CHAPTER 6

 

Hankyung was reviewing his company’s sale when Sungmin went downstairs and hug him

 

“Ba ba, wo xianzai yao zou liao” (Ba ba, I’m going now)

 

“Zhaogu” (Take care)

 

“Wo bu dasuan zai zheli chi wanfan” (I’m not going to eat dinner here)

 

“Weisheme?” (Why?)

 

“Gui xian he wo yiqi chi wancan” (Kyuhyun and I will eat dinner together)

 

“Ok”

 

“Mama zai nali?” (Where is mama?)

 

“Still in her laboratory; she didn’t go home last night because she needs to finish some experiments”

 

Sungmin kiss her father’s cheek

 

“Wo xianzai jiu qu” (I’ll go now Appa)

 

“Shi anquan de” (Be safe)

 

Sungmin smile at him

 

“Saranghae”

 

“Saranghae ba ba”

 

Sungmin give her father one last kiss on his cheek before leaving. Hankyung resume his work when his older daughter left. He bury his face on his laptop as he review his sales when Ryeowook came down running

 

“Ba ba”

 

“Shi de fengmi ma?” (Yes honey?)

 

“Women xuyao tan tan” (We need to talk)

 

Hankyung look at his younger daughter, who is frowning at him

 

“Chu le shenme wenti?” (What’s wrong?)

 

“Wo bing buxiang jia gei nage aoman de nanren” (I don’t want to marry that arrogant man)

 

“Ni zai shuo xie shenme?” (What are you talking about?)

 

“Qing quxiao hunli” (Please cancel the wedding)

 

“Meiyou meiyou” (No)

 

“Shi de” (Yes)

 

Hankyung take a deep breath

 

“Ni yao jia gei Zhong huan buguan ni xihuan hai shi bu xihuan” (You’re going to marry Jongwoon whether you like it or not)

 

“Wo buxiang” (I don’t want)

 

“Shi de, ni hui” (Yes you will)

 

“Ba ba”

 

“Zhe jiushi women de jueding, ni yuanyi jia gei ta xia zhou” (That’s our decision; you’ll marry him next week)

 

“Wo hui sha le wo ziji” (I’m going to kill myself)

 

Heechul arrives at home with a smile on her face but it suddenly vanish when she see her husband and daughter arguing with each other. She stands at the corner while watching them blankly

 

“Buyao ying weishou de nuhai” (Don’t be a hard headed girl)

 

“Wo bing buxiang jia gei ta, qing buyao zisi” (I don’t want to marry him, please don’t be selfish)

 

“Women bushi zisi, women zhishi xiang shenme shi zui shihe ni” (We’re not being selfish we only want what is the best for you)

 

“Shi de quanli” (Yeah right)

 

“Tingzhi dui wo shuohua yiyang” (Stop talking to me like that)

 

“Wo hen ni” (I hate you)

 

“Shui gaosu ni wo zheyang de huida?” (Who told you to answer me like that?)

 

“Wo hen ni” (I hate you)

 

Hankyung stare at his daughter seriously, he grabs all his paper works and his laptop. He notice his wife standing at the corner while staring at them blankly; he walks towards her

 

“Tan tan ni der nuer, qing ta jiao lianghao de jiazhiguan”(Talk to your daughter and please teach her good values)

 

Hankyung stare at Heechul seriously before going upstairs. Ryeowook sit on the sofa while crying, Heechul place her things on the couch and sit beside her daughter

 

“Fasheng shenme shi?” (What happen?)

 

“Wo buxiang jie hun Zhong huan” (I don’t want to marry Jongwoon)

 

Heechul take a deep breath and hug her daughter

 

“Listen to me”

 

Ryeowook shook her head

 

“Li xu, please listen to mama”

 

“Wo hen ni” (I hate you)

 

“But we love you so much”

 

“If you love me, then why do you need to force me to marry that bastard man?”

 

“You need to understand, we only want what is the best for you and we believe that Jongwoon is the best husband for you”

 

“Dan ta shi wo de diren” (But he is my enemy)

 

“It’s ok, you’ll learn to love him more”

 

“I don’t think so”

 

“Yes you will, just open your heart and accept him and you’ll learn to love him. You’ll be fine with him and we know that he’ll be a good husband and father at the same time”

 

Ryeowook wipe her tears

 

“Ba ba is mad at me”

 

“Because you’re being a hard headed girl and you hurt his feelings. Your father loves you so much so why do you need to hate him?”

 

“I didn’t mean to say it”

 

“Then you should apologize”

 

“Are you sure mama, that marrying Jongwoon is the best for me?”

 

“Yes honey, you’ll only understand us when you finally learn to love him and realize that he’s such a good man”

 

Ryeowook look at her mother and nod

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After eating dinner Kyuhyun and Sungmin went at the Red Place to meet up with Jongwoon. He was waiting for them while reading some articles about his engagement with Han Ryeowook. Sungmin enters the function room and see Jongwoon sitting alone while reading. Jongwoon smile upon seeing her, Sungmin sit beside him

 

“News spread so fast”

 

Sungmin look at him blankly, Jongwoon hand her five newspapers and ten magazines and show her thirteen articles on the internet about his engagement with Sungmin’s younger sister

 

“You’re really famous Jongwoon-ah, daebak”

 

Sungmin smile at him. Kyuhyun joins them after talking with his business partner on the phone

 

“What’s going on? Why did you bring a lot of newspapers and magazines and you even carry your laptop with you? Are we going to have business meeting here or what?”

 

“I just want to show you how fast the news spread”

 

Kyuhyun raise his eyebrow and grab the magazine that Sungmin was holding and stare on it

 

“Wow, I’ll never knew that a playboy like you is a really a hit”

 

“I told you, people will die just to see me”

 

“Please cut that imagination of yours”

 

Kyuhyun sit on the couch near the window and stare on his cousin

 

“What’s your plan after the wedding?”

 

Kyuhyun ask him

 

“Honeymoon?”

 

“Come on, that’s not what I’m asking ok, what I mean is what will happen to Wookie’s future?”

 

Jongwoon look at Sungmin who is staring at him and waiting for his answer

 

“Well, we need to talk about that”

 

“What?”

 

“Minnie, your sister doesn’t even want to talk to me properly, so how can we discuss our future with each other if she keeps on irritating me and talking an alien language”

 

“YAH”

 

“Mianhae, it’s a Chinese language in which I can’t understand”

 

Jongwoon sigh

 

“You need to take care of my sister”

 

“I can’t promise you that”

 

“I’ll kill you”

 

“Then do it now”

 

Sungmin raise her eyebrow

 

“How can you be a hard headed boy?”

 

“I don’t know?”

 

“Please prove to me that my parents are not wrong for letting my sister marry you”

 

“I don’t want to marry your sister”

 

“As if Wookie wants to marry you”

 

Jongwoon stand and walk towards the window

 

“Aish! What kind of brain do our parents have?”

 

Sungmin didn’t answer, Jongwoon look at Kyuhyun but he turn his eyes away from him

 

“Minnie, I can’t promise you anything, but there’s one thing for sure... I’ll provide everything that your noisy little sister needs”

 

“I feel so sorry for my sister. Let’s go now Kyu, I hate talking to nonsense people”

 

Kyuhyun stand up and pat his cousin’s shoulder

 

“I’ll see you later and we need to talk”

 

Jongwoon just nod at him, Kyuhyun hold Sungmin’s hand and stare at Jongwoon before leaving the place with Sungmin

 

 

 

Kyuhyun drop Sungmin at home

 

“Just don’t mind my cousin”

 

Sungmin didn’t response

 

“You go inside now and have a good rest”

 

Sungmin remains quiet, Kyuhyun kiss her cheek

 

“Baby, I’ll talk to Jongwoon; please don’t think about it too much”

 

Sungmin stare at the window

 

“Li xu is my sister, how can you tell me not to think about her situation if the man he’s marrying is Jongwoon?”

 

“Baby, it’s not like that. Just give Jongwoon a break”

 

Sungmin look at Kyuhyun

 

“What kind of break does he want? He can’t even cut his habit of collecting girls and he still keeps on dating girls and going out with his ex-girlfriends even though he’s getting married next week.”

 

“That’s him, so you don’t need to intervene with his business”

 

“Li xu is my sister”

 

“I know, but baby can you just let them and don’t worry too much”

 

“What the hell are you talking about? I care for my sister”

 

Kyuhyun look at her seriously

 

“Wookie was the one who will marry my cousin and not you, and it’s beyond their private life as husband and wife on how they will handle their future and treat each other. You’re not the one who will be by Jongwoon’s side when he wakes up, sleep, eat or what, it’s your sister who suppose to worry about him and not you”

 

“I really can’t understand boys; you play around with girls without thinking about our feelings”

 

“Minnie, when your sister leaves your house to be with Jongwoon, she’s all alone and it’s up to them to plan whatever they want and what kind of relationship and family they want to build, so stop superseding on their business ok”

 

“How can you not understand me?”

 

“YOU’RE THE ONE WHO CAN’T UNDERSTAND ME”

 

Kyuhyun raise his voice because he’s already losing his temper towards Sungmin

 

“You suppose to worry about our life when we get married, but why do you keep on mingling with other people’s business? Stop treating your sister like a baby so she will mature and grow as a lady”

 

“I’m not treating her like a baby”

 

“Yes you are”

 

Sungmin opens the car door

 

“We don’t need to talk because this conversation is nonsense. I’m just losing my mind because of you, because you don’t know how to understand. Tell your playboy cousin that I’ll see him on his wedding day”

 

Kyuhyun hold her hands so she can’t go outside

 

“Baby, please I hate arguing with you”

 

Sungmin push his hand away from her and immediately went outside banging the car door. She went inside the house and look at her parents who are happily watching horror movies together at the living room. Heechul suddenly shouts when she notice someone standing at the corner

 

“AHHHHHHHH!!!!”

 

Heechul hold her chest as her heart beats so fast; Sungmin turn on the lights and stare at them. Hankyung smile at his daughter upon recognizing her

 

“Honey, its Minni; no need to be afraid”

 

Hankyung smile at his wife. Heechul frown at her daughter

 

“You almost kill me Minnie”

 

Sungmin stare at them and frown

 

“What’s wrong with you?”

 

Sungmin took a deep breath

 

“Ba ba, do you think it’s right to let Wookie marry Jongwoon?”

 

Hankyung nods while his eyes are focus on TV

 

“Don’t tell me you’re being paranoid like your sister?”

 

“It’s not like that mama, I just want to make sure that my sister will be just fine”

 

“Of course she is”

 

Heechul stand and walk towards her

 

“Li xu will be just fine”

 

“You don’t understand mama, Jongwoon is a playboy”

 

“He will change believe me”

 

“Aish!”

 

Heechul hold her face

 

“Honey, everything will be alright, you go upstairs and stop thinking too much. Li xu will be just fine ok, have a rest now”

 

“I can’t understand what kind of brain you and ba ba have”

 

Sungmin run upstairs leaving her mother staring at Hankyung with wide eyes

 

“Did you hear that? I really can’t understand where your daughters get their attitude”

 

Hankyung turn off the TV

 

“You want to know?”

 

Heechul nod

 

“Why don’t you ask yourself?”

 

Hankyung smile and went upstairs

 

“What the hell is that? What a very weird husband”

 

Heechul sigh and follow him upstairs.
