"Kai..?" You whispered quietly. 

You couldn't believe it. Kai was curled up, his knees raised up to his chin, his face in his hands. Crying. You grew worried and confused of what could of possibly happened to make him like this. 

He didn't answer you and continued to cry in his hands. You slowly took a few steps forward towards him. He didn't look up at you, so you slowly sat down beside him. 

"K-Kai.. W-what's wrong?" You stuttered nervously. You didn't know what to say. 

He suddenly wrapped his arm around you and pulled you into his embrace. Your eyes widened in shock and you tried to move back, but he pulled you forward again. He sobbed quietly over your shoulder and hugged you tightly. You sighed and slowly raised your arms and wrapped them around his torso. Patting his back gently. 

After a few silent moments, Kai slowly calmed himself down. But refused to let you go. 

"Kai.. What happened?" You asked as you leaned back to look at him. 

He reluctantly let you go and slowly looked up into your eyes. Your eyes widened at the sight. His beautiful face was beaten and bruised, his eyes were red and puffy from the crying. 

Seeing him like this scared you. He was always strong and the unbreakable type of guy, nothing could break him. But now.. Seeing him like this. Something bad had happened. You knew it. 

"Kai.. Answer me.. Please.." You pleaded. But he didn't answer you. He continued to stare into your eyes emotionless. Time felt like it had stopped. All you saw was Kai and those hurt eyes of his, nothing else.

"He.. He hit me.." Kai stuttered as the images of his father beating him and his mother screaming with blood in her hands flushed his mind.

"Who?! Who did?!" You placed your arms on both of Kai's shoulders, slightly shaking him to look at you as he was slowly drifting off into his thoughts.

"Father.." His tone changed and his eyes burned with anger. 

"M-Mr. K-Kim?" You stuttered and looked into Kai's eyes. Hoping you had heard wrong.

"Yes." He sighed and lowered his head in shame.

"I-I thought h-he was away?" Your voice shook like crazy. 

Mr. Kim had been on one of his business trips for the past two weeks. Whenever he was back, you would never seen him because he would only return during the day while you and Kai were at school. But then he would disappear again by the evening.  

After what he had done to you last time, you were frightened by the thought of having to live with such a horrible man. But with the help of Kai and Mrs. Kim, you were able to avoid him. To the extent you had forgotten his existence. Well, that was until now.

"I thought he was too.. But-." Kai stopped for a moment when the image of what he had came home to earlier, came to the surface.

"But..?" 

"He was here. When I came home.. He was drunk." Kai's burning eyes softened and tears began to fill them again, "He hurt her Hyo Jin.. He hurt her.." Kai placed his face into his hands to hide his tears. You had never seen Kai this way, you quickly wrapped your arms around him and he leaned into you. You hated seeing him this way, you wanted him to be his annoying self. No matter how annoying, anything but this.

"He's gone now.. right..?" You asked worriedly, after Kai had calmed down. 
   
"I don't know." He simply replied before leaning back from your embrace and looking at you. 

"Aish.. Look at this bruise.." You rubbed his cheek with your thumb unknowingly. He stared at you with an unreadable expression. Your thumb slowed to a stop once you realized what you were doing. You were flustered by your own actions and went to move your hand away, but Kai grabbed a hold of it. He gently held it by his cheek and continued to look into your eyes. 

You began to watch his eyes and noticed his breathing slowing. You felt yourself being drawn into his large dark orbs. Your eyes trailed down to his plump lips and you saddened when you noticed the cut on his bottom lip. Those lips, they slowly inched closer to yours, you couldn't take your eyes off of them. Your mind was saying no, but your body was saying yes. 

You felt Kai's calm warm breath brushing against your lush pink lips. Oh how badly you wanted to feel his against yours. *No! No Hyo Jin. This is wrong.* You continued to repeat to yourself, but your body didn't seem to listen.

You looked up and met eyes with Kai. You stared at each other for a moment and you felt the space between the two of you was almost next to nothing. He stopped inching closer and continued to stare into your eyes. He wanted you to make the last move. You knew that. You looked down and saw his lips, patiently waiting for yours. 

*I can't! No, I shouldn't!* No matter how much you scolded yourself. Your body didn't listen. You grew frustrated with the wait and you closed your eyes against your own will, waiting for the big moment to feel his lips against yours. 

*Ring. Ring.* 

Your eyes shot open and you quickly jumped back. Kai sighed and slowly stood up from the floor. You did the same and looked over at the bed sheets, where Kai's phone sat. Buzzing and echoing it's loud ringtone throughout the room.

Kai picked it up and answered it without looking at the caller. He was frustrated as hell and he couldn't believe he was getting interrupted in this moment again. 

"What?" He asked coldly.

"Yah! Where the hell are you?! You bailing on us again?!" Baekhyun yelled through the phone. 

"You.." Kai growled and turned to look at you. You looked away flustered and you felt your cheeks reddening. Your heart was beating rapidly, you were loosing control of your own body. You were thankful to whoever that it was on the other line. They saved you from a regretful decision. Not that it was much of a decision. Your body wasn't li
