Couple: MyungYeol

Prompt: AU! Myungsoo really like kittens, so Sungyeol gets him one for their one year anniversary. Super fluffy please, bonus points if Sungyeol starts to get jealous that Myungsoo is cuddling with the kitten more than him!

It was a bright and sunny afternoon when Sungyeol and Myungsoo thought it’d be perfect to go out on a stroll. It had been a while since they last went out with just the two of them. Their schedules had been hectic, but they were finally able to get a day off at the same time.

Donning caps and sunglasses, they headed out from their dorms. They went to a breakfast diner to grab something quick to eat before heading to the mall. Once inside, they explored the different stores inside. When it was nearing six in the evening, that was when Myungsoo saw it. With the colorful sign sitting proudly in a corner, there stood a petshop.

After spending a few minutes of convincing Sungyeol, Myungsoo dragged his boyfriend inside. Once inside, Myungsoo ran off, leaving Sungyeol standing rather awkwardly by the entrance. Sungyeol puffed out his cheeks as he went to find where his boyfriend ran off to.

Myungsoo stared at the kitten in the cage. He cheekily grinned as he softly meowed to it. The kitten pawed the cage and meowed back. He let out a little giggle as he reached out a finger and played with the kitten’s paw.

“Myungie, what are you doing?” Sungyeol asked as he tapped the other on his shoulder.

“Isn’t it cute?” Myungsoo cooed as he tapped the nose of the kitten, startling it for a second before it started to meow again. Sungyeol wrinkled his nose at his boyfriend’s oddness. But, Myungsoo did look rather endearing while playing with the kitten. However, noticing the time, he realized that they needed to leave at that moment.

“Myungie, we have to leave,” Sungyeol said as he grabbed Myungsoo’s arm and pulled him away from the kitten. Myungsoo frowned as he stared at the kitten, wanting to return to it and continue playing with it. “Stop staring back at it. I know you are.”

“I am not!” Myungsoo protested as he shook his head. Sungyeol rolled his eyes, turning around to see Myungsoo still looking at the shop they had just walked out from.

“Let’s hurry up before Sunggyu skins us alive,” Sungyeol said. Sunggyu was the landlord of the house they were renting rooms from. Being two broke idiots just starting out in the workforce, they had rented rooms from an overly generous Sunggyu. Three years later, they were still living with Sunggyu. It had also been because of Sunggyu that they had began to date.

“He wouldn’t do that. He’s too nice,” Myungsoo mumbled as he reluctantly tore his gaze away from the shop. Sungyeol rolled his eyes once again at his boyfriend. Myungsoo puffed out his cheeks as he quickened his pace. Sungyeol frowned as he forced his legs to move faster to catch up with the other.

The rest of the day passed quickly. Myungsoo was intent on ignoring both Sungyeol and Sunggyu. He blamed the two of them for ruining his quality time with the kitten.

“What’s got him all upset?” Sunggyu asked as he crossed his arms and frowned. He had grown sick and tired of Myungsoo’s crappy attitude. “I mean, why does it seem like he’s acting like a little brat who got his favorite toy taken away?”

“He’s throwing a tantrum because you called and said we had to get back here as soon as possible,” Sungyeol sighed, also having grown tired of Myungsoo’s crabbiness. Sunggyu sighed once again before nudging Sungyeol's arm.

"Go do something about it," Sunggyu demanded as he started pushing Sungyeol towards Myungsoo. With a roll of his eyes, Sungyeol sauntered over to where his boyfriend was silently sulking.

“Hey,” Sungyeol called out as he nudged Myungsoo’s leg with his foot.

“I’m still not talking to you,” Myungsoo huffed as he turned away with a pout on his face. Sungyeol rolled his eyes as he grabbed Myungsoo’s arm and pulled him to the kitchen.

“Are you still mad about the cat?” Sungyeol asked as he narrowed his eyes at the other. Myungsoo stayed silent as he tried to ignore the latter. Sungyeol sighed as he covered his face with his hands. “Why are you being so damn difficult?”

“I am not!” Myungsoo gasped, looking quite scandalized as he suddenly turned and glared at his boyfriend.

“You are too!”

“Am not!”

“Are too!”

“Am not!”

“Are too!”

“WOULD BOTH OF YOU SHUT THE HELL UP?!”

Both Sungyeol and Myungsoo whipped their heads in the direction of where the voice came from. They knew it was Sunggyu, but they couldn’t see the landlord anywhere. The voice was soon forgotten when Sungyeol suddenly remembered something.

“Hey, you have no right to be angry at me about the kitten! In fact, I should be the one who’s angry!” Sungyeol raised his voice as he crossed his arms. Myungsoo raised an eyebrow, silently telling the other to continue. “When you were being hit on by that one lady in the club once, don’t you think you looked a little too happy? Huh?”

“The club?” Myungsoo asked as he furrowed his eyebrows, trying to remember when he had last gone.

“You looked as if you actually enjoyed talking with her! You looked happier with her than you ever did with me!” Sungyeol screamed as he suddenly smacked Myungsoo’s shoulder.

“Yah!” Myungsoo managed to sputter out. He finally remembered when he had last gone, and what his boyfriend was talking about, but he honestly believed that Sungyeol had no reason to hit him.

“Is she that pretty and y that you had to smile at her? Huh? Well, you know what? You can just go and be with her for the rest of your life!” Sungyeol screamed as he smacked Myungsoo again.

“What?”

“You heard me! Go away! I’m sick of seeing your face!” Sungyeol screamed as he shoved Myungsoo away from him before running off to his room.

“What the hell?” Myungsoo mumbled as he scratched the back of his head, still trying to process what just happened. He shuffled over to Sungyeol’s room and knocked on the door. He received no answer. Rolling his eyes, he opened the door and walked in, only to have a pillow hit him in the face. “Yah! What the hell?”

“I hate you!” Sungyeol screamed as he hit Myungsoo again with his pillow. Myungsoo sighed as he snatched the pillow out of Sungyeol’s hands. He threw it to the ground and tackled Sungyeol down onto the bed.

“Listen to me,” Myungsoo hissed as he pinned Sungyeol’s wrists to the bed.

“No! Go away!” Sungyeol screamed as he thrashed around, trying to get away. Myungsoo rolled his eyes before leaning in and kissing the other. Sungyeol’s eyes widened as he stopped moving. Myungsoo pulled away once he knew the kiss did its job. He sighed as he pressed their foreheads together.

“Listen, Yeollie, I didn’t like that woman who tried to flirt with me. Why would I like her when I spent two years chasing after you?” Myungsoo whispered. Sungyeol puffed out his cheeks as he attempted to glare at the other.

“I’m suspicious,” Sungyeol mumbled as he wiggled around.

“I have no reason to cheat on you,” Myungsoo said. “Don’t even start listing your imperfections. Those are what made me fall helplessly in love with you.”

Sungyeol immediately closed his mouth, refraining from listing what made him not likeable.

“How about we sleep for now? It’s late, and we still have to try to go to work on time tomorrow morning,” Myungsoo said as he pecked Sungyeol’s cheek.

“How about we do a little something else? You know, something to help us sleep better?” Sungyeol asked with a cheeky grin on his face. Myungsoo chuckled as he kissed Sungyeol again.

“Your wish is my command,” Myungsoo said.

“Good god, I could hear the two of you all night!” Sunggyu whined the moment Sungyeol came limping into the kitchen. Sungyeol flashed a grin in Sunggyu’s direction before hobbling to the fridge. Sunggyu merely rolled his eyes before massaging the sides of his head. “Next time, be quiet. I don’t care if someone has to be gagged, but for the love of all things pure and innocent, stop making so much noise at night!”

“Can’t help it,” Sungyeol shrugged as he chugged down the contents of a water bottle. “Oh, don’t tell Myungie that I have another day off of work. Just tell him I left early.”

Sunggyu nodded his head as he shot Sungyeol a suspicious glare. Sungyeol grinned as he limped back to his room. Moments later, he was at the door with his car keys in hand. Just as the front door slammed close, Myungsoo came stumbling into the kitchen.

“Have you seen Sungyeol?” Myungsoo asked as he attempted to stifle a yawn.

“He just left,” Sunggyu said with a shrug. Myungsoo frowned but said nothing. He grabbed a slice of bread and a container of nutella. “That’s not a healthy breakfast.”

“Don’t care,” Myungsoo mumbled as he slapped a large amount of the chocolaty goodness onto the bread and running off.

“Kids these days,” Sunggyu grumbled as he stood from his seat and cleaned up after the younger. He jumped a little when the slamming of a door was heard. Myungsoo quickly ran past the kitchen. Sunggyu stuck his head out of the kitchen only to jump again when he heard the front door slam close. “Aish, these kids,” he mumbled as he scratched the back of his head. “I don’t know why they’re always in such a big rush.”

Sunggyu shook his head as he went back to lounging around in the kitchen.

Sungyeol ran through the mall, trying to find a specific store. Once he found it, a wide grin spread across his face. He ran inside, going directly to where he remembered the kitten being. He stared at it for a few seconds before mentally confirming that that kitten was in fact, the one Myungsoo wanted.

He went to the counter and asked for the worker to grab the kitten. Once the kitten was put into a portable cage, Sungyeol paid for it along with its necessities. Having a smile still plastered onto his face, he strolled through the mall, looking for something else he could get for his boyfriend.

After entering a few different shops and purchasing a few more items, he finally deemed himself ready to go back home. He dumped the things in his car before driving off.

When he arrived at home, Sunggyu was, thankfully, out of the house. He grinned as he began to clean up the pathway to his room. He pulled out his phone and sent Sunggyu a message, telling him not to be home that night. He set the cage in the middle of his room along with the kitten’s necessities.

He closed the curtains and placed candles around the room. He went to the bathroom and drew a hot steaming bath, knowing that by the time Myungsoo arrived home from work, the water would be the perfect temperature. He then went to the kitchen. He pulled out the frozen food he had bought a few days prior.

He the stove and dumped the frozen food into a pot. He hummed a merry little tune to himself as he prepared dinner. Once everything was heated up and ready, he set the table, not forgetting to place a candle in the middle of the table. He squealed lightly as he ran to his room. He grabbed his post-it notes and began scribbling directions on them. He created a trail of colorful notes and little lit candles leading to his bedroom.

Once he finished with all the preparations for Myungsoo’s arrival, he sat down on his bed, staying as quiet as he could. He had shut off the lights in the house. The only light in the house were the candles. He giggled to himself as he tried to picture Myungsoo’s face when he arrived home. However, his eyelids soon grew heavy as the time slowly ticked away. In a few minutes, he had fallen asleep.

Myungsoo was ready to hit someone or something. His boss had suddenly decided to make him do some overtime. He was home an hour later than he usually would’ve been. He threw open the door and was about to turn on the lights until he saw the candles. Frowning, he quickly closed the door and picked up the first note. He struggled to read the messy handwriting. Once he figured out what the note was trying to tell him, he followed the colorful paper and candles.

He smiled once he reached Sungyeol’s room. He opened the door and gasped at what he saw. In the middle of the room was the kitten he had wanted from a few days ago. He silently squealed as he ran to the cage and opened it. His smile grew wider as the kitten his face.

The kitten softly mewed as it nudged Myungsoo’s chin. That was when he noticed someone lying on the bed. The dim lighting from the candles forced him to squint his eyes and go closer to the person. He sighed in relief when he noticed that it was just Sungyeol.

“Hey,” Myungsoo called out as he reached out and shook Sungyeol. He wasn't surprised when Sungyeol's eyes fluttered open. Sungyeol stared at him for a few seconds.

"You're back early," Sungyeol said with a yawn. Myungsoo chuckled as he ruffled Sungyeol's hair.

"Early? Babe, you should really check the time."

Sungyeol yawned as he pulled his phone out of his pocket. His eyes widened the moment he saw how late it was. He sprang out of bed and bolted to the bathroom. Myungsoo frowned and furrowed his eyes as he followed his boyfriend, only to hear a pathetic wail. He rushed inside with the kitten still in his arms. Once he saw what his boyfriend was crying over, he rolled his eyes. He knew Sungyeol made a fuss over the dumbest things alive.

“The water’s all cold now!” Sungyeol cried, covering his face with his hands. Myungsoo his heels and left Sungyeol crying in the bathroom. He went to the kitchen, but he froze at the entrance. His eyes widened at the amount of food on the table. He didn’t ever expect to eat something Sungyeol cooked. He went to the table where the candle was near the end of its life. He flipped the switch near the table. His eyes widened even more when he saw the mess on the counters. Pots and pans were strewn everywhere. Dishes piled up high in the sink.

Myungsoo shivered at the sight. Nonetheless, he his heels and returned to the bathroom. Sungyeol was sniffling by the bathtub, splashing the cold water around.

“Hey, sorry about coming home late,” Myungsoo said as he nudged the other with his foot. Sungyeol sniffed and stared at Myungsoo before saying that it was fine. Myungsoo sighed as he reached out and grabbed Sungyeol’s arm. “Come on, let’s go eat the dinner you worked so hard to make.”

Sungyeol sniffed as he nodded his head. Sighing, Myungsoo gave Sungyeol the kitten to hold before rolling up his sleeve and taking the plug out of the bathtub to let the water drain out. After wiping his arm dry, he took the kitten back from Sungyeol. He led the other out of the bathroom and to the kitchen.

“Everything’s all cold. Let me heat it up,” Sungyeol said as he shuffled to the table. He heated everything up and placed them back on the table.

“It’s messy,” Myungsoo commented from where he had sat down at the table. Sungyeol puffed out his cheeks as he set the last plate back onto the table.

“It’s not my fault,” Sungyeol muttered as he crossed his arms.

“What’s the occasion?” Myungsoo asked as he picked up his eating utensils.

“Our one year anniversary. Don’t tell me you forgot,” Sungyeol whined as he poked Myungsoo’s arm.

“How could I ever forget something as important as that?” Myungsoo chuckled as he began to eat. His eyes widened at the taste of the first dish. “Wow, this is amazing,” Myungsoo said as he stuffed more food into his mouth. Sungyeol cheekily grinned as he began eating. He didn’t have the heart to tell his boyfriend that it was all precooked frozen food.

After their meal, they sat in the living room, watching some sappy drama. Myungsoo was barely paying attention to the drama and Sungyeol. He was too busy meowing at the kitten. Sungyeol glared at both the kitten and Myungsoo. He knew he shouldn’t have gotten the kitten. Just as Sungyeol opened his mouth to say something, the front door of the house slammed open. Myungsoo ignored the sound since he was too engrossed in in the adorable little actions of the kitten. Sungyeol, however, turned his head and growled at the person who just walked in.

“Hey, guys, happy anniversary!” Sunggyu shouted as he popped open a wine bottle. Sungyeol grumbled a few curses under his breath as he stood and stormed off to his room. Sunggyu frowned as he scratched the back of his head. “Hey, Myungsoo, what’s his problem?”

“Meow!” Myungsoo cooed at the kitten. Sunggyu stared at Myungsoo and the kitten for a second before heading to the kitchen. He saw the mess inside and stared at it for a second. He shrugged before heading off to Sungyeol’s room. He raised his hand to knock on the door, but screams from inside stopped him.

“That stupid kitten! I knew I shouldn’t have gotten it! It’s a curse! It ruined my anniversary!”

“Well, how lovely,” Sunggyu said with a nod before heading off to his own room. “Well, cheers to myself for being such a great cupid. They’re a match made in heaven, those two weirdos.”

StarlightSpirit: Gyu's closing line was so perfect! Haha! Oh gosh, these idiots and Sungyeol's amazin surprise ruined and the jealousy and Myungsoo talking at the cat (Myungsoo is a cat). This is so fluffy and adorable! <3
