Semi’s POV

 

After our shopping, we were walking back to my apartment. Suddenly, Shijimi pulled me aside to one corner.

 

“Shijimi! What happened?”

 

“....... That man… is my father…”

 

I turned to look at the direction where Shijimi was pointing to, and saw a middle-aged man with a young lady who looks like she’s in her early twenties.

 

“........ Why is he with another woman…?”

 

“............” It seems that her father is now going out with another lady.

 

“Ah! They’re running towards this way!” Shijimi sounded really panic.

 

I turned and look at them, the young lady was dragging Shijimi’s father’s hand and running in the direction towards us.

 

“...... I can’t let him see me…!!! I don’t know what he’ll do again…!!!” Shijimi looks really frightened.

 

. We have nowhere to run now…

 

The running footsteps are getting louder and louder…

 

*GRABS*

 

“Ah umm...!” Shijimi’s voice was muffled by my shoulders.

 

The next moment, I realized I have grabbed Shijimi towards my body... To say it clearly, I have hugged her. My right hand was on the back of her head, and pushing her face into my chest. My left hand was over her right shoulders covering her face.

 

*PUMPS*

 

, my heart is pumping again…

 

I hope she doesn’t hear it…

 

I could hear the running footsteps passing by us, and gradually it became softer.

 

I slowly let go of Shijimi as well.

 

I realized Shijimi is still looking at the floor, is she still worried of being seen by her father?

 

“Shijimi, it’s fine, they’re gone.” I pushed her face up by her chin.

 

“Oh… ok…”

 

*PUMPS*

 

. MY HEART IS PUMPING HARD AGAIN.

 

Shijimi was blushing really badly, she looks really really cute.

 

Was she feeling embarrassed from my actions just now…?

I find myself getting nervous as well… What should I say…

 

“Semi… Thank you…”

 

“........ It’s nothing… Let’s go back.”

 

Naturally my hand went for hers, and I dragged her to walk with me back to my apartment.

 

I was trying not to look at her too much, as I could feel my face getting hot again.

 

. Why does she constantly make me feel weird??

 

Neither one of us was speaking on the way back. I was shocked by my actions earlier too. But in that situation I could only do that… Right…?

 

After getting back, I asked Shijimi to take a shower first. She came out wearing her newly bought clothes.

This is the first time I have someone in my apartment with me… I’m not sure what I should do…

 

“Semi, I’m done! You can go take a shower!”

 

“Ok…”

 

I went into the bathroom and took the time to think of what I should do…

 

But I could reach no answers…

 

I came out of the shower, and saw Shijimi falling asleep on the sofa.

 

I wanted to carry her to the bed, but she was awaken by my movements.

 

“Ah, Semi… You’re done?”

 

“Yeah, go sleep on the bed, I’ll sleep on the sofa.”

 

“Ah! No! I’ll sleep on the sofa, I shouldn’t trouble you even more.”

 

“............” I ignored her request and carried her to the bed.

 

“Semi, I…”

 

“Good night!”

 

I said and lie down on my sofa.

 

I find myself getting sleepy very soon… Somehow I’m feeling comfortable… Because, I’m not alone in this apartment now…  

 

And I fell asleep really quickly……

*RINGSSSSSSSSSS*

 

AH!! MY EAR!!!

 

I woke up from the ringing in my ears, this is damn irritating!!!

 

“ARGHH!!!”

 

“Semi!!!”

 

……….

 

Shijimi was calling me…?!?!

 

My ringing is gone in seconds again…

 

I could feel sensations on my left ear, I took a closer look in the dark room,

 

It was Shijimi, her hands are on my ear again…

 

“Semi! Are you alright??”

 

“Ah… Yes I’m fine now…”

This is definitely not my delusion, my ringing always stop upon Shijimi’s touch… This is the third time already…

 

“Come, have a glass of water.”

 

“Thanks… Oh, did I wake you up?”

 

I wondered why Shijimi appeared right beside me when my ear started ringing.

 

“Oh nonono! I was…” Shijimi was stumbling on her words.

 

“You were…?”

 

“Hmm… Nothing!! I’m going back to sleep!!!”

 

“Shi…!” I was about to call her but I saw a piece of paper dropping on the floor when she ran back to the bed.

 

I picked it up and took a look at it…

It was a hand-drawn portrait...…

 

Of me…??

 

The ‘me’ in the portrait…

 

Was smiling…

 

So I look like this when I smile…?

 

When did Shijimi see my smile…?

 

Ah!

 

Was it during the time we were shopping together…?

 

Did I…

 

Smiled because of her…?

 

But… Her drawing is good… It was lively…

 

I turned to look at Shijimi who is lying on the bed now…

 

Was she looking at my sleeping face while drawing this?

 

This silly girl…

 

I smiled again…

 

I went back to sleep with my smile on……

 

It was a simple and peaceful night…...
