CHAPTER 62

 

 

Jongwoon was staring at the window sadly. He was thinking about the upcoming wedding of the girl he loves and his beloved brother. His tears start forming in his eyes, as he feels the emptiness in his life. He feels so lifeless because he misses his ex-wife and his kids so much. He wants to hold Henry and Sulli on his arms, hug them, play with them, read bed time story and sing a sweet lullaby to them whenever they sleep, and be the best father for them. He keeps on hoping that Ryeowook will have a change of heart and comeback to him, so they can be happy again together with their twins. Jongwoon was thinking so deeply that he didn’t notice Kibum arrive

 

“Hyung”

 

Jongwoon stares at his brother sadly

 

“Please have a seat”

 

Jongwoon told him. Kibum focus his eyes at Jongwoon as he take his seat

 

“Why do you want to see me?”

 

Jongwoon bows his head

 

“I’m asking you Hyung, so please answer me”

 

Jongwoon remains quiet

 

“If you won’t speak, then I guess I shall leave now”

 

Kibum stand, but Jongwoon stops him from leaving. Kibum’s eyes widened as he stare at his brother whose tears are already falling from his eyes. Kibum sigh and go back to his seat

 

“Why do you want to talk to me? We don’t need to talk Hyung”

 

Jongwoon stares at his brother’s eyes sadly

 

“Bummie, please”

 

Kibum just stare at him

 

“I’m begging you, give me back my wife”

 

“She’s no longer your wife, don’t forget that”

 

“I love her and my kids need me so ple—“

 

Jongwoon didn’t had the chance to finish his word because Kibum hit his face

 

“I really want to hit you during the time that I’m talking to you not to leave Wookie, and this is the only time that I can do it”

 

Kibum stares at his older brother full of anger as he clenches his fist

 

“You love her? How can you tell me that you love her? You left her Hyung! You abandon her and your kids, so you don’t have the right to tell me that you love her!”

 

“Bummie, I was wrong…I made a mistake. I was wrong for leaving her”

 

Kibum smirk

 

“I will never give Wookie to you, we’re getting married. If you have time, you can come if you want”

 

Jongwoon hold his brother’s hands and kneel down to beg for him

 

“Hyung please stand up, why are you doing this?”

 

“I’m begging you Bummie. I need Wookie in my life. I need to be the father of Henry and Sulli, so please don’t do this to me”

 

Kibum’s tears start to form in his eyes as he looks at his brother, kneeling in front of him

 

“You left him Hyung, I beg you before, but you never listen to me. Wookie told you that she needs you, but you still left her”

 

Jongwoon bows his head and cry hard

 

“She became a good wife to you, but you never appreciate her. You always take her for granted, especially when you’re fighting. You always make her chase for you and you don’t even care whether you’re hurting her or not. I love her Hyung, and I keep on telling you before that if you leave her, I will really going to steal her away from you and you give me that option”

 

“But Bummie we have kids”

 

“You never see them grow up. Wookie keeps on calling your name during the time that she was about to give birth, but where are you during those time? You’re taking care other woman, while Wookie is suffering alone. It’s hard for her to raise Hnery and Sulli alone, but she remains strong for them. You never see her tears, everytime that Henry and Sulli will cry and ask about you. Be thankful that Wookie is such a good person, because your twins grow up without hating you. She keeps on telling Henry and Sulli that you’re such a nice man and a very loving father. She keeps on telling the twins not to hate you and keeps on reminding them that they need to understand why you left, and how much you love them though they grow up without you by their side”

 

Jongwoon stare at his brother sadly

 

“Bummie, please I love her and I want to watch Henry and Sulli as they grow up. I want to show them how much I love them and fill the empty space that I left. You know how much I love Wookie and I know that I made a big mistake for abandoning them, but I’m regretting it and I’m already paying for those mistakes. I know that I’m stupid for not listening and deciding without even thinking about it, but please help me. I need them and I love them so much”

 

“I’m sorry Hyung, but I won’t give Wookie to you. It’s my turn to take care of her and you need to understand that”

 

Jongwoon shook his head

 

“No”

 

Kibum look at him sadly

 

“I won’t allow you to hurt her again. She’s mine now and no longer yours”

 

Kibum takes a deep breath

 

“I need to go now Jongwoon Hyung. I still need to do a lot of things for the wedding”

 

Kibum left him crying

 

 

 

 

*HAN’S MANOR*

 

 

Ryeowook and Sulli were sitting at the living room while watching Henry happily. He was practicing violin for his upcoming recital

 

“Mama, Henry is really good”

 

“Yes baby”

 

Sulli smile brightly

 

“You need to study piano baby, so you will be good like your brother”

 

Sulli pouts while staring at her mother

 

“I don’t want mama; I’m not interested on playing musical instruments”

 

“Then what do you want to do?”

 

Sulli smiles at her

 

“I want to own a big company like ba ba Hannie and Teukie Umma, or become a famous actress or maybe a superstar someday”

 

Ryeowook just smile at her

 

“Mama, ba ba will return here to visit us, right?”

 

Ryeowook didn’t answer

 

“You’re going to allow him to visit me and Henry, right?”

 

Ryeowook look at her daughter sadly

 

“Do you really want to see your father?”

 

“Henry and I always want to see him”

 

Ryeowook just nod; Biyu walks towards Ryeowook and whisper something to her. Ryeowook’s eyes widened and stare at Sulli who is happily watching her brother playing the violin

 

“Young lady are we going to let him in?”

 

Ryeowook take a deep breath and nod. Biyu bows at her before going out. Ryeowook calls Henry’s attention and told him to stop playing for the meantime. Henry put down his violin on the table and joins them on the sofa

 

“Wei shen me?” (Why?)

 

“You and Sulli have a visitor”

 

Henry and Sulli stare at her blankly. Ryeowook just smile at them

 

“I want both of you to focus your eyes at the door and wait for your visitor to come in”

 

Henry and Sulli follow her. They stare at the door blankly, a tall handsome man came in holding paper bags for his twins. Henry and Sulli smile brightly upon seeing their visitor and run towards him and give him a warm hug

 

“Ba ba”

 

“Ba ba, you come back to visit us again”

 

Jongwoon hand them the paper bags

 

“This is for us?”

 

Jongwoon smile at them and nod

 

“Xie xie ba ba”

 

Jongwoon hugs them tight controlling his tears from falling

 

“Mama, invites you for dinner?”

 

Jongwoon look at Ryeowook, but she turns her eyes away. Sulli run towards her mother

 

“Mama, ba ba will join us for dinner, right?”

 

Ryeowook didn’t answer her; Sulli looks at Henry who runs towards them

 

“Mama, please”

 

Sulli and Henry look at her with teary eyes

 

“Mama, please let ba ba join us for dinner”

 

“Or else Sulli and I will not eat dinner and will never eat forever”

 

Ryeowook pout at her son

 

“Henry, you’re too young to threaten your own mother”

 

Henry frown

 

“But we want ba ba to stay for dinner”

 

“Mama, please”

 

Ryeowook sigh and look at them

 

“Fine you win. Jongwoon will stay here for dinner, but you have to kiss me first”

 

Henry and Sulli kissed her cheek and smile at each other. They run towards Jongwoon and hold his hand

 

“Ba ba, let’s go now”

 

“Ba ba let’s go, dinner is ready. Sulli and I are hungry, we need to eat”

 

Jongwoon smile at them and hold their little hands tight

 

“Arasso”

 

Ryeowook was eating her dinner quietly; Jongwoon was staring at her, but she keeps on avoiding his eyes

 

“Ba ba, are you going to attend mama’s wedding next week?”

 

Jongwoon shook his head

 

“Wei shen me?” (Why?)

 

Sulli asked him sadly

 

“Wo dasuan mingtian hui hanguo” (I’m going back in Korea tomorrow)

 

“Ni neng jinjin tingliu zai zheli ba ba?” (Can you just stay here ba ba?)

 

Jongwoon shook his head

 

“Duibuqi, dan wo buneng” (I’m sorry, but I can’t)

 

Jongwoon stares at his daughter’s sad face. Henry holds his father’s hand

 

“Wo men keyi he ni yiqi qu?” (Can we go with you?)

 

Jongwoon shook his head

 

“Wei shen me? (Why?)

 

Jongwoon look at Ryeowook before answering his kids

 

“You both need to stay with your mother”

 

“Why?”

 

“Because she needs you”

 

Henry and Sulli start crying

 

“But we also need you ba ba. We don’t want you to go”

 

“Ba ba, don’t leave us, don’t go. Just stay here in Beijing with us”

 

Sulli hugs her father while crying; Henry wipes his tears and run towards Ryeowook

 

“Mama, ba ba will not leave, right?”

 

Ryeowook’s tears start forming in her eyes as she feels so sad for her twins, and it hurts her so much to see them crying.

 

“You heard him baby”

 

Henry holds his mother’s hand

 

“Please tell ba ba not to go. We don’t want him to go”

 

“He needs to go”

 

“No! Wo hen ni mama! Wo hen ni”

 

Ryeowook take a deep breath

 

“Han Henry, don’t you dare talk to me like that, do you understand?”

 

Henry shook his head

 

“You go upstairs with your sister”

 

“I don’t want”

 

Ryeowook was controlling her anger towards his son

 

“I’m already losing my temper; go to your room with Sulli now”

 

Henry shook his head and start crying so hard

 

“I don’t want. I want ba ba to stay here. Please mama, don’t let him go. I hate you”

 

Ryeowook fell silent, Henry start throwing tantrums. Ryeowook stand and carry him on her arms

 

“Mama, I hate you”

 

Ryeowook look at him sadly, trying all her best to calm him

 

“Baby, I love you. Please don’t be like this”

 

Henry looks at her, still crying so hard

 

“Please don’t marry Uncle Appa, please be with ba ba again. Sulli and I want you and ba ba to be together again. Can you do that for us mama? Please”

 

“I can’t do that”

 

“Mama please, don’t you love ba ba anymore?”

 

Ryeowook controls her tears from falling and stare at Jongwoon who is trying his best to stop Sulli from crying

 

“Mama, you love ba ba right? So please, be with him and let’s all be happy”

 

Jongwoon stand and carry Sulli on his arms then walk towards them

 

“Henry, Sulli, please listen to me ok”

 

The twins look at him

 

“Ba ba love both of you so much, but I need to go back in Seoul”

 

They shook their head

 

“We don’t want you to go”

 

“Just stay here for us. If mama doesn’t want, just stay here for us”

 

Jongwoon look at Ryeowook who remains quiet

 

“I’m really sorry. I want to stay, but I can’t”

 

“Why?”

 

“Let’s put it this way, I’ll be back to visit you again”

 

“When?”

 

“I still don’t know, maybe on summer vacation. I’ll go back here then if your mother allows me, I’ll bring both of you in Seoul, so you can spend your vacation with me”

 

Jongwoon was controlling his tears from falling as he stares at his twins sadly. His heart is aching seeing them crying, but he can’t do anything for them to be together. Henry looks at Ryeowook sadly

 

“Mama, can ba ba stay here until we fall asleep?”

 

Ryeowook nods

 

“Let’s go to our room now”

 

Jongwoon and Ryeowook go upstairs with their kids. Henry and Sulli take a warm bath. Ryeowook help them then they change with their pajamas and sit on the bed. Jongwoon sit beside them holding a book

 

“It’s time for bed time story”

 

Jongwoon smile at them

 

“What’s the story ba ba?”

 

“It’s a story about an arrogant prince”

 

Ryeowook stare at Jongwoon and raise her eyebrow

 

“YAH! There’s no story like that and that’s not the tit—“

 

“Wookie, just listen ok”

 

“But yo—“

 

“Shhh, this is my story so don’t meddle”

 

Henry and Sulli stare at them, Jongwoon smile

 

“We’re not fighting, are you ready to listen?”

 

Henry and Sulli nod; Jongwoon look at Ryeowook before he begins his story

 

“Once upon a time in a far away land an arrogant man met a very beautiful lady, they once met when the arrogant man was driving his car and bump to the young lady’s car, and then the second time that they met is during their engagement”

 

Ryeowook look at Jongwoon

 

“Their parents bound them to marry each other; the young lady was eighteen years old when she marries the arrogant man who is already twenty five years old at that time. They both hate each other, but as the time go by and living together in the same roof, makes them realize that they love each other. The arrogant man loves his wife so much, but because he’s so stupid, he made a big mistake and hurt his wife so much. He abandon her and their kids because of a girl, but then he realize that life is empty without her by his side and then he fly to the far away land just to win her heart again, but too bad she’s already getting married”

 

“It’s so sad ba ba, maybe the man can beg for his wife so they can be together again”

 

“He already did, but the wound that he left is very deep”

 

Jongwoon was controlling his tears from falling as he stares at Ryeowook who avoids his eyes

 

“How about their kids?”

 

Jongwoon take a deep breath and smile

 

“The kids are hoping just like their father that the wife will have a change of heart. Her husband was already paying for the mistake that he made. He’s doing everything to win her back, but it’s really hard for her to forget and forgive, especially if the one she love so much hurt her so badly and leaves her for other woman. If only the man can kill his self, but it will never bring good and it’s not a good example for his kids”

 

Ryeowook look at her twins

 

“Henry and Sulli, it’s time for bed”

 

Henry and Sulli kissed their parents

 

“Ba ba, will sing us a lullaby, right?”

 

Sulli ask Jongwoon

 

“Of course baby”

 

Jongwoon smile and start singing a sweet lullaby. That was the first time that they heard their father’s voice when he sing, they stare at him happily and slowly close their eyes and sleep peacefully

 

 

 

 

 

Ryeowook walk with Jongwoon outside after putting Henry and Sulli to sleep

 

“Thank you Wookie”

 

Jongwoon smile at her

 

“I just did that for your kids. I don’t want them to get mad at me, and hate me again for not allowing them to be with you”

 

Jongwoon hugs her

 

“I’m really sorry for everything Wookie”

 

“Jongwoon, please let go of me”

 

“Just let me hug you for the last time”

 

Ryeowook didn’t protest and just let her ex-husband hug her tight

 

“I hope you can forgive me someday”

 

Jongwoon stare at her eyes, Ryeowook can see sadness on Jongwoon’s eyes and tears that was about to fall, but he keeps on controlling it

 

“Please take care of yourself always and I hope you and Kibum will be happy. Best wishes on your wedding”

 

Ryeowook manage to smile

 

“Thanks”

 

“Can I ask a favor?”

 

“What is it?”

 

“Can I fetch Henry and Sulli tomorrow? I just want to be with them before I fly back in Seoul tomorrow evening”

 

Ryeowook nod

 

“Ok, no problem”

 

“I love you Wookie and... goodbye”

 

Ryeowook turn her back, Jongwoon’s tears start to fall while watching her walk inside the house. Ryeowook look at the window and watch Jongwoon get inside the car and start driving it. She sits on the sofa as she begins to weep. Heechul happens to be in the kitchen, and when she went out to go upstairs she saw her daughter crying.

 

“Li xu”

 

Ryeowook hug her mother as she start to cry hard

 

“Why is it so hard to forget him?”

 

“Because you still love him, so don’t hurt yourself and Bummie”

 

Ryeowook stare at Heechul

 

“Stop hurting yourself honey, stop doing this to you. Marrying Bummie will only make you suffer a lot and you will end up hurting him because you love Jongwoon and not Kibum”

 

Ryeowook shook her head

 

“No mama. I don’t love the man who hurt me”

 

Heechul pout

 

“Don’t lie, you need to listen to your heart. Remember what your nai nai always told you?”

 

“Follow your heart’s desire and fight for what you believe is right”

 

“Your heart is still beating for Jongwoon. Please think properly Li xu. I don’t raise a stupid daughter, so please use your brain”

 

Heechul kissed her daughter’s forehead

 

“Good night honey, please sleep after you think properly”

 

“Good night mama”

 

“If you choose Jongwoon over Kibum, don’t worry about your ba ba. I’ll take care of him”

 

Heechul smile brightly before going upstairs
