CHAPTER 11

 

 

The newlywed couple is back in Seoul; Jongwoon was driving his car quietly, Ryeowook stare at him

 

“What?”

 

Jongwoon stop the car when the traffic light turns red

 

“Are you not coming with me?”

 

Jongwoon shook his head

 

“I have a lot of things to do”

 

“But, mama and ba ba will surely look for you”

 

“Just tell them I have work”

 

Jongwoon stare at her and notice her swelling knee

 

“Jongwoon”

 

“Hmmm?”

 

Ryeowook point her finger on the traffic light

 

“The traffic light turns green”

 

Jongwoon just nod and start driving his car quietly...he drops Ryeowook to their house before he goes to his work.

 

“What time are you going home?”

 

Jongwoon shook his head as an answer

 

“My driver will fetch you later; we’re going to stay at the house for the meantime”

 

Ryeowook nod

 

“Please go now; I’m going to be late”

 

“You take care”

 

“Arasso, just go now”

 

Ryeowook opens the door and go out very carefully; her knee is aching so badly, it’s hard for her to walk and move a muscle. She waves her hand to bid goodbye but Jongwoon just ignores her, driving his car fast.

 

“He’s driving like a drag racer; he’ll hit every car on the street. So arrogant”

 

Ryeowook went inside their house and smile at her parents and sister who are talking happily at the living room; they stare at her for the meantime because they were so shock to see her.

 

“Why are you here? You’re supposed to be on your honeymoon, right?”

 

Heechul asked her curiously

 

“We need to go back here in Seoul early, Jongwoon needs to work. His manager call him, just inform that he needs to go back early”

 

Sungmin frown

 

“But you’re just a newlywed couple; he needs to spend a lot of time with you first, before resuming his work”

 

“It’s ok, and I miss Seoul already”

 

Ryeowook walks towards her parents and hug them

 

“Wo xiangnian ni le, mama he ba ba “ (I miss you so much mama and ba ba)

 

“Wo ye xiang ni wo keai de nuer, zenme Zhong huan?” (I miss you too my lovely daughter, how’s Jongwoon)

 

Hankyung ask her while smiling, Ryeowook manage to smile brightly

 

“Well, he’s fine. He was the one who drops me here, he actually wants to see you but he needs to go to his work.”

 

“That’s ok, we’re just going to see him next time. How is he as a husband? Is he taking care of you?”

 

Ryeowook just stare at her father

 

“Li xu?”

 

Ryeowook sit on the sofa because her knee is really aching; Sungmin notice the bruise on her right knee so she went to the kitchen and grab some ice and put it on her knees

 

“What happen to your knee sweetheart?”

 

“I’m fine”

 

“No you’re not, it’s actually swelling”

 

“I accidentally hit my knee on the faucet, and fall on the floor, that’s why it’s swelling”

 

Sungmin raised her eyebrow

 

“Jongwoon didn’t even care to bring you to the hospital?”

 

“Unnie, it’s just a bruise. I’m fine”

 

“Even though, he supposed to take care of you rather than worrying about his work. What kind of husband he is?”

 

“Unnie, Jongwoon is fine. I just don’t want to go at the hospital; you know that I’m scared of hospitals”

 

Ryeowook lied; Heechul look at her with worried face

 

“Are you alright?”

 

“Yes mama, don’t mind it. I’m fine”

 

Ryeowook smile at her

 

“So how’s the honeymoon?”

 

“Australia is really nice, and I love to go back there. Their rest house is so big and very wonderful”

 

“How is it to be married with him?”

 

“Do I need to answer that?”

 

Heechul nod

 

“Well, I don’t know. I wish I’m just dreaming, but I’m not. It’s still a worst nightmare”

 

“Li xu”

 

“I’m telling you the truth mama; I still hate that Kim Jongwoon. He’s such a short tempered man and so arrogant”

 

“He’ll definitely change”

 

“Not a chance”

 

Sungmin smile at her

 

“I’ve seen your pictures at the wild; the animals are so cute, and I miss Australia. I like the panda; I’m going to ask Kyu to buy me one”

 

Hankyung laugh at her daughter

 

“Minnie honey, that is already an endangered species so you can’t buy it anymore”

 

Sungmin pout

 

“Really, so sad”

 

“I’ll just buy you a dog”

 

“So nice, when are you going to buy me ba ba?”

 

“Tomorrow if you want”

 

“Ok”

 

Ryeowook frowns

 

“How about me?”

 

“You’re afraid of the dog honey”

 

“Then you buy me a rabbit”

 

“You ask Jongwoon first if you could take care a rabbit as your pet”

 

“I don’t need his permission”

 

“Of course you need, he is your husband”

 

“Aish! So unfair”

 

Heechul hug her and smile brightly

 

“So, do you have good news?”

 

Ryeowook stare at her blankly

 

“Are you pregnant now?”

 

Her parents stare at her happily, Sungmin smile at her

 

“Unfortunately, no”

 

Heechul’s smile suddenly vanished

 

“Why? Teukie will be frustrated if she finds out”

 

“We’re not doing anything yet”

 

Heechul’s eyes widened while staring at her

 

“You’ve been together in Australia for four days, but still nothing happens?”

 

“Yes Mama”

 

Heechul sigh

 

“I never knew that Jongwoon is so slow, in spite of being a playboy”

 

Sungmin nods, Heechul eye Ryeowook

 

“Maybe you didn’t do the things that I told you”

 

“Yes and I don’t want to do it mama”

 

“It’s your fault, I told you to follow it”

 

“But I don’t know how to be seductive”

 

Hankyung laugh and poke his wife

 

“What the hell are you teaching to your daughter?”

 

“It’s none of your business, it’s exclusively for girls. No boys allowed”

 

Heechul stuck her tongue out

 

“Don’t tell me you’re teaching her weird things? Just like what you did during our honeymoon. You tie me on the bed while taking my clothes off, one by one”

 

Heechul suddenly blush

 

“Yah! Stop blabbing it in front of our children”

 

“They are old enough”

 

“But still…so embarrassing”

 

“Because you’re so wild”

 

“Because you’re too shy to me, that’s why I need to be wild for us to be able to make love. If I didn’t do an effort, we’ll just end up like Jongwoon and your daughter, that’s so boring”

 

“Yah! I suddenly have goose bumps”

 

Sungmin and Ryeowook stare at their parents while laughing. Heechul was blushing hard as well as Hankyung.

 

“Going back to you Li xu, you need to follow what I told you, ok?”

 

Ryeowook shook her head

 

“I don’t want, it’s hard”

 

“What’s hard in seducing your husband? You’re already married, so it’s legal for you to seduce him.”

 

“Mama, I’m still young for ”

 

“Stop playing innocent honey, you need to make love with Jongwoon for you to get pregnant”

 

“I’m not a baby maker”

 

“It’s not what I mean”

 

“But I’m still young to be pregnant”

 

“But Li xu, I and your ba ba including your in-laws are looking forward to have a grandchild now”

 

“Mama, I’m afraid”

“Of having ”

 

Sungmin and their parents suddenly laugh at her

 

“OMO, my daughter is still a baby”

 

Hankyung told her

 

“Alright then, we will not going to pressure you; we’re going to wait for you to get pregnant, but don’t make it too late, ok?”

 

Ryeowook just nod at them

 

 

 

 

 

*KIM’S RESIDENCE*

 

 

Kibum was busy reading a manga at the living room when his sister in law arrives; Kibum smile and run towards her, giving her a sweet hug

 

“Welcome home sister in law. I’m glad to see you”

 

Ryeowook stare at him

 

“Sister in law?”

 

Kibum nod happily

 

“You’re my sister in law now”

 

Kibum’s smile suddenly vanished when he notice Ryeowook’s sad face.

 

“What’s wrong?”

 

Ryeowook just shook her head as an answer; Kibum notice her knees trembling, he was shock to see her right knee swelling

 

“Why is your right knee swelling? Did you fall somewhere?”

 

“Yes”

 

“Where?”

 

“Well...I actually hit it on the faucet”

 

Kibum carry her on the sofa

 

“I’ll go get the first aid kit”

 

Ryeowook hold his hand to stop him

 

“Bummie, I’m fine; no need to worry; Unnie already put some ice on it awhile ago”

 

“So, you went to your house awhile ago?”

 

Ryeowook nod with a smile

 

“I miss my family so much, I ask Jongwoon to drop me there”

 

Kibum raised his eyebrow

 

“Hyung didn’t come with you?”

 

“He needs to go to his work”

 

“That’s why you comeback early?”

 

“Yes”

 

Kibum frown and sit beside her

 

“When we arrive, you’re already in school; Umma and Appa are already in their office”

 

“Does Hyung know it?”

 

Ryeowook stare at him blankly

 

“About your right knee”

 

Ryeowook shook her head

 

“Bummie, I’m fine”

 

“He’s not taking care of you right?”

 

“Of course he is”

 

Ryeowook lied

 

“Stop lying”

 

“I’m telling you the truth, your brother is really a caring husband. Where is he?”

 

Kibum shook his head

 

“His not yet here?”

 

“I guess so; I haven’t seen him since I arrive”

 

“Maybe, he’s still working. He’s really busy”

 

“Even though he’s busy, he must attend to your needs first. Honestly, you guys are just a newlywed couple; he must spend more time with you rather than his work”

 

“It’s ok, I understand him. He must work hard because he’ll be the one who will send me to school”

 

“He’s already rich”

 

“He needs to be richer for our future baby”

 

Kibum stare at her with wide eyes open

 

“You’re already pregnant? That was fast”

 

Ryeowook flick his forehead

 

“Of course not, I said future baby, I didn’t remember telling you that I’m already pregnant”

 

“Well, being pregnant is not a bad idea”

 

“You sound like mama. Why would everyone wants me to be pregnant?”

 

“Because you’re already married; I’m sure Hyung will be very happy”

 

Ryeowook suddenly blush

 

“We’re not doing anything yet”

 

“As in no physical contact at all?”

 

Ryeowook nod

 

“If that’s the case, you’ll be pregnant with Hyung’s glare”

 

“What the hell is that?”

 

Kibum laugh

 

“Stop teasing me”

 

“I’m not teasing you. I just heard it from his ex-girlfriends, they often told him that his glare can impregnate woman. I think that’s really funny”

 

“Funny? It’s actually scary, it’s so freaky”

 

Kibum laugh so hard

 

“It’s really funny; those girls are really funny for telling my brother that weird thing. I mean, if Hyung’s glare can impregnate a woman, how can a deadly glare impregnate a woman? They’re so crazy”

 

“Will you please stop laughing?”

 

Kibum bite his lower lip to control his laughter

 

“How many girlfriends does your arrogant brother have before he marries me?”

 

Kibum start to count on his fingers

 

“Actually...my fingers are not enough to count it”

 

“What?”

 

“He had a lot of girlfriends; I don’t know if that’s a serious relationship or just for fun. Appa always reprimand him for having a lot of girlfriends.”

 

“He’s not just an arrogant man, but also a playboy”

 

Kibum nod; Kangin and Teukie arrive at home and were shock to see their daughter in law

 

“Why are you here? You’re supposed to be on your honeymoon, why did you comeback so early?”

 

“Umma, Jongwoon needs to work already”

 

Teukie looks at Kangin who only shook his head

 

“He’s really a hard headed son of mine, how are you?”

 

“Not that fine Appa”

 

“Why? Are you sick or what? Is Jongwoon giving you head ache?”

 

Kibum look at his parents

 

“Her right knee is badly injured”

 

Teukie stare at her knee with worried face as she examines it

 

“Baby, what happen to you?”

 

“I accidentally hit it on the faucet”

 

“We need to bring you at the hospital”

 

“No Umma, I’m fine. Believe me, it’s just a bruise”

 

“Your knee is already swelling”

 

Teukie look at her husband

 

“Kangin, can you please call a doctor?”

 

“Umma, I’m fine”

 

“We still need to consult a doctor”

 

Ryeowook shook her head

 

“I’m fine; Unnie already put an ice on it awhile ago”

 

“You went to your house awhile ago?”

 

Ryeowook nod

 

“Jongwoon drop me there”

 

“Where is he?”

 

“Working, that’s why we’re back early. He needs to resume his work”

 

Teukie sigh and look at her husband again

 

“Kangin, please call the doctor”

 

Kangin grabs the telephone and call the doctor

 

“Let’s go upstairs, you need to rest. Let’s wait for the the doctor in your room”

 

Kangin carry his daughter in law on his arms. They went to Jongwoon’s room and lay her carefully on the bed.

 

“We’re just going to wait for the doctor to arrive. We need to let him examine your knee, if you don’t want to end up like Chullie”

 

Ryeowook nod at her father in law; Teukie sit on the bed and smile at her

 

“How’s the honeymoon?”

 

“Fine, your rest house is really beautiful; I love the garden”

 

“How about Jongwoon?”

 

Ryeowook didn’t answer; Teukie stares at her husband sadly, Kangin sigh and sit on the other side of the bed

 

“Does my son gives you head ache?”

 

Ryeowook shook her head and try her best to smile sweetly

 

“Is there any problem with him?”

 

Ryeowook shook her head again

 

“Don’t worry about us Umma and Appa”

 

“Stop covering up for him”

 

“Appa, I’m telling you the truth. Jongwoon and I are ok, the only problem is”

 

“Hyung is a playboy?”

 

Ryeowook frown at Kibum

 

“No, we can’t adjust to our situation yet. I still can’t believe that I’m already married, and probably, Jongwoon feels the same way too”

 

Teukie hold her hands

 

“You’ll get use to it little by little”

 

“I hope so Umma”

 

“Do you have any news for me?”

 

Kibum suddenly laugh

 

“Why are you laughing sweetheart?”

 

“Wookie is not yet pregnant, if that’s what you’re asking her”

 

Ryeowook smile weakly at her mother in law

 

“Why? Heechul will be very upset”

 

“She already know about it”

 

“It’s so depressing”

 

“Do I really need to be pregnant?”

 

Kangin smile at her and ruffles her hair

 

“Don’t mind your mother in law, you don’t need to be in a hurry. You’re still young to be a mother”

 

Ryeowook sigh

 

“Thanks for defending me Appa”

 

“No problem”

 

Teukie keeps on shaking her head

 

“I really can’t believe it; Jongwoon is so slow”

 

“They don’t need to be in a hurry baby”

 

“Jongwoon is already twenty five”

 

“That’s still young”

 

“Chullie and I want to have a grandchild now”

 

“But you don’t need to pressure Wookie”

 

Ryeowook and Kibum nod while staring at them

 

“Sister in law should study first before the baby”

 

“You’re right Bummie”

 

Ryeowook gives him a high five; Teukie stares at them

 

“You guys are so serious”

 

Kibum just smile at his mother; the doctor arrive and check Ryeowook’s right knee

 

“You need to stay on bed for one week ok”

 

“But I need to go back at school next week”

 

“You need to rest your knee for the meantime, if this injury get worse, it will be hard for you to walk. It’s good that there are no broken bones or else we need to perform an operation. But the muscles inside are also swelling, that’s why you need to rest it for a week, if you don’t want to lose your right knee”

 

The doctor give her pain killers that she needs to drink every six hours. Teukie hug her daughter in law who is still staring at the doctor with teary eyes

 

“You heard the doctor baby, you need to stay on bed for a week and take a rest”

 

“But Umma”

 

Ryeowook stare at her sadly

 

“Shhh, don’t worry the school knows that you’ll be out for two weeks for your honeymoon, so you don’t need to worry that much”

 

Kibum pat her head

 

“Don’t worry sweetie pie, I’ll keep you updated about school, and I will give you notes, so you won’t missed a lot of things”

 

“Thanks Bummie”

 

“We can study here at home, I’ll teach you the lessons that you will missed”

 

“Thanks a lot Bummie

 

Ryeowook smile at him; Kangin and Kibum escorted the doctor outside, leaving Teukie inside the room with Ryeowook

 

“I’ll get your dinner so you can drink your medicine”

 

“I’m sorry for giving you a burden Umma”

 

Teukie cupped her face and kissed her cheek

 

“Don’t worry about it; I’m going to take care of you because you’re my daughter now.”

 

“Thank you”

 

“I’ll just go downstair to get your dinner, I’ll be back. Just stay here and relax, arasso?”

 

Ryeowook nod; Teukie kissed her forehead before going out of the room. She grabs her phone and calls her husband

 

“Yeoboseo”

 

“Where are you?”

 

“I’ll be home in ten minutes, why?”

 

“I’m just asking”

 

“I’ll hang up now and don’t call me again if it’s not important”

 

Jongwoon hang the phone; Ryeowook frown while staring on her mobile phone

 

“Aish! I’m sick because of you. I’ll kill you if ever I lose my right knee”

 

Ryeowook sigh and place her phone on the table; Teukie came back with her dinner, she sits on the bed and places the tray of food on the bed

 

“You need to eat all of this”

 

“I’ll grow like a hippo”

 

Teukie smile

 

“It’s ok, you’re so skinny. You need to be healthy so you won’t face any problems when you get pregnant”

 

“Umma, can you just drop that thing”

 

“I’m so sorry; I’m just excited to have a grandchild”

 

Ryeowook smile weakly; Jongwoon arrives at home and was shock to see his mother inside his room

 

“What are you doing here Umma?”

 

“Good evening son”

 

Teukie walk towards him and kissed his forehead

 

“I’m watching over your wife. She’s going to eat her dinner, and since you’re here, you need to feed her ok?”

 

“Why?”

 

“She’s sick, her right knee is swelling. Don’t worry, the doctor already give her medicines. She just need to have a rest for a week”

 

Jongwoon look at Ryeowook and nod his head

 

“I’ll go downstairs now, I’ll join your father and your brother in dinner. I’ll just let the helper bring your dinner here so you can eat with Wookie”

 

“I already have my dinner. I go out with Jessica awhile ago”

 

Teukie frown at him

 

“It’s just a dinner”

 

“You never change”

 

Teukie sigh and left the room; Jongwoon walk towards his wife and sit on the bed

 

“How’s your knee?”

 

“Not fine”

 

“You eat your dinner now”

 

Ryeowook shook her head

 

“Why not?”

 

“You heard Umma, you need to feed me”

 

Jongwoon smirk

 

“You’re such a brat kid”

 

“I’m already eighteen years old”

 

“You’re already eighteen years old and you still don’t know how to eat alone? Even a twelve year old kid know how to eat alone”

 

Ryeowook pout

 

“You need to take care of me”

 

“Why?”

 

“Because you’re my husband; husband always takes care of his wife”

 

Jongwoon smile and grabs the spoon

 

“How can I have a twelve year old wife?”

 

“I told you that I’m already eighteen”

 

“You’re still young for me”

 

“Because you’re already an ahjusshi”

 

Jongwoon stare at her seriously

 

“With a very short temper”

 

“YAH!”

 

Ryeowook laugh

 

“You need to feed me now, I’m hungry”

 

“You eat alone”

 

Jongwoon place the spoon on the tray and went at the bathroom to have a shower. After taking a shower, he wears his pajamas and go out of his dressing room. He hides at the corner when he saw Ryeowook crying while talking someone over the phone

 

“Li xu, why are you crying?”

 

“I just miss you mama”

 

“Is there any problem?”

 

“I want to go home now”

 

“But you already had a husband and you need to stay with him. Is Jongwoon you a hard time?”

 

“No”

 

Ryeowook lied so her mother won’t be worried about her

 

“My right knee is aching so badly”

 

“Did you already consult a doctor?”

 

Ryeowook nod

 

“Umma and Appa call a doctor awhile ago. He gives me a pain killer”

 

“Then you need to drink it; stop crying now honey, I’ll be sad if you won’t stop crying”

 

Ryeowook wipe her tears

 

“I miss you mama and of course ba ba and unnie too”

 

“You’ll get use to it. Let’s just go out someday, so you won’t miss us that much”

 

“Arasso”

 

“Be a good girl and behave”

 

“Yes mama”

 

“Don’t give Jongwoon and your in laws a head ache”

 

“Yes mama”

 

“You need to take a rest now”

 

“I will”

 

“I love you honey”

 

“I love you too mama”

 

Ryeowook hang up and wipe her tears; Jongwoon slowly walk towards her

 

“Why are you crying?”

 

Ryeowook shook her head as an answer

 

“Do you really cry easily?”

 

She nods at him; Jongwoon sit on the bed and start feeding her

 

“Please open your mouth babe. You need to eat your dinner now”

 

Ryeowook stare at him

 

“You told me that you want me to feed you, right?”

 

She nods her head

 

“That’s what I’m doing, so please open your mouth and eat your dinner”

 

Jongwoon wipe her tears with his fingers

 

“You already have a husband, please stop being a crybaby”

 

“Because you always make me cry”

 

“Me?”

 

Ryeowook nod

 

“You’re just sensitive”

 

“You suppose to have dinner with me and not with other girls”

 

“You’re so demanding”

 

“I have the right to demand”

 

“Then, I’m taking that right away from you”

 

“I’m your wife”

 

“Jessica is my girlfriend”

 

“Just a girlfriend”

 

“But I love her”

 

Ryeowook fell silent

 

“Just eat now”

 

Ryeowook opens as her husband start feeding her. Jongwoon put the tray at the kitchen when Ryeowook finish eating. He then returns to his room and help her drink her medicine. He fix the bed and lay on it

 

“Why are you sleeping here?”

 

“This is my bed; I have the right to sleep here”

 

Ryeowook shook her head

 

“I don’t want to sleep with you”

 

“Where do you want me to sleep?”

 

Ryeowook point her finger on the sofa

 

“Then you sleep there if you want”

 

“But I can’t walk”

 

“Aish!”

 

Jongwoon stare at her

 

“You’re my wife; it’s legal for us to sleep on one bed together”

 

“I don’t want to sleep with you”

 

“Fine”

 

Jongwoon grab his pillows and blanket and lay on the sofa while frowning

 

“Why do I need to give way?”

 

“Because you’re the husband”

 

“Shut up”

 

Ryeowook stuck her tongue out

 

“You sleep now alien, before I lose my temper to you”

 

“Pabo!”

 

“YAH!”

 

Ryeowook smirk and lay down on the bed

 

“Kim, Jongwoon”

 

“What is it Han, Ryeowook? Stop being noisy, I’m trying to sleep here”

 

“I just want to say good night”

 

“Good night and don’t disturb me”

 

Jongwoon was about to sleep when he suddenly remembers something

 

“Han, Ryeowook, are you still awake?”

 

“Yes, why?”

 

“Please turn off the lights. I can’t sleep with lights on”

 

“No way”

 

Jongwoon sit on the sofa

 

“Don’t tell me that you’re afraid of the ghost?”

 

Ryeowook nod

 

“Come on, you’re so childish”

 

Ryeowook stare at him with teary eyes

 

“Please lets’ not turn the lights off”

 

“But I can’t sleep”

 

“I’m sorry, but I have a night blindness. Just let me sleep first before you turn off the lights”

 

“Then, sleep now. Hurry”

 

“Thank you”

 

Jongwoon lie down on the sofa again

 

“By the way, where going to move this Saturday. I already bought a condominium awhile ago, we stay there for the meantime, and I’m still looking for a good place to build our house”

 

“Let’s just stay here for the meantime”

 

“I don’t want to stay with my parents. I’m already married, so I need to move out; and as my wife, you need to come with me”

 

“Arasso”

 

“Go to sleep now”

 

“You too”

 

Jongwoon sigh and put the pillow on his face so he won’t see the lights. He slowly close his eyes and try his best to sleep.
