“Aren’t you supposed to be in jail, Wu Yi Fan?”

Your mouth fell opened, while Kris on the other hand was paralyzed on his feet. Your grandpa knew about Kris? You never mentioned Kris in front of your grandpa before; you didn’t even meet your grandpa for years!

Grandpa quirked his brows up and gave Kris a stern look when the boy ahead of him didn’t reply his question, “Disrespectful, I dislike you already”

Kris stood there, speechless. He never seen this man anywhere before, he was never fond of old folks anyways, even to his own grandparents.

“Aigoo, father in law, please” Your mother clung onto his right arm and gave him her best smile. “This is Kris, my future son in law!” Of course, your mother knew nothing about this.

You blinked and jolted up when your grandpa gave you a glare, obviously, he was rejecting the offer having Kris as his grandson in law.

He opened his mouth to question you more about this matter but you cut his sentence off with a coward face. “NO, grandpa, of course not, Kris is my friend – “

Your mother cut you off with a grin, “A close friend, ” she giggled and gestured you and Kris to come in without grandpa’s permission, earning a spiteful glare from your grandpa.

“I never invited you to come in – “

“But we’re here already father, let us in, let us in, let us in” your mother pumped her fist up and down while shouting, poor grandpa couldn’t help but to give in to your mother or else she won’t stop.

All the way from the door to the living room, your grandpa trailed behind Kris with his eyes fixated on his back. Kris was stiff and scared because this old man knew that he was a prisoner.

How, he doesn’t know it, yet.

Kris was well aware that grandpa’s eyes were firmly on him so he guarded his actions, afraid that the old man would say anything about him being a prisoner if he took a wrong damn step.

“Where’s grandma?”

You tried to break the ice in between Kris and your grandpa. True, you were scared of your grandpa ever since you met him because of his strict personality. But grandpa was wise and thoughtful, he was lovable to be exact but he was cold hearted – most of the time.

“Why don’t you go and find her?” Grandpa shifted his glance toward you when he settled himself down onto his favourite arm chair. “Your mother is in the kitchen with your grandma, go” He urged you with his wrinkly old grandpa hand.

Glancing toward Kris’s direction, you hesitated. Leaving Kris alone with grandpa in the living room now was a bad idea.

Feeling that someone was staring at him, Kris glanced up finally and met eyes with you; he softened and nodded at you, telling you that he would be fine being in the living room with your grandpa alone.

Grandpa witnessed the whole thing, and let me tell you all, that grandpa didn’t soften at the sight in front of him, not even one tiny bit.

“I won’t hurt him, so go” Grandpa sent his message directly at you without giving you any glances. Sighing, you turned around and walked through the back, turning right to the kitchen.

Seeing that you were out of sight, grandpa turned to Kris and pointed a wrinkly finger at him. “Don’t cause any troubles; I can report you with just one call”

Kris nodded and hung his head low, afraid that he would do something unlikely for your grandpa’s tastes.

Grandpa stared at him and examined his features, he saw how define Kris looked with that blonde hair, though the roots of his hair was growing, showing his real hair colour.

He knew Kris wanted to know how he knew all of these prisoner stuffs, and he didn’t hesitate to tell Kris about what he knew.

“I knew your mother,” grandpa began and Kris’s ears perked up, finally knowing the reason that your grandpa actually knew his mother, so the answer led him to one of his question at how your grandpa knew his real name.

“I knew your father through your mother, he is a good man” grandpa nodded and turned around, sending yet another glare at Kris.

“I know that you’re innocent, but, you are an escaped prisoner” he broke the eye contact and stared at the TV screen, trying to figure out what he should say next.

Kris waited for grandpa with his head hung low; he didn’t dare to look up, not in this situation when your grandpa knew about him – being a prisoner.

“Therefore, you’ll cause my granddaughter many troubles” he sighed and kept his face straight. “So I disagree with the idea of you, being in a relationship with my granddaughter”

He paused and leaned against the chair, sighing while Kris stayed silent, listening to him while taking in everything. “I think ____ is facing troubles with the police, your nemesis or maybe even with your mother, I suppose?”

Oh he was wise indeed because he was old enough to know what the best was and what was not. If you gave grandpa a sentence, he can analyze everything down for you in just one minute. Kris realized that, and he certainly knew that he couldn't lie to this old man.

“My friends are trying their best to hide ___,” because I can't do anything. Kris kept that to himself though.

"That's not enough!"

Grandpa scoffed and smoothed his pants, continuing his sentences “She’ll get hurt in the end, not mentally, but physically” he glanced up at Kris and raised a brow at the younger boy.

“You wouldn’t want her to get hurt right?”

Kris stopped and thought of BAP. Those bastards can hurt you, so badly that maybe you could even die from their gang . They were heartless and mindless, and very smart bastards too. And his mother, Kris knew that his mother would do anything to separate you and him apart.

Of course Kris doesn’t want you to get hurt, but he loved you so much that he wouldn’t dare to let you go. Letting you go would be a terrible mistake, because it was you who brought light to his heart when everything was dark. He cannot find anyone that was capable enough to do that other than you.

But keeping you would be dan
