offering pt 14

My wish is Sowon

Since a brat had decided to intrude on her territory, Sowon needed to make sure that no one else was going to try the same thing. How did they know that she was out of the house anyways? Either they had no fear and walked in whether she was there or not believing that they could defeat her, or they did know she was out.

Thinking about how nilly willy the rest of the citizens reacted to her presence, it was more likely that they visited hwen they knew they were going to survive, meaning she had to have left the house. Were they watching? From where? How?

Sniffing at the air, she could only distinguish a weird smoky scent, like a person who was near smoke all the time. This would sometimes be smelled on the wives of the lower class who had to cook for the family, or on the cooks of the higher class, the resulting smoky scent was because of having to be near the cooking fire for too long.

Clearing her thoughts momentarily, Sowon looked around, where did Eunha go? Walking through the main entryway and going to the rooms, she slowly opened each door to find that Eunha was in the room that Sowon had her stay in before, but sat in the corner.

"Why the corner?"

Eunha looked up quickly. She stood up, but Sowon stopped her before she stood completely so she sat back down.

"I wasn't tell you it was bad, just curious."

"..."

"Well, if you think it makes you feel safer there, I guess you could stay there. Just treat this like your- ah, not your last definition of house, but treat this whole house as your territory."

Sowon bit her lip, that was a set of awkward words to use. But she wanted Eunha to wander the place, do whatever she wanted. If shes had said 'treat it like your home', because of Eunha's last home, Eunha might have gone to find the storage and hide in there all day. Territory wasn't a bad word, right? Sowon kept thinking to herself how much worse she could be at talking with people when Eunha moved.

Now watching her, Sowon observed as Eunha scooted closer to her, but remained sat on the floor. Then she stayed there and seemed to stare at Sowon.

"Hn?"

Sowon stepped back a little. Eunha's eyes followed.

"Do you...want a pillow to sit on?"

The flooring wasn't exactly top notch, since it was the old mayor's mansion before they moved it closer to the center of the city, but it was still alright. Eunha shook her head and Sowon felt like she should do something.

Pulling out the bedding and setting it out on the floor, Sowon made sure that everything was perfect for Eunha to sleep before looking back at the human. Eunha was still looking at her.

"Um, also, since there seems to be a tiny intruder who seems to come here, um, I hope you don't mind if I uh stay in your room."

Just to make sure. Just to make sure that no one would either know that Eunha was here, or if they were watching and already know, then no one would take her away. Sowon did want to set up a trap but since it was nearly pitch dark outside now, she figured that sitting like a guard dog by the sliding door would be enough.

Eunha did get under the blanket on her own without Sowon demanding that she sleep, so that was a good thing. Sowon did think that watching a person sleep would probably make them nervous, so she turned away and leaned against the wall, looking out the window at the full moon outside.

Thinking of the full moon, Sowon also closed her eyes to focus on her hearing. It wasn't like there were many other beasts in her area, after exerting her dominance and hunting animals regularly, aside from vampires, even werewolves didn't dare enter her lands. Making sure there were no distant howling, Sowon calmed down and drifted into a half alert half asleep state. This was how she slept when she didn't have a house before and had to sleep out in the wilderness, most usually up in a tree somewhere somehow.

Eunha peeked at Sowon from her blanket. When she was being carried here, everything she saw was beautiful from up high. The tops of the trees, the clear sunset sky and sometimes a few birds flying across. She had only begun seeing such beautiful sights since she first left for Sowon's village way out there, and she had a feeling that Sowon was trying to show her what she could have if she would cooperate.

If only she knew how to properly cooperate, Eunha was still telling herself that if she didn't do things, Sowon might get mad, even though Yerin had already told her that she shouldn't, she was still unused to do things without order. Now as she looked at Sowon who was still and maybe asleep, Eunha wondered why Sowon would want to do the things she did.

How did she come to teaching her offerings skills and then sending them on their way?
