3rd Person’s POV

[Sae Young Academy of Arts…January 17, 20XX]

“No, no. Your turn is supposed to go left, not right.” Jeril corrected once more, causing Lei to groaned. They’ve been over this for five minutes now, yet they’re still here…

“I did turn left, you were looking at the mirror so it did looked like I turned right.”

“No, I saw in the mirror that you turned left so you must have turned right.”

“Should we stop them?” Anika asked Erika, who was busy holding her laughter in. The two maknaes were bickering over stupid stuff and she couldn’t help herself from feeling funny.

“Let them be.” their leader said once she calmed down. “They’ll solved it, trust me.”

“The performance is in four days and it’s our first public performance, so get a grip.” Jeril told Lei, and the latter actually looked pissed. Anika looked at Erika with an alarmed look.

“I think they’ll worsen the problem, Ked unnie.”

“You know what? You’re right. Break them apart now!”

Lei took a peek behind the curtain and saw a lot of men in suits waiting for their performance. When Jeril said it was her father’s meeting, all of them thought that a small amount of people would attend. But this meeting looks like a party in Lei’s opinion.

“There are less people than I thought.” Erika muttered, appearing behind Lei.

“What do you mean? There’s a lot of them out there, you don’t think it’s enough?”

“It’s been awhile since I’ve performed, President Panda. I was hoping for a bigger crowd.”

“This is a meeting, not a Music Bank performance.” Anika joined in, walking towards them while holding a bottle of water. “Anyway, have you two seen Chase? I couldn’t find her.”

“She’s in the rooftop, practicing her dance break over and over.” Erika answered.

“That girl.” Anika murmured, shaking her head. “I’ll go get her, we need to prepare now.”

The two girls nodded their heads in agreement so the main vocalist started heading towards the rooftop. She opened the door and saw Jeril dancing without any music on.

“Are you nervous?”

“I’m terrified.”

Anika laughed and approached her bestfriend. She picked up the phone on the floor and randomly picked a song to play. It was BTS Magic Shop, the group’s official comfort song.

With a smile, Anika started singing…

I know that hesitation, because even if you speak from the heart…

It will come back to you as scars.

I will not say such obvious thing as ‘have strength’.

I will tell you, tell you my story.

What did I say--

“Nope, nope. You’re not rapping.” Jeril stopped Anika before she could even begin, causing the older girl (by a few months -Jeon Jeril Chase) to pout her lips.

“Cutting someone off is rude.”

“You rapping would be rude for my ears.”

“HEY! I’m good at rapping…” Jeril gave her a look and Anika pouted even more. “Fine, I at rapping. But you’re a good friend, so you would totally let me rap even though it’s bad.”

“Nope, I won’t. I tolerate a lot of things about you, rapping is not one.”

“Fine, I’ll just do what I’m best at.” Jeril looked confused so she continued singing.

And 4D’s main vocalist belted the high notes of Park Jimin effortlessly, causing Jeril to forget about her nervousness and started clapping while looking at Anika in awe.

“Yep, you should definitely stick with singing. You’re an awesome vocalist.”

“Thanks, Chase. You’re awesome too, and an amazing dancer. I know you can do it.”

“What if I can’t?” Anika chuckled before approaching her and…smacked her head. “OUCH!”

“Sorry, I needed to. You were talking nonsense, and I know only violence would lead you back.” Anika shrugged. “You should stop saying you can’t, because you can and you will.”

“Is that how you actually comfort someone?”

“Only for my awesome dancing bestfriend, Ms. Jeon.”

“You’re placing too much faith in me, Ms. Choi.” Jeril said with a chuckle but then smiled softly at Anika. “I won’t let you down, bestfriend.” and Anika couldn’t help but smile back.

“I know you won’t.”

“Okay, then. It’s showtime…”

They headed down together and met with Erika and Lei in the backstage. The two are already holding their microphones so Jeril reached for hers and Anika’s then they chanted.

“4 different person, 4 different character, 4D!” with that, they went out to the stage.

They stand on their position and waited for the song to play. It only took a few seconds before the familiar energetic tone started playing in the speaker of the place.

TWICE!

They started dancing to the beat and waited for the lyrics to come…

Fluttering heart, me Likey

They performed ‘Likey by TWICE’ with Lei doing Sana and Tzuyu’s parts, Anika doing Nayeon and Jeongyeon’s part, Erika doing Jihyo, Dahyun and Chaeyoung’s part, and lastly, Jeril doing Mina and Momo’s part. When the dance break came, everyone were all amazed.

Mr. Jeon sat at his seat, watching his daughter dance and he couldn’t help but smile to himself. This is the brightest moment she had seen from Jeril, she really is a natural dancer.

“She got the dancing genes from you.” Mrs. Jeon mentioned with a fond smile.

“Yeah, I know. But she got her hard working attitude from you.” he retorted back. “She is working hard for this and I’m glad, but I’m more glad that your effort paid off.”

“It was a hard work, but I did it. Turns out, all I need is an idol, a president and a loner.”

“The perfect recipe for a perfect group?” Mr. Jeon joked, making his wife hit him.
