3rd Person’s POV

[Sae Young Dormitories…March 01, 20XX]

Erika had took out the 4D members for a celebration now that Anika’s mother had allowed her to stay and debut in South Korea with her members. It was a happy time for them.

“I can’t believe we’re graduating together.”

“Yeah, it’s only a few more days and we’ll be debuting.”

“It’s like a dream come true at this point, I’m really happy right now.”

Erika smiled softly as she watched her members celebrating. She did it... She actually managed to keep the group together until graduation time. She couldn’t believe it too.

“Alright, it’s my treat so pick anything you want.”

The younger girls cheered and went to order a lot of foods. They were in an expensive and delicious restaurant, eating dinner using Erika’s money. She was 4D’s financer, after all.

“How about you, aren’t you going to order?”

“I’ll order later, you kids enjoy yourself.”

Lei shrugged and went to order more. Luckily, they were seated in a long table so the foods would be able to fit in their table. Anika ordered a lot of healthy foods, whereas Jeril ordered a lot of oily foods instead. Lei prefers to order the sweets and snacks to make a change.

They ordered different drinks and started eating when the foods came. Everyone exchanged casual talks with each other, remembering the times they were all in a pinch.

“Ked in shining armor is the best concept, though.”

“You’re showing your favoritism right now, Son.”

“Oh shut up, I’m sure you’re picking the moment when you saved Anika unnie anyway.” and Jeril only shrugged because Lei was right, it was indeed her favorite moment.

“I prefer the moments where Ked unnie talked to my mom, though.”

“Yeah, I’ve always wondered what you said to Mrs. Choi that made her agree.”

“I told her something that I can relate to, that’s all.” Erika said nonchalantly as she shrugged. “It wasn’t that hard to convince her, especially that she was only burdened by the family.”

“Sounds like something you can relate, indeed.”

“I’m not burdened by my family, Jeon.”

“Oh, aren’t you?” Jeril challenged, causing Erika to glare at her while the two vocalist started exchanging confused looks at each other. “What I mean is, your family seems complicated.”

“Every family is complicated, now drop it.”

“Alright, whatever you say.” Jeril said with a smirk.

They continued eating, even though Lei and Anika was still confused at what Jeril and Erika had been talking about. There was something more to it, both of them knew…

“Back to a much lighter topic, what concept do you guys want for our debut song?”

They started exchanging what they wanted to do if they film their music video and the atmosphere lighten up again. They were back to exchanging casual talks until they’re done.

On the way back, they were chattering lightly with each other but Erika was nervous. Something’s wrong. And she was right when they saw a familiar woman in their dorm…

“Mom--” Erika was cut off when Mrs. Kim slapped her own daughter.

“You lied, Erika.” the anger in her mother’s tone is very apparent.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.” but it only pissed Mrs. Kim more.

“You didn’t mean to?” Mrs. Kim let out a sarcastic chuckle, identical to Erika’s. “You didn’t mean to lie when you told me you don’t know this girls.” she motioned to the 4D members. “You didn’t mean to lie when you said that you would never lie to me, right?”

Erika let out a deep sigh and refused to answer, she knows that her mother would just be more pissed if she cut her off so she opted to listen until she’s done instead.

“I know about what you did, Erika. All of it…” Erika bit her lips. “From your little group, you beating Timothy, your gang fight, making a deal with Son family…” Lei’s eyes widen. “And the latest thing you did, using our private plane and your registered lawyer license.”

This time, Anika and Jeril’s eyes widened too. None of them knew that the things Erika did for them would have consequences, Jeril guessed but she wasn’t sure that it would be true.

“Now, give me an explanation to those things.”

“I can’t, mom.” Erika sighed once more. “Those are true.”

“And why did you lied to me all this fcking time, treating me a fool?”

“Because I know you wouldn’t agree to anything I do, mom. I had to, I’m sorry.”

“Say your sorry when you get to the mansion, your father is waiting there.” Erika’s heart started to race fast. She couldn’t believe that she’ll be seeing her father just because of this.

“D-Dad came home?”

“Yes, and he wants you there.”

“I…I understand.” Mrs. Kim turned around and left without another glance at Erika nor the rest of the 4D, leaving the atmosphere stood still…until Erika chuckled. “Sorry about that.”

“What…was that?”

“That is what being a Kim really is.”

They exchanged worried looks, finally realizing that their leader’s life isn’t as rosy as it seems. No wonder she could relate to Anika’s family problem, she has family problems herself…
