Prompt: One-Sided Myungyeol.
Description: A thing of the past.
Myungsoo's feelings for Sungyeol are acid for himself (not really acid, but in a sense that it eats him up inside). He's gay and his friend isn't. Dongwoo and Hoya have already told him to stop obsessing over Sungyeol and try to move on because straight boy crushes aren't worth it. And why would you want to break apart such an important relationship anyways, right?
Myungsoo needs a plan, a plan to make himself move on from Sungyeol because it just isn't healthy. So his next course of action is turning to Hoya and Dongwoo for help. Dongwoo and Hoya first suggested him into not hanging out with him so much and instead with others. Basically avoiding him, but not avoiding him.
The first time he sees Sungyeol after his meeting with Dongwoo and Hoya, he told Sungyeol that he can't walk home with him today because he has to stay at school for tutoring because he's failing a subject. For Myungsoo to fail a subject, that's something that Sungyeol has never heard of considering he's ranked number one in the class. Sungyeol obviously knew that was a lie because he has known Myungsoo since forever and he knows Myungsoo's a bad liar.
Myungsoo starts by trying to get over him, with what Dongwoo and Hoya has suggested, avoid him, but at the same not avoiding him too much. His plan consists of hiding out in the library and working on homework until...uhh the library closes? For the first week, this is basically all he does.
The weekend approaches and Sungyeol asks him to hangout. Myungsoo once again comes out with a crap excuse and says he has a project to do. Sungyeol obviously knows that he doesn't have a project to do because as cliche as it may sound, they're all in the same class (Dongwoo, Hoya, Myungsoo and Sungyeol). He basically stays home the whole day because what if, just what if he bumps into Sungyeol while he's on his goal-less endeavors?
A new week starts and Myungsoo is back to playing "Lets see how long I can hide from Sungyeol before he suspects anything" game. Myungsoo starts to pay attention in class more and stops goofing off with Sungyeol less as he normally does because he's somewhere along the lines of a genius at everything. Somewhere along the week, Sungyeol becomes curious and well...follows Myungsoo after school. He ends up at the library again, but nowadays, Myungsoo basically sleeps in the library until it's closing and since he doesn't mess around in class as much with Sungyeol anymore, he gets his work done, so in the end this is better for him in a way (at the same time it kills him on the inside because Sungyeol is suppose to be his best friend, but because he developed feelings for his best friend he has to well...sort of distance himself just for the better of everyone's sake).
Each day, instead of going home, Sungyeol follows Myungsoo to the library and waits with him, but Sungyeol sort of hides in the back room since the librarian doesn't mind (mainly because he's friends with Myungsoo, because Myungsoo has a good reputation around the school with the teachers and faculty members).
It's that time of the year, when school's about to end, except for the four, it's their last year which means, it's graduation. Sungyeol still hasn't questioned Myungsoo, more like he never really got the chance to question him at all because well, how do you exactly question someone that doesn't hang out with you anymore or talk to you as much, someone distant from you?
On Saturday, Sungyeol calls Hoya and Dongwoo to meet him at restaurant because he has some questions. Hoya and Dongwoo has probably figured out what he plans on asking, but they don't know how they're going to respond.
"So, what are we going to say when he you know...shoots us his questions?" Dongwoo inquires
"I don't know at all. Myungsoo never said anything, but..."
"We can make something up."
“But will he believe it?" Hoya answers and at this point he doesn't know what exactly he'll do, maybe wing it as it comes or does he just go along with what Dongwoo said and make something up.
Hoya and Dongwoo arrive at the restaurant, they scout around and don't see Sungyeol in sight, probably late or something like he normally is. A few seconds later, they see Sungyeol running in with his hair wet and sticking out all over the place. He mutters something along the lines of "Sorry I overslept." or something and Hoya and Dongwoo don't question it, proceeding to get a booth for their party of three.
“So what's up with Myungsoo Lately?" Sungyeol asks with a confused expression on his face.
Hoya doesn't know how to answer, neither does Dongwoo. A minute passes by, an awkward minute.
“Uhh...Myungsoo...has...uhh...things going on, you know like a phase in your life." Hoya responds in hopes of concealing the actual reason Myungsoo is going through all this.
"You know you like a mid-high school life crisis right now." Dongwoo adds.
"Sure." Sungyeol concludes.

It's time for the actual graduation. Everyone is standing there patiently and waiting to called so they can receive their diploma and leave this hell- they call school, because school is terrible.
"Myungsoo!" The person announces, everyone cheers and claps and screams and shouts.
"Sungyeol!" The person announces, everyone claps and shouts and screams and cheers.
"Dongwoo!" The person announces, everyone shouts and screams and cheers and claps.
"Hoya!" The person announces, finally everyone shouts, and claps and cheers and screams.
After the commencement event, they all make their way home. Their parents have prepared them a little gift, a graduation trip to Australia. So as soon as they got home, they changed out of their graduation gowns and into comfy traveling clothes and off to the airport they went.
Myungsoo had a little alteration in his course of travel, yes he was traveling with his friends to Australia, but whether he be returning back to Korea or not, that was a whole different story. He told his mother that he wanted to leave Korea and study abroad for university. Myungsoo passed it off as how life in the same place gets stale after some time and he would like to experience independent living and a change in scenery.

They arrive in Australia, and it's 4AM in the morning. Everyone is tired as hecking hell so they decide just to rest in the hotel room. They're actually suppose to meet up with Myungsoo's brother, Kim Sunggyu and his boyfriend Nam Woohyun. But then they think for a little and conclude that it's ing early in the morning and why would Sunggyu and Woohyun even be awake to greet them, they're probably fast asleep in their dorm room.
Fast-forwarding to many hours later, when it's not an ungodly hour in the middle of the night. Myungsoo wakes up when his phone starts vibrating. He rubs his eyes and proceeds to reading the message. He see it's from Sunggyu and something along the lines of "where are you staying". He thinks for a while and replies sending him his location and continues to lay in bed awaiting his brother's arrival. Myungsoo looks around the room and sees that everyone else is fast asleep and thinks to himself that he would be as well if it wasn't for his brother that sent him a text which woke up him up (it's their first day there and they're super jetlagged).
About 30 minutes later, Sunggyu arrives with Woohyun and he's knocking on their hotel door. Myungsoo is still the only one awake (he wanted to go back to sleep, but he didn't because he sort of knew he had to wait for Sunggyu arrive) and he opened the door, greeting Sunggyu and Woohyun with his bed head hair and weird clothing. He smiles and hugs both of them, expressing how much he misses him and how he hasn't seen them in such a long period of time. Sunggyu and Woohyun are equally as happy to seeing Myungsoo once again.
They talk and catch up in the meantime while waiting for the rest of the group to awaken from their jet-lagged deep slumber.
"How have you been?" Sunggyu asks Myungsoo.
"Better?"
"Mom told me about how you're...you know, leaving to Europe after this." Sunggyu whispered the last part in case any of the others were awake. As well as trying to figure out his real intentions, but no he wasn't going to say that.
Sunggyu knew his brother better than that, he knew that his brother had another motive for wanting to leave Korea.
Yeah, I'm actually trying to get over someone...you know. Like they're my best friend, but I can't exactly date them. Maybe Europe will help me move on and find someone new." Myungsoo answers very well knowing that this is what his brother wanted to figure out.
Sunggyu gets up and hugs Myungsoo because he knows before coming to Australia and meeting Woohyun, a Korean-Australian, that straight boy crushes are just terribly painful. The mood becomes a little bit sullen, where they are eventually enveloped by a comfortable silence.
The others wake up from their slumber, and Hoya sees Sunggyu first thing and smiles waving frantically at the elder. Sunggyu returns the smile and Dongwoo is still half asleep, in an almost dazed like state and Sungyeol is already getting ready because he needs his daily dose of coffee. On his way out, Sungyeol stops and has n confused expression his face as to who the two people in the room are.
"Sungyeol, this is Sunggyu, and his boyfriend Woohyun. We'll have formal introductions later, maybe." Myungsoo answers and Sungyeol continues his journey for his coffee.

Their days on vacation pass by in a flash. On their first day, they tour the city and then eat at a fancy restaurant for dinner. Then the following days, they do other touristy things and take lots of pictures (especially Myungsoo).
On their last day, Sunggyu invites them to a party, his friend was hosting. The party is on the beach, it'ss basically a bonfire. There are people from all over, it's a good mix. They're all partying and some drunk off their . Myungsoo just sort of sits isolated from the whole party and stares off into space and what not. Sungyeol is worried for his friend or best friend because it's their last day here and he's not exactly enjoying himself.
"What's wrong?" Sungyeol asks, worried for his best friend.
"Got a lot on my mind lately, going through some rough times." Myungsoo replies with a half, semi-crooked smile. One you would normally give when you're trying to reassure the other person that nothing is wrong and you'll be able to get through this alone.
"Liar." Sungyeol replies with a smile on his face before taking a gulp from his red party cup.
"You really want to know?"
Yes, so tell me."
"I like you." Myungsoo says.
"What?" Sungyeol asks, shocked at hearing this confession from his best friend.
"I said I like you." Myungsoo replies and just stares at Sungyeol's face with that same smile once again.
"Umm...Myung, I-I'm sor-"
It's okay, I knew you didn't reciprocate my feelings anyways. I just wanted to get it out for my own sake. For closure." Myungsoo interrupts Sungyeol, saving the embarrassment for the two.
"It's just I've never looked at you that way before, you're more like a brother to me."
"It's okay, I'll be alright. I won't die of a broken heart."
"I still hope we can be friends, I really like you, er...not in that sense, but you get what I mean."
"Sure." Myungsoo replies, feeling much more relieved and relaxed that he has gotten the confession out even though he knew that he was going to be rejected anyway.

That night, back at the hotel, everyone is packing their bags, getting ready to fly back to Korea, and in Myungsoo's case, secretly to Europe. This marks the finish of one thing as well as the beginning of another.
The clock displays '4AM' in big red letters and numbers, marking the time they have to awaken at this ungodly hour and drive to the airport to check-in and catch their flight. Sunggyu and Woohyun arrive at their hotel and start loading the luggage into the bus and help the others get ready like checking the room to see if they're forgetting anything.
After a period of 30 minutes of driving to the airport, they finally arrive. They're all trying to check-in along with the other people boarding the same flight. Sunggyu tells Myungsoo that he's going to see Hoya, Dongwoo and Sungyeol off and tell them that Myungsoo will meet them at the gate, but they should go in first. Myungsoo replies with a nod and continues to wait in line while Sunggyu and Woohyun just sit quietly in the visitors area.
A few hours later, it's time for Hoya, Dongwoo and Sungyeol's flight. They are wondering where Myungsoo is because he's suppose to come back with us right?
"Where's Myungsoo?" Sungyeol asks.
"He's in the bathroom, told me to tell you guys that he'll meet you in the area before you enter the terminal." Sunggyu replies, somewhat feeling bad, but at the same time it is for their good that they don't know Myungsoo in't going to return with them. Myungsoo needs this, is what goes through his head when he responds.
Dongwoo, Hoya and Sungyeol arrive at pre-terminal area and are occupying themselves with whatever they're doing on their phones, waiting for Myungsoo. Sunggyu and Woohyun then went to Myungsoo because his plane leaves earlier than the other three's.
"I'm going to miss you so much." Sunggyu starts tearing up because he hasn't seen his brother in so long.
"Don't cry...Sunggyu, Y-You c-c-an always come and visit me in England." Myungsoo replies, failing miserably trying not to cry.
"Just try hard to forget about Sungyeol, and you'll find someone else in the future, so you don't need to worry. Just like how I found Woohyun." Sunggyu assures Myungsoo, before Myungsoo has to leave because his plane is about to board.
Sunggyu and Woohyun walk back to where Dongwoo, Hoya and Sungyeol are sitting.
“Umm, Myungsoo can't make it back with you guys...because,"
"Because they double booked, and the plane is full so Myungsoo has to wait until the next one." Woohyun finishes for Sunggyu because as it looks, his boyfriend is about to break and reveal what Myungsoo is doing and where he is going if he continued to speak.
Hoya, Dongwoo and Sungyeol enter the gate to the terminal and board the plane. Sunggyu and Woohyun drive back to their dorm room in the university and this is the start of a new chapter in everyone lives.

Myungsoo arrives in England, specifically London. He's waiting to get off the plane and it's taking forever because when the plane lands, everyone is in a hurry to get their carry-on(s) from the overhead bin including Myungsoo. They've all been stuck on a metal tube for the last who knows how many hours and just can't wait until they get off.
Myungsoo is trying to reach for his laptop bag, but it has been shoved all the way to the back because you know, you have to share a overhead bin. Another hand reaches in a grabs his laptop bag and hands it to him along with flashing him a smile. Myungsoo stands there dazed for a little bit because he's the cutest boy he's ever seen and his hair is dyed blonde as well. It was just a major turn on for Myungsoo. Everything about the boy. Myungsoo started to feel uncomfortable down there because this boy was perfection in his eyes.

He arrives at the university dorm earlier than his flatmate, speaking of flatmate, half of Myungsoo was curious who his flatmate was going to be, and another half was wondering why he didn't opt for a single dorm instead.
The door opens, and he sees a flash of blonde. Myungsoo is immediately flustered because itt's the same guy from the airplane and , he's already got a hard on again. The blonde sees Myungsoo sitting on the bed, with a pillow in his lap and flashes a smile at him, once again. Myungsoo is once again stuck in a daze because mister perfection was standing right in from of him and was going to be his flatmate.
"Hello, my name is Ljoe." The blonde one introduces himself.
"Myungsoo."
"Nice to meet you Myungsoo." Ljoe replies, which immediately causes Myungsoo to blush because the way he said his name was basically what Myungsoo thought was the best thing in the world.
"Aish, I really hate you." Myungsoo mutters in Korean along with a frown because all he had to do was be in his presence and Myungsoo would get all why and have blood rushing down south.
"Wae. Why do you hate me?" Ljoe respondd in Korean which shocked Myungsoo.
"You're Korean?"
"No, only my parents are." Ljoe responds sarcastically in Korean with a teasing tone. "I have a feeling we're going to become great friends, or even more." he continued in a sing-song tone.
"Why?" Myungsoo asks dumbfounded.
"I'm pretty sure you're gay for me, and judging from what happened in the plane from your hard on and constant stare." Ljoe states in a cocky tone.
“This is so embarrassing." Myungsoo shouts to no one in particular and plants his face into his pillow because this guy who he just met and basically fell for can read him like an open book.
"It's okay, because I'm gay too and I'm sure we're going to have a wonderful year." Ljoe once again speaks.
"And also call me by my real name instead, Byunghun, I introduce myself as Ljoe because most people can't pronounce my actual name."
"Byunghun." Myungsoo says.
"Byunghun. I like that." Myungsoo says again with a smile, also causing Byunghun to smile as well.
Myungsoo knows this is going to be a good year coming. And that one-sided love which caused him to make this spontaneous decision to move to Europe, which then led him to meeting Byunghun was the best decision he has made in his life so far.
"Byunghun." Myungsoo says once again.
