Kyungsoo leaned on his seat, it had been five days, still no since of their baby girl, Sehun’s temperament had gotten worse, most of his meetings were cancelled, while Mark had been trying to talk to Lay to comfort the older male.

Lay had it bad, he was blaming himself, if only he listened to her. If only he tried to hear her out, this would never have happened.

They arrived at the police department just an hour ago, while Sehun had not come with them, Mark, Lay, Luhan and Chen were with them.

“Hyung,” Kyungsoo sat up as Changmin entered the room.

“We know where they’re hiding her. And we have eyewitnesses.”

Changmin switched on the projector.

“Gyeonggi-do.” Mark murmured, before Lay could move Changmin stopped him.

“Before we do anything, I need you to be calm. We’ve sent special forces to get Gu Li, but we’re not sure if those men who took her are armed or not.”

“Calm?” Lay almost spat, then they heard a distinctive shutter of a camera, they all turned to Chen.

“What? I just took a photo for Kris hyung to see.”

“Don’t send it!” Luhan balked, then Chen paused.

“It’s already sent.”

“Oh .” Mark shook his head.

Jill was with her pet, Maxie in Kris’s office, the little girl felt better when she was with her father, it made her feel that Gu Li was coming back safely and that nothing was wrong.

Then the doors opened, Kris stepped in with a bag of cookies and a milkshake for her.

“Thanks, pa.” She grinned as Kris set them on the table.

“I just finished my meeting, how are you and Maxie doing?”

“Great, but your phone has been pinging.”

Kris pinched her cheek before walking to his table, Jill glanced at him as she heard her father mutter something in Chinese.

“Secretary Noh, have the helicopter prepared in ten minutes.” He barked at the intercom, Jill looked up.

“What’s wrong, daddy?”

Kris sat beside her, but his eyes looked distant.

“They found her, and I need you to stay here, okay? I’ll have ahjussi pick you up.” Kris kissed her forehead before setting off.

Gu Li winced as she tried to sit up, a thick rope that bruised her wrist tied her hands and she could feel the blood from her forehead dry up on her skin.

“Well, look at you.”

She opened her eyes, Dongmin was smiling at her.

“Aren’t you such a doll?” He mused again.

“My family’s going to kill you.” She spat, he cackled.

“Not if I kill you first.”

His men behind him laughed.

“You see, Gu Li~” Dongmin knelt beside her and slapped her again. She winced.

“I enjoy violence, and you don’t. In fact you breakdown at the sight of it.”

For the past five days, Dongmin’s men brought women in their hiding place and purposely hurt them in front of her, out of the six women, they even killed four in front of her very own eyes.

“This is what you get, princess, for trying to hurt my sister.” Dongmin slapped her before pushing her down.

Then her world became black again.

Lay watched from the window of the black SUV as the SWAT team approached the warehouse, Kyungsoo has refused to be left at the city and now the younger male was sitting beside him, tensed and worried.

“She’s going to be alright.” Lau reassured himself.

“She better be.” Kyungsoo nodded.

Then they both noticed a helicopter land just a few yards away from them.

“He’s here.” Lay nodded.

“People talk about Gu Li, they call her the Zhang Empire’s princess, I don’t think she is. She’s a queen, hyung. And this guy, Kris, he’s the right man for her.” Kyungsoo nodded. Lay couldn’t help but nod back.

Changmin couldn’t help but smile with glee as he saw Dongmin fall down with a bullet in his knee, but then he froze when he saw Gu Li, lying on the floor, bruised and bloodied.

“Sir, we’ve found those.” One of his men pointed towards something away from them.

“What~” Changmin cursed as he saw the bodies of women carelessly thrown away.

“That explains the smell, sir.”

“Get the medical team, we need to get her out of here.” Changmin ordered before kneeling beside Gu Li and lifting her up.

Changmin stepped out with Gu Li still in his arms, he couldn’t imagine what the girl saw before she lost consciousness. He winced, he knew about Gu Li’s trauma, his insides churned at the thought of Dongmin and his men.

“I’ll take her.”

He looked up, Kris was standing before him, he nodded and placed Gu Li on his waiting arms.

“Kris,”

The younger male looked at him.

“Something happened in there.” Changmin shook his head.

“We found dead bodies in the warehouse, I don’t know if Gu Li saw how..they died, but this will affect her…so much.”

Kris just silently nodded before walking away from him.
