Change of plans, I can’t finish this so soon -.-“

“____?”

Chen’s voice appeared and you glanced up to see him. He put on a cap and wore a stylish torn sweater and skinny jeans. He was smiling down at you at the counter.

“What are you doing here, Chen?”

You asked him to come in to the counter and he did. He sat next to you and turned his back on you. “I went to your house but your mother said you are here, guarding the restaurant” He chuckled and leaned his back on your left arm.

“Did you miss me?”

You choked at his cocky question and elbowed him. “Shut up, cocky bastard” you laughed at him. Thank God that the restaurant was empty because the sun was setting.

Chen grinned and pushed himself on you, making you fell to the side while laughing. “Stop it!” You pushed him off from you and he loosened himself so he won’t hurt you. “Fine, I was just playing” He grinned and poked his finger on your cheek.

“Do you want to close the restaurant now? I came here to help you” He blinked at your tired face and pulled you lightly by your forearm.

You turned to him and smiled, Chen was a busy guy to be honest. But he decided to spend his time with you. After what he had witnessed few weeks ago at the hotel that Kris ignored you at the table, he felt guilty for you.

He didn’t know what got into his duizhang, he had tried to talk to Kris but Kris had gone back to Canada after the dinner.

Chen lightly pulled you against him and cuddle with you. Your eyes rounded and choked, “C-Chen, what are you doing?”

“I’m hugging you, so stay still” He smiled and rested his head on your shoulder. Your body was stiff as usual, the only person that you can be comfortable around with when hugging were only Kris.

Chen exhaled and pulled away from you; “Duizhang, he’s back in Canada” he peered down at your face and saw your face crumpled up at the mention of your ex-lover. It was obvious that you were trying to hold back your tears.

“I tried to call him, but it always leads me to voicemail.” Chen patted your head and stood up. “Listen ___, whatever happens, I want you to know that Kris really loves you” Chen stared at your face; you were staring up at him with teary eyes and he felt guilty again.

“He ignored me, you saw it.” You wiped your tears with your sleeves and then cupped your mouth to prevent yourself from whimpering. “Kris threw me away” You whispered.

Chen’s shoulders deflated, he sighed at the sight that was displayed in front of him. Even though you were not his girlfriend, he cared for you like a little sister. “I need to know Kris’s point of view before I can jump into conclusion”

He kneeled down to your side and cupped your face, wiping your tears with his thumb in progress. “So don’t let your hopes down, Kris might be thinking of you right now. Let’s just close the shop okay?” He gave you his charming smile.

Chen pulled you up and went out from the counter to the door, fiddling through some keys to close up the shop. You stared at Chen for a moment before turning away to clean up the place. Whatever Chen told you just now about Kris, you hoped that it was true.
