Prompt: Wooyeol
— Woohyun never understood Sungyeol and his stupid red + white stripe ; “Oh please, why would you give miniature planes and aqua-man submarines to a hardcore star wars fan.

Small part with Sunggyu because plot, bro. These two are troublemakers (hahaha) Enjoy!

Woohyun shuffled around in his spot on the bed, just wiggling because it was warmer than the air in his bedroom. Outside, he could hear his best friend who stayed over bicker and whatnot with his partner. Over the stupid things as well, such as television shows, foods, and where to place the fork. Still, he smiled with the warm welcome of his apartment being filled with some friends at least. Not just himself.

He was lucky to have friends that would stay with him for the holidays.

“Oh please,” he heard Sunggyu scoff, how typical of him, “Why would you give miniature planes and aqua-man submarines to a hardcore star wars fan?”

Oh, they’re talking about me?

Sungyeol would most likely scuffle with his feet from Sunggyu’s words, being younger and all, laugh awkwardly and scratch him head. Woohyun could picture it so well he chuckled to himself, “W-well, I thought Woohyun would like that too…”

“You forgot he likes Star Wars, huh?” Sunggyu’s voice was laced with taunt and smirk. He’s been around Myungsoo too much, or Sungjong.

“It’s not my fault!” the taller whined, probably slumping over the counter as Sunggyu sat on the couch, with his morning tea stolen from Woohyun’s cabinet. “He never talks about it, ever since we’ve gotten together and whatever. Saying he’s trying to be considerate, but it’s so hard to find him a present, Hyung!”

“Well, if you hadn’t complained in the first place, that wouldn’t be such a problem right? I mean, he does care after all.”

“Like you can talk, Gyu-hyung,” Sungyeol sneered, his own smirk forming. “Last time, I heard you told Myungsoo needs to wear a shirt in his own office. He always liked to do his own thing, you know?”

“Y-yah!” Sunggyu probably sputtered on his tea. Actually, my tea. “It’s fricken December! He’d get a cold… or something.”

They continued their talk, Sunggyu, being long friends with the man in topic told Sungyeol about a few ideas about gifts while he got ready to finally get out of the room. It was becoming quite stuffy.

Throwing on a jacket, he walked out slowly, knocking on the side of the wall to get both of their attentions.

“Oh, Woohyun!” Sungyeol become flustered and quickly hid the small notepad he was writing notes in behind his back which Woohyun already knew everything. “You’re awake? Are you hungry?”

“Nah,” he called back, hugging the tall guy instead while looking over his shoulder to send a cheesy grin to Sunggyu. Who rolled his eyes and stood up. “Good morning, Yeol.”

“Yeah, good morning” a chirpy voice replied.

Sunggyu put the mug on the counter, grabbing his coat and turned around once the two was done doing their lovey dovey stuff. Sunggyu thought it was seriously time for him to move out and let Woohyun take the flat for himself now. The two were getting too ridiculous for him. “I’m going to work. Try not to destroy any of my possessions, please.”

“Is that an order after you took my tea this morning?” Woohyun cracked a smile when Sunggyu paused in fixing his tie, getting a glare back. Sungyeol draped on his back.

“I ran out,” Sunggyu muttered. “Bye kids.”

“Bye bye!” Sungyeol waved. “Say hi to Myungsoo for me.”

“Do that yourself,” the older sighed, leaving the flat.

Once the door closed, Sungyeol ran back to the couch and threw a blanket on himself, a red and white striped blanket that looked a lot like peppermint to Woohyun.

“How do you even live with him, Hyun?” Sungyeol squirmed around on the couch, all smiley and cute. Woohyun laughed.

“He’s my childhood friend,” sitting beside Sungyeol and itching his chin. “He’s just being insecure again.”

“Why? We were talking just fine before.”

“You brought up Myungsoo.”

“Oh… Wait, he’s touchy about that?”

“He’s put his relationships on low profile,” Woohyun smiled, ruffling Sungyeol’s hair. “Sunggyu is like some sort of stubborn fox that never stops hiding his priorities.”

“Then what am I?”

Woohyun looked down to meet pretty expecting eyes and smiled, “You’re a bundle of happiness from the brightest unicorn.”

“Ew, so …” Sungyeol smacked his arm, yet his face was a little red, “just stop, god.”

The two looked at each other, and laughter filled the air from the both of them. An airy and easy laugh. Woohyun looked down and crashed down into Sungyeol, who yelped and swatted at him. Though he kept at it with short tickle attacks and more laughter.

“Stop, idiot!” Sungyeol gasped, trying to kick him off.

“You stop buying so much white and red stripes! What are you, a candy cane?” Woohyun made a face.

The tickling stopped, and Sungyeol just smiled, “It’s a nice color scheme.”

Sunggyu got to the building with a low spirit and heavy sigh, walking off the bus and toward the entrance. Sungyeol was having troubles getting Woohyun a gift, and being the flat mate and childhood friend of the guy, he turned to Sunggyu for advice; who told him that a submarine or planes won’t cut it.

Woohyun was a full blown Star Wars fan, ever since they went to go see one of the movies back in middle school. The fool would never shut up about Yoda, or whomever. Sunggyu just enjoyed the thing. Though he was more of the modern Sherlock fan.

He told Sungyeol to try and buy limited edition Yoda stuffs that Woohyun could never get his hands on and forgot about. Specifically, the limited edition 3rd season cut model action figure. Or maybe even the fighter planes from Woohyun’s favorite arc. Lego version, the guy was a er for legos. The kid.

Sunggyu sighed, trekking into the elevator with a slight frown. Ever since Sungyeol started to ‘go out’ with Woohyun, the two would never separate, especially during Sunggyu’s precious mornings. He didn’t even know why he was still flat mates with Woohyun, probably just to save money. He was planning to move out soon, looking around for apartments around here and there, close to work.

But the other problem was that Woohyun asked Sunggyu for advice on Sungyeol, because of one person he’s become quite infatuated with but cannot say. He learned, from Myungsoo, that Sungyeol(his childhood friend) loves the color scheme of red and white. Stripes were the best, polka-dots wouldn’t do. It had to be striped, maybe even plaid. Though the candy cane colors would never be not on Sungyeol.

Be it a small ring, earring, hidden bracelet or even the sweater. One time, Sunggyu saw him wear this pair of striped red and white jeans to their flat. He told him to calm down.

The man straightened his suit again, walking down the hall to sit at his desk and work his everyday salary as a secretary for the big man. Or actually, Myungsoo.

“Good morning, Sunggyu-sshi,” A voice from behind him made Sunggyu jump while he was taking his seat. Almost making him slip the chair from under him but he controlled himself.

“Good morning, Myungsoo-sshi,” he replied swiftly, seeing that this morning the other man was indeed wearing a proper shirt. Though still not dressed entirely, actually having a shirt on was good enough progress. “You should wear a jacket; it’s quite cold this morning.”

“You say that every morning,” Myungsoo frowned, making Sunggyu look away. Mumbling a short apology. “It’s not anything bad, I’m glad you’re looking out for your boss.”

“Yes, sir.”

A moment of pause, before Myungsoo shuffled closer to Sunggyu just to lean over his shoulder, “So how’s Sungyeol doing?”

“He’s doing very well,” Sunggyu stiffly got out, his posture frozen in a straight back and weary face. “He and Woohyun are very happy, and he’s always smiling.”

“That’s good,” he heard Myungsoo sigh, the breath tickling his neck and he tried not to flinch away. “How about you?”

“I-I…” Sunggyu tripped over his words, Myungsoo never asked about his day or nights before. He spotted Sungjong, the other guy who works on this floor; walk by with a couple too many envelopes in his arms. Sunggyu quickly stood and walked with large steps over to his coworker. “Sungjong! I c-can help you with that!”

While Sungjong handed a couple to Sunggyu, Myungsoo sighed and put his hands on his hips. Not satisfied with the direction he and his secretary were going. Hoya came around the corner, snickering at him and he almost gave him the bird.

“You’re too strong,” Hoya commented, watching Sunggyu laugh and smile with Sungjong. “Didn’t Woohyun tell you that?”

“He did, the bastard,” Myungsoo seethed, biting at his thumb with frustration. “I don’t understand. Sunggyu got Sungyeol to go with Woohyun so easily. Courting Sunggyu should’ve been a cinch too then.”

“Woohyun and Sungyeol have very compatible personalities,” Hoya chuckled. “You could have made it easier, but you tried to impress him without a shirt last week.”

“I got his attention.” Myungsoo bit back.

“You got his concern,” Hoya clarified.

Sungyeol sighed as he clicked his phone shut. Woohyun didn’t have work today, so they were lounging around the living room watching movies with snuggling. Myungsoo had called him while he was at work, saying things with Sunggyu weren’t working out. He was going to give the phone to Woohyun, you know, to give the damn guy some advice. But Myungsoo was as stubborn as Sunggyu and hanged up on him when he tried to do so.

“Myungsoo?” Woohyun inquired, seeing that Sungyeol only sighed when it came to that one friend.

“Yeah,” he was wearing that red and white striped sweater. Wishing that the two stubborn idiots would be as easy as the two colors together. “He’s trying to court your flat mate still, doing it in all the weird ways possible instead of asking for your help.”

“Sounds like him,” Woohyun chuckled, and Sungyeol really liked listening to it from his spot on the couch. “I wonder what attracted him to Sunggyu in the first place. The guy is practically all about that system check.”

“Oh don’t say that about Gyu-hyung,” Sungyeol nudged his side, smiling. “Gyu-hyung is very cute. Always in that suit with full cheeks and he puffs them when angry.”

Woohyun pouted, “But am I not cuter than him?”

“I dunno,” Sungyeol played with him, looking away with a smirk. “Sunggyu always gives me good advice, while you just make jokes.”

“Oh, don’t be like that, Yeol,” the Raven rubbed against his side like a puppy. “Am I not enough?”

“Pish-posh,” the other laughed. “You’re an idiot.”

“Yah!”

“My idiot.”

They laughed again, Sungyeol later asking Woohyun to pass him one of the candy canes on the table. Earning an eye roll and a willing Woohyun who got the candy and broke half to share with the other. Which Sungyeol whined and said he could’ve just gotten another one. The two mock bickered, which ended up in more laughing.

“We should do something with Gyu-hyung and Myungsoo,” Sungyeol had the candy in his mouth, giving the sweet and a little mint flavor of peppermint on his tongue. “Them two are seriously too stupid.”

“Could say the same about ourselves,” Woohyun got a look from the other before continuing, “but we’re sly idiots.”

“Sly idiots,” Sungyeol repeated, snickering at the title. The initial mint always fading into a sticky aftertaste. “But we should really do something. Sunggyu hyung does so much for us. I know you asked him for help on my present.”

“Yeah, and you did too.” Them both already knowing what to expect, but Woohyun grew a wicked smirk on his face, wiggling his eyebrow toward Sungyeol who just lifted his own. “But what if we did…”

Whispering whatnot into Sungyeol’s ears, it took a full two minutes of explanation from the Raven until the taller piped up and a wide grin and a little open mouth showed his impressed state.

“Holy crap, that genius!” Sungyeol beamed. “I wouldn’t even see that coming!”

“Neither would Sunggyu,” Woohyun waved his hand in front of his face, pretty proud of himself and mind. “But aren’t I just a mastermind?”

“Oh shut up.”

*

A couple days later, Woohyun woke up early and Sungyeol came over as well, tip toeing around the flat so they wouldn’t wake the older fox that still lay in slumber just in the other room. Sungyeol only saw his room about twice, just to go in there and wake him up for breakfast in some mornings.

Woohyun crept in there and turned off the alarm clock, snickering and quickly leaving scuttling around with their time running out of sand to funnel. Sungyeol fiddled with Sunggyu’s closet, taking the already pre-organized suit for the day and putting just the pants there instead. Then placing the blazer on his drawers, but taking the one tie Sunggyu owned away. (A gift from Dongwoo.) It was a plain black tie, too boring for Sungyeol. He stuffed it in his back pocket before taking out another tie.

A white and red striped tie.

And placed it onto the corner of the bed while Woohyun made sure the entire room was over thrown. Sunggyu shifted and mumbled here and there, but never actually woke up completely. Probably too tired. But it still put Sungyeol and Woohyun to a complete halt every time with fear he would wake.

But Woohyun went back to the pants and shoved about twenty little hard candied into the pocket, and the two high tailed out of there. Closing the door with not even a little huff. Scurrying back to Woohyun’s room before snickering more and just waiting for Sunggyu to realize he was late to work.

Which he never was. Until now.

The two mocked sleep in the bed, lying down and closing their eyes but had big smiles on their faces.

Ten minutes later, Sunggyu was supposed to wake up. Usually he wouldn’t even need the alarm clock to wake him up. He had an internal clock but Sunggyu worked long hours yesterday to help out Myungsoo. His friend should be damn grateful. And now fatigue ran the poor guy’s body and couldn’t wake up, perfect for Woohyun and Sungyeol’s plan.

An hour passed, and finally the lazy hyung woke up. First it was just a little shuffle, the two could hear, and then a series of cries and rather high yells mixed with concern and fear. Saying things like ‘Holy , it’s ing eight?!’ and ‘What the hell is this?!’

Sunggyu hyung had a lashing tongue when he wakes up, or utterly pissed.

Woohyun and Sungyeol had to cover their mouths for the laughter would erupt from them any second hearing Sunggyu curse and scamper to get his suit on while brushing his teeth. Out of all this, the guy still worries about his dental care.

Then they heard, “What the—what kind of tie… Lee Sungyeol!”

Sungyeol tried to muffle the sudden laugh, but it came out of his lips together to make a “pfft” sound, Woohyun following suit with a full blow laugh from the reaction to Sungyeol, and they started balling after that at Sunggyu.

The fox narrowed his eyes at the closed door, seething and breathing fire, kicking down the door that wasn’t even locked as yelled at the two, “Yah! ing get your asses out of bed now before I whip them into a goddamn tomato with a shoe!”

The two slowly got up just to get on Sunggyu’s nerves and kept on blowing air between their lips in attempts to stop their laughter, which failed miserably. They then hopped into Woohyun’s car and drove down to Sunggyu’s work place, also hitting morning traffic along the way.

In the end, Sunggyu was about half an hour late.

The poor guy was mumbling the entire ride, then in the elevator and didn’t even glare at the other two kids behind him anymore. Only worried about his job. Woohyun and Sungyeol only felt a bit guilty, but not entirely because Sunggyu failed to look at what the stupid date was today.

Gyu-hyung is the real idiot, they thought together.

Sungyeol gave Woohyun another look, only to get a reassuring smile and nodded toward him. Hopefully Myungsoo remembered the second part of the plan. But if he didn’t, that’s why they were still sticking around. Sunggyu was too dense to notice. He was still fiddling with his hair, cursing at himself for not brushing it and going through the black briefcase in case he forgot something, which he did.

Woohyun kept on trying to cover his laughter but Sunggyu didn’t pay any mind as the doors ‘dinged’ and he went out before Sungyeol could even question Woohyun.

“I feel a little bad,” Sungyeol admitted. “I mean, Sunggyu-hyung didn’t need an entire heart stopper for a little realization.”

“Oh but he does, Yeol,” Woohyun nodded. “Myungsoo is obviously not going to confess any time soon, it’s a power pride thing and Sunggyu is too insecure to do it himself unless he’s pushed to do so.”

“Is this just to get back at him for what he did to you?” Sungyeol scoffed, hugging the other into a side embrace as they walked to the main stage, Myungsoo’s office.

“Maybe,” Woohyun rolled his eyes at the memory. Sunggyu had tricked him that Sungyeol had hurt himself, when he was really sleeping, and Woohyun confessed thinking Sungyeol wouldn’t even open his eyes again. Which he did with a blaring red face. Sunggyu was smirking at the two for many weeks until he let Woohyun go from teasing.

They entered the room, where they were met with Sunggyu continuously bowing to Myungsoo, who had just opened his office door.

“I’m forever sorry, Myungsoo-sshi. Nothing can be excused from my lateness today, I’m very sorry!” Sunggyu kept his head down, while Myungsoo looked like he just awoke from a nap.

Scratching his head and tiredly trying to open his eyes, he saw Woohyun and Sungyeol in the back and he smirked. Tilting Sunggyu’s head up with a smile, “Sunggyu-sshi, do you even know what today is?”

“Huh?”

Myungsoo sighed, straightening Sunggyu so he can look at him properly. Sungyeol thought that smile was much brighter than before, he wasn’t going to let that one go from him. “It’s Christmas, dummy.”

“W-what?”

Sunggyu just stood there as if Myungsoo had just said some sort of hymn and then started to berate himself by hitting his own head with cute fists. Sungyeol took a picture while he wasn’t right in the mind to hit him for it. Myungsoo stopped Sunggyu before he did any more harm and hugged him, looking over at them and mouthing ‘thank you’.

“Our job’s done,” Woohyun sighed, patting the bottom of Sungyeol’s back and the left the two to deal with whatever. “I swear, Sunggyu needed to get laid.”

“Hey, don’t put it that way!” Sungyeol wacked his head, though the smile wasn’t necessarily gone, “They’ll be a pair of cuties.”

“Ugh, and you say I’m cheesy.”

“I’m getting it from you, ultimate nacho face.”

“What’s that mean?”

Sungyeol made a ‘pfft’ sound again and just smiled at Woohyun, “Oh, I don’t know!” the sing song voice was back.  He made a dash to the elevator, Woohyun hot on his heels.

“Hey, candy cane!” Woohyun yelled at him, with he laughed continuously which made him smile bigger as well. “What cha get me for Christmas?”

“Never gunna tell you!” Sungyeol yelled back, turning around to stick his tongue out at him and continue the chase. “You called me a candy cane!”

“You look like one!”

“Yah!”

Holidays this year was spent at Woohyun’s flat, Sunggyu let him have that title. He was planning to move away, not yet anyways.

They exchanged gifts, Hoya and Dongwoo making it; as well as Myungsoo and Sungjong. The seven laughed over the extravagant dinner and opened present they didn’t know they’d be receiving.

Sungyeol got a new red and white stripped scarf, to add to the growing collections.

And Woohyun a set of fighter planes, Sungyeol generously putting a small Yoda figure on one of them.

They got other stuffs, but the most memorable was when Dongwoo gave his present to Sunggyu, it was this thin g-string as a joke. Which the eldest spit fire and that flustered face came back around, everyone laughed.

And then Woohyun continued the pranks, putting the mistletoe above Sunggyu while he wasn’t paying attention; Myungsoo was beside him. Oh, what fun they had with him.

But the best is when they went all home, Sungyeol stayed the night with Woohyun. A very warm bed and innocent kisses exchanged. The red and white certainly won’t be going away for any time soon, but then, Woohyun didn’t really mind it. Even as he had no clue why the heck Sungyeol liked the scheme.

It was all good, the smell of apple cinnamon wafted the air, clearing any lingering food scents and the night fell upon them. Cold outside, but Sungyeol felt warmer than ever beside Woohyun.

His trouble making companion.

AN: Quite new to this pairing. I’m sorry for putting Sunggyu in it, but the two are just too playful to go against each other. Haha, They had to prank someone. Yeah, haha. Enjoyed?

StarlightSpirit: Yes, really enjoyed! This was so cute and Wooyeol are serious troublemakers together. Plus it's Wooyeol, my (not so secret) guilty pleasure! Sunggyu and Myungsoo are adorable as well! Waaaah! Great job :)
