The Game Changer
“I hate her, she thinks my s and are fake!”
Kyungsoo winced, Mark chuckled.
“Wow, this reminds me why I shouldn’t have missed you while you were gone.” DO muttered, Gu Li rolled her eyes.
“So, CEO Zhang~” Mark winced as Gu Li threw her napkin at him, she proceeded to eat her noodles.
“That’s your reason for hating her? She thought…those..were fake?” DO asked.
“Ani, I just…don’t think she’s the right girl for Lay.”
“You said that six years ago, after you met his first girlfriend.” Mark nodded while picking on his katsudon.
“Yes, and look what happened? That girl paid someone to kidnap Lay and they split the ransom money.” Gu Li put down her chopsticks and tapped her fingers on the table softly.
“You know it’s not a smart move to act up now, miss Zhang.” DO warned.
“Oh, I know that. I just want to test her.”
“I’m starting to feel bad for this Chaerin person.” DO nodded.
“I think it’s going to be fun.” Mark chuckled.
Mark was the total ride or die buddy, whereas Kyungsoo was always cautious and skeptical.
“Dibs on you ending up in trouble.” DO nodded, Gu Li chuckled.
“Well, we have a bet here.”
Gu Li stepped out of the house, she was dressed in a pair of jeans and a white shirt. She put on her earphones as she started to walk.
“Gu Li?”
She turned, it was Xiumin, he was in his car and he had stopped beside her.
“Hi, ge.” She smiled.
“Off to somewhere?”
“Not really, just listlessly walking, you?”
“Lay didn’t tell you?”
“It’s Tao’s birthday, we’re having barbeque at his place, get in.” Xiumin nodded at her.
“Ge, it’s~”
“Just get in, I think Lay just forgot to tell you.”
Tao opened the door and beamed at Xiumin and Gu Li.
“I knew it, Lay ge forgot to tell you.” Tao nodded
Gu Li nodded and they stepped in Tao’s house, she found Lay waving at her.
“I know, I’m sorry I forgot.” He winced.
“Huh.” Gu Li nodded, she felt Tao loop his arms around hers.
“Hey, get your hands off my~”
“Let’s not go there, Yixing.” Gu Li rolled her eyes, Tao chuckled and led her to the living room.
“Gu Li jie’s here!” Tao announced, Chen waved her over.
Kris looked up and paused, it was his first time seeing her in such normal clothes.
“Hello, mei.” Luhan grinned at her, Lay joined them in the living room.
“So, how was shopping?” Lay asked her.
“I bought a whole store.” Gu Li nodded as she picked up a glass of juice from the table, Lay paused.
“Really?”
Gu Li nodded.
“I needed office clothes, CEO remember?”
Kris couldn’t help but chuckle.
Gu Li stood up from her seat, they were eating out at the garden, and the guys were chatting merrily amongst themselves.
“Unnie, hi.” Jill greeted her as she stepped in the house.
“You’re not scared being alone?” Gu Li smiled as she walked by her, Jill shook her head.
“I’m an only child, even now.”
Gu Li blinked, she almost forgot Kris telling her that legally he was her daughter, but technically she was his niece.
She blinked.
“I~”
“Having fun?”
She looked up, Kris was standing by the patio doors, Jill smiled and put down her book. She ran to her uncle and leapt in his arms, Kris chuckled as he lifted Jill up.
Gu Li smiled at the two.
“You look bothered.” Kris commented, she glanced at him.
“Well, you tell me, I just got home a week ago, now I’m appointed CEO.”
Kris nodded; Gu Li plopped on the couch.
“What were you expecting to do when you went here anyway?” He asked.
“Hmm, get Chaerin away from my cousin, but really at first I was just curious about their engagement, then I met her. So…bam.” She shrugged, Kris nodded again.
Jill wriggled out of his arms and ran to Luhan at the garden.
“Does it make you nervous?” Kris asked her hesitantly.
“Being CEO? Ani.(No.)”
He paused.
“Then what are you so bothered about?” He asked her.
“What if that two faced woman becomes my cousin-in-law.”
