3rd Person’s POV

[Starbucks Coffee Shop…June 11, 20XX]

Jeril entered Starbucks to buy her black coffee but she noticed the long line. She sighed to herself and looked infront to see what was causing the traffic. It was someone familiar to her.

“Council President?” Jeril muttered to herself “Oh, right. Son Lei Min…”

Lei was looking through her bag for her wallet because she can’t find it in her pocket. That was the reason of the long line in Starbucks.

“I’m really sorry. It’s somewhere here in my bag. Please wait a minute.” Lei said

“A minute? It’s been like 30 minutes, miss.” the cashier said annoyingly when someone suddenly slammed money in the counter

“Don’t talk to customers like that.” Jeril said “I’ll pay for her drinks and a cup of black coffee for me.”

“O-Oh, coming right up.” the cashier said as she told the barista while she gave the change to Jeril “T-Thank you for buying.” she said when she handed the coffee

“You’re welcome. This will be the last time, anyway.” Jeril said as she got her coffee then walk away

Lei immediately bowed to the cashier before running off to catch up with Jeril “Ya, Jeon!” she called “Wait up, Jeon Jeril.” she added “Tsk. I think I know why you’re named ‘Chase’…”

“What was that?” Jeril asked as she faced Lei “Did you just made fun of my name, President sshi?”

“A-Aniya. I just want to thank you for earlier but you won’t stop when I call your name.”

“It’s no problem. I didn’t helped because I know you, I helped because that cashier was being rude.”

“Ohh…I see. Well, still. Thanks for that.” Lei said with a smile “And thanks for the frappe.”

Jeril scoffed as she shook her head “I’m going, President. Enjoy your frappe.” she said then walk away

Meanwhile, Anika was in the café and she saw what Jeril did to help Lei. It was none of her business but it made her stood up and went outside the café to see what happens next. When she went out, Lei and Jeril were nowhere to be found so Anika decided to stroll around the mall.

Suddenly, someone grabbed and hug her from behind. Anika prepared herself to beat the heck out of this person but that thought went gone when she heard the person’s voice.

“Let’s stay like this until the sasaeng fans are gone.” Erika suggested so Anika nod her head

After a while, Anika noticed that no one were following Erika anymore “Let go now, Ked sshi. There’s no sasaeng fans left.” she said as she looked around while Erika break away from the back hug

“Thanks, Choi.” Erika said with a smile “And you’re welcome, because you get to hug me.”

‘Tsk. Why is she so confident of herself?’ Anika thought “Yeah, sure. You’re welcome and…thanks?”

Erika chuckled “Can I do something to pay you back for saving me? Name it and I’ll give it to you.”

“No thanks, Ked sshi. It’s fine.”

“Really? I could treat you for coffee or something. The arcade, maybe?”

“No, thanks. I’m not a gamer.”

“I see. Well, my offer is always up. You can ask me anything whenever you need it, alright?”

“Whatever you  say.”

“I’ll be going now. See you, Choi. Thanks for the help.”

“No problem.”

Erika made her way towards the arcade when Anika realized that Erika knows her. She called her ‘Choi’ that means Erika knows her full name.

‘How the hell did she know me, though?’ Anika thought as she walk around ‘I never interacted with her before in my life. I’ve only got to talk to her today so how. How does she knows my name—‘

Anika’s thought were interrupted when she felt a cold sensation in her shirt.

“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry.” Lei apologized as she tries to wipe the frappe in Anika’s shirt “I’m really sorry, Anika sshi.”

“President?” Anika muttered then she realized what happened “Aish…please be careful next time, President sshi.”

“I’m really sorry. Today is my unlucky day so…I don’t know what’s happening to the world.”

Anika hold Lei by the shoulder “Calm down. There’s no such thing as unlucky day. You control what’s happening to your world. Now, move. I’ve got to change.” she added and move Lei to the side

“I’m terribly sorry, Anika sshi.” Lei said before Anika could walk away completely to the comfort room

Lei was feeling terrible today. Nothing was going well to her plans. She decided to head to the arcade which is the best place to have fun. When she arrived, she noticed that many people were watching a game so she went there but as soon as she did, the game ended.

Earlier

“I’ll be going now. See you, Choi. Thanks for the help.”

“No problem.”

Erika made her way towards the arcade and played to the one versus one game and she realized that her opponent was Jeril. The famous gangster, Jeon Jeril Chase.

‘Oh…it’s Jeon. Let’s see her gaming skills, then.’ Erika thought in her mind

So Erika did test Jeril’s fighting skills if it’s better not only in real life but also in virtual games. The two of them got into a heated battle that made the others people in the arcade watch them.

Erika has always been a playgirl, yeah…it has two meanings. So, she was good at games. That’s why she won but Lei was too late to see it. While Jeril stood up and excused herself to the restroom.

“Aish, it’s unfair that I didn’t get to see it.” Lei muttered to herself with a pout “Tsk. I hate this day.”

“Why?” Erika suddenly interrupted “Is something wrong with this day?”

“Ked sshi? I thought…nevermind. What are you doing here?”

“Having fun on my day off. How about you?”

“Was about to have fun but everything I do turns out bad. I think today is really my unlucky day.”

“I don’t think so. You get to meet me.” Erika said confidently “Come with me. I’ll make your day better.”

“And how are you going to do that?”

“Just follow me.” Erika said as she walked first so Lei followed “Pick a prize.” she said when they reached the claw machines

“No one has ever won in this place, Ked sshi. Claw machines are cheater.”

“Don’t worry. I’m a better cheater than these machines.” Erika stated with a wink “Come on. Just pick a prize. I swear…I can take that.”

“Fine. I want that panda.” Lei said as she pointed a panda stuff toy “Can you do it?”

“Ofcourse. If I can get this, will it make your day better?”

“Absolutely.”

“Great. Here I go, then.” Erika muttered as she started to play the claw machine and went to the panda’s side “And…catch it.” she added as she pressed the button, making the panda hang in the claw

“Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it.” Lei reacted as the panda went to the prize box “You did it.”

Erika got the panda from the prize box and handed it to Lei “I told you, I can do it.”

“W-Wow. Thank you so much for this.”

“Don’t mention it.” Erika stated “Do you still want me to win more?”

“Can you?” Lei asked with stars in her eyes

“Let’s see if I can…” Erika muttered as she started to play with the claw machines

Meanwhile in the restroom, Jeril saw Anika wiping her shirt because of the frappe.

“What happened to you?”

“Why do you care?”

“I just wanted to ask.”

“President’s frappe spilled on me, okay?”

“Oh…the frappe I bought?”

“Yes.”

“I see.” Jeril muttered “Then, should I apologize?”

“Why would you?” Anika asked weirdly “You didn’t do anything wrong.”

“I feel like I should apologize.”

“Don’t. It’ll feel weird if you do.”

Jeril then took off her leather jacket and handed it to Anika “Wear this so I don’t have to apologize.”

“What?”

“Wear this. It’s cold outside.”

“I’m fine. Please mind your own business.”

Jeril wrapped her jacket around Anika before she hurriedly went outside. Anika could only watched in shock as the door of the restroom closed.

“What’s wrong with her? She’s being…kind?” Anika muttered “That’s…weird.”
