The Game Changer“Are you sure about this?” Mark asked from the other line, Gu Li smiled as she stepped on the pedal.
“I mean, Kyungsoo’s at a meeting, I have no one to talk you out of driving alone.”
“I know, the last time I did that…” She winced.
“Well, let’s not talk about that.”
“I bet Lay hyung and you argued before you left.”
“Of course.” She mused.
“Well, call me if anything happens.”
“Got it, thanks.”
Jill smiled as they stepped in the room, she glanced up at Kris before taking one of the shopping bags with her.
They were at Sunshine Foster Home, every two months they always visited the place to bring some food and clothes for the children. It was Jill’s idea to do these visits, she figured that she was lucky to still have family even thought her parents died, she wanted the other kids to be happy as she was. Kris smiled as his daughter came dashing towards the other kids and started sharing stories with them.
“It’s nice to see you again, mister Wu.” Mrs. Shin walked to him, she was one of the caretakers of the place.
“How are they doing?” Kris asked.
“Well, the children are doing better, thank you for providing the scholarships for them.”
He smiled.
“You should thank Jill, it was all her idea.”
“Your daughter has a warm heart.”
Gu Li slid down from her Audi and looked at the two-floor house, she was dressed simply in a white v-neck shirt, jeans and a pair of sneakers.
“Welcome, miss Zhang!”
She smiled as the older lady ushered her in.
“We also have some people visiting us today.”
“Really? That’s good then~” She paused at the doorway.
Her fingers curled around the strap of her bag, she felt her chest tighten.
“Mister Wu, this is miss Gu Li, she~”
Kris looked up and paused.
“Oh, I know her, ahjumma.” He nodded, Gu Li nodded and stepped in the room, the kids looked at her.
“Children, this is Gu Li, she’s a friend of mine and Jill’s.” Kris told them, the children smiled at her.
“I—I actually brought some toys.” Gu Li pulled up the two bags she was bringing.
“Unnie, you’re here!” Jill ran to her, she smiled and hugged the girl.
“Well, I was trying to get away from the city.” She smiled and cupped her cheeks.
Kris found her drinking a cup of coffee at the garden, the children were all playing inside the rooms.
“Please tell me someone drove you here.” He started as he sat beside her.
She shook her head.
“I’m afraid I cant say that.” She replied, Kris nodded.
Gu Li glanced at him.
“Oh my god, I just remembered telling people I’m pregnant.” She balked, Kris blinked at her.
“Yes, you did that. But you weren’t.” He replied.
“I know…I just..” Gu Li bit her lip and faced him.
“You…you’re different. You make me nervous at the same time..calm.”
“We’ve known each other~”
She shook her head and ran her fingers through her hair.
“I hate this.” She cursed under her breath, Kris was about to reach for her shoulder, his brows met briefly then he put his hand down.
“I know that I know you, but…I can’t point out how..why…” She looked up, her brows still furrowed.
“Li, it’s not good forcing yourself. I’m a friend, you trusted me with your secrets and plans to disrupt Lay’s wedding~”
“I remember that. I hated her a lot.”
Kris couldn’t help but smile, then Gu Li suddenly sat up, she stood in front of him wit curious eyes.
“But, can you let me do this one thing?”
“What?” He asked.
“Something’s telling me that I should have done this ever since I saw you again.”
Kris was about to reply but Gu Li just simply wrapped her arms around his neck tightly, he paused before wrapping his arms around her.
