The Morning After

Fall For You

Mingyu had been the first one to wake up and for a moment, he was disoriented. He was pretty sure that the One Piece poster on the wall wasn't his. There was some slight rustling by his side and he turned to see Wonwoo sleeping beside him. The older had pulled all of the blankets towards him sometime during the night and he was covered by them, leaving just enough space to see his face. Mingyu's heart fell when he saw that there were tear tracks on the other's face. Wonwoo must have been crying after Mingyu fell asleep.

"I'm sorry." Mingyu whispered quietly so he wouldn't wake the other up. He leaned in and placed a kiss on the older's forehead.

Mingyu wanted to stay in bed and just watch the older sleep but he heard the door opening. Hansol was peeking through the door, opening it just enough to see whether Wonwoo was asleep. After checking that his hyung was asleep, he motioned for Mingyu to step outside. Mingyu gave him a slight nod, placing another kiss on his boyfriend's forehead as he carefully got out of bed. He looked at Wonwoo for a long second before stepping out of the room.

"Hansol, what is it?" Mingyu asked after they had closed the door.

Hansol answered him with a fist straight to his face. Mingyu groaned, not expecting that at all as he clutched his bleeding nose. God, this kid could punch. He stepped back from Hansol, unsure if the younger was going to punch him again. Hansol was expressionless as he looked at Mingyu and somehow that was even scarier.

"You made hyung cry. I'm pretty sure Seungcheol hyung told you not to do that. I'm absolutely sure I said don't do that." Hansol said coldly.

Mingyu tipped his head back, trying to stop the blood from flowing. "I know. Look, can I clean myself up first before we talk?"

The younger cocked his head to the side, gauging Mingyu. "It's a bleeding nose; you'll live."

"I think you broke it!"

"Shut up. I don't want hyung to wake up yet."

"Let me just get my nose a little cleaned up please?"

Instead of answering, Hansol pulled out his phone and dialled a number. He was watching Mingyu as the phone rang before turning his back on the older when someone answered. "Jihoon hyung? Oh. Hi, hyper hyung. Hyung still sleeping?"

"Why are you calling my hyungs?" Mingyu asked. "Of course Jihoon hyung is sleeping. It's still early."

Hansol just handed him the phone. "Ask him."

"Ask what?"

"If you can."

Mingyu looked at the younger incredulously but Hansol was serious. He sighed deeply. "Hi, Soonyoung hyung."

" Mingyu?! Hey! What are you doing with Hansol so early in the morning?" Soonyoung asked happily.

"I slept here actually." Mingyu answered.

"Everything's good then? You and Wonwoo talked it out?"

"Yeah, how about you and Jihoon hyung?"

Soonyoung laughed and Mingyu could hear someone groaning beside his hyung. "Sorry, go back to sleep, babe." Soonyoung told Jihoon before focusing back on Mingyu. "There were tears here and there but we're good. So why did Hansol call me? Or Jihoon."

Mingyu looked back at Hansol and saw that the younger was watching him. "Uh, can I get my nose cleaned up? I got punched and it's bleeding so yeah, I'd like to get it cleaned up."

There was no answer for a few moments and Mingyu thought his hyung had hang up on him until he heard a bark of laughter and the sound of hissing. "Okay, I'm going! Don't grab your guitar!" Soonyoung exclaimed, the sound of his feet running heard over the phone as well. "Hey, still there?"

"I'm still here." Mingyu said flatly. He just wanted to clean up his nose; why must this be this hard?

"Okay so Hansol punched you. Nice. I mean you totally deserve it and all." Soonyoung laughed again. "Yeah, go and clean up. Wouldn't want Wonwoo to leave you cause your looks got damaged."

"Hyung said yes." Mingyu said as he tossed the phone back to the younger.

Hansol easily caught it and began talking to Soonyoung. Mingyu couldn't make out the exact words since he was already headed to the bathroom. He cleaned up as much as he could, sighing when he saw that it was swollen with a bruise already. Hansol didn't even look strong, with his mostly lean arms and all but guess he could pack a punch. Mingyu headed to the kitchen next, looking for some ice cubes. He jumped a bit when a towel flew to him and he turned to see Hansol leaning by the door.

"Thanks." Mingyu said as he wrapped the ice with the towel, holding it to his nose. The cold made him wince but he got used to it after a while.

"I'm not going to say sorry for punching you." Hansol said.

"I didn't think you would." Mingyu shrugged. "Soonyoung hyung was right. I deserve it."

"You're actually lucky it was me because Seungcheol hyung would have broken your face and bones."

"Why does such a nice person like Wonwoo have such scary protectors?"

Hansol glared at him. "Why does such a great person like hyung have a boyfriend like you?"

Mingyu stiffened, head lowering down in shame. He didn't have anything to say to that because Hansol was right. Wonwoo could do so much better but he still chose to stay with Mingyu. He needed to apologize a million more times and make it up to the older.

"I don't know." Mingyu whispered. "I don't deserve him."

"You don't." Hansol said matter of factly. "If it was up to me, I would have kicked you out last night. Do you know how rare Wonwoo hyung let others see him cry? I'm pretty sure that he can only cry comfortably with Seungcheol hyung."

"Oh. I'm sorry." Mingyu mumbled, a strange feeling of bitterness spreading through him.

"You can sound more apologetic about it." Hansol said as he rolled his eyes.

Mingyu sighed. "I am really sorry about it but I'm not going to make excuses about it. I honestly didn't know that it would make Wonwoo cry. I thought he would be angry and maybe a bit upset. But that last night? It wasn't a scenario I was prepared for." He clenched his fists. "I felt so worthless as I watched him cry last night. Those tears were my fault and I didn't know what to do to make it right."

"Well first of all, you don't leave the person that you hurt alone in bed." Mingyu turned to see Wonwoo with his arms across his chest. He tried to hide his nose but he saw the exact moment that the older noticed it, eyes widening at the sight. "What the hell happened to your nose?!"

"Busted." Hansol muttered under his breath. Mingyu rolled his eyes.

"Sol, did you do this?" Wonwoo asked, stepping closer to Mingyu, brows furrowing as he took a look at the younger's nose. "Oh, baby, it looks horrible."

"Thanks for the confidence boost." Mingyu muttered sarcastically.

Wonwoo hit his shoulder. "Shut up. It's too early for your sarcasm."

"And it's too early to get beaten up." The younger said with a pout. "Hansol got his violent tendencies from you."

Wonwoo chuckled, kissing Mingyu's cheek. "Don't worry, baby. You're still handsome for me." He frowned at the younger's nose again. "I don't think I can do much about that now. I can make us breakfast though? What do you want?"

"It's way too early for cheesy stuff like this." Hansol exclaimed dramatically. "I'm leaving."

"Yah, have you eaten?" Wonwoo asked. "Wait, have you apologized for punching Mingyu? Why did you even punch him?" The older looked sincerely confused that Mingyu was certain that his boyfriend didn't know just how much others cared for him.

Hansol gave his hyung a look, running up to Wonwoo for a quick hug. "Yes and no. Definitely not apologizing. Chan and I might watch a movie later. I'll text you! Bye!"

"Yah!" Wonwoo called out, sighing deeply when the younger just continued running out of the door. "This child."

"Is he and Chan going out?" Mingyu asked, pulling the older in his arms. He hooked his chin on Wonwoo's shoulder, enjoying the feeling of his boyfriend's warmth against his chest.

Wonwoo pursed his lips. "I'm not really sure to be honest. Hansol has been more... protective of Chan recently so maybe?" He shrugged, leaning back into Mingyu. "You feel nice. You should give me a back hug more often."

The younger chuckled. "I promise but can I be injury free next time?"

"Oh. Right." Wonwoo squirmed until Mingyu let go of him so he could face his boyfriend. "I should have made Hansol apologize. Does it hurt?"

"It doesn't hurt much anymore. Now at least. Seriously, how could that kid be that strong? He doesn't look like he has muscles." Mingyu complained.

"I... I take offend for that for my brother's sake." Wonwoo said with a frown. "Well, now you know that looks can be deceiving." He playfully tapped Mingyu's nose, laughing when it made the other wince. "You're such a big baby."

Mingyu just pouted, huffing when Wonwoo just patted his head before getting started on breakfast. The older moved easily at the kitchen, obviously at ease and Mingyu couldn't help but wonder how many people Wonwoo had cooked for looking like this, all soft and sleep rumpled. He was experiencing this by pure luck; what happened last night was enough to get him kicked out of the apartment after all by the older. But he didn't.

"Why didn't you kick me out last night?" Mingyu asked gently.

Wonwoo stopped whisking the egg, turning around to look at the younger before facing back and continuing. "Did you want me to?"

"Of course not and that isn't an answer." The younger replied, frowning slightly.

Wonwoo didn't answer him and just shrugged before frying the eggs. Mingyu waited, thinking that the older would answer him after a while but there was still nothing. It was sort of frustrating watching the other move around so indifferently as if Mingyu wasnt staring at him the entire time.

Besides frustration, there was also surprise and wonder at how much Mingyu wanted to hear what Wonwoo had to say. He wanted to talk about what happened properly and it was so strange. Mingyu was the type to just wait for the problem to pass or wait for the other to take the initiative in dealing with it.

"Are you just going to keep staring at me?" Wonwoo asked after he finished cooking.

Mingyu shrugged. "Until you answer me properly, yes."

"This isn't a sign of being emotionally constipated." The older said as he raised his eyebrows. He cut up a piece of bacon, feeding it to Mingyu.

"Thanks." Mingyu said as he chewed. He looked at Wonwoo, feeding the older as well. "Don't distract me with food by the way."

"I'm not. I just wanted to feed you." Wonwoo smirked. "Don't think so bad of me, babe."

Mingyu rolled his eyes. "Going back to what you said, this is weird for me too. You make me weird. You make me want to talk things through." He paused when he realized how serious his statement was and saw that the older was frozen as well. "Y-yeah. I mean Jihoon hyung would be proud of me right now." He joked lightly.

"Oh, Mingyu." Wonwoo said softly, putting his fork down to cup his cheek as he stared at Mingyu. "Do you mean that?"

The younger fiddled in his seat, a blush starting to appear on his cheeks. "Don't look at me like that."

"Like what hm?"

"You're looking at me with those intense eyes again. It's like you can see through my soul and I... I should feel weirded out by it but I'm not. I should want to look away but i.... I well, I don't." Mingyu admitted, looking at Wonwoo straight in the eye.

Wonwoo reached out, lacing their hands together. "No one's telling you to look away." He gave Mingyu's hand a gentle squeeze. "That doesn't mean I completely forgive you okay? I'm still mad at you."

"You are?" Mingyu asked, seriously surprised and confused.

Wonwoo gave him a look. "Gyu, just because I didn't kick you out it means it's okay." He smiled. "It just means that well, I don't want to lose you and I'm willing to look past this for now."

Mingyu sighed. "I am honestly feeling a bit uncomfortable. This is... so open? How do people do this?"

"You're ruining the moment, Kim. Shut up."

"Oh, sorry." Mingyu said, smiling sheepishly.

Wonwoo rolled his eyes. "Anyway, where was I? Oh right. Mingyu, what you did actually hurt but you didn't even think it would. You said you had a boyfriend before right? You've never encountered this problem before?"

"My ex basically said that I didn't have any emotions so I don't think so?" He sighed. "Wonwoo, my previous relationship really doesn't count like one. We dated just because we happened to like each other. Thinking back to it, maybe I really didn't care about him as much as I thought I did."

Wonwoo sighed as well before putting on a pout. "Part of me is happy that at least now you care about me enough to want to talk about this properly and part of me is annoyed that you couldn't have waited for me so you could gave a proper first relationship."

Mingyu chuckled as he rolled his eyes. "What about yours then? Did you ever experience this before?"

"No." Wonwoo said flatly. Mingyu couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the tone the other used. "I never experienced this."

Mingyu nodded silently, wondering if he should ask more about it. He was really curious about the older's relationship before. There was no question about who was more experienced than him and he was worried that Wonwoo would get tired of his lack of experience. It wasn't like there was a manual he could follow either.

"You have your thinking face on." Wonwoo commented after the silence stretched for a while. "You better not be thinking about your ex."

"I'm not. I was thinking about yours." Mingyu said honestly.

 Wonwoo raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"He was your first right? How long did you guys go out?"

"Mingyu..."

The younger steeled himself. "Wonwoo, I want to know."

Wonwoo looked at him for a long while before answering. "Five years."

"Oh my God." Mingyu gasped out.

Wonwoo was staring at him, face unreadable while Mingyu processed what the older said. He had expected that the relationship lasted long but not that long. He couldn't imagine being with someone for that long. Wonwoo had someone else for five years, that long time of looking at someone else the same way he looked at Mingyu and five years of having someone take care of Wonwoo that was definitely not Mingyu. It gave him a weirdly unpleasant feeling; for sure, he wouldn't be able to forget this information even when he tried.

"Mingyu, you're starting to look pale." Wonwoo said, taking the younger's hand. "Breathe for me, baby."

Mingyu gaped at the older, clutching Wonwoo's hand tightly.

Wonwoo seemed to get what the younger needed as he crossed over to the other side of the table. He pulled Mingyu into his arms, pressing kisses on the younger's head while drawing circles on his back. Mingyu felt embarrassed but he was too busy clinging to Wonwoo to really care. How could he compete with five years of relationship?

"Mingyu, he's my ex and you're my boyfriend now. I don't care about him anymore, okay? You're the only one I look at." Wonwoo said when Mingyu calmed down a bit.

"Just me?" Mingyu asked in a small voice.

"Just you." Wonwoo said, smiling before leaning in to kiss Mingyu.

There was still something nagging at the back of his mind, most likely his curiosity, but for now, Mingyu wanted to drown himself in this feeling. Wonwoo must have understood what he needed since he continued on kissing Mingyu, not even complaining when the younger wouldn't let him pull away. The two of them were gasping hard after their make out session. They had somehow ended up on the floor without Mingyu noticing.

"T-that was quite something." Wonwoo panted out, nuzzling his head on the younger's neck. "Are you some kind of swimmer? How could you not breathe for that long?"

"Maybe I'm just a naturally good kisser." Mingyu boasted, caressing the older's back. Now that he wasn't kissing Wonwoo, he could feel a slight pain on his lower back where he must have fallen when they went to the floor.

The older hummed. "Or that. Glad you're my boyfriend then."

Mingyu tipped his back when Wonwoo started kissing his neck. "Don't you ever forget that."

"I'm pretty sure I won't."

Mingyu gently pushed the older away, cupping Wonwoo's chin while staring into the other's eyes. "You're mine now okay? I don't care if you spent five years of life with whoever your ex was. Just look at me and only me."

Wonwoo blushed, cheeks completely red as he nodded slightly. "I'm yours."

"And I know you're mad at me but I promise I will make it up to you. I'll do whatever you want so stay with me. Please?"

"Even saying please." Wonwoo nodded. "I'll stay with you, baby. No worries about that."

Mingyu smiled, drinking in the sight of Wonwoo right now. His boyfriend looked so beautiful with that blush on his face that the younger just found himself leaning in to kiss the older again. Wonwoo was his and he would do everything to make sure it stayed that way.

--

When Mingyu got kicked out of Wonwoo's apartment by a sulking Hansol because apparently Chan had an exam the next day and couldn't make their 'it's not a date' date, he saw that Doyoon was just coming back from class. He considered hiding but when the older was already running towards him.

"Mingyu!" Doyoon called out dramatically. "You've been gone the whole day yesterday! I was about to call the cops!"

"Hyung, please tell me you didn't. Please." Mingyu said, frowning slightly when Doyoon just clung to him. "Hyuuuung~"

"What? You didn't care if I was a monkey before!" He pouted before his eyes fell on Mingyu's neck. "Gyu?"

" Yeah?"

"Is your boyfriend a vampire because those hickeys are so... prominent?" Doyoon said as he pulled back a playful smirk on his face

Mingyu smiled, tracing the marks he had. "Is it too much?" He shrugged before the other could answer. "I don't care anyway. I like it."

"Look at you. You're so whipped." Doyoon chuckled, punching Mingyu's arm playfully.

The younger laughed. "Guess I am."

"Ugh and you're not even denying it." Doyoon rolled his eyes.

The two of them made their way up to their units, Doyoon talking about how worried he was when Mingyu just ran away yesterday. Mingyu grinned, feeling a slight distance and he felt relieved about it. If there was ever a doubt about how he felt for Doyoon, it was surely gone now. Doyoon was still as touchy as ever but just the image of Wonwoo crying again made Mingyu pull away.

"I'm guessing you got nagged at by your boyfriend?" Doyoon said when they stopped in front of his unit.

Mingyu scoffed. "I wish. It would have been better if he did get mad instead."

"Sounds like you need time to tell me this." Doyoon said, unlocking his door. "Come in? I promise not to flirt with you or something. You might be totally bruised if I do."

Mingyu laughed, pushing Doyoon inside when the door opened. The interior of the unit wasn't that much different from his but it was more bare with just the minimum amount of furniture and pictures. Unlike Mingyu's unit though, Doyoon had a veranda which was where Mingyu headed. He pushed the screen aside, taking a deep breath of fresh air, listening to Doyoon rummaging around in the kitchen.

"I didn't have chips sorry. I made us sandwiches though!" Doyoon grinned, placing the plate on the floor before sitting down beside it.

"I'm pretty sure you do; you just don't want me eating them." Mingyu said, rolling his eyes when the older nodded before taking a seat on the other side of the sandwiches.

Doyoon picked up one sandwich, eating it before turning to Mingyu. "So, what did you mean earlier?"

Mingyu sighed, pulling his knees to his chest. "I made him cry, hyung. It was that one thing I promised that I said I would never ever break but I did."

"Why did he cry?" Doyoon asked, brows furrowing. "What did you even do?"

"Er, Jihoon hyung may or may not have said something indirectly? And I may or may not have admitted to it?"

Doyoon gave him an unimpressed look, leaning his head on his knee. "Jihoon really does hate me, doesn't he? Don't answer that." He looked at Mingyu. "That's sort of unfair for you though. You are his friend and he shouldn't have well, back stabbed you."

"I don't think he was backstabbing me. Hyung has a tendency to rant or mutter when he's upset and he had a fight with Soonyoung hyung so I get it." Mingyu defended.

"Is Soonyoung okay? Wait, so that was why Jisoo looked bothered in class today." Doyoon hummed. "The dating squad is facing troubles huh."

"Stop calling us that." Mingyu stuck his tongue out. "Junghan and Jisoo hyung are still okay though."

"Jisoo wouldn't let Junghan slip away. How long have they been dating?"

"I think since their freshmen year so almost 3 years." Mingyu's eyes widened. "Oh my God, why is everyone in a relationship for so long?"

Doyoon laughed. "I was with someone for seven years, Gyu. Technically." He shrugged. "I counted when we had a crush on each other."

"S-seven years?! You?!" Mingyu spluttered. He didn't think Doyoon would be the committed type.

Doyoon gave an offended sound. "What is that supposed to mean?!" He laughed when the younger started apologizing. "Nah, I'm kidding. I knew you would be surprised." He hummed, leaning against the wall with a thoughtful look on his face. "He was my everything before I became stupid and got scared of it."

"Scared of what?" Mingyu asked curiously. He was starting to see Doyoon differently, like maybe as someone who could actually give him relationship advice.

"All of it. Seven years together is a very long time, Mingyu. I got so used to being together that I didn't want anyone else around him. I became so possessive and then when I realized what I was doing, I panicked." Doyoon sighed deeply. "When I went home one day, my mom asked me if I was planning on marrying him. I think that was when I got really scared. It made sense though, didn't it? Seven years of being together and a couple more then bam, marriage."

Mingyu tilted his head, processing what his hyung said carefully. "Did he say no when you asked him to marry you?"

Doyoon laughed humorlessly and Mingyu saw that some tears were falling from the other's eyes. "Oh God, I don't even know why I'm crying." He sniffed. "He didn't say no."

Mingyu patted his hyung's head, chuckling when Doyoon pushed it away. "Then what happened? You got engaged and?"

"Gyu, we didn't get engaged. I didn't even ask him." Doyoon raised up his hand looking at his ring finger. "It's my biggest what if in life honestly. What if I had asked? What if we were married now or at least engaged? What if I didn't get scared and ran away?"

"What do you mean by ran away?"

Doyoon looked at Mingyu as if he forgot that the younger was there. "Oh, I literally ran away."

"What?!"

"I didn't just transfer to Pledis; I transferred back. I was here until the start of sophomore year then I just... bailed out."

Mingyu nodded before his eyes widened. "Wait, does that mean your ex might still be studying here?"

"Yeah, he's still studying here. I,uh, asked his mom when I went home. It was hard to find out; his dad nearly shot me but in the end, his mom told me anyway." Doyoon said, wiping away the last of his tears. "I still haven't found him though. He shifted courses."

Mingyu patted Doyoon's back. "I'll help you! I'm sure the others wouldn't mind helping as well."

"I don't want to make it that much of a big deal though." He chuckled. "Let fate do its magic."

Mingyu rolled his eyes. The two of them drifted onto different topics after that but Doyoon still had that thoughtful look on his face. After a lull of silence, Mingyu excused himself and went back to his unit but his thoughts were plagued with what Doyoon had told him.

Now that he thought about it, some of the weird things Doyoon did actually made sense. Whenever they ate out, the older would look around the place as if looking for someone and his eyes were always fixed on the door, only to end up feeling disappointed after they left. Junghan and Jisoo had taken to teasing each other about marriage and Doyoon would stiffen before going back to normal. Mingyu actually thought the older had a crush on Jisoo since Doyoon would look longingly at him whenever they talked about that. It must be difficult seeing someone with what you could have had.

He was snapped out of his thoughts when his phone vibrated and when he saw who it was, all thoughts of Doyoon went out the window.

From: Freaking Cute Guy with a Deep Voice Wonwoo

Hey!

Sorry Hansol kicked you out

He's done sulking

To: Freaking Cute Guy with a Deep Voice Wonwoo

Nah it's okay

I'd sulk if you bailed out on our date as well :(

From: Freaking Cute Guy with a Deep Voice Wonwoo

I would never bail on you, baby.

You don't have to worry about that :)

To: Freaking Cute Guy with a Deep Voice Wonwoo

Promise?

Mingyu waited for the reply, frowning when a minute passed and there was still none. Wonwoo usually replied really quickly unless he was working. Mingyu nearly jumped for the phone when he saw the older calling.

"You haven't replied to me." Mingyu whined immediately after answering.

Wonwoo chuckled. "You really need to be taught proper phone manners." He chuckled again when Mingyu just whined longer. "I called because texting isn't enough to get what I'm going to say across."

"Okay? How long is your answer?" Mingyu asked though he knew what the older meant. He could already feel the butterflies getting ready to flutter around his stomach.

"I will never ever bail out on you, Kim Mingyu. I don't just promise you that; I vow on it."

"Wonwoo..." The older's name was the only thing he could say. He was speechless at how sincere Wonwoo sounded and along with that deep voice of his, Mingyu felt his knees going weak.

"You're stuck with me, baby, whether you like it or not."

Mingyu chuckled at the stupid notion. How could he not like anything about it? "I think I can survive that, baby."

The younger heard Wonwoo's breath hitch and when Wonwoo spoke, his voice had gotten huskier. "You have no idea what you do to me, Mingyu. No idea at all."

Mingyu closed his eyes, a shiver running through him. He could imagine Wonwoo whispering the words into his ear and he longed for the other's arms around him again. He missed how warm and safe he felt in those arms.

Wonwoo was wrong; he was the one that didn't have an idea just what he did to Mingyu.
