Bus
Kai from the SkyI bowed an apology to the customers and the manager who was obviously running out of patience.
"What the heck is up with this weather? So damn cold! Let me go back to where it's warm" Chanyeol slurred in a loud voice, struggling to get out of Kris's grip in an attempt to return to the bar.
"I'm sorry," I bowed to the onlookers on the street, "he's just going through a tough time right now. Sorry."
I gasped when I felt Kris drag me by the arm, Chanyeol's arm in his other hand. We walked side by side to who knows where. From my peripheral vision, I saw Chanyeol lose his balance and almost fall down.
"Let go" I shrugged free from Kris's grip and ran to Chanyeol's aid, propping his arm over my shoulder.
Suddenly, he took me by surprise with his alcohol-laced breath on my cheek. His face was so close to mine in the blink of an eye.
"Yejin-ah" he grinned at me with droopy but smiling eyes.
"Chanyeol-ssi, it's me, Haneul" I told him, averting from his gaze.
"You look really pretty" he said with a hand to my cheek. I felt my blood rush to where his fingers brushed my skin. I bowed down to hide the blush from my cheeks and Kris scoffed.
It would have been better if Chanyeol were realy saying that to me. But no, I know that he means someone else.
"I said it's Haneul," I replied in a flat voice, "it's such a common name. Why can't you get it right?"
"Yejin-ah," he persisted as we walked, "you didn't mean it right? Is it April yet? April Fools?"
"Chanyeol-ssi," I sighed, "I said I'm--" but was cut off by his sudden broken chuckle.
"Of course it's just a joke! Aigoo, Yejin-ah~" he cooed as he ruffled my hair.
"Kris" I called out for help. He motioned for us to just continue walking. We settled down at a nearby bus station bench. I sat beside Chanyeol, whose eyes were almost shutting to a close as he mumbled incoherent words. Kris remained standing in front of us.
"We need to get him to his house" I said.
"Cool. You know where?" Kris snickered.
"Ugh. I don't. No need to be sarcastic" I answered.
"I think we should just--" Kris was cut off by the driver of the bus which had been right behind him.
"Are you getting in?" the driver asked.
"Umm, I think we......." Kris trailed off, astounded by the sudden question before we were even able to make a decision.
"C'mon, kid. There are other passengers waiting," the driver bobbed his head to the side, "are you getting in or not?!"
"Ah, no sir!" I hastily replied because he seemed irritated already, "sorry to keep you waiting."
The door closed and the bus sped off.
"Whew, so embarrasing," I wiped off my imaginary sweat, "so, you were saying? You think we...?"
"I think we should..." Kris blinked, "get on a bus."
