offering pt 7

My wish is Sowon

Sowon was in front of Yerin's front door when they woke up that morning, how long she had stood there, neither could figure out, but oddly, Sowon held out her hand stiffly towards Eunha.

"Good morning."

Eunha stared at the hand, taking just as long to consider taking it as she had done the previous time, but she reacted when Yerin nudged her shoulder.

"Hey, take that hand, even if that's not how we humans greet mornings, but still."

Sowon wrinkled her eyebrows at Yerin's statement.

"You're poking fun at me aren't you?"

"Who said that? Hm? Not me."

Yerin laughed and clapped Sowon on the shoulder in an over friendly way that had Eunha uncomfortable that Yerin could just go and hit a vampire of such power so carelessly, but she quietly reminded herself that Sowon wasn't like her father as she had provne several times already.

"Unnie, I think you should take Eunha to the river to wash up."

"Her wounds are already closed? I can still smell the blood on her-"

"It's closed. Now make sure she scrubs all that dead skin off, then you won't have to worry about the blood smell, right?"

Sowon shut and offered her hand to Eunha once more, who still took it, very slowly. Leading the way to the river, Sowon also retrieved several towels from her hut along the way as Yerin yelled out precautions after them, even if Sowon could prbably still hear her words perfectly clearly all the way at the river, it was more for Eunha to listen to.

"Are you feeling alright?"

Eunha hesitantly nodded. Sowon was going to ask her to say her answer aloud, but figured that at least Eunha had nodded much faster than before.

"I'm sorry."

This caught Eunha's attention and she looked up immediately. There was nothing that Sowon had done to Eunha that warranted an apology, in fact, Eunha was already considering groveling on the ground to beg for forgiveness for the time she tried to take a knife to Sowon's skin.

"I have a slight super hearing, so I heard what your father did."

Eunha flinched and scooted back a half step before managing to root herself from being anymore rude to Sowon.

"You don't have to worry about him anymore. If you choose to live here, you can learn from Yerin on how to defend yourself. The human village where you came from have never come this far into the forest and up the river."

Eunha squirmed a little on her spot and she hesitantly held the hem of Sowon's sleeve.

"Wh-what do you mean by choose?"

Sowon scratched her neck awkwardly, not that she ever had itches as a vampire, but the humanlike expression of herself was probably from her previous life and engrained in her muscle memory.

"Well, usually I teach a girl something to send them off to do whatever they want to. See, because I've been around for a good amount of time, I know a lot. The last girl I sent to China, wanted to learn how to weave beautiful clothes. Most of the girls in the village are wearing her practice handiworks as well as some of her apprentices before she chose to mvoe to China completely to run her business."

Eunha was still confused. If she chose to, she could stay in the village, but if she chose to learn some trade, then where would she stay if she didn't need to go to China or Japan or somewhere far?

"Where...do you teach them?"

"Well, back at my house. Which I understand you have a fear of your father, and well, being close to the village again would be a bad choice I guess. Either way, it's up to you."

Eunha looked down at the ground as she thought about it. Having lived without a choice, only to struggle to survive as long as she did, this was like a dream. One that she would wake up from with her body covered in bruises and soaking wet from being woken up with fresh cold well water. A slight movement from her hand reminded her that she was still holding onto Sowon's sleeve, she instinctively let go.

"Are you okay to wash yourself?"

"I think so."

Sowon gave a small smile at her verbal response, Eunha couldn't help but feel funny at the sight. She hurried to strip herself to distract from the weird feeling and splashed herself with the cold water from the river, Sowon handing her a small but helpful bucket to scoop with.

"Don't take too long, or you'll catch a cold."

Eunha looked around her for a little while, using a small cloth that Sowon ahd also chucked at her from behind a tree to scrub at her skin. Her back was sore from the injuries, but there wasn't anymore stinging, which meant that Yerin was telling the truth that they had healed enough. However, it was her back, and she couldn't quite see her own back very well, so when she had walked back to shore, Sowon sighed a little and moved out from behind the tree where she sat to give Eunha her privacy. Originally she had sat there to make sure Eunha didn't run into any trouble, running away or wild animals, and well privacy, but Eunha still smelled a little like dried blood. For the sake of her nose and sanity, she needed to help wash Eunha's back.

"Sit down on this rock, cover your front with the towel. It'll be warmer than without."

Eunha obeyed silently, flinching when Sowon's hands caressed her back, it was a defensive reflex that Sowon knew to let calm down before continuing. She left her hands on Eunha's back as she waited for her heartrate to smooth out again, as she waited, she also remembered that her own body temperature was probably cold to Eunha's bare skin. She needed to finish this quickly before Eunha actually contracts a cold.

Eunha shivered as Sowon pressed the cleaning towel against her back, rubbing at her marred skin. Even if she were to hope that they wouldn't scar, many have already been far too mistreated to revert. She shrunk a little more in her seat, depreciating herself, no one likes ugly skin.

Sowon was slowly losing herself to the scent of Eunha, although Eunha's blood scent was gone, Eunha was still slightly intoxicating to her somehow and Sowon didn't realize it until she had kissed the back of Eunha's neck, which caused a slight yelp.

"Ah, sorry. I'll go back over there. You can get dressed now."

Holding her hand over her nose, Sowon once more cursed that she was a vampire.
