making her way up, Yuri stood up with the guitar, allowing Taeyeon to sit on the chair. Sooyoung went to the drums while I proceeded to sit near the grand piano that was at the corner of the stage, near to where Jessica was standing. I noticed that Jessica seemed to be uncomfortable standing beside Donghae who was continuously trying to talk to her.

"Sica, want to come up and sit beside me here?" I smiled at her and almost burst out laughing, seeing how fast she nodded her head and quickly walked away from Donghae to sit beside me.

As I waited for Jessica to come up, I saw Tiffany sat beside Taeyeon and suddenly Taeyeon hold her hand and looked her in the eye.

"I'm sorry if the past few days has been a torture to you but believe me when I said it was torturous for me too. I'm sorry for hiding my honest feelings and causing you unnecessary hurt. I may not be rich with money but I'm rich with love for you. I may not be good-looking but I hope I'm cute enough for you. I may not be the smartest kid in town but I'm smart enough to treasure and appreciate the love that we have for each other. I may make mistakes and hurt you at times but my love for you will never change. So, Tiffany Hwang, if I come running back to you, will you stay and hold me in your arms again?"

Before Tiffany could reply back to Taeyeon, I saw her giving me the cue to start playing the song that we've been practicing the past few days.

As Taeyeon continued singing while holding on to Tiffany's hand, I was in my own blissful world with Jessica sitting beside me. Both of us were smiling to each other as Jessica continued staring at me while I played the piano. When the song came to an end, everyone clapped so loud that I couldn't stopped smiling but the best part was when Tiffany suddenly kissed Taeyeon on the lips and said through the mic.

"I love you, Taetae and no matter what, you're the only one for me."

I heard the crowd cheered the couple on and without realising, I grabbed Jessica's hands and hold it tight. All of us went down the stage and joined the rest of the girls.

"Taeng, that's so cool and romantic. Fany-ah, you're so lucky." Yoona said causing Yuri to pout.

"Anni, I'm the lucky one because she choose to be with me. Someone who don't have.." Taeyeon's sentence were cut short when Tiffany put a finger on her lips.

"No, Taetae. You have everything that I always wanted in a partner and we're lucky to have each other."

"Oouuwww... That's so sweet. But why is Jae and Sica holding hands?" Sunny asked with a cheeky grin as the rest of the girls turn to look at my entwined hands with Jessica. The both of us suddenly let go of our hands and chuckled in embarassment.

"Wait a minute. I just realised that Jae and Sica are wearing couple-like attire as well. Just like the rest of the girls with their partners. Is there something going on between the two of you?" Tiffany asked as she pointed to both of us.

"Anni.." Both of us again answered at the same time, causing the girls to laugh.

"Fany-ah, do you like my attire?" Taeyeon asked while pouting as Tiffany nodded her head vigorously.

"I love it, Taetae and I know how much you dislike wearing pink. Thank you. For the surprise appearance, the song and also for wearing pink. But does that mean we are not celebrating tomorrow?" It was Tiffany's turn to pout.

"We are still going out tomorrow and before I forget, this is for you." Taeyeon took out a box and gave it to Tiffany.

Tiffany opened the box and was shocked to see the inside. The only thing that she said was 'oh my gosh' before Taeyeon took out the necklace and put it on for Tiffany. Then she took the other necklace and asked Tiffany to put it on her.

"Only I will have the key to your lock and only together will our heart be complete." Taeyeon smiled as me, Sooyoung, Yuri and Hyoyeon pretended to barf at her cheesiness while Jessica, Sunny, Yoona and Seohyun clapped and cheered the TaeNy couple.

"Wow, looks like everyone is in a good mood."

All of us turned to see Mr Hwang and Siwon standing behind us.

"Annyeonhaseyo, Mr Hwang." All of us except for Tiffany bowed down and greeted him.

"Taeyeon, right?" Mr Hwang smiled as Taeyeon nodded her head. "Thank you for making my girl so happy today. I would like to apologise for any misunderstanding that happened between us that day. Tiffany has been nagging at me since the day you both had an honest talk to each other that night."

"Mianhae, Mr Hwang. I didn't expect Fany to nag at you." Taeyeon shyly answered. She had told Tiffany about how she felt upset that Tiffany's dad didn't acknowledge her and even kept praising Siwon in front of her. Taeyeon really didn't expect Tiffany to actually informed her dad about it.

"Mr Hwang? Shouldn't you be calling me Appa also like Fany?" Mr Hwang said.

"Ap.. Appa Hwang?" Taeyeon replied with a dorky smile.

"Uncle Hwang, you mean you are agreeing to them being together?" Siwon suddenly asked, causing all of us to look at him. "But she's not compatible with Tiffany. Her dad is only a driver."

Suddenly Taeyeon grabbed Siwon by his collar and stared at him. Taeyeon could barely reached him but from her eyes, you could see how angry she was at the moment. "Even if my dad is only a driver, it doesn't make him any less human than anyone of us here."

Everyone was shocked to see Taeyeon's drastic reaction except for me and Yuri. Sooyoung and Hyoyeon tried to pull her away but her grip was very tight on Siwon's collar. She only let go when she heard Tiffany's voice.

"Taetae, let him go." Taeyeon dropped her hands to the sides and sighed before apologising to Siwon. She wanted to walk away but Tiffany grabbed her hands.

"Siwon, it's not in your position to tell me who I'm compatible with. Just for your info. No matter what her family background is, as long as her name is Kim Taeyeon, I will still choose her because that's the girl that I fell in love with. The person itself and not the family background."

Taeyeon looked up with teary eyes as Tiffany gave her an eye-smile and squeezed her hands tightly. Siown apologised to Taeyeon and left. Mr Hwang patted Taeyeon's back and told her to take care of Tiffany while he continued to entertain the other guests.

"So are we going to eat or not?" Sooyoung asked as the rest of us burst into laughter while Sunny just shook her head at her shikshin girlfriend.
